typos and all)

Greetings!

Welcome to the latest more informative Tool newsletter. We know that it
has been awhile & we apologize. We are going to try & make these things
more regular (think 2-3 times a year) & do exclusive notices for the
mailing list (think first announcement of tour dates, exclusive shirts &
CD's, etc.). We'll start by trying to answer your most commonly asked
questions:

**Lawsuit with Volcano Recordings: We are presently in the early stages
of litigation with Volcano Recordings. Stay tuned.

**Touring/New Album: We have not discussed writing, let alone recording
a new album and this has been further complicated by the Volcano
lawsuit. We are however considering some touring during next year.
However, we cannot play your prom, your barbeque, bar mitzvah or your
dog's birthday. We do suggest that you access the Tool web site
(www.toolband.com) for up to date news. Also we will be sending out
flyers to all of you as well.

**Videos: We have produced two videos for the ®nima album for
"Stinkfist" & "®nema". Contrary to any rumors there are no commercially
available video compilations of any of the Tool videos. If you see any
advertised on the web or in magazines they are bootlegs. Which means
they are overpriced, sub-quality & not worth wasting your money one
[sic] & besides we don't make any money either. Which leads us to:

**Bootlegs: Tales from the Darkside is a bootleg. It sounds like
crap. If you must add it to your collection, we suggest stealing/taping
it as it was stolen from us. Again if you purchase bootlegged live
tapes, they are usually of inferior sound quality. You are being ripped
off. Wait for the "official" bootlegs coming to a web site or
newsletter near you.

**Fan Club: We don't have a fan club as such, we will try to get out
2-3 newsletters per year instead. & we are developing an e-mail mailing
list for sometime in the new year as part of the web site.

**Lyrics/Guitar Tabs: Some lyrics can be found at
http://toolshed.down.net, an unofficial web site. Guitar tabs do exist
(example - various guitar magazines & on the internet), but as we've
never had the time to transcribe any of the music. They are incorrect.
We plan to have the sheet music released as a book sometime next year.

**Merchandise: We have included a merchandise order form where some
items have been deleted, but we have added two new shirts, one black &
one white. These order forms will go directly to our office where we
hope your orders will be filled quicker than previously & also we will
be able to pass on some savings to you. & for every $25 you order, we
will send you two free Tool antenna balls to stick on your car.

**Bill Hicks: There have been many inquiries of Bill Hicks & his
association with us. Bill was our friend & died well before his time.
Some of his comedy routines have been released on four CDs on Rykodisc.
Go get them at your local record store & if they don't have them, have
the store order them for you. Here are the titles and their catalog #s
to help you order them: Dangerous (#10350), Relentless (#10351).
Arizona Bay (#10352) & Rant in E-Minor (#10353).

**Adam's Artwork: There is no compilation of Adam's work. We've
included a piece in this newsletter, but the web site will be a far
better canvas. At this point none of his artwork is for sale.

**Autographs: We don't sell autograph's and/or photos or anything
else. Nor can we fill requests for autographs due to the number of
requests. It is best that we say no to everybody than yes to a few.

**Book Recommendations: Here are some books that we think are worth you
checking out. For your convenience the title, author, publisher & ISBN
# (this helps for ordering at your local store) are listed. We highly
recommend the web site operated by Amazon (http://www.amazon.com) for
ordering books through the mail.
