Been real busy at work. Actually right now I'm doing the band results... Anyway, I doubt the results would be very different, but it's hard to say. There's supposedly two hundred thirty something people who receive the list according to Greg, and only about 60 people replied. That's only about a quarter of the population on the list responding to it. (which is about the same percentage of people who vote in general elections in the USofA) Everyone else either thought it was a stupid idea, were apathetic, forgot to vote, wanted their privacy or whatever. I would have liked it better had *everyone* responded. It would have been a hell of a lot more work, but I never figured it would happen. We may not know who all is out there, but at least we can look into a slice of the pie and get an idea of what's in it. ------------------------------ Topic No. 6 Date: Thu, 17 Aug 95 14:30:00 -0400 From: nivek.ogre@compudata.com (NIVEK OGRE) To: tool-list@visix.com Subject: Re: pantera Message-ID: <8AF5366.01F4047ED8.uuout@compudata.com> hey pete, would you be interested in any pantera cd's? i have all three of the bigger releases (cowboys .. vulgar and far beyond). i'd love to trade them for other cd's (i'd prolly even give you two or three for one depending on what i get =) nivek.ogre@compudata.com --- þ CMPQwk #1.42þ UNREGISTERED EVALUATION COPY ------------------------------ Topic No. 7 Date: Thu, 17 Aug 95 14:03:00 -0400 From: nivek.ogre@compudata.com (NIVEK OGRE) To: tool-list@visix.com Subject: Re: pantera Message-ID: <8AF534B.01F4047ED6.uuout@compudata.com> K> Come on, you can't be serious, i could probably learn a K>pantera song on guitar in about 5 minutes, all they do is play about 3 K>different power chords. Very cool! > I didn't notice it the first few times through, and it works well. Check out the song they put on the Demon Knight soundtrack. It's pretty good. Check out Mouth for War on Vulgar Display of Power, too. Another good one, not to mention Fucking Hostile and Walk.. I'd have to say their corniest song would be This Love.. That's a cool thing about Tool, none of their songs really come off as corny, even though MJK can kind of over-wail. ----- You have just been verbally molested by: bozak@bridge.net Was it good for you? ----- ------------------------------ Topic No. 31 Date: Thu, 17 Aug 1995 15:42:26 EDT From: UXDX70B@prodigy.com (MR CHAD CHRISTENSEN-WOODS) To: tool-list@visix.com Subject: re: radio play Message-ID: <013.00008347.UXDX70B@prodigy.com> Toooooodddd Kelly is a jackass! I found out that I can get KROQ 106.7 when I drive north/south so I have that dialed in most of the time. Is there anyone who agrees? i agree fully. a lot of metallica songs (esp. the thing that should not be) are very emotional songs. a lot of thier newer stuff (ie. thier latest album) is a bit commercial, but still, ride the lightning and master of puppets are two of the best cd's i have ever heard. ------------------------------ Topic No. 35 Date: Thu, 17 Aug 95 16:33:00 -0400 From: nivek.ogre@compudata.com (NIVEK OGRE) To: tool-list@visix.com Subject: Re: pantera Message-ID: <8AF53E1.01F4047F32.uuout@compudata.com> -> Actually I have all three of those already. I think Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iome would beg to differ with your thoughts on who invented metal. Most of Metallica's inspiration came from Black Sabbath, after all. And Deep Purple was doing Smoke on the Water even before that.. ----- You have just been verbally molested by: bozak@bridge.net Was it good for you? ----- ------------------------------ Topic No. 39 Date: Thu, 17 Aug 1995 16:56:42 -0400 (EDT) From: jjbl To: tool-list@Visix.COM Subject: Re: emotional blocks Message-ID: On Thu, 17 Aug 1995 RollinsMan@aol.com wrote: > A friend of mine read in a Pulse magazine, at the local Tower Records, that > Al Jourgenson left Ministry. Fithpig keeps getting pushed back, and nobody seems to know why. Jourgenson talked many times about how he believed the whole "industrial" label to be a crock of shit that he doesn't want to be a part of. The first single off of Filthpig is supposed to be a cover of the Bob Dylan song "Lay Lady Lay", HARDLY something you'd imagine Ministry doing. And Al J. also did a rather amazing rendition of Jerry Garcia's "Friend of the Devil" with a very country tinge to it at a tribute show last year. Hey, I guess I can't blame the guy for not limiting himself to one type of music.. ----- You have just been verbally molested by: bozak@bridge.net Was it good for you? ----- ------------------------------ End of TOOL-LIST Digest 405 ***************************
