This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Well. First of all, it was absolutely amazing. I got there at noon and waited for six hours right by the doors so I could run in and try to get as close as I possibly could to the front, and whenever they finally let us in, I made it to a spot RIGHT AGAINST THE BAR! I was in the very front for my first Tool show, I was so excited! Tricky was very... uhm.. misplaced. They had good beats, but it sounded like they were playing the same song over and over again. They just.. didn't match Tool very well. At one point between songs, people were screaming "TOOL!" and the lead singer goes "Yeah, yeah they're coming!" Waiting for Tool to come on stage was a longer wait for me than the six hours I spent outside in the cold, but as soon as the lights went down, I just went crazy, I was so excited! Then i saw the band come out and I had to keep telling myself it was all real. Like most of the shows, they opened with The Grudge, followed by (-) ions, and since I was so excited I really can't remember the order of most of these, but this is what I remember of the set list: The Grudge, (-) ions, Stinkfist, The Patient, Schism, Reflection, Prison Sex (the live version), Eulogy(!!) Parabol/Parabola, AEnema, Disposition, and Lateralus- there might have been a couple more, I can't remember. At one point after the intermission (which was really cool, featuring the naked silver painted contortionists swinging from their ankles from the ceiling) Maynard spoke to us for the first time, and said something like "Could you all do me a favor? Raise your hands up and point to the ceiling. Now point back to the sound stage. See that guy with the hairy back? That's Knobby, and today is his birthday. He is twenty-one years old. For his birthday, we got him a special gift. We decided to get him a second testicle." and everyone was cheering and laughing. It was all amazing, I started crying during Parabol just because it was so incredibly beautiful... they all sounded so good! At the end, Maynard said the things he's been saying to the other concerts lately, about turning our feelings into something positive, etc. Then they did Lateralus and hugged after that. Maynard then took three extra bottles of water that he didn't drink and threw them into the crowd, and Adam crumbled up the setlist and threw it also. Danny threw something but I couldn't tell what it was, but it was big and cool looking, and a drumstick. But I wanted to catch the Maynard water. Eheh. I just want to quit school and follow Tool around the rest of the country now. ;)

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

God. All I have to say. The guy before got teh setlist mostly right, bute here's it completely in order: Grudge- Dude..... (-) Ions- Very Brief Stinkfist!!- Extended Bridge, my friend Steve yelled "I'll Keep...." by accident. Prison Sex- Caught Everyone by surprise. Eon Blue Apocalypse The Patient Eulogy- I love this song, but they' played it instead of two of my favorites, 46&2 and Pushit. Schism- With an extended bridge for Osseus to do more head bobbing. The Woman then proceeded to do a near Aenema-style head between the legs........ Funky Noise...... Disposition- Absolutely hypnotic........... Reflection Adam playing the last riff progressively slower, while the video of a man with a disembodied head kept waving progressively slower. (I love that riff.....) Funky intermission noise- Spinning Salival man made me think I'd get Pushit....Here come of Osseus Labyrint friends. Absolutely mind blowing.......went into Triad- I originally didn't want them to play this. I take it back. It was extended, with Osseus going insane, I can't quite put it into words. My friend Kevin leaned over to me and said "Imagine the kind of sex these people have.." They are truly talented. Parabol- oh, god, yes.............................................as hypnotic as Disposition....... Parabola!!!!!!!!- Best one of the night. I wasn't planning on it being SO good. By this point my body had los control, and I found myself doing hand movements according to the words in the music, lost my posture, and almost whacked the people in front of me upside the head several times. (Pot-smokers......) Here I think Maynard gave his Soundboard guy speech. I refused to point, thinking it was going to be the non-conformist speech. First thing he said all night. (Maybe before Parabol, not completely sure.) Mysterious Noise........................what could it be? AENIMA!- Ape-shit!!!!!!!!!!! It's tough in the stands, though. but damn............... "Turn this into something positive". THe band gathers around the drum set.......... Lateralus- I just kept thinking, "this is the last song, feel the moment....." I did, and lost control of my own body. (Did spiraling movements with my arms.) It's over. Maynard and then Justin start flinging water bottles into the crowd, followed by Danny with a drumstick, Adam with the setlist, and suddenly Danny throws a large, round, plastic thing (Maybe a bass drum head) that frisbees way out into the stands. I can't imagine the struggle the people had for that thing. Band gets together and hugs. Maynard leaves. Everyone else stands and waves for a minute. Then head back Maynard wore kind of a tight almost muscle shirt, and didn't strip this time. Adam had a red T-shirt, and Justin's hair was long and poofy. Danny had on some funny looking long shorts, kinda looked like a surfer. Maynard picked up a guitar at Schism and didn't put it down until after Triad. And he did play, had a weird stance, too. Our seats were section 114, row P. Not too far away, but a funny angle, though. The videos were also intriguing. Several of them involved a lot of naked people shaking their naked selves around. (I could have sworn one of them looked like Danny.) Especially Prison Sex......... But for Stinkfist they ran a chopped up version of the original video, as well as the one for Schism. The Undertow ribs were my favorite, though. They also showed part of the 46&2 video during Eulogy, which pretty much told me they weren't playing my favorite song, whimper. But most of the videos consisted of the same image repeating back and forth, but periodically switching to another image. We also got animated versions of many of the TooL T-shirts, particularly Pillhead during Lateralus and the drowning people during Triad. We got there at exactly 7:30 and Tricky was already on stage, playing "Bury the Evidence". I don't know if there were any other songs before that, but that's where I came in at. The bass was WAY too loud, and he didn't play anything I really recognised, which is unfortunate because I have some of his stuff, and I really like it. But he didn't play anything else after that. A lot of fans screamed "You Suck" and "We want Tool". They're just dicks. My friend Mark said it sounded like garbled Prodigy beats. I wish he'd played his softer stuff. I guess he thought what he played would appeal to us. It really didn't, and some of those songs were simply too long. But I still greatly respect the man and his music. One complaint I have about the show was that, unlike any show I've ever been to, I don't think it was loud enough. The last show I saw at Kiel, Garbage, was the loudest show I'd ever been to, so it wasn't the venue. Occasionally the voices of my friends singing along drowned out Maynard's. But it was all good. I only wish I'd had a setlist more like their second show in May. That was a perfect list. But I Loved what I got. And they better come back next year, I almost bought tix for KC, too, but I have no many, and have much homework. (Just like Maynard to come to town at the end of the quarter) But I think I covered everything. Their were also some seriously hot Tool chicks there.................oh man. :-) Maybe there's hope for me after all. Thank you guys. Come Back.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

I really don't like the arena rock fans that are being attracted at these concerts. I missed a lot of the concert last night because I was too busy wondering what is wrong with the thousands of idiots on the floor with me that think its cool to "mosh" to songs like parabola or aenima. I think the phase "dumbfounded dipshits" never meant more to me than last night. Granted, the fucking concert was awesome. It was an assault on every band that has taken the "art" out of rock music. Maynard is sincere in all his motions. He'd do nothing rather than fake anything. Danny is a freak of nature. How anyone's arms can move so fast is beyond me. It was beautiful. Except for all the morons that were attracted to the place. From now on I think Tool's concert schedule should revolve around a Limp Bizkit tour. When Limp Bizkit has a concert in St. Louis, Tool should have one on the same night in St. Louis. At least there wouldn't be so many white trash drunken hoosiers in my Tool crowd, that like to elbow people in the face everytime they hear a powerchord. I saw some kid walk past me last night, with a gash in the side of his face and a cheek shimmering with blood. I think he came to hear Aenima, but one of you dipshits didn't let him hear it. Stick to Metallica, morons. Here's the set list. The Grudge. Stinkfist. Prison Sex The Patient Eulogy Schism Reflection Disposition Triad Parabol Parabola Aenima Lateralus

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Words cannot describe what I have just experienced. This show was absolutely amazing. I got in at 6:30 and walked onto the floor where I remained for the rest of the night. The whole show I was about 18 feet from the stage! First lemme get a couple complaints outta the way. 1st off, Tricky sucked. He didn't get the crowd going at all, his music was pretty much just rap on top of hard rock music with some funky keyboard and guitar effects and a hip-hop/R&B drum beat behind every song. On top of that, every single song sounded the same and the drummer's bass drum was WAAAAY too loud, like annoyingly loud. No one seemed to take much of a liking to them. I'll put it this way, when they finished their set and people cheered, i could still hold a normal volume conversation with my buddy standing next to me. The crowd overall was not that great, they just didn't get into it like me and the friends i went with, im like "c'mon dude we're seeing Tool!!". It really kinda put a damper on things. And finally, they did not play 46 & 2, which is not a huge deal but i was definately looking forward to watching Danny pound out that drum solo, oh well. Ok now on with the good stuff. The setlist : The Grudge (-)ions Stinkfist Prison Sex Eon Blue Appocalypse The Patient Eulogy Schism (w/ Osseus Labyrint) Jam (the band making a bunch of trippy noises with their instruments) Disposition Reflection -----Intermission (w/ Osseus Labyrint)----- Triad Parabol Parabola Aenima Lateralus Excellent set. Yes, they actually played Prison Sex, i about shit a brick when they started it. And they did Eulogy. So theres 2 songs i wasn't expecting to hear. Maynard played this synth/guitar thing on Disposition, Reflection, Triad and the jam. Stinkfist kicked ass because they started out with just the feedback in the beginning of the song. Then after they did the extended bridge, the music stopped and Adam did the intro (the high pitched, funky sounding notes that, on the studio version come right before the feedback) and then they continued with the song. Osseus Labyrint was mind boggeling. They were naked and painted completely silver and did some majorly crazy shit, very interesting. The visuals were astounding. I can't even describe them, just a lot of computer generated sequences, there were some live action sequences in there too, you would have to see them for yourself. There were lots of naked people in them too. The light show was very excellent, lots of colors. Carrey was the man as usual, I could not take my eyes off of him, he makes it look so easy, i envy him with everything in me. Maynard gave the positive energy speech. Also toward the end of the show he said "Can you guys do me a favor?....Everyone point to the ceiling" (so we did) he then said "now slowly point to the sound guy in the middle of the floor" (and we did) he said "our sound guy, his name is Nahvee, today is his birthday, he is 21 and for a present we got him a second testicle" and everyone laughed and cheered as expected. that was pretty much all he said to the crowd the whole night, on top of "thank you all for coming here". Those were pretty much the highlights of the night. The t-shirts cost $35 each (so no i did not get one). At the end, they all came together on the stage and hugged and then each one threw about 3 bottles of water to the crowd, Danny threw some drumsticks and a bass drum head and i think Adam threw a setlist. All i can say is that it blew me away, by far one of the best fucking shows i have ever seen and anyone who is given the chance to see this band live should jump all over it. I paid $45 for my ticket and i would have gladly paid at least $70 if not more. Tool is absolutely amazing and this show was phenomenal. Anyone who will be seeing them is in for a real treat.

Well I'm glad someone remembered the setlist correctly. I swore to myself I'd remember it but after three songs I was so excited and into it I forgot the order after that. I do agree with you Michael about Tool and Bizkit should be in the same town on the same night. Give Bizkit the Savvis Center and give Tool The Pageant. I'd much rather have the intimacy in a Tool show. Unfortunately I'll probably never see an intimate show, which really sucks. I can only imagine the energy at those shows. Especially if all the fake Tool fans weren't there. They're more like the people who've seen Schism on MTV and that's it. They probably don't even know where to find it on the radio dial because all they listen to is the top 40 station. I hope that the show was way over their heads, because it takes a lot to see a Tool show. You don't just watch it, you're envolved inside and out. It's probably the most amazing thing you can experience, and if you're a fake fan, there's no way you can appreciate everything that goes on. *steps off the soap box*

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

This was my first tool show ever and it rocked. The set list was very good, except they didn't play Pushit, the song i wanted to hear the most, but it still was an awesome show. Here's the set list in order: Intro(about an hour of slow weird music) The Grudge (-)ions Stinkfist w/ extended bridge and original lyrics Prison Sex Eon Blue Apocalypse The Pacient Eulogy Schism w/ Osseus Labyrint Disposition Reflection -Intermission w/ Osseus Labyrint- Triad Parabol/a AEnema Lateralus The set speaks for itself. The visualizations were great also. I've never smelled so much pot in my life, it was a shame i didnt have any but just about the whole crowd was roasted. Anyway, the audio on the grudge didnt sound too well but by stinkfist they sounded great together. At the end of Reflection Adam stayed up there by himself after the rest of the group headed backstage for the intermission. He stayed up there for at least 5 minutes (seriously) and played those last couple of notes over and over. there were people whistling and yelling to hurry up and it pissed me off because Adam is like a god to me. he has some courage to stand up infront of 40,000 people and play the same thing for that long in my opinion. The highlight of the night was deftinetly AEnema. it sounded awesome and Maynard got into it. being my first tool show i have to say they put on an awesome show, i hope they tour and come by again soon. thank you tool and come back soon.

PHENOMENAL! I had really crappy seats (really high directly to the left of the stage), but I really am glad I went. I ADORE Tool's music, and they were in top form last night. After reading the setlists for the past month and noticing that Prison Sex (my favorite song) was not on them, I thought for sure they were just going to tease us with the intro and lead into Stinkfist. WRONG! I swear I reached Nirvana when they played the first four bars of it. Visually, the show was interesting. I suppose that the folks getting really stoned on weed or acid truly enjoyed that element of it, but since I don't partake of either, I was much more interested in the sound quality. How these guys make live performance sound exactly like their albums is beyond me. I can't wait to see 'em again!

Great show!!! best yet, The band has really gotten tight. Lots of little extra beats and notes. I loved the set list (see above post) I have heard them do the old stuff it was great to see all the new shit. Maynerd even pulled out a bass or guitar (i couldnt tell from where i was). Maynerds voice was alittle off to start but he warmed up by the 3rd song, it was weird to see him dressed!! The band was flawless. I would have to agree that it wasnt as loud as some of there other shows but what the played sure fuckn rocked. It was worth the 4 years between shows, i just cant wait to see em again.

This was incredible. It's the first concert I've ever been to besides local bands and the first at the Savvis Center. Me and my friend Mike left right after school since we live an hour and a half away. We got there at about 5:30 parked. Went and walked around Union Station a little. Decided it sucked and left. We then went and stood in the General Admission line and realized we didn't have GA seats. So we went to right line, got checked then went in. We found our seats, straight across from the stage. Not on the floor but I didn't care I wanted to enjoy the show not mosh. We went and looked the shirts. I didn't even see any tour shirts just regular TOOL shirts. A few new ones too. We went back in at 6 and waited for Tricky. Tricky played for nearly 50 minutes. I don't remember any of the songs but they all sounded the same. Then when they all left everyone knew it was growing closer. Everytime like a light appeared on the stage the whole crowd started cheering. Finally all the lights went out and we see the band members come out. Then we see Maynard take place in front of the screen and the crowd errupts. They break into The Grudge and everyone is on their feet. The video to this song was one of my favorites. It had the grey alien guy and when Maynard let out that scream, the alien head was shaking so fast. It was incredible. I think the video's made the show a lot better. Then (-)ions which the whole time the crowd was still clapping from The Grudge. The they break into Stinkfist. I figured this would be second for some reason. I even told Dustin to look forward to seeing it. It was performed very well with the extra bridge and all. It threw me off at first but I liked it. Then I heard the springs stretching and I knew it was Prison Sex. The extended version of this is wonderful. I can't even explain how good it sounds. Next was The Patient, I had hoped for this song just because I thought it would be nice live. In which it was. I didn't expect Eulogy though. I had to stand up for this one. Some old guy behind was trying to get me to sit down, I told him to stand up. The whole crowd sang with Maynard through most of the song. I knew Schism was next. I told Mike "Their gonna play Schism". I liked how they stopped in the middle and let the Schism people walk around. It was crazy then they picked up and rocked out the rest of the song. Then I thought I heard Disposition and I wasn't sure because usually they play Parabol first but then I found out it was. Relfection was incredible especially the end when Adam played the same riff over and over slower and slower. Then the Schism people came back out and hung upside down for like 15 minutes. I don't know how they do it. The band played the crap of a song and those guys were going nuts. Spinning around and around. Then played Parabol/Parabola they both sounded really cool. It was weird to see Maynard play guitar. The crowd cheered forever after those two. Then we hear hey, hey, hey, hey. Ænema. It was incredible. I was in a trance pretty much the whole song. My favorite song of the evening. Then they played Lateralus the visuals for this song were nice too. A great finisher. Maynard didn't say a whole lot. He had three things to say. 1.)Can you all do me a favor? Point up to the ceiling. Now slowly point down to the Sound Booth. There's a guy in there with a harry back and a white t-shirt on. His name is Knobby. Today is his birthday. He turned 21. For his birthday we got him a second testicle. 2.)[Before Lateralus]I hope we have served as a catalyst for you. I hope we have served as a catalyst for your wants and needs. 3.)[Before Lateralus]The speech about energy. It's been typed so many times no need to retype it. After the show the band gave out all kinds of things. I've read a review for every show and never heard of this so I was surprised. I found Dustin after the show and he said it's the best show he's ever seen. Coming from Dustin this was weird. His favorite band is Korn and he has seen like every band live. So if that doesn't show how good the show was I don't know what will.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Well, its the following evening and tonight isn't near as fun as last night I can assure you all that. I had been reading reviews of previous shows and was ready for what was to come, my only wish , other than an AMAZING NIGHT was that Eulogy, the Patient, and Prison Sex be perfromed live in front of me. . . YOU HAVE NEVER seen a happier person in your life than I was when they broke into Eulogy. Me and a complete stranger just turned to one another screamed out loud and just grabbed one another by the shoulders and yelled like little kids in a candy store. Bad analogy but it was simply amazing. I have been in love with this band, the music, the art, and everything that evolves with them through the years, they are "master of their domains". I had only had this particular feeling once before and that was when I was singing along with Maynard at an A Perfect Circle show earlier this year in St. Louis, and it happened quite similarly. Mid-song, hit a climatic high, Myself and Maynard stretching a note on for what seemed forever . . It brought tears to my eyes. I dont know what more to say . . Most definately an AMAZING and EMOTIONAL experience. To Adam, Justin, Danny, and Maynard . . See you all next time your in St. Louis.

As expected, the right hemisphere of my brain is still reeling. The performance was everything I knew that it would be, no complaints. I came with a girl who I had a relationship with for almost two years, and consider one of my closest friends. The set was great, Prison Sex was a surprise, the "live" verse drew a few tears that were futile to hold back. Since I first heard Disposition I have wanted to hear this live, it was beautiful. Osseus Labyrint was amazing, I thought it really brought the show to a whole new level. It was an experience that I won't soon forget. From begining to end I hung onto every note. And to be there with someone who I care alot for made the night all the more special. We lost her shirt we bought there, twice, and the second time someone had picked it up already, and he actually returned it when he realized we had lost it. Honesty prevails, thank you. With all the senslessness going on all around us it was nice to come in from the rain for a bit.

When the guitar noises to the beginning of Prison Sex started, I was so happy. Everyone was screaming, it was great. I don't think they play that one too much, and there was an extra part at the end, just before the lyrics "I have found some kind of temporary sanity..." It was terrific. Maynard stayed real close to one of the screens, so he just looked like a silhouette the entire performance. Maybe you could have seen him if you were closer to the stage, but i couldnt from the first row of the seats... he could have been naked for all I know... Sometime during the performance, I can't remember when, might have been in between triad and parabol... Maynard asked everyone to point towards the ceiling of the dome. Then he said to point to the sound boards, and said something to the effect of, "You see the man with the hairy back and the white t-shirt? Today is his birthday. He's getting a second testicle." I have no idea what that was all about, sounds just like more of the bullshit Maynard says on stage to make us either scratch our heads or laugh. They repeated that guitar part at the end of reflection, it must have been 100 times while the contortionists climbed up the screens on ropes and did a performance all the way through triad. It was interesting.

right after seeing tool , im sitting there and thinking and i have this feeling that i havent felt since i saw NIN 1 year and a half ago, and i looked over at my friend eric and i said "Honestly do live shows get any better than that" he looks back and said "no man they dont" . well im not going to type out the setlist just because everybody else has and it gets monotonous quick. i would like to say a couple things about the members of tool, starting off i belive that adam justin and maynard, all put some money together and bought a really really good drum machine and put it in a big crash test dummy and then put clothes and hair on it and named him danney carrey, this guy is a fucking machine he hardly moves his body its all his hands, he was hitting drums he couldnt even see , and the gong, man that gong was neat as hell. words cannot describe how quick and precise this guy is. Now to adam jones , he is one of the best 3 guitar players ever, (the other 2 being jimmy page and david gilmour) those 3 guitar players can do more with 2 strings than most guiar players can with 6, and to justin chanceleor definitly one of the best bass players since well of course , paul d amour,. its almost like justin and adam were meant to play together. and maynard was so precise with the words even to the learn to swim learn to swim learn to swim in anema its simply amazing , that is the one word right there that can descrbie a tool show just fucking amazing.

Well, it was the second time seeing TOOL, and I can whole- heartedly say that I can now die a happy man. After seeing them here at Ozzfest 98, Friday night's performance was long overdue. For me, the highlight of the evening was the performance of Eulogy, Ænema, as well as Parabola. Osseus Labyrint's performance during the set was both mesmerizing and phenomenal. Note: The best way to see Tool is sober. It's a great disrespect to Maynard and the guys to say that you were at one of their concerts, but were too fucked up to remember how the show went. But, then again, that's my own humble opinion. Tool fans rock. Tool is the best band ever.

This concert was the biggest event in my life, and it was the greatest night of my life as well. Tool first opened with "The Grudge" and then ended with "Lateralus" i believe. Tool also played "Stinkfist" and in between the part where Maynard sings "how could this mean anything to me, when i dont fell anything at all" and "I'll keep digging". They added a whole new verse which lasted, I'd say 1 to 2mins. Just like they did with Prison Sex with the "Over the Rainbow Mix". It was so awesome and suprised a lot of people, everyone in the stadium loved it. Near the middle of the show, Maynard told his fans, "We're glad you came". After this, he asked everyone a favor, to point your finger up to the ceiling and slowly point down toward the 'sound test area'. Maynard then said, " You see that bald, guy with the hairy back behind the mixing board? We call him "Knoby" and today is his 21st birthday. And for his birthday we got him a 2nd testicle". I still can't comprihend how lucky i was to go to this concert which was a rare event. Tool hasn't been to St. Louis since '97 during the Lollapolooza Tour. Though its all over now, I'm still excited, cause I can finally say to myself that I finally went to a Tool concert.

Tonight's concert was just amazing. I found myself on the verge of tears several times especially, during Parabol/Parabola, Reflection, and Lateralus. I had floor seats, but even though I was only but 20 feet from the stage would probably have preferred actual seats upfront due to the idiots that think a power chord means mosh, no matter what band is playing. Anyhow, I saw Tool at Lollapalooza and Ozzfest, but this was my first time seeing them play a FULL set, it was great. I had been waiting for 5 months to see them since I didn't have luck getting tickets to the shows in May. The show was awesome, so were the contorsionists! Adam was just amazing on guitar. I don't really like how Maynard's secluded in the back on that ledge, I would liek to see him move around more. Anyhow, I can't wait to see Tool again, and tonight's performance confirmed for the millionth time for me that there is no other artist out there who's music has as much substinance and conviction as Tool's.

Friday's show was absolutely great. I was on the floor the whole time and I must say that the sound was great. A few people commented that it was not loud enough but I thought it was right on the mark. There are few things as aggrevating as going to a show where it's so loud you can' t hear the subtle things because they are drowned out by screaming guitar. I loved all the songs. I have no complaints about the setlist. I have to say the best part of the evening was when the went into diposition and reflection. I took notice of the people around me and they went from rage-propelled fist throwers to intrigued children. Nothing like music to soothe the savage beast, eh? I think the best song though was definitely triad. They played it right after the intermission. Danny came back out and started playing this simple piece and then it got very complicated. He did this for probably 4- 5 minutes then started hinting at Triad as the other band members came back out. I would like to say one thing about Maynard playing guitar. It's about time and if he didn't have any influence on writing guitar parts before I hope he will in the future. I have to express my disapointment concerning the mullet-adorned mosh types. I was hoping for an uprising. I sincerely hope these people do not breed. As easy as it is to despise these types; they are an illustration of the segment of the population left out of the loop of evolution. So at least they have educational value. If you have a friend with a moshing problem please get them help. Friends don't let friends act like automotons.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

The last time I saw Tool was Lollapolooza, in which Tricky also played. And I have to say that Tricky is just as appropriate an opening act than any other band that could open for Tool. Tricky makes you want to close your eyes and be surrounded by the music, just like Tool. The only part of the Tricky show that completely let me down was not playing "Hell Around the Corner." Well, I think they may have played it because Martine did her part (she also did the Anthony Kiedis part for "Boys/Girls"), but Tricky just faced the drummer and smoked for the whole song. Plus Tricky acted a bit like a spoiled rock star the way he just dropped the mic and left the stage at the end of their last song. Sure, he was underappreciated for one helluva a set, but he's an opening act. Jesus would get booed in such a situation. Plus most of the people were probably really looking forward to the upcoming Nickleback&Saliva show, and were there for something loud, not artistic and beatiful. The guy behind me was shouting, "FUCKING TOOL BABY YEA!" for the entire Tool set. He never stopped. Tool was just as incredible as I remember, but I would have really perferred to hear 46&2, Pushit, Opiate, Third Eye, Hooker with a Penis, shit anything than the meandering and tedious intermission. I guess it took so long for the contortionists to get geared up for their jaw-dropping performance. But they could have popped off another song, maybe two, instead of playing the same three notes over and over again, wearing me out. As much as the contortionists kicked ass, more Tool would have been so much better. You wouldn't be happy if you went to a Van Gough exhibit to find 4 Matt Groening cartoons in the show, regardless of how funny, especially if it's taking up space that could be filled by Starry Night. The show was great. That round frisbee thing landed about 5 rows in front of me. It had a star of David drawn on it, with an eye in the middle of star. The set lists were already provided. Tricky was great, and didn't stick out as much as people would like you to believe. Tool should have played longer, but you always gotta to keep them wanting more (and if concerts go past I think 11 pm, those roadies and what not get payed double time and a half).

This was my first Tool concert and i will now be going to every concert they play in st. louis. The show was unbelieveable. I read a music reviewer's review in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and he basically hammered ( no pun intended ) Tool's performance. Well just to let everyone know, the show was the complete opposite of that dudes fucked up opinion. For me the highlight of the night was probably Eulogy. It fucking rocked and it seemed more powerful for some reason than the rest of the songs. All in all i thought it was a solid show.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

First of all, I think I've seen some good live bands but nothing compares to this.. First, Tricky. Their first song was cool and the slower songs they had were nice and smooth and put everybody in a mood to listen to good powerful music. But I thought most of their faster songs sounded the same and I also felt a little sorry for em cuz people were yelling for Tool and one dude was yelling for Maynard. They were good performers though and pretty entertaining even though the lead singer faced the opposite way for most of the set. There were only two people separating me from the stage so I was glad I got an up-close look at the guys whose music has influenced me for so long. Danny's like 8 feet tall I swear. Each song was perfect. Each note was perfect. I would've loved 46 and 2 but any setlist they would've picked would have been perfect. Eulogy was a surprise. When he says "Goodbye" at the end of that, it's amazing. The highlights included the leading up to Parabola from Parabol. The place just went nuts. AEnima was really well-received. And I almost jizzed my pants when Adam started the riff on Prison Sex. But Adam didn't move at all the whole time. I think he was looking at me. That was cool. Justin was pretty motionless too except near the end of Lateralis he started really getting into it. And Danny is the most flawless and the easiest drummer in the world. He makes it look so fucking simple it's incredible. And the drumset is a behemoth. Maynard's a unique guy making love to the video screen behind him. But he's coo for getting that dude a second testicle for his b-day. I just turned 21 and I didn't get a chode or anything like that. I know it has little to do with the concert but he really is the best songwriter the world has ever seen. The guys are true musical artists and this show was spectacular on all levels. They really surpassed everybody's high expectations and that's impressive. They best be coming back. Late.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

First off i'm a lil late in posting this but t.d.n. problems and wut not have held me off till this second. Im not going to post a setlist because thats been done way too much, and its not going to be "i wish they would have" reviews. Instead i just want to say Thank You and INcredible. I went to see TooL in Chicago earlier this year and the show there wasnt' nearly as good. Granted i had seats but still, it was shorter and the crowd didnt seem to get into it as much. But in St.Louis i found myself in a spot comprable to 2nd row and enjoyed Tricky even though those around us found the need to yell out "Tool" or "Maynard" every 2 seconds. I felt bad for Tricky considering that he is an artist first and then a musician, just like every member of TooL. I enjoyed his set and wished he would have played for longer but of course i was not disappointed when the guys hit the stage. From my second row spot i was thrust in every direction and eventually back but still in a good spot. I let the vibes of the crowd take me into this own little world that i knew at least some people there shared with me. It was those yelling b4 the concert that just wanted to bash some heads. I slipped away into this psudeo-reality and tried to grasp every chord and sound being emmitted. I was blown away by the mastery of Danny, Adam, and Justin. They are so underappreciated because of the powerful voice that leads them into lives of so many people. When the first half was over i kinda settled back down and started to talk to people as Adam played this beautiful solo. It gave me the chance to talk to people who were enjoying everything as much as i was and revel in the entire experience. When "Labrynth" came out the crowd ooh'd and awww'd but i just took it all in and wondered how much training does it take to do something like that. But that "distraction" held my attention and breath long enough for the band to come back out. The second half wasn't as long as the original but still it was everything i could have asked for. The guys ended their set and gave a hug which in alot of ways touched me, considering how many bands are on the skids or have already fallen in the gutter its nice to see how these friends stay together through hectic touring, side projects, and everyday problems and yet still manage to make a grown man take a step back from the world around him and re- examine the things he took as reality. Finally i give an all to cliche'd yet meaninful "Thank You" to everyone involved in the show and tour. Its rare that an art show can fill a arena and make those in the audience want more. That is a tribute to you and all that you have done for those without a voice in this world. Tapped into the life force of my generation and given them something to work towards that doesnt involve corruption but instead creation of a unique thought. Once again i thank you TooL and hope that every person of every show feels the same way i do.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Well, well, well. I have finally got around to writing this review. This was my second TOOL show this year and ever for that matter. I saw them in Chicago which was an unforgettable experience. Well, TOOL finally came back to our lovely hometown of St. Louis. Mike, assman, and I waited outside Savvis for about 4 hrs and got like second row on the floor compared to our seats for Chicago. But I could feel the drunk fucks pressing in as the time for TOOL got closer. FAT DRUNK FUCKS began just pushing all the people in the front 4 rows up against the fence. It was fuckin unbelievable. It was hot as hell, girls were gettin smashed, and everyone was gettin pissed. That is not the way a TOOL concert should be. People should watch the concert and absorb its greatness. I couldnt soak everything in cuz i was more worried about breathing and tryin not to get beat in the head. I can't explain how pissed all you fucks make REAL fans. Notice that the majority of the TRUE fans that write these reviews say how fuckin stupid you are. Go get drunk and run into each other at home. Ok now onto the show. INCREDIBLE. The Grudge was powerful as always. Stinkfist (my fav) was once again played to perfection. A pleasant and desired surprise of Prision Sex made the night even better. They played an incredible Eulogy again but i was more hoping for Pushit. Disposition and Reflection were extremely tight again and the addition of Triad was perfect. I loved it cuz those songs separate true fans from the ones who are just there to mosh to aenema. Parabol, Parabola, Patient, Lateralus, and Schism were all incredible. Saw Aenema in Chi. so was kinda hopin for opiate but Aenema was as intense as ever. The boys were awesome. Adam played masterfully as always. Justin seemed to be having a lot of fun and played great. Danny is just fuckin awesome PERIOD. Maynard didnt seem to be as intense as he was in Chicago. He kept all his clothes on for what i think is one of the first times on this tour. He didnt talk as much as normal either. But he is still the greatest. His voice was unbelievable. Thanks for another great show you guys. We would love to have you back in St. Louis soon. Mike, Kyle, and I will be seeing you again.

great show. we had floor tickets and after a quick run back to the car to put my necklace away, we were in and waiting for the show to begin. everyone got the setlist right this time so im not goin to post it again. a couple highlights: prison sex!!! i wasnt expecting this song i figured maybe one song off undertow but not this one which they seem to not play live very much. the contortionist people were awesome swinging upsidedown by their feet for over a half hour and making cool movements to the music was great. i dont know how they do all that. adam with the very extended guitar riff on triad i believe was cool nobody knew what to do after 15 min of the same riff so i started waving my lighter, and soon after the entire arena was lit with all the lighters. yes that was me down on the floor who started it :) lateralus at the end was moving hard to explain how it felt i was lost in the music. best tool show yet? maybe it was certainly different from the past festival shows ive been too. cant wait to see em next time they come to whatever city im in at the time. spiral out, see you auntie -casey

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

After reading reviews that amounted to nothing more than idol worship, I thought I would add my persective to the events of 19 Oct. I had the fortune of being near the front gate of the floor for the entirety of the concert, except for times the crowd turned on me. Unlike other reviewers, I won't whine about moshing and those who espouse it as some form of release to accompany the music, I will only suggest that it is to be expected and that getting seats is a good way of avoiding it (and the subsequent complaints). And to the ignorant man that thought there was a policy in place enabling stoned and vulgar GA ticketholders who arrived in line earlier than me to force themselves ahead of me on the floor, please get your head out of your ass in the near future. Aside from that individual, the crowd was pleasant to share the experience with, even if that pleasantness was just a by-product of the copious substance abuse I witnessed. Tricky, although musically interesting, didn't mesh well with the taste of the majority audience and met with harsh sentiments from those around me (not abnormal for opening acts). His set was marked by repeated songs and bass assaults that was energetic but failed to spark any interest in me other than a few head nods to the rhythm. It seemed like his entourage was a little excessive also. Tricky's lack of stage presence, aside from his twitching, didn't aid the affair and I'm sure I could have gotten a similar overall effect from hearing his CD played over the loudspeakers. Seeing Tool live for the first time was overwhelming at first and I almost considered suspending judgement of their performance because it was such an amazing moment to see them on stage. But as the novelty wore off, I realized that the band had a distinct detachment from the audience. They looked no one in the eye, acknowledged no greetings, and didn't attempt to give anything to the audience other than their music. Some might appreciate their focus and professionalism , but to me it seemed callous. I'm not sure anyone goes to a Tool concert expecting the atmosphere of a symphony performance, but that's what they got. This uncomfortable feeling could have been overcome by a simple "Hello," but there was none and it seemed like they were just putting in their time until the concert was over. I'm not sure what motivates them to play live, perhaps to prove that they can appreciably replicate their music on stage or maybe it's the insane amount of revenue they gleam from merchandising t-shirts for $35, but I don't feel that they come to offer anything more than I can get from putting on headphones and listening to their CDs. Only at the very end of the concert was there a sense of appreciation for the thousands of fans that gave their time and money to attend the concert. And for me, that wasn't enough to mask their seeming indifference. This was my first and last Tool concert.

Well, I see I'm late to the review posting party, but I have to do something at work... :) Anyway, the show was wonderful. This being my first Tool show, I can't really comment on how well the band did compared to other performances, so I'll just say they sounded very tight. The sound mix was probably the best I've ever heard in an 'arena' venue. Good bass, clean high end, sufficient but not overpowering volume. Someone else here mentioned the review in the Post- Dispatch. It seemed like he thought the band did well, but was complaining about the band presenting the music and images, rather than their egos. I guess the reviewer wanted Maynard to say "Hello St. Louis" and lead contests to see which side of the arena could yell louder....

See previous posts for set lists. My friend and I first saw Tool several years ago when they were trouring with Lolla.. It was one of the better show I have seen. My friend agreed. Our expectations were VERY high going into the evening. We couldn't wait for Tricky to get off the stage. Tool broke the crowd wide open. The special effects were excellent. I enjoyed the large projectors and movies alot. The band has an incredible amount of talent to be able to play insync with the videos. I really liked hearing their newer stuff, and the older tunes were better than when I heard them live the first time. My friend and I agreed that we both did NOT like the intermission show. It was neat, but we were in row HH and we could not see much detail. We went for more $6.75 beer and bathroom breaks. The finishing set after the intermission was a pretty good blend, but not near as powerfull as the opening three songs. Med and I agreed that the Lalla show was better because they only had 1 hour to play their butts off and they did that very well. The show on the 19th wasn't nearly as intense or loud. I've seen Tool play a lot harder. You have to love Maynard's crystal clear voice though.

If you haven't seen a TOOL concert yet , I recommend you go and see them soon. I was not expecting the images that they played on the big screens , that freaked me out alittle.....just alittle. But any-who....they perform excellent!!....I really paid attention to the lead singer (maynard) because he has an excellent voice. He hit every note on key . He is just an amazing singer. He has a gift. I hope in the future I can go see them agian.:)

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

I witnessed the beauty, I felt inspired, and I felt connected. This concert was amazing. You'll never get all the songs you want to hear at a Tool concert, but that's only because there are so many songs worth hearing, and I loved every one I heard. Being on the floor, there was an immense energy in the crowd that connected to the music, and even if some people made that a little too violent at times, it was still part of a wonderful and positive experience. The emotion in the music and in the lyrics is purely awe- inspiring. Disposition and then Reflection: I danced as the music flowed through me, even as many people around me just stood there. I don't know how; the rhythm and beauty in these songs are overwhelming. Osseus Labyrint were mystifying and impressive, and they were amazing hanging in front of the screens during the intermission and more so during Triad. Then Parabol and Parabola, which were even more beautiful and powerful than I had expected. After the exploding rage of Aenema, the band gathered around Danny's set and gave an inspiring speech to take these emotions and turn them into something positive in the coming weeks. It's perhaps the element of Tool that I love the most-- there is so much more in their music than many people that I know seem to assume, and it is indeed positive. Celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing... Lateralus was the perfect song to close the concert, but even then the band didn't just disappear afterwards as so many do. They threw water bottles to the crowd (and Danny threw something big from his set up into the seats), they really showed appreciation for our being there, and they even had a group hug before leaving the stage. It made me feel much more a part of an experience _with_ them, and not just one _watching_ them play. I'm back at school in Houston again now, but this weekend trip home to see Tool was far more than worth it. I had planned on seeing them here, but I'll be out of town when they come, so I was thrilled when the St. Louis date was announced and I realized I could make it. It was the most beautiful, energetic, and rewarding concert I have ever been to. Thanks to the guys in the band for continuing to impress us with your depth. Charlie

This was this reviewer's 3rd Tool show

Once again it was a fabulous show, and I thought the crowd at St Louis was great. We had floor tickets for this one, and I was a bit worried about getting trampled, but to me it was a perfect combination of energy. There were a few people getting crazy so it didn't feel dead, but not so much that you couldn't concentrate on the music, and I was just as close to the stage as I was in Chicago, which was in a much smaller venue . I saw them in Chicago in May and in September in Indy and I love how every time I see them their show just keeps getting tighter. It is amazing to me how well they play together, and the longer they've been on this current tour the more jams they play during the night, which to me is one of the best reasons to go see a live show. It is also cool how every time I've seen them they have changed the video sequences so there is always something new to see and experience during the show. I can't remember which song it was during, I think it's during reflection, but I love the sequence where it looks like Maynard's diving down into the toilet. I also liked the wild naked dancers. For me, the highlights of the night would have to be Eulogy and Triad because Tool didn't play these during the other dates I was at, and also the whole Reflection/Disposition/Triad trilogy. Bathed in the beauty. I wish Maynard would have talked a bit more, and it's true that the band was extremely focused on themselves and didn't seem to interact much with the crowd, but they are playing so many shows with not much time off, and I imagine it is very draining, and they have to focus their energy. I can't wait for them to come back to the midwest. Whenever and where ever it will be, you can be sure I'll be there, too. If you have a chance to go see Tool, don't miss it.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Seeing Tool in concert is like falling in love all over again. It's a phenomenal feeling. First of all, I was really looking forward to hearing Sober or H. I never knew what the setlist would be though so it's not like I was betrayed. Since I couldn't even scratch the surface of the music without speaking in tongues, I'll discuss the visuals. STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE SHOW!!! Anyhow, the visuals for the show were great. From where I was sitting (the club seats, which kind of sucked) I remember counting at least 6 screens (1 of which was right behind Maynard). Primarily things like crazy- looking naked people twitching around at first, then more random things like a worm squirming around... But the best thing about the visuals had to be the "swaying" feel to everything. Every clip was short, several seconds at most, repeating the same effect by playing/rewinding if you catch my drift. The effect caught my attention as soon as I entered the show (I was 2 songs late), and I had trouble peeling my eyes from it until the end. It really brought everyone together into the pulsing feel of the music. The more relaxed moments were the quiet trance tracks (I wasn't on any drugs, either, and I'd like to backhand the morons who wasted their time). During that time they had neon blue lights that cast circles all over the arena adding to the effect of the slow, surreal riffs. Many people pulled out their zippos at this time (though many more did during the wait while the contortionists got ready to hang from the rafters). The general lighting throughout the show wasn't great, but I wouldn't care if it was pitch black, I was there for the music in the first place. I have been saving the best for last. The song that completed the concert for me along with parabol/a was definitely Aenema. The visuals were amazing! During the "some say a comet will fall from the sky..." part of the song, a clip of meteorites played a few times (the colors began distorting as it progressed)... I'll be honest, I'm not sure what happened through the middle portion, I was too busy watching Maynard get into the "Fuck all..."'s. The vibe through the crowd was electrifying, people were singing, dancing, headbanging, generally looking either close to death or orgasm, and the tension mounted until I felt like I would bust, just as bright lights swept from the crowd to the sky, the screens showed drops of water falling, and Maynard broke into an emotional "Cause I'm prayin' for rain...", and he prayed hard enough, as I witnessed and later heard about many people being brought to tears. I myself almost felt quite choked up during that portion of the song. I didn't even quite "get" the feeling of Aenema until I saw it live that night. I became more aware of the spirituality in it and other songs (the giant spinning pentacles they displayed at one point helped clue me in). Other than all that jazz, there was an incredible gray spiney-looking vortex spinning for a long time, an alien-skull thing being added at first, then more vortex patterns, then a red eyeball at the end of the vortex looking around and blinking (much like i felt throughout the concert, astounded and curious, looking from screen to screen, to the stage, and back again). So if I've just spoiled the show for you don't say you weren't warned. And I assure you, you'll enjoy it nonetheless. Even if you've already seen it, GO SEE IT AGAIN. If I had the ability, I would. And sorry, I missed tricky (darn) so no comment there.

Oh my god, that was the best show I've ever seen and possibly the most fun I've ever had. You definately need to see Tool live. I love how Maynard stands back by the video screen. I'm a drummer, and Danny is one of if not the most talented drummers I have ever heard (the best I've heard live). Everyone's already said what happened, so I'm going to go off on a little rant by myself, but I don't want it to take anything away from Tool because they were incredible. These were my pet peeves from the concert. My girlfriend and I got to the show at about 7pm (I wanted to get there earlier to get to the front of the stage, but there was hella construction on I-70) and we were about 15 feet from the front of the stage. At about 9 when Tool went on these big guys who were all messed up started making there way to the front of the stage pushing us out of the way. I'm not going to get in a fight on the floor of a Tool concert with my girlfriend there, but that really pisses me off especially since my girlfriend is about 5'2" and I had to give her a piggy- back half the show to see over the big guys who barge their way in front of us. Secondly, the moshing has already been bovered, but I didn't enjoy it either. Finally, why must everyone get so messed up before the show. You're missing out because you've dulled your senses too much. I know this it is too much to ask that people not toke up at a rock concert, but when my girlfriend and I come to the show completely sober and leave with a big contact buzz that's getting a little out of hand. Have a little consideration for those watching the show. Okay that's all, but I didn't want to take away from the show, it was incredible!!!!

This was this reviewer's 5th Tool show

I went with a friend of mine, we both cut out of work early thinking we'd get the gate. We got to the Savvis Center about three hours early and the line for people with floor tickets was wrapped halfway around the fucking building. It was insane. Once we got in I managed to push enough people out of my way to get about two rows from the front, which was good, but it sucked because I was next to a guy who had to be pushing 400 lbs. in a white shirt that was way too small for him that said "No Means No." What a fag. I'm not a runt, but shit, that guy was fucking huge. There should be a weight limit for anyone going down on the floor who could be a potential mosher. The dude was sweating all over me, but then again, everyone was sweating all over everyone else. Tricky sucked. I'm not into their kind of stuff at all and it seemed that most people weren't. They just seemed out of place opening for Tool. I didn't want to mosh to Tool this time, I just wanted to stand there and enjoy the show, but there were a select few moments when it just felt right to go nuts. As usual, they sounded awsome. I went to see the Rammstein/System/Slipknot show the week before and they sounded pretty good, but Tool took it to another level. The setlist has been posted plenty of times alreaady, so I'll spare the space. I liked the old version of Stinkfist, with the sound effect from the beginning jammed into the end, right before the "I'll start digging...." part. I'd been craving that since I saw them on Lolapolooza in '97. I wish they would have played Pushit, but at least I got to hear Reflection. During the show the security guards were giving people water in between songs, that was very cool. I don't know if it was at the band's request or if they were having problems with people passing out and shit, but I hadn't seen that before. The Schism video dancers got old after about five minutes. During the intermission they hoisted them up to the rafters upside down, and they stayed there througout Triad. But when you looked up at them the first thing that caught your eye was the dude's balls hanging over his cock. I got tired of staring at that. The chick was ok, she could use some implants or somthing though. The video's behind tool were cool too, I couldn't figure out what I was looking at half the time. Maynard's joke about the second testicle was cool, anything Maynard says comes out cool though. Speaking of Maynard he played his little travelling guitar without a head on it quite a bit. I was suprised. It was the same one he was photographed with when he did the Guitar World shoot with APC. At the end they chucked spare bottles of water into the crowd, Adam and Justin crumpled up their setlists and threw them. Danny launched his bass drum head up into the seats and threw his sticks. Then they stood there waving for a minute or two and split. Another five star performance.......

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Hey everyone... Great, Great Show! MUCH Better than last time i saw Tool at ozzfest in 98. But the point of the show's greatness has been emphasized. I would like to say that maybe it's the nature of a few closedminded rednecks from the good old Midwest, but i was seriously annoyed by the lack of respect given to Tricky and to Tool in some cases. I heard many chants of "Get off the Stage" and plenty of booing between tunes during Tricky's set, and if those people knew anything about music, they'd know to respect and take in something new every time. If you don't like it after you gave it a chance, fine. But be respectful of Art. And I'd like to address the few fans being loud during Adam's outro of Reflection (ranging from "play a fucking song" to yelling goodbye to the headless silhouette). If you don't have the depth enough for Tool's music to let it take you places in yourself, then don't be disrespectful and ruin others' Sensory-induced euphoric mind-trips. I don't see why someone who can't enjoy a part of a tool show would come anyway. In the words of Reverend Maynard himself, "Be Patient..." Peace, Nate

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Wow. This was only my second concert ever, my first being Nine Inch Nails, the band im obsessed with, but let me tell you, after 19OCT2001 Tool is gaining an immense amount of ground on Trent (not to bag Trent by any means). I wont type out the setlist (mainly because i was smoked and forgot to write it all down) but rest assured, Maynard and Company did in fact deliver the goods that I and every other legitimate TooL fan were so thirsty for. I absolutely LOVED "The Grudge" live...LET GO! LET GO! LET GO! Wow, i could feel Maynards pain and anger shoot through my body as he screamed like i was that big black guy in "the Green Mile". And Parabol/a, well, let me tell you, if you are going to see TooL after you read this, take my advice: bring kleenex. Very touching. Very deep. The Labyrint intermission was something to behold. So much art. Truly 'poetry in motion'. EULOGY!! EULOGY!! And you HAD to love the way they teased you into "prison sex". And if you are the guy who's 21'st birthday it was, I am extremely jealous of your gift from Maynard LOL...I must admit that i enjoyed NIN more (i'm probably a little biased tho) and i was really hoping to see "pushit" but you cant have everything, i suppose. Nevertheless, an absolutely AMAZING show, nothing less than what i expected. We Miss You Bill, you'd be proud. And believe me, your message is being carried on. Halo Twister

The show was unbelievable. I didn't quite see tricky play, but I didn't really want to anyway. This show was not like any other show that you will ever experience again. I feel closer to tool than ever before. The visuals were very well done to the song lists. The whole show was very well done and I would definitely see them again.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

The show was not what I expected to say the least. First off, Tricky did not pump me up at all. I actually fought to stay awake until TOOL came on. The crowd blew! Did any of those people actually listen to TOOL before they got tickets? The section I sat in was a bunch of boring asses that were too stoned to even stand up and enjoy the amazing experience that was going on in front of them. Ok, what can I say besides this band is made up of musical geniuses. They never miss a beat. Maynard's voice is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard and it's like he doesn't even have to try. He just opens up his mouth and out flows this amazing sound that takes me out of this shitty reality for a while and how the hell can Danny move like that?! I couldn't even see his arms moving. I loved the show as a whole, but I think that TOOL is a band that needs to be seen in a more intimate setting. I couldn't see the emotion on Maynard's face. I don't think the band really even got into it because they weren't feeding off the crowd. You should have to pass some kind of test before you are admitted to see TOOL.
