It does seem, though, that there are more and more people wearing tool shirts, and stuff like that. When I saw the Foo Fighters, Tool dominated the shirts before the show. Well, it's nothing too huge...did you ever look at the inside of Undertow to see what instruments they play? Mostresticator, bastardometer, bottom feeder, and membranophones. I just think that's awesome! It adds so much to the gark, gRIM image of the album. anyway, I chose bottom feeder out of the four because it sounds like it means bass ("bottom") but it's also the name for any kind of scavenging fish. Mike ps my PC is named "mostresticator" -- you might start seeing posts from mshurpik@mostresticator.mit.edu once I get it all set up... ------------------------------ Topic No. 11 Date: 4 Aug 1995 13:14:58 -0700 From: "heckman" To: tool-list@visix.com Subject: RE: First Time Message-ID: <199508042010.QAA07439@shelby.visix.com> I vividly remember my first time - my sister and her boyfriend were living in Salt Lake City and she called me one day last February and told me that her boyfriend had bought this GREAT CD and I just had to get one. So, I went and bought Undertow, and loved it so much, I went back and bought Opiate a couple days later. Her boyfriend has this great TOOL hat, and I would love to get my hands on one. By the way, what's the status on the stickers? I know this is non-TOOL related, but I was wondering if any of you have heard of Liquid Sunshine?? They're from California (Santa Barbara, I think) - anyhow, I heard them last night for the first time, and they were incredible! They are one of those bands that you love before they've even finished playing the first song. They are sort of a cross between Smashing Pumpkins and Cranberries (I know, weird combination) - the three female vocalists are incredible. Just thought I should share that with you. -Jamie ___________________________________________ From: tool-list@Visix.COM on Fri, Aug 4, 1995 10:47 AM Subject: First Time To: Multiple recipients of list I haven't posted regularly because i work weird hour and am not home often. TOOL... i'd like to point out a small error (more like a monsterous mistake.. but you'd hafta expect that...) in the Oz Alternative Nation (1995) guide... they (dis?)credited TOOL with having troublegum (therapy?) as their forth (!!?) album.. heh heh.. cool pic, tho'...
