When I saw the inside of the cover, I wouldn't allow it to be played on my stereo. Two months later, I heard Sober on a local radio station and fell in love with the band. That was back in 93', and since then, I have become one of the biggest Tool fans I know. Excluding everyone in here. With the help Tool's music and Henry Rollins, I have changed my whole outlook on life. Feeds on Life! It's a total shithole in one of the worst parts of town. At the time, this friend of mine and I were into this band called Green Jello (Green Jelly now, 'cause they got sued), and he'd heard about Tool through them. He spent close to an hour talking me into going to see "this really cool band GJ know". Keep in mind that this is pre- Opiate; in fact I think they'd only played a few gigs. We'd had quite a bit to drink by the time Tool went on, and the show really wasn't all that good - I remember thinking, "Boy, these guys are a bunch of losers". Glad I was wrong :). Funny thing is though, I kept going to see them every chance I got. It was cool watching them get better and better. BTW, a couple of months ago Tool played here in town, and they played a few songs I'd not heard before. I'm assuming they were new material, because the songs were defitely more mature than the recognizable "Opiate" and "Undertow" stuff. If these songs were any indication, the new album should be amazing.
