Any information? > Actually they put uniforms on. They took off their regular costumes and now they're wearing police uniforms and playing under the guise of X-Cops. They released the album a few months ago. I had it until some bastard broke into my car and stole my portable cd player and 30 cds (the SOB also got my Opiate, Undertow, and Tales from the Darkside cds - !@#$%^). The album is called "You Have the Right to Remain Silent..." and is a little rougher than GWAR, it's actually kinda punk sounding. Oderus only sings lead vocals on one song so it won't jump out at you as being GWAR right away. At least until you read the words to songs like "Cavity Search" does GWARs "influence" show. From what I gathered from alt.music.gwar, this is just a temporary gig between GWAR albums. They're touring this summer (came to D.C. in June) and supposedly putting a new album (GWAR, that is) out around November. Hope it's as good as This Toilet Earth. You just gotta love B.D.F.!!!! My shoes are still bloody from the D.C. show last December! -Pete ------------------------------ Topic No. 8 Date: Thu, 3 Aug 1995 17:27:36 -0500 From: mlovitt@mail.utexas.edu (michael lovitt) To: tool-list@visix.com Subject: tool bootleg www page Message-ID: <199508032227.RAA21105@mail.utexas.edu> a while back i made a post announcing the possiblity of a tool page devoted to the trading and selling of tool bootlegs... many of you have replied and the response is very positive, so the page is definitely a go... if you would like to be on this page, mail me your list of tool bootlegs. make sure you include 1) the title of the recording; 2) the format (cd, tape, video, etc.); 3) if it's a tape or video, include the generation; and 4) if the item is "for trade" or "for sale"... and if you're selling it, you can include a price if you'd like... there is also a "wanted" section, so if there is a specific bootleg you are looking for, you can send me a list of those too... again, make sure you tell me what format you want it in... if i can get a few more lists mailed to me, the page should go up someitme in the next couple of days... thanks for your support.. -- michael ------------------------------ Topic No. 9 Date: Fri, 4 Aug 95 09:25 EST From: matts@mpx.com.au (Matt Steadman) To: tool-list@visix.com Cc: pete_meincke@mac.net.com Subject: Re: MJK - The Rooster? Message-ID: <9508040225.AA01519@lux.levels.unisa.edu.au> Fellow Tools, I was giving Opiate the daily listen the other day (As is my wont), and when it finished, and my ears stopped bleeding, I came to wondering, can Maynard really scream for as long and as hard as he does in the songs Jerk-Off and Opiate? (ie when he screams DIIIIE! and Rape YOOOOOOOUUUUUU! respectively) Having lived in this fukn concert-magnet city of Adelaide for my short life I have never actually seen TOOL live and was just wondering how big Maynard's fucking lungs really are. I mean I thought the scream in Jesus Christ Pose was long, but I shit you not, Maynard can double it easy. Im hanging to see him do it live, because usually live screams in songs are shit compared to on the album, but since Jerk Off is live, well, good effort Maynard! Fuck Im looking forward to that concert! Message-ID: When I last saw Tool a little over a year ago he kept doing the bent over at the waist, while trying to work on his abs thing. He also did this ninja, like disembowlment manuever several times. While bent over he would thrust the mike up into his stomach hard and fast. After one such occasion he had a large red spot on his stomach. It looked really painful but I never saw him cry(darn). Also no one mentioned that during slow parts of songs how he would give a slow peircing gaze around the crowd. Message-ID: > He can really do it, trust me. > If you get one of the bootlegs, you'll see...... Another thing you'll see live is that when(as on the bootlegs) Maynard is off-key when screaming, he is actually doing it intentionally, with the aim of bringing pain to the audience, if his facial expressions are any indication. It was nothing short of revelatory when I saw him do it, because I had hitherto thought, ah well, I suppose even Tool can't avoid the commnon aesthetic pitfalls of a live performance. But I was wrong, and yes, it changed everything, so that listening now to bootlegs, I'm in on the gag and getting even more out of them. ------------------------------ Topic No. 16 Date: Fri, 04 Aug 1995 04:30:33 EDT From: ETNL43B@prodigy.com (MR ANDY J SKELLY) To: tool-list@visix.com Subject: RE:fkn long loud scream Message-ID: <013.09463789.ETNL43B@prodigy.com> Hey Kevin, could I get a copy of those bootlegs? ;) also Could ANYONE who has a video bootleg that could copy it for me EMAIL so I can send a tape?
