This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Setlist:(not sure on the order) Mantra Grudge Ions Stinkfist Sober Pushit(original) Schism Parabol/a Disposition Reflection Triad Patient Opiate Lateralus I cannot begin to describe just how amazing this show was.....highlights: stinkfist was altered, Tricky's drummer helped out on Triad, Tricky himself came out to add to Opiate....the band huddled after their set and threw water bottles into the audience. It was an intense show, a very positive experience.

Wow. I wasn't expecting the show I got tonite at all. (Especially for being in IOWA!) Of course Tool is the greatest band you will ever have the opportunity to see in your life. I've now had 2 opportunities, the first being in Chicago where I lost my live-Tool-virginity. But I do have to say that tonite's show was MUCH better. First of all, Tricky...way unappreciated. If I didn't have people bitching at me to sit down I woulda' been up and jumping b/c they kicked ass. More on them in a sec... Maynard came out in like "people-clothes" as I called it wearing something that wasn't Granny Panties w/ bra or full 300 degree leather suit. Adam was Adam, straightforward and I wouldn't have that any other way. ALMOST thot he was pissed b/c my fellow Iowans felt the need to share their beer w/ the band, if u know wut i'm sayin. Justin kicked ass tonite. Clearly focused, and still giving everyone a show. Last but NOT least is Danny, who was of course the man of the night. Not to sound like i know shit about drums, I leave that up to my friend Nate, but Danny was just incredible. I'm not gonna say anything about set lists b/c there is already 300 wrong ones already on here so I dont wanna bother trying to remember. But I can say that the set list was great! It spread out more throughout their albums instead of just focusing on Lateralus. (Yes, that means Opiate was played!) I guess my favorite part of the nite was when the Tricky drummer came out and played w/ Danny on Triad...I was blown away. Opiate had a small feat. w/ the lead singer of Tricky, which was equally as sweet. As for the Maynardisms of the nite, I think he was more relaxed, in both appearance, movement, and of course music. He always impresses me w/ what he does w/ his music, that it goes unspoken that he is one of the greatest of all time. He also took a moment to say how it would be an unfortunate thing if we couldn't open our hearts to Tricky...something like that, but absolutely true, I'm a fan now. I thot the sound was ok. I think Adam's distortion kinda crapped out on him on some parts, but it coulda just been him throwing out a new idea. Iowa should be known for its crowd tho. We were nuts! And the toppless chicks doin their business (Y'all there know wut i'm talking about) was a great time killer in between sets. To wrap up I guess I should just should feel thankful for bands like Tool that can take a moment in our lives like tonite, and make you think about nothing but the music and the feeling that they have devoted their lives to trying to reach us with.

Show was incredible to start here is the setlist minus the interludes into the songs such as - ions 1. The Grudge 2. Stinkfist(extended) 3. Sober 4. Parabol 5. Parabola 6. Pushit(original) 7. Schism 8. Reflection 9. Disposition 10. Triad(w/Tricky) 11. Eon Blue 12. The Patient 13. Opiate(w/Tricky) 14. Lateralus As you can see from the set list Iowa got an awesome kick ass major show. The extended version of Stinkfist was incredible, nice added bridge by Adam, probably around 2 minutes longer than normal. I was very happy to see they played The Patient, was expecting Aenema but no dice. Anyways great show overall, and yes the lesiban action between sets was nice.

This was this reviewer's 3rd Tool show

Just got back from Cedar Rapids, which actually turned out to be a pretty nice place, despite its reputation as being the "city of five smells". Can't begin to tell you what a FANTASTIC show I thought this was, the best of the three I've seen (St. Paul and Madison were the others). The crowd was really friendly overall and none too crushing, allowing me and my friend to stay about 15 feet from the stage for the whole evening, directly in front of Adam Jones. A couple of close- minded people were rude to Tricky, the opening act, but MJK chastised them later, so there. Just my opinion, but I thought they did a good job, and were much better-suited for the opening slot than Meshuggah. Just my opinion though. Tool played "The Patient" and "Opiate", which made me very very happy, but no "46 and 2" (can't have it all, and that's ok). It was cool to see them almost five weeks after the St. Paul and Madison shows, because the set has evolved quite a bit (the first two shows were pretty much identical, with Patient at St. Paul but not Madison). One of the singers from Tricky helped out on Opiate, and their drummer played a long solo with Danny on another song (forget which one at the moment...); both were very cool additions. There was a little too much mic on Danny's bass drums at times, muddling the sound a bit, but other than that I thought the sound was good and everyone was on top of things musically. They all hugged at the end and waved to the crowd a lot (more than I'd seen at the other two shows), so I thought they seemed pretty happy about the show. I know I was. Other tidbits: as I had read in other reviews, there was again a keyboard or something similar to Adam's right, but I don't remember seeing him use it at any point (maybe I missed it). If anyone saw him use it, please post it here (what song, what he did, etc). If anyone knows what it is, and what it does/is supposed to do (synthesizer, effects controls?), could you please email me? Just curious, thanks! On kind of a scary note, right before Tricky started a girl behind us on the floor passed out or had a seizure. The crowd was very helpful and let security/police/paramedics get to her right away (again big thanks), and I'm sure she's ok, but if anyone knows for sure it'd be good to hear. All in all, a pretty wonderful evening. I guess that's the last time I'll see them live for a while, but I have lots of good memories to tide me over until next time, along with a large number of ankle/arm bruises and a really sore ass (from sitting in the cage they use to line everyone up in all day). Take care. mm

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

Well, to start off about five feet away from me on my left some females started having a breast contest and then proceeded to make out. So the evening started out pretty good. It made the time before the music fly by. Tricky was amazing. I have never heard anything like them before. There music was like a reggae rock. It was heavy and full of lyrics. About 3 minutes before Tool came on, the crowd began to sway. It then lurched forward and then backward really hard. I had about ten women in front of me. All of them fell to the ground. Some other guys and I did the best we could to get them up and out of there before it got really wicked. About 2 minutes later I found myself alomst front and center surrounded by a hundred rabid Tool fans thirsty for a glimpse of their o so elusive and brilliant gods. Maynard made coment to how crazy the crowd was when he said. "Are you all taking care of each other out there?" and, "you all want to make it home alive right?" Tool... My god Tool was in my state. That is the most fucking amazing thing ever. NO bands ever make it to iowa. If you want to see someone good you usually have to go to either Chicago or Omaha. They played an amazing set including sober. There was an incredible ten minute intermission type phase when the thing from the cover of undertow started to fly around the screen to some strange sounds. The contortionists hung high above the stage for about 12 minutes and did some amazing things to a very heavy composition that I didn't quite recognize. The most remarkable part was when they began to walk upside down. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not they were actually completely naked or not. Were they wearing paint or a skin suit? This sparked quite an argument on the way home. I think that the cops and security guards at this concert were the rudest I have ever encountered. They wouldn't even give you an inch. They were mean, cruel, and unforgiving. Finally, If anyone ever for a second believes Tool just might be selling out. I want you to take out your holy book and tune it to 3:7. Even if you don't think tool is selling out do this anyway. It is always a good time to hear what the Reverend Maynard has to say. Novus Opiate Seclorum

I would have to say that tonight's show was rather disappointing. The music kicked ass, of course. I'm not very familiar with Tricky, but I was impressed by their unique sound and integration of different genres of music. Tool was awesome, as always. But the crowd tonight...come on people. This was the worst Tool crowd I've ever been in. They were downright violent. It just didn't feel like people were there to come together and hear the music. They were too busy moshing and yelling stupid shit and (sadly) booing Tricky. I know everyone was there to see Tool, but they do an awesome job in choosing very unique opening acts, and people need to keep an open mind. I was very embarassed that this happened during their Iowa debut, and I felt like personally apologizing. I think the Tool was rather upset by this, too, cause it took them a long time to warm up to the crowd, and also Maynard commented that "...it's unfortunate if some of you couldn't open your minds and your hearts to fully experiencing Tricky..." (something like that). But, enough of that, overall I still enjoyed the show. The Osseus Labyrint performers were there again, this time performing to Triad, along with Tricky's drummer. Those two blow me away. I think it's awesome that Tool supports so many different art forms and includes performers like that in their live show. Being a dancer myself, it's good to see that it is an art form that is being recognized (by Tool, anyway) in this context. Some of the artwork was different during this show, too. I noticed it especially during Parabola.

First of all I would like to thank Tool for coming to Iowa. I don't think they have been in the state since 1993 when they were touring with the second Lollapolooza. I was amazed and gratified that for the first time I wouldn't have to drive hours to see them. I doubt if the band is going to read this, but I just wanted to say thanks once more for playing here. It goes without saying that the show was a work of art. The music, the backround screen, Osseus Labyrinth, all added up to make for an, engageing, surreal, wonderful experiance. I doubt if I will ever see a show like this again. Tool unlike other bands doesn't get up on stage and rip though there hits, they attempt, and succeed if you let them, expand your mind to new ways of seeing things. A few thoughts on the show, Tool sounded great, Tricky although I like there music, didn't , not to imply that Tricky didn't put on a great show, they did, but I could hardly make out all of the differant instraments being played it was very muffled. I was sitting in the stands for Tricky and I went on the floor for Tool to better see the backround screen and Osseus Labyrinth. I think that made a large differance in the sound quality. The setlist was great, of course everyone has a wist list of songs they want to hear, but hey, all of Tool's songs are good. Musical highlights for me anyway was Pushit and Lateralus. Both send chills down my spine. The only gripes I have are all crowd related. Any quiet reflective moments the the band was trying to create in the show while not ruined, were greatly hampered by constant screams and whistles. I am not sure what the point of this is but aparently many people see some logic in filling up quite moments with ear peirceing whistles. Two of them were directly to the right and behind me. Ok enough bitching and moaning. All in all one of the best shows I have ever seen.

THEY PLAYED TRIAD! Wahoo! I think highlights of the night were the two girls showing their tits, making out, and then going on to suck on eachother's tits. Well, kidding, of course. I liked this show better than the Minneapolis show I went to last month, for a few reasons: 1. I had general admission this time. 2. I met a shitload of people I knew 3. They played Triad 4. It was a smaller venue Yeah, so basically I had nothing really to contribute except for my own subjective observations. Fuck, I'm tired. Well, I'm off to bed (That's going to feel good!), so I'll leave you nerds with this: Go to the Tool BBS. http://toolbbs.freemagix.com and when you're finished there, head on over to http://www.symbiophrenia.com. this review is going to be "hostile" as well so if you don't want to hear it, then skip. this was the worst crowd i've ever witnessed, and i really do like iowa. to you bimbo cunts (and that's what you are), if i would've flashed my tits, no one would flash after me. sorry to say, but that's the truth, i'm a pretty busty girl, and i'm short, and some guys like that. but i have class and respect and only let my boyfriend see my tits, but that's just me. and to you fuckheads who spent the entire concert bodysurfing and getting carried out by the security guards, thanks for embarassing me and all the other folks who were trying to enjoy the show 100%. what were you trying to accomplish? trying to be tough? did you ever consider tool? how do you think they felt playing their hearts out and seeing a bunch of fucking idiots shouting shit and throwing shit at the stage (including a shoe, which could've seriously hurt one of the band members)? and i can't believe how rude some people were to tricky. sorry that limp bizkit couldn't make it. tricky's different and he likes distoring his voice, at least appreciate someone else in the music industry who is different. i had the pleasure of meeting him in the hotel bar after the concert and he is a real sweet, down to earth guy. so i hope you macho meatheads and bimbo average-tittied cunts are happy that ooooh someone saw you get carried off my a security guard or oooh we saw your tits. big fucking deal. thanks to you, tool wont' have fond memories of this show. i will, because the music was incredible as always, and the contortionists were beautiful, and the images were beautiful, but i had a very excellent view of the floor and i was thouroughly disgusted. to see people shout "yeah!!!!!!!!!" after they got pulled out by a security guard was a disappointing and sick sight. so why don't you do us all the favor of staying home and mosh and throw your shoes for free? you'll be saving 40 bucks, and you can buy a new limp bizkit t-shirt with that money. so fuck all you meatheads and cunts, and peace to all my fellow concert goers who are about peace and appreciation and open-mindedness.

This was this reviewer's 4th Tool show

This was the 3rd time I've had a chance to see TOOL (this year). I was one of the extremely lucky few in iowa to get tix for the May show at the Riviera in Chicago. THERE IS NO CONCERT EVER THAT WILL COMPARE TO THAT. The next time I saw them was at the Allstate Arena show in Chicago. I really thought this CR show was way better than that show at Allstate. The sound was 10 times better, and the opening band was way more suited to be a TOOL opening band. It pretty awesome, that I have seen them 3 times this year and every show has been different. Some of the visuals change, the set lists change. Maynard hardly even said a word to the audience, except when he asked the people on the floor to watch out for each other. I was glad I finally got to hear sober. That was the first time I heard that song played live since Ozzfest/Warp tour in 98. The Triad jam w/Tricky was a kewl touch. I just hope TOOL doesn't think all people in iowa are as stupid as those idiots on the floor. All that pushing and shoving, moshing, throwing shit onto the stage. Come on people, TOOL came to iowa for the first time since 92 Lallapalosa to give us a show and this is the respect you show them. I happened to be sitting up in some really good seats, because I didn't want to be in the middle of all that shit. Tell me one thing (mosh people) how do you mosh to Disposition/Reflection? As for the people in the seats (were you alive) I was the only one for 3 or 4 sections that was standing up. I've seen hundreds of concerts and TOOL is by far the best show you will ever see. We have to appreciate this music and moments while they are here. All in all I just zoned out all the idiots and had a fantastic time. TOOL is the real deal, see them often, and you will truely appreciate how good they are.

Like many other Tool fans here in Iowa, I greatly appreciate the opportunity that was given to us. I was lucky enough to see Tool in St. Paul, and because of being on the floor, I had a very disappointing experience. This time I wasn't going to set foot on the floor unless it was to buy a beer. My plan paid off, and I had one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. Much of the positive listed in the above reviews is what I am reminiscing about, so I won't repeat. Just my opinion, If you want to enjoy a Tool show on this tour, sit as close to the stage as you can, but stay off of the floor. Tool, thank you for the memories. They will forever be embedded in my soul amongst the many other occasions that you four have enhanced my life.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

I was incredibly excited when I found out Tool was coming to Iowa. I live over in Ames, IA, so it was a fairly decent drive, but well worth the 35 + dollars I paid for my ticket. My friends and I camped out in the line starting at about 12:30 in the afternoon, and started out in the front. Bad stuff began to happen right before Tricky (who was...thought provoking, I'll say that for him) when someone had a seizure a few rows behind me. Then, still before Tricky played, some drunken asshole decided that he'd throw elbows to get right behind my friends and I and threaten us with bodily harm if he didn't get to the rail. Nice guy. We went nowhere, and he eventually got ejected. The crowd was positively EVIL. It wasn't so bad during Tricky, but during the lull between the two, the crowd started getting stupid. I've never understood the point of showing off one's tits at a concert. I'm a chick, but I don't want to advertise "Hi, I'm a whore..." to the world. When Tool started, even my toughest friends got out before me. I think I made it through Parabola before I got kicked in the head so hard by a crowdsurfer that I almost passed out, and they pulled me out of there. The thing I remember best about being down in that mess was being able to see Adam's face...nothing seemed to faze him. He seemed disappointed in us. I finally got up to the balcony and had a good view for the rest of the concert. One thing I realized was that Tool is not about the people in the band. It's about the whole experience. The music. The lights. The feelings that those things create in you. It's not about getting drunk and bashing your way to the front. It's not about fighting your way up to get as close to the band as you can. It's them making you FEEL a certain way. Forcing you to grasp on to what you're feeling. It was an incredible show. In Iowa, no less.

This was this reviewer's 4th? Tool show

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. This was probably the best of the four shows I saw this tour. I was very excited to see Tool actually come within a 100 miles of my house. Tricky put on a nice set. I dont think its something Most of the people liked. After Tricky all the drunk people who showed up late decided it was time to push there way to the front. Even before Tools intro music people were swaying and getting pushed. I could tell it was going to be a pretty hostile night. When the lights finally went down then the major crush happened. Finally the boys came on one by one and started the show with the grudge. People were going absolutely apeshit. maynard wasnt wearing the "Pudgy" suit he'd been wearing at the two previous shows I saw. he was wearing the girsl t-shirt with the eye in the center and a pair of leather paints. Adam and justin have worn the same shit the past three times Ive seen them. As usual danny had his pentagram star symbol thing set up on the right side of the stage but there was also a new symbol to the left side of the stage that appeared to have some asian letters amongst some other stuff on it. After the grudge they went on to ions and during ions I saw adam and maynard looking out into the crowd kind of bewildered like cause people were still killing each other. Maynard said "Were all going to take care of each other right, and make sure nooone gets hurt.." Next was the extended Stinkfist with new Elvis lyrics. I like when they bust out that extension right before the 'Ill keep digging" part cause it throws the whole crowd off. After Stinkfist they started playing parabol/parabola, I was very gratefull because only two songs into it and I needed a little brake. I was confused though cause the previous shows hadnt been this way. After parabol/parabola came sober, another suprise. The rest of the show went like this Pushit, Schism, Reflection, Disposition, intermission with osseus lybrinth. While osseus lybrynth were hanging from there chains I saw the rodies bringing out what we called in marching band the quads, but with like three more drums. Againd i was stumped. Danny came on and started playing some beats and the next thing i know theres some little black guy coming on stage and him and Danny start jamin. The others come out and started jaming Triad. I couldnt tell if Maynard was playing a bass or a guitar for this one. usually its difficult to tell if hes really playing but he was really kickin ass on whatever instrument he was playing.Moving up and down the frets with some hammer ons and what not. This version of triad was truly very heavy. After the song maynard said thanks to "Perry" I believe but it could have been any name that ends in "erry". Next Eon blue/Patient, and then Opiate. Halfway through opiate Tricky came out and sang something unintelligeble but it was cool cause Ive alway read about other bands coming onstage with other people but id never seen it before and tonight I saw it twice. They closed the show with My personal favorite lateralus and then the lihgts came on and everyone went home.

First off, let me just say that I can't imagine Tool coming back Iowa. At least I wouldn't. I mean gez, you don't throw your $20 teva sandals up on the stage, or your empty water bottle or whatever. Its not a Warrant concert. Fans at this show for the most part were great, but it's the few fans that think its cool tho do some crank before the show and act like complete assholes that can really ruin the moment for for most. okay, i think thats enough about the crowd. The performance was tremedous. Better than what I saw in St. Paul. I think Tool played harder and stronger as the show went on. Like it was there last. The Triad and Opiate performances were my favs of the show. I really wanted to hear Prison Sex...no, I really didn't care what I heard. I also had the pleasure of taking one of my best friends along. He listens to Tool, but is not like a huge fan or anything. He saw the show and was changed. The whole ride home all I heard was him going on and on about how awesome the show was. First thing this morning he calls me and starts up again. This guy is absolutely retarded over Tool now. That to me is what made it a great show and a great time.

Well, the setlist has already been posted, but I just wanna say a few things about some of the songs 1. The Grudge-what a great way to open the show 2. Stinkfist (extended)-nice to get the special version 3. Sober (!!!!!)-don't we feel special? 4. Parabol-people get their lighters out... 5. Parabola-AND THE CROWD GOES WILD! 6. Pushit (original)-amazing how well they do this live 7. Schism-crowd really popped for this one 8. Reflection-before they started this one, they all kneeled down and played some sort of rolling noise intro. very cool 9. Disposition-crowd didn't seem to be quite as into this one as I was. oh well -Intermission w/ those naked french people hanging upside down. just too cool. 10. Triad (w/ percussionist from Tricky)-all I can say is WOW 11. The Patient-one of my favs of the night 12. Opiate (w/ Tricky)-First of all, when they started this one, I nearly crapped my pants. I couldn't believe it. Then they broke it down and did this extended part in the middle with Tricky guesting on vocals. I was blown away 13. Lateralus-I didn't want it to be over, but you can't ask for much more after this one. Other thoughts... -People throwing cups and shit at the stage? What the fuck? This doesn't help the perception that all Iowans are stupid Slipknkot-crazed hicks -I saw the St. Paul show, so the fact that they didn't do Aenema or 46 & 2 didn't really phase me. Besides, we got Sober and Opiate instead. -For the first half of the show we were sitting up high on the right hand side, basically looking down at the band. It was during this time that I was often mesmerized by Danny Carey's drumming (especially on Parabola) -I had read in a few recent reviews that they were doing Triad more often. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it if they did it tonight, but they pulled it off superbly. And for the record, Tricky's percussionist (Lenny I think) is just fuckin' insane! -Tricky was good, but not exactly spectacular. I am curious to check out some of his CD's now though -All in all the concert was amazing, although I enjoyed the St. Paul show more (probably due to certain illegal narcotics I was on at the time) What else can I say? Tool rocked my world, and I've never been more proud to share my name with these guys.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Yeah, this was my first Tool show. It definatly won't be my last. Before Tricky opened up, someone had a seizure or something and they had to make room in the crowd..not sure what happened with that, but the show did go on. Maybe it was just because there was wayyy too much bass in the building, but Tricky sounded terrible. Some rude people gave the finger and turned their backs to the stage, but some people were enjoying them. After the Tricky set, it was calm for a while, then some brainless morons decided they were going to push their way up to the front. Ok, we had no where to go, and they were going to go past us? No, I don't think so. It got pretty chaotic, the entire crowd was moving back and forth like an ocean (flood). I almost fell down a few times and Tool hadn't even come out yet. It was ridiculous! Anyway, I got pused to about 10 feet from the stage when Tool finally did come out. The crowd went nuts. Maynard was in the leather outfit of previous concerts, Adam was in a sort of ordinary red shirt, and Justin was also in street clothes. I couldn't really see Danny behind his enormous (sweet) drumset. The other reviews have the setlist, so I won't post it. The crowd was insane during The Grudge. I got spun around and almost lost each of my shoes before I was able to retreat back to safe grounds. I think Maynard could realize the crowd was getting a little out of hand because after The Grudge, he said to the crowd "Let's all try to have fun tonight...look out for your fellow brothers and sisters...we don't want anyone to die." The highlights of the night for me was when they played Pushit, which is one of my top 3 favorite songs. I was a little surprised that they played Sober. I thought they were shying away from their big radio singles. They did play Opiate for me and that was incredible. I was surprised at how many people didn't know the lyrics. I think the only person within a 15 feet radius from me that knew the lyrics was a Jerry Lawler look-alike. They finished with Lateralus, which had the best "video backdrop" of any of the songs in my opinion. It was a great night and well worth the 250 miles that we drove from Omaha to get to Cedar Rapids, but the crowd was undoubtedly the worst I've ever seen at a concert. I mean, what kind of morons mosh to Disposition/Reflection? If you want to mosh, go beat your head against a wall listening to Limp biskit. Ugh. Some other notes about the night: - Stinkfist had the extra breakdown in the middle. - Before Opiate, Maynard said to the crowd: "I'm really saddened about the way some of you treated Tricky. It would be a real shame if you didn't get to experience them." (I'm still not sure if this was a joke or he was being serious.) - Before Lateralus, Maynard thanked the crowd for coming and then said: "I hope you take the experience for tonight, whether it be negative, whether it be positive, or whether it be very neutral...just take that feeling and in the coming weeks..turn it into something postitive." - Driving back to Omaha today (10/21) we stopped at a truckstop and Tricky was there fueling up their bus and some of the band was walking around buying food. I will definatly be seeing Tool again, hopefully under more sane conditions. (If those two girls, the blonde with the rose tattooed on her neck, and the brunette she was with would contact me, I'd be most grateful)

yeah, man, i'm sure maynard was in a real joking mood when he told the crowd how disappointed he was in how many people treated tricky and his band. i've seen tool two other times and you can truly tell he appreciated the crowd and its reception, but this was a new maynard tonight.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. My fifth tool show, most of them (the shows) that i've seen were in Canada. This show rocked like every other tool show i went to. There were just some things that kind of annoyed me in this particular show. 1) disrespecting the opening acts. Disrespecting a guy like Tricky. He sounded great. some people enjoyed it, but it was only the booing cunts in the crowd that were heard. 2) There are differences between Tool fans and Slipknot fans in Canada. Slipknot fans are loser nerds who are willing to pay upwards of $40 to try and kill each other because they are pimply faced teens with no friends. There was no difference in this show. 3) Tool fans who cry because they cannot believe that they are actually meeting their favourite band are actually Backstreet Boys fans because they are the only band with that kind of fan commitment. I'm sorry if i offended any tool fans in writing this but it was just something that had to be said. Show rocked! Crowd sucked.

i would think that if something is important to you, you wouldn't be a fuck. i don't think it is appropriate to mosh while a live band is trying to play for you, and you're off thinking about the taste of a little blood in you mouth, paying little attention to the reason of your attendance. i don't think it's polite to throw things. seats on the side were very close, and when the bands weren't turned to the floor, they were playing to us. i enjoyed danny's new set. i enjoyed the fact that adam hardly moved. many thanks to tool for coming and filling us with joy. many thanks to tricky for sharing. many thanks to osseus labyrint, and their upper body strength. thanks to my newly acquired friends. no thanks to the maledicts. because i wasted time on this review, you had better shape up for next time.

This was this reviewer's 5th Tool show

I was lucky enough to see Tool 4 times on their North American Tour: Red Rocks, Minneapolis, Chicago, and now CR. To be honest, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to go to this show, since the three shows before it were almost identical. I ended up going because it was only 20 minutes away from where I go to school, and a fraction of the price I paid to see them at Red Rocks. Unfortunately, their show is becoming entirely too predictable for one of the most unpredictable bands around. Don't get me wrong, the show was still INCREDIBLE, but the setlist only included two different songs from the last few times I saw them. I love Tool, but I love ALL of Tool's catalog as well. Why are they ignoring their older music? Are they just sick of playing it and are now taking a break? I hope so because I want to see them play their old shit too. Yeah they played Opiate, and it was cool, but the first time I saw them on Ozzfest they split their set evenly between Opiate, Undertow, and Aenima (3 songs each). Why did they stop doing this? Lateralus is a great album, but that doesn't mean I want to hear 10 songs from it, 2 from Aenima and just 1 from each of Opiate and Undertow. Is it just me? Doesn't this seem ridiculous? Maybe it's only ridiculous because I saw them so many times this tour. I'm hoping they mix it up in the future, as I plan to see them many times more. All in all, I had pretty amzing time moving throught the crowd to rhythym of the music. I held my place at the 3rd to 5th 'row' in the crowd through most of the show. During Opiate I was able to move up until there was only 1 person between me and Tool (not counting the fucking security guards). I didn't think the show was as violent as it was overpacked. It's a small venue, and it was all general admission. I was a little surprised when I found out that they were going to play there. Of course, I was surprised that people actually sat in the second balcony for a general admission Tool show. Top row even. What's going through their heads? I thought the show in Minneapolis was much more violent than this one, especially toward the front of the crowd. I never could have held my ground at 2nd 'row' during that show! I missed Tricky, but I'm sure they were better than most people have been reviewing. I wish I could have seen Fantomas open for Tool, Mike Patton is fucking awesome. I can't believe how close-minded some Tool fans are about other music, especially if it's experimental. How the hell did you get into Tool with an attitude like that? Don't boo the opening band, smoke a bowl and shut your mouth. Awesome show. If you missed it, I hope for your sake you caught another one. Tool is the most amzing band out there, whether on CD or live. Their live show is an artistic experience. They rouse the crowd with intense music instead yelling "get up" or whatever, like every other band out there. They don't lie to us and say "you're the best crowd we've seen all tour." They just get on stage and play their shit. Instead of putting on a fake 'show', they play artistic representations of their songs in the background. They don't miss any opportunity to give you more of their art and talent than you paid for. Maynard tries his best to stay out of any spotlights, and lets the music take center stage. This band is incredible. I hope they never quit making great music, and I also hope they play some older music in the future.

Me and my girlfriend drove all the way from omaha to cedar rapids, and it was well worth it we were a little worried at first because, well...cedar rapids smells like rotting peanut butter and meat smeared with feces...but once we got to the show, everything was better... there were quite a few stupid people at this concert who i'm pretty sure must not have even known who tool was...there were some nasty girls flashing their nasty tits and kissing eachother's nasty mouths...great...we moved away from them... tricky came on stage and they were great, i was very impressed. there were some dumb assholes standing around me with their stupid comments such as "what the hell is this shit?" blah blah blah...nice godsmack shirt asshole...anyway, tricky was great... tool came out and we had to move up to the seats because all the assholes that were drinking their beer a few minutes earlier decided to go crazy and shit their pants because they lost all control of their movement... well, the view was much better from the stands...we didn't actually sit in the seats, we just stood dead center on the balcony, we had a perfect view of everything... tool played perfectly, the visuals were amazing, osseus labyrint was amazing, one of the highlights of the show was triad performed with tricky's drummer...very very powerful, and the naked, hanging, squirming bodies made it even better...all the songs were great and i was in awe the entire time...opiate with tricky was incredible as well, especially the unbelievable yell maynard pulled off at the end... maynard seemed very relaxed and peaceful and his voice sounded wonderful, he even played guitar on a few songs this was by far the most amazing concert i've ever been to and i feel bad for tool for having to deal with such a shitty shitty crowd full of morons...

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

I arrived with my friends at the venue about 6pm. The Cellular biuilding looks way small from the outside. We chatted with a couple of people that had backstage passes, (staff, roadies, A&R managers?) some were very well dressed. Security wasn't that tight (if you call a person looking at you as you pass through the gates). We got our brews and headed for a seat. By this time the floor was covered with people satting down. So we perched ourselves right above the stage on the south side 3rd row. There were alot of older people, mothers, fathers, young teenagers, it was an amazing diversity of ages. Tricky took stage and put his groove on. I remember him being in the movie The Fifth Element but I never really listened to him even though my old roommate did. He was amazing. And of course there were those "fans" that boo'd and yelled obcenities such as,"Tricky sucks my cock". That just made me sick. Those ignorant self minded dellusionalist. The first third of the people on the floor should have been shot . Talk about disrespect. Anyway Tricky was awesome (even though me and my friends wanted Fantomas). So good i am going to buy some tricky albums. After tricky came intermission. The floor was anxious by now. Chicks were flashing their tits and whatnot. They cleared Tricky's gear and Tool's set was soundchecked. The lights went out and the audience went wild. One by one they came on stage. Everyone stood up, even in the seats. We thrashed our bodys and sang along. It was great hearing a mix of songs from Opiate, Undertow, Ænima. It was one of the greatest times in my life. The visuals were great (though looped backwards and fowards most of the time). But then there were a couple of people throwing shit at the stage. 2 beer cups nailed Mr. Jones. The first one he ignored and the second fucked him up so he backed up turned his back and then started playing again. THIS IS TOOL- NOT PANTERA, SO FUCKIN DRINK YOUR BEER!!!! We could see everything. The pedal boards, extra guitars, basses, Danny, Adam, Justin (Though Maynard was not very visable). It was Great. (directions ie: to the left, ect. are to the band members perspective). Adam had a synth to the right of him which was midi'd to a foot pedal board above his other pedal board. He didn't touch it, it was midi'd foot controler (pedal board). Danny had an awesome drum set. And a Sampler of some sort to the left of him at shoulders length. It was used a bit. Justin had no noticable samplers/synths extra. Though he did have one huge pedal board. Lots of displays lit up so it was very hard to distinguish what was what. So i am probably wrong on this. Maynard had a bass/guitar possible both. He was very hard to see to the right of Danny's monstrous kettles of bangage. I WAS LEFT MESMERIZED AND IN AWE. IT LEFT ME BOTH MENTALLY DRAINED AS WELL AS PHYSICALLY. AT THAT POINT I HAD NO WORRIES OR PROBLEMS. IT WAS PURE BLISS AND I NEVER WANTED IT TO STOP. MAYNARD DIDN'T HAVE MUCH TO SAY BESIDES WHAT WAS ALLREADY SAID IN OTHER POST. BUT WITH A BAND LIKE TOOL. THE MUSIC AND THE VISUALS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. I wait 4 years for a tool show to be close to home. I hope they come back. If only they would of dedicated Hooker with a penis to those disrespectful "fans". later, and be safe adam~

I haven't had the opportunity to see a band I was really in to live before, especially here in Cedar Rapids, and I couldn't have been mroe pleased. I'm totally unsure what I think about Tricky. While they sounded like they might have been a good band, I just don't really think they are that great live. The mic on the bass drum was a bit too much, and muffled out everything else so I wasn't sure what I was hearing. After Tricky, we moved up to the balcony, and while I wasn't so sure at the time, I'm very glad we did. The crowd was pretty rough and at any other concert, I would've been there, but Tool is just too much. At times I was totally lost in the music, and I couldn't have had the same experience if while concentrating on pushing back and staying on my feet. The tracklist and visuals, while outstanding, weren't important. Tool could've played any of their songs, could've played without any visuals and would've been just as great. The feeling comes from the sounds the band themselves are able to create -- everything else is icing on the cake. I've read through the reviews of the show and no one seems to think much of the crowd. I didn't really think it was so bad, but then again, I was in the balcony. I think you'll be doing yourself a favor if you choose to do the same at your next Tool concert. People need to keep in mind that the problem isn't the crowd, its a very small number of people in the crowd, and also remember that it's not your place to decide how people should behave during the concert. Sure, pushing and throwing things beyond a certain point is too much, but you can always go elsewhere.

the tool show with tricky has really given me a great show. it was more than i expected, especially when they actually brought out the two people from the "schism" video to do preformance art. some people didnt understand the show when tricky was playing, and complained or mocked that the music wasnt right for the show. i think it was just them being "iowan metal-heads". i thought the music from tricky eminated the mood for the rest of the show and they were just as brilliant as tool, especially for not being metal. tool was, of course, amazing, no rock-n-roll concert cliches like playing guitar with teeth and gyrating or whatnot... they were stationary and powerful. the artwork on screen was inspirational and deep, and it all had underlying messages that anyone can interpret as good. it's the most well- thought out and most entertaining concert i have ever attended. anyone could tell that they really really cared about what they were doing:)

Ah, yes. Having waited so long to see Tool in concert I still can not believe what I experienced last night. I think everyone in their previous reviews put it quite well enough, so I won't waste your time with all that. ... there is one personal experience that I would like to share with all of you. ...I met Adam Jones at Taco Bell before the show! ... it was fucking incredible. It lasted for maybe like 30 seconds, but I tell you, I've never felt my heart beating so hard. I just said something like "you're the greatest guitar player on earth, man. would it be too much if I asked to shake your hand?" ...no reply, he just calmly extended his hand, which I quickly grasped. I told him how I had drove all the way from Moorhead, MN to see the show. "Oh, really..." That was really all he said to me. But just seeing him in person... I'm speechless. I don't know what I was thinking when I sat down to write this "review." I just can't even begin to put into words the feeling I got from just seeing him...

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Set list was given, need not say more. I left home around 4:30 and picked up my two friends, Itzel and Arielle. Im from Moline, IL so it was road trip for me. It was fun on the highway heading west and then making that turn north heading to Cedar Rapids and seeing cars full of Tool fans heading for the show. So we got there, i had a purse with me and they made me take it back so i had to walk all the way up to level 9 where we had to park and then back down again which pissed me off. So we were in line which was long but moving fast. We got to the security guards and they dont even tap u down, i was mad since i wanted to take my camera with but i didnt want to walk the distance again. Lazy ass me, i regret my decision!!! It was GA floor and seats, after reading past reviews on this site i decided it was best to get seats. And boy it was the perfect decision. One thing, didnt u people that fucked around read your tickets? It clearly said No moshing/No Bodysurfing. U sick fucks, thanks for ruining the audience part of the show. U can tell the band was dissapointed. Well, we got some damn good seats. Front row lower bowel seats next to and just above the stage. First off i hope the girl that fainted or whatever right b4 the show started is alright, i saw her being carried away and sorry to all those on the floor not expecting what came to u the rest of the night. Tricky came on and at first i wasnt into them, for one thing their sound is way different, kinda like a reggae rock with some rappish vocal thing once in a while. Not stupid gangsta rap but reggae/rap kinda like Wyclef Jean. They were booed by stupid ignorant fuckers right after their first song but after the second song the crowd realized they werent as bad as i did also and cheered them on song after song. At one point one kid actually bodysurfed. The guy from Tricky kept saying "Thank u very much" after they would finish their songs, all in all Tricky is pretty good. Right when Tricky was getting off stage and the lights came on i noticed this tall slim guy wearing black, loose (not baggy or wide leg but just loose) pants and a sweatshirt with a hood he had over his head coming down the side of the stage right below in front of us. As he was walking down the steps he started taking his hood off and u can see his face and his shiny black/brown hair and it was Adam!!!! I can tell cuz of his lips, his lips just give it away. But stupid me was in shock and no words came out. I regretted that point up until they were gonna go on stage. So they were getting everything set and the lights went low. Everyone in my section, or at least i thought, stood up and started yelling. The crowd went crazy. I looked down below and there was Maynard, Adam, Danny, and Justin. I went balistic and started yelling out Adams name, he turned around looked up,smiled, and waved and that just made my night. Then they headed on stage. They started off with The Grudge, the crowd went wild. I was standing headbanging and dancing to the beat (mostly at the end tho). The girl next to me was going crazy, i give props to her for making the most out of the experience that night. I just didnt have the guts to go that crazy. So they continued on with the show and tho i didnt pay attention to the crowd on the floor much i did catch a few glimpses of them being stupid and moshing and bodysurfing to Tool. Cmon now, wtf is up with that? Oh and what really got me pissed was the throwing of shoes and cups and other shit at the band, that is definitely not cool. Dont u all have respect? They are up there playing and singing their asses off to please us in every way (and Tool, if u read this, i was more than pleased with your performance) and all u can do is throw shit at them? Their performance was awesome, Danny playing his drums with such precisement as if its no challenge and Justin and Adam playing away and Maynard doing his what i like to call "indian dancing". They were great. Adam just stood right there in his corner with not much movement and Justin moved every so often. I noticed that Maynard and Justin kept facing mostly to the back of the stage. I also noticed people in their seats frozen. I would look all over and once in a while u'd see some headbaning dancing bodies but what sucked more is that most people were sitting down. i stood up the whole time and moved to the beat as best as i could if only everyone could really get into it. The band got off stage one time as the cortortionist did their act and like always i would call out their names but no one would look up, which kinda dissapointed me. But at the end Danny and Justin finally looked our way and waved hi. Maynard was the only one not to to wave at us. Seriously, as mentioned b4, they played as if this was their last show. Highligts of the night: Tricky coming out and singing with Tool during Opiate Tricky's drummer doing some drumming along with Danny to Triad (he was crazy!) Tool seeming to enjoy the show (at least to me) Opiate played!!!!!!! Personal Highlights: Danny, Justin, and Adam waving hi Lateralus being the last song played cuz its a fave Dissapointments: Lesbian/titty action (its a rock concert and its expected to happen but cmon that really shows how much respect these girls have for their bodies, save it for Fred Durst or Jonathan Davis, would u please?) No 46&2 or Aenema The "big scandal" of the night, moshing and bodysurfing to Tool Throwing shit on stage To sum it up, the fucks in the audience No camera :( A few notes missed here and there (no biggie but they were missed in noticeable parts of songs especially during sober) All in all this is definitely the best show ive seen. I know i wasnt specific on the songs and the stage show but hey a quick run through: Maynard stands on a raised spot with a screen behind him 2 huge screens in the back displaying the same images on Maynards screen The 2 cortortionists coming out during schism and doing that bent body head swinging thing they do in the video and later on hanging off ropes doing weird body movements Maynard plays guitar during three songs

alright, wow, what a night we get their, find our VIP seats, yea ha, V I P. We get situated in our nice comfy chairs and waited for tricky. personally, i really enjoyed it, maybe its because i used to really like rap or somethin but i thought it was really cool. SO FUCK THE CLOSED MINDED BASTARDS WHO DIDNT LIKE TRICKY, AND FUCK THE GUY WHO LEFT IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE HE COULDNT LITE UP. now, to TOOL. FUCKING AMAZING, i thought madison was going to be the best thing that had ever happened to me but no, this kicked way more ass x 10. i would of liked another t shirt but they must of run out of t shirt ideas cause they all sucked, well at least all the ones with dates on the back. anyways, to the show. i was with a good 6-10 people who had never seen TOOL or even a concert before, what an oppertunity for them. set list rocked, they mixed it up a bit throwin parabol/a in the first half, i liked it. Took stinkfist a bit long with tons more lyrics, some elvis stuf and some white rabbit action. pushit, cant get enough of it, thank you guys for playin it. reflection i missed some, the hot chick next to me lost her seat cause 2 jack asses snuck into our little box area and slid the seats over so they could sit. thus i was left the only one standing in the box, not a bad thing, but it would of been nice to sit down and watch the magic. sober?! never ever heard that before live, kicked ass. FINAL WARNING. never mind that. the patient, we missed that too in madison, deffinitly awesome, one of my favorite new tracks, it kicked. TRIAD WITH TRICKY, ONE OF THE BETTER JAMS OF THE NIGHT, TRICKYS DRUMMER CAN WAIL. OPIATE WITH TRICKY, ALSO KICKED. maynard didnt hold the RAPE YOU as long as up in madison but did not have any negative impact on me at all. tricky rocked in that as well. Lateralus, deffinitly the best new song. best damn concert i will ever witness. dont worry, i was among the many who dislike the white trash throwing shit on the stage, what hte fuck is this, slipknot, come on they were here on thursday, you could of fucked around then. TOOL is to be experienced, not used as a target range. maunard was much more motionful and talkitive, very nice, he had his face painted all pretty too, black. come back soon if you can KEEP IT GOOD AND FINE TO ALL GINAS GOOD NIGHT royce the hot lindale ebys gina happy trails

Last Nights show was incredible. The crowed really sucked. I went with my mom and my friend my mom almost died. people were ignorant. Tricky was amazing aside from the fact that most of there songs were about suicide. to everyone that was booing FUCK YOU, you are ignorant assholes. you give Iowa an extremely bad reputation. But anyway Tool was great. After i got off the floor and went to the balacony I could see the band perfectly. Higlight of the night would have to be either Pushit (almost started to cry) or the Disposition/reflection/triad combo. the visuals were kind of ackward. But it made the concert that much better.

.. i'm finding a difficult time finding words to describe last night. if you were there.. and felt it.. then you know what i mean. .. i orginally wanted to see them from the floor.. and then my husband found great seats right after tricky's set (about a 1/4 way up, dead center).. it couldn't have been more perfect .. after reading some other reviews, i'm glad we went with seats. overall i think it made for a much better show (visually. anyway) i'd recommend it to anyone. unless you're in the first few rows.. it doesn't make sense to watch the show from the floor. if the band wanted you to focus on them, they would be plastered on the screens ...stinkfist.. elvis lyrics oOoOOoooOO ..um.. i especially enjoyed members from tricky playing with tool. the band (maynard specifically) seemed to be really caught up in just making music.... i think the mutual respect the bands seem to share *really* showed in this version of opiate. it made cry. i'm such a sap. it's usually my least favorite song to hear live (because of the maroons who cheer for anything they've heard on the radio).. but holy schmidt .. i had hope to keep this short. i knew i couldn't possibly put those feelings into words. i could go on forever, but i won't

Im very tired but I had to say something about my experience at the TOOL concert in Cedar Rapids, IA. Anyway, I checked into the Five Season Hotel in Cedar Rapids which happens to be connected to the US Cellular Center where TOOL was performing. As I checked in, my sister happen to notice a bald man sitting on the plush couch in the Hotel lobby, and yes it was Maynerd. The man himself. I did not think I would be star struck but, I could not bring myself to approach him. My sister and I kindly went to are Hotel room....with are mouths dropped to the floor. This is my first report so please bare with me if I bore you. Im a big fan of TOOL's not the biggest perhaps but I decided to drive from Minneapolis to IA to see them. IA is not to far, but far enough. So yes I did witness the show in St Paul. I was in the nose bleeds so it was excellent to see them in my hometown. I just wish I was on the floor for the St. Paul, MN event. This is not much of a review. but lets just say I was on the floor at the IA show. And it was fantastic! I even enjoyed Tricky's set. Which I actually got to meet after the show. And I felt comfortable enought to approach him and say "Good show". I did not want to take to much up of his time so left him and went the bar. Anyway back to the show. I was so happy to hear SOBER be performed at the IA show. They did not perform that song in MN. But, they did not perform Aeniama in IA. So between the two concerts my TOOL Tour fantasy has been fullfiled. Highlights to the MN show for me was that they kicked off the Arena tour in MN. But the highlight to the IA show was when Tricky got on stage and sang a little different version of Opiate with the band. All I can say is DAMN!! What a show. What a weekend. I still have a little regret not saying anything to Maynerd but, oh well. He did look very tired. So, Maynerd if you read this; which I doubt you will...anyway..... TOOL is the band, and Maynerd is the man.

well about 2 minutes into Tricky's set, my friend and i got kicked out for smokin pot (were lucky we didnt get charged), so we were pretty much standing outside in an emotional wreck, becuz sumthing as stupid as weed took away our oppritunity to see sumthing as great as Tool... anywayz... we had $75 between the 2 of us, so we shelled out $72 for 2 tickets, and we went inside with hopes that the cop wouldnt see us, cuz if he did, id be in big trouble with the law, so we arrived on the floor right before the grudge started and it was a damn fine show... i was disapponted not to see Tricky, and Maynard reminded me, he also said "i want everyone to be safe when going home and look out for one another... pour me another beer" i guess the drunks were so out of it that they didnt realize that he was blattantly critizing them... they just responed with a "YEEEEEEAHHH!! .. i'm finding a difficult time finding words to describe last night. if you were there.. and felt it.. then you know what i mean. .. i orginally wanted to see them from the floor.. and then my husband found great seats right after tricky's set (about a 1/4 way up, dead center).. it couldn't have been more perfect .. after reading some other reviews, i'm glad we went with seats. overall i think it made for a much better show (visually. anyway) i'd recommend it to anyone. unless you're in the first few rows.. it doesn't make sense to watch the show from the floor. if the band wanted you to focus on them, they would be plastered on the screens ...stinkfist.. elvis lyrics oOoOOoooOO ..um.. i especially enjoyed members from tricky playing with tool. the band (maynard specifically) seemed to be really caught up in just making music.... i think the mutual respect the bands seem to share *really* showed in this version of opiate. it made cry. i'm such a sap. it's usually my least favorite song to hear live (because of the maroons who cheer for anything they've heard on the radio).. but holy schmidt .. i've seen other shows.. were they didn't look this happy to be on stage. i honestly thought they were enjoying themselves. i think people on the floor were more affected by the assholes, than the band. i think maynard 'thanking' pepole (twice) for sharing in the moment and the group hug was a pretty good indication they weren't totally disgusted by morons .. i had hope to keep this short. i knew i couldn't possibly put those feelings into words. i could go on forever, but i won't

This show absolutely fucking rocked!!! I went to the Indy show last month, and in my opinion this show was better. Unfortunately, the crowd sucked. I'm clueless as to why idiots feel the need to throw shit at the band, show tits (sluts), and boo a fucking excellet opening act. TRICKY FUCKING RULES!! I've been a fan of Tricky for years and it blew my mind when I found out that they were opening for TOOL. Tricky is a perfect for an opening act, full of energy and creative just like TOOL. The setlist absolutely kicked ass!!! Sober and Opiate, what more could you ask for?? Oh yeah, Berry(?) Tricky's drummer on Triad and Tricky himself on Opiate.......simply fucking amazing. Thank you for a wonderful experience guys, and keep being creative and expanding our minds.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

I've been a Tool fan ever since Sober came out, and I've never gotten a chance to see them until this weekend....we got there early enough to be about in the middle of the floor area with a reasonable amount of space. (We were about ten feet from the girls making out and flashing initially.) I have no idea how many people showed up, but there were a lot of them....Tricky's set was great--I think his records are okay but his live show is much more energetic and gripping. (P.S. Tricky was the little guy in the yellow shirt--Tricky isn't the band.) Tricky was very loud but the sound wasn't terribly clear (Tricky usually kind of growls and whispers most of the time anyway, he doesn't sing much). Their set was nicely paced, building from very chill triphop to some pretty intense heavy ragga-rock. As a major King Crimson fanatic, I was apprehensive of the crowd's reaction to Tricky, which like KC is not terribly accessible music. KC got booed and cheered equally, from what I understand. Tricky's reception was mostly indifferent. This was a very young crowd chock full of alpha males who didn't care about anything but Tool. (Aside: hearing Soundscapes on the way in was gratifying.) Suddenly in between sets, there were a LOT more people coming in, and they were rowdy fuckers. Kids, you want to mosh, go see Pantera. Tool is mind-expanding music. I knew this going in but I had no idea how explicitly psychedelic Tool is live. If you're running around in a pit looking for somebody to hit and people are jumping up and down on your back, how the fuck can you possibly even pay attention to music when survival is a more pressing issue? That's fucking ridiculous. We went upstairs to get away from the dipshits downstairs. Upstairs there was no energy from the crowd at all, hardly. (More on that later.) It might have had something to do with the fact that were even with the stage and pretty high up--the sound was weird and the view of the stage was skewed. As for the exhibitionism stuff, well, let's just say I've spent some strange nights on Bourbon St. and as far as I'm concerned, as long as you're not hurting anyone, you're alright with me. I didn't think Tool sounded all that different from their records (I usually prefer bands with very loose arrangements, like Crimson or jazz); what made this one of the most amazing show I've ever been to were the visuals. The music sounds totally different when you're looking at these mind-bending things they have going on stage. I was practically having a flashback just watching some of those things. The screen images for Sober I thought were pretty subpar for that group; two naked girls in agony while some tentacle tortures them? I don't see how that plays into Tool's otherwise positive/spiritual/inspirational atmosphere. Other than that, some of the other naked people images were fascinating. I was just stunned when the performance artists from the video for Schism came out. That was bizarre and very cool. And the thing with hanging upside down for easily fifteen minutes or more was just mesmerizing. Tricky's drummer coming out and playing on Triad, Tricky himself adding something or other to Opiate--wow. I had heard Tool had finally done Ticks & Leeches, and I very much wanted to hear that. A friend of mine pointed out that the band seemed concerned about moshing, so they played a very mellow setlist--no 46 & 2, Aenema, Prison Sex, Hooker, or god forbid Ticks. Instead they played more contemplative material, like the entire Triad monster, Pushit, The Patient, and Parabola. The downside to the quieter stuff was that it seemed to take the energy out of the crowd, which is why it was so sedate upstairs. Anyway, The Grudge makes a perfect opener and Lateralus makes a perfect closer. Maynard was dressed in what looked like typical clothing--I always hear about the weird costumes (or lack thereof) he's got. Danny looked like he was pretty into it, but the front line seemed kind of like they weren't really there. Not bored, exactly, maybe just irritated with the moshing cretins. The "take this moment" speech was amazing. The visuals and dancers were beyond words. And the band huddled and hugged at the end of the show--this is moshing music? Give me a break. Anyway, a very enjoyable concert and one which I will definitely catch again the next time they roll around. As a musician, I tend to get involved in technical details at concerts, but tonight I couldn't have cared less about two songs in--I was just pulled into Tool's alien, foreign universe, where maybe something got added to my mind/soul/whatever instead of taken away. Last thing: I guess the band doesn't read these things and I guess it doesn't matter. But for what it's worth, I felt pretty damn inspired by Maynard's words. It's amazing how difficult it is to create compared to the ease of destruction. For example--it's so easy to run in to a mosh pit with the express purpose of punching and elbowing as many people as possible, but how easy is it to make friends with any of those people (even if they weren't violent apes)? How easy is it to (re)discover communication and leave the world better than the way you found it? In these increasingly violent times, we need to remember how to peaceful as well. Selah.

I would like to try to not patronize the band by reviewing their performance, I find that to be rude and it removes the point of the art from their , both audible and visible from the experience. I would just like to say that if there is any person reading this who has not experienced Tool's art in it's live form please for your own sake do whatever it takes (within reason, that is) to go to one at some point in your life. I loved the show and I left it in a much more clear state of mind than I came in (not because of any form of unnatural, chemically induced innebriation). The fact is that somewhere amongst the chaos reaped from the actions of the belidgerant idiots that made up at least 80% of the crowd, the emotionally charged crests and troughs of the music helped me to clear my thoughts and rationally-yet- viscerally think about what is important in my life, some of it made me happy, some of it made me shed tears (I haven't done that because of any mental distress in almost 5 years) but all in all I really couldn't have enjoyed my time spent in the U.S. Cellular Center more. As for those among us who didn't appreciate the musical stylings of Tricky, or thought TOOL was the greatest show since Limp Bizket and Eminem, on the Anger Management Tour in '00 and decided to voice your opinion in lucidious un- called for acts of degenerate, beer swilling, drunken rage(? (against what?, I ask you). I really did not enjoy your meaningless, self absorbed; screaming, booing and item throwing. I am quite sure the members of Tricky didn't and as far as I could tell through his passive stage talk Maynard didn't either. If I were a member of the Tool band I would probably not want to return to perform for the same unapreciative crowd, so keep that in mind the next time you see Tool in Iowa, which I hope is not a lost cause waiting for. If there is any chance any Tool band member might be reading this I apologize for the crowd members who haven't the decency to do it themselves, or lack the ability to do anyting but fret for their late'. P.S. I would also like to apologize for my lyric dropping there but I felt it was appropriate.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

My car ride to iowa was late and i sadly could not attend tricky. I had heard, though, that the crowd was rather rude, anyway. TOOL--nothing can really compare--Started off with the grudge and from there it was a sojourn into rapture and the moment of time. The sound was clear but a little muffled, with all the bass, compared to highend audio systems-- though it was live and i am not complaining, for everything was a wonderful experience except for the crowd. From beerguzzling fuckheads to dumbwomen flashing their breasts i got a real mean and infantile picture of iowa. Maynard even commented on their inability to get with the fluentness of the situation. Something along the lines of "if you cant open your hearts to tricky..." and "do you people want to go home alive today?", responding to the harsh and inebriated behavior of the countless people i doubt extricate any meaning from the band's lyrics at all. The aesthetics of the concert were marvelous, something someone can only experience live. Adam and the rest were also fantastic, especially when into the intensive instrumentals with the tricky drummer--it must have been 15 minutes of simply guitarbdrums and moving pictures as the band deconstructed itself and then came back out for more. The best parts, by my opinion, were the parabol/a combo, the trickyandtool sounds, and lateralis. I do know my lateralus material well but into the intermission i was submerged and coudnt tell this from that. I know opiate was played and i am sure i heard triad; who cares, though, it's all great. Sober was played but i think it was the wrong place to grind that one; people were simply to angry. A complete setlist will ruin the future concerts, as will this review most likely, but the contortionists have to be mentioned. All i will say is get ready for artrock at its extreme and most beautiful. If only the crowd would be less bellicose i and many others could have been concentic with the sound and the atmosphere to unlimited heights. I firmly believe acts like tool need to play in an operastyle setting with people sitting in concert, not waving around crazyhazy like a pack of wolves. All in all it was a harrowing feeling in the dirt and grime of liverock and i will remember it as maynard said to. The moment was lurid and uncommunicably sprititual, it was something i will look back upon. Nineinchnails will probably be the only other to rival tool in concert. Go to see this show. if it does not change your perception of music, you are dumb, simply ignorant to theways of complexity and hurt and compassion of the art. Please see this band, read the lyrics- immerse yourself, let the grudges

Oh my god I don't think words can describe the experience of that show! It was my first TOOL concert but I've been waiting for it since before most Iowains even heard of them. I'm not going to bother with the set list because tons of you have already got it down wrong and a few of you got it right. I was down in the pits between shows (and those girls doing the boob show are my friends so watch what you say :} ) but once TOOL came on I headed to a seat because I didn't want to miss any of it. The lights and screens were unbelieveable, as was all of it. The contortionist (or however it's spelled ) that came on stage and down from the cieling were mesmerizing and I was completely sober! TOOL poured their hearts and souls out up on that stage and I liked to take a moment to remind all the people of Iowa about that. To all you people throwing your beer to them, I don't think they wanted any! Y'all need to learn that if you love the band that much show them some respect. Okay now that I'm done with that : ) Tricky came on stage twice and did drums with the band and sang with them which was an awesome experience, sadly I missed Tricky's set though.I had been waiting years for the chance to see them live and I thought I had myself half way prepared for the impact it would leave but it still just blew me away. Anyone who missed this show I seriously suggest going to the next one. Just to see them in front of you will make you shiver. I'd like to finish by saying this is an experience I know I will never forget and tell my grandchildren about when I'm 80 and wrinkled.

I've travelled from LA to Maine and everywhere in between to see Tool, so it was very special to see them in my home state of Iowa!! It was nice to be home an hour after the show. Thanks Tool & Tricky! Tricky was the best opening act I've seen for Tool yet. It's always cool to experience either version of Pushit-I love them both. I've seen the performance artists three times now and each time they amaze me. It's a great addition to the tour. I appreciated the long set list. I was hoping to hear Ticks & Leeches, but maybe next time. Overall, it was a great show, as always!

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Tool was amazing. I have been to many concerts in my life but never Tool. This concert was by far the best concert I have ever attended, but the worst crowd I have ever seen. First of all the headlining bands don't just hire opening bands as someone to pass the time. They hire the bands because they like their music and want other people to hear them too. Tool hired Tricky because they thought Tricky was very musically talented and because they can go somewhere in the music industry. I can tell ya that Tool didnt hire Tricky so that all the jackass fans can boo them and turn their backs to them. The people who disrespected Tricky also disrespected Tool by doing that. The concert would have been a lot better without you people there. Just because of that I wouldn't be surprised if Tool never shows their face in Iowa again. I know if I were part of the band I would never come here again. These 100 or 200 people gave the whole state a bad name. What the fuck is a matter with you? It is because of you people that whenever we get a good band in the state, they don't want to come back. And what a band to decide to be a dickhead. Why do you people even attend concerts if this is what you do. But back to the concert. Tool is the most amazing band I have ever seen in my life. The timing of all their songs were awesome. Maynard's vocals are the best I have ever heard. All of their songs left me in awe. I was in the front row on the left side and had a clear veiw of everthing that was happening. I have never seen a concert as good as this one, and i think the only was i ever will again is if I see Tool again, and that is probably going to have to be outside the state. But I think I speak for the entire state when I say we owe Tool a huge apology. It would be nice to see that band tour smaller venues more often. But, thank you Tool for coming, from all I have heard, everyone enjoyed the concert as much as I did.

The 7 hour drive to Cedar Rapids was well worth it!!! Of all Tool shows i've been to this one was one of the best.... Tool was just amazing. They always are. After getting my ass kicked several times on the floor from previous shows i thought it would be best to have a seat. I knew maynard would be on the left side so i sat on the right side of the arena...i had such a perfect view (3rd row). I could see maynard, adam, justin, and danny w/out worrying about getting stomped on or some smuck standing in my way. Maynard was wearing a black tee w/ the flamming eye on it..it had a glow to it. It also look like he had part of his face painted blue. it was hard to tell cuz he was in the dark. I was a little dissapointed that they didn't play 46&2, prison sex, or Aenima. i thought they might replace them w/ some other songs but Triad was the only new one. and let me tell you, they rocked on that song. tricky's drummer and danny were just awesome. oh and maynard was on the guitar for quite awhile. Tricky was interesting. i really didn't know what to expect. I really couldn't understand much of the lyrics though. they didn't get the respect they deserved. i mean any band that tool thinks is good enough to open for them automatically gains my respect....wether i go out and buy their cd the next day or not. tricky came out and sang during Opiate. once again i couldn't quite understand what he said. i have some theories but nothing concrete. if anyone knows what he was saying please email me and fill me in. anyways, the show rocked and i can't wait til another opportunity comes along for me to see them again.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. I got tickets from a person who won them at work and didn't know who Tool is. Anyway, I went because I heard a few of their songs on the radio over the years and they were free VIP tickets. So, I got a pretty good view. Before Tool was on stage, there were several attractive women lifting their shirts showing their breasts. As mentioned, there were two hot women making out and showing their breasts for all to see (several times). There was even a spot light on one blonde babe to show her breast, which in turn she did. Since this was my first time seeing Tool live, all I can say is the big screen videos can only be described as one of two things: Either the videos are suppose to represent someone going insane or else a bad drug trip (I mean really bad drug trip). The videos just kept repeating the same bizarre scenes over and over. Some people had no faces in the videos. I was actually glad I hadn't taken any drugs before the show, because I probably would have checked myself into the psych ward afterwards. The person I was with found the videos interesting to say the least. She thought maybe they are suppose to give the apperaance of brain washing one's mind. I don't know Tool well enough to know what they are all about, but the videos were just plain bizarre to say the least. Someone asked if the two "painted people" were naked or wearing skin suits, I can tell you they were indeed naked. I could see the woman's puss in plain view as she walked around on her hand's and knees. At first I thought both were women (I thought the one had an ugly but, which turns out was a guy). When the two were hanging from the ceiling later on, you could see the guy's dick flopping around as well. I was suprised to see naked people on stage. As far as the audience goes, there was the usual slam dancing. But I didn't see a single fight break out. One thing I will hand to that type of dancing is they do follow rules. I didn't see anyone throw an arm above shoulder height. The view I had of the slam dancing was almost more fun to watch than the band. I was up and could see all the people on the floor break into little groups to slam. It was intense on the floor, but I didn't see any fights. There were a few times when the audience was pushed and it literally looked like watching water ripple on the main floor. I was expecting to hear that people got hurt, but I guess they didn't. The one song that I wanted to hear was the one they didn't play. I wanted to hear Prison Sex, but that was left out. Also, Tool didn't do any encores. They played for 2 1/2 hours straight and then quit. Another thing I found interesting is they didn't introduce the individual members as most bands do. So, they finished, threw water bottles and frisbies to the audience, then left. Then the lights came up and I was suprised there was no encore. Anyway, I don't know Tool well enough to know if this is how they normally end a show. Also, the set up was different from other bands I've seen. The guitarist and bassist were in the front on each side fo the stage while the lead singer was "hiding" towards the back of the stage. He spent a lot of time singing with his back to the audience watching the videos on a mini screen. I never was able to get a good look at his face. Despite all the negative things I've said, it was a great concert. Again, I'm not a huge fan so I don't know enough about the band to review their performance. I decided to find out more about Tool after the concert (such as visiting this website).

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

As you can see for yourself, this was the 2nd tool show I've seen (both from this tour). The first was in Madison, a mere hour and a half from my home in Milwaukee. Needless to say, it was amazing and life-changing enough for me to make the 8 hour trek to Iowa to see them again. I've learned that Iowa is a strange place, but that's besides the point. This concert was outstanding. I might even say it topped the Madison show. Triad was one of those great surprises that make going to concerts worthwhile, what with the sheer intensity of the audio and video and the great interaction between Danny and Tricky's drummer. And I was definitely captivated by Tricky. It was different than most of the stuff I listen to, but I'm constantly trying to expand my music collection and will be giving Tricky's CD's a serious look in the near future. By the way, did anyone else happen to think that Tricky's guitar player looked like Billy's right-hand man from A Perfect Circle? I can't think of his name off of the top of my head, but he looked familiar. OK, besides all of this I must get negative. If I only had positive things to say about the concert I wouldn't even have bothered to write this review because you don't need me to tell you how much of an experience Tool is live. This concert has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I question now whether I will even bother going to many concerts anymore. If I do, I will head straight to the seats from now on. This was not the most intense crowd I've ever been in (I would have to give that honor to the Deftones show I saw in Milwaukee - it was a GOOD intense, though). It was, however, certainly the most sickening. Tricky was greeted with a large number of boo's and chants from the crowd of "TOOL, TOOL, TOOL!". I might be able to let that slide as some people might have been drinking a little too much and really didn't like that kind of music. I however, was dancing and shouting my full approval to Tricky. The real horror bagan when the lights came back up and NO ONE WAS ON STAGE! Immediately my lungs were crushed and I was fighting to breathe. Several guys BIGGER than me (I'm a runt) were asking to be pulled out long before Tool even hit the stage. There was a fight off to the side that a security guard went to check out. He came back saying that both guys were on the groud (by the way, I was only 1 body back from the rail to give you an idea of how close I was). Now, I've heard that someone had a seizure, so I may be confusing some of this with that incident, but that was an isolated thing. There was plenty of other stuff going on that I'm concerned with. I like boobies as much as the next guy, and I must admit that some of the first concerts I went to I oogled plenty. But it really does get old. ESPECIALLY when you're at a Tricky/Tool concert. Pointless nudity shouldn't even enter into the equation. Shoot, even if I WANTED to check the action out, I wouldn't have been able to twist myself around far enough to take a peek. I was too smooshed! When the concert began, I found myself eating the back of some guy's neck and in constant fear of falling over. After the second song (Stinkfist) I'd had enough. I jumped as high as I could manage and pushed off of the bodies around me in order to get out of there. I headed up to the balcony, got a clear view of the stage, and enjoyed the rest of the show by myself in safety (obviously I got separated from my concert-going companions). As great as it was from up there, I felt CHEATED that I couldn't have a closer spot to watch from. No matter how great a band plays, you will never feel as connected to them from a distance as you are when you can actually see their faces. The Madison show I saw had a much more even-tempered crowd, and being closer at that show left me so astonished that I spent the first half of the set with my jaw on the floor (I was probably drooling, too). I was hoping to recreate that experience, but was disappointed. I'm not asking everyone to change their habits at a concert, I'm just hoping that those who DO like to go hog-wild (even at a Tool concert) can be a little more considerate of everyone else who paid $40 for the same show. This is not YOUR show, guys. It is ALL of ours. We all paid the same amount and some of us even drove great distances to be there. The arena is ours to SHARE, and therefore there should be some sort of compromise. It is not a competition, or survival-of-the- fittest. Well, at least it SHOULDN'T be. Maybe I just need to get in better shape to be able to withstand that environment, but I think it sounds pretty silly if I said my only reason for pumping iron was to be able to enjoy the concerts I go to. If anything, all of you who like to beat the shit out of each other should do so in the back of the place. You're not watching what's going on on-stage anyway. Myself and many others, on the other hand, are trying DESPERATELY to do so. I saw the Pledge of Allegiance show a little while ago in Madison, and was going only to see Mudvayne and System of a Down (too bad Mudvayne dropped off...). I would have to liken what I saw from the balcony at the Iowa Tool show to what I saw at the POA show when Slipknot was on stage. Utter insanity. No offense to Slipknot or anything (who I really don't care much for, but God bless 'em anyway), but I really didn't expect the same people at their shows to be at a Tool concert. Maybe it's just an Iowa thing... I'm sorry if I sound like I'm on a soapbox, but I had to vent. People are being physically hurt at a concert where open hearts and minds should be the priority. Shoot, Tool even posted signs around the venue that said they discourage moshing. But even without those, I think they've made their stance on the subject pretty clear. I guess some people just aren't listening. Tell me, if all of you guys are such big Tool fans, then why don't you respect their ideas and wishes?

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

My friend Tony and I drove to Cedar Rapids from Omaha, NE. We woke up pretty early on Saturday and spent some time getting ready and waiting and things like that...finally departing around 1:00. The drive was alright, although I felt pretty restless driving most of the way. I was really eager to see Tool and my body didn't want to sit in a car driving for four hours, especially without cruise control. We didn't really have any trouble finding our way there, and when we finally got to the Super 8 Motel I'd reserved for us (about 5:30 PM) , we were very happy. We hurried up and unpacked and gathered all the things we might need: lsd, marijuana, binoculars, visine, chapstick, etc. I changed from my long sleeve shirt to my "Bob" shirt thinking it would be too hot in the arena (which it was once everything got going). We made our way to the Cellular Center, looking at all of the other Tool fans driving in the same direction. Upon arrival to the parking lot we dosed and went to the line, which lasted kinda long but not even a fraction of the Red Rocks line. After we finally made it up there to get searched, the security guards told me i had to put my wallet chain away (which I thought was so short it wouldn't matter) and I went all the way back up the parking lot to put it away. When I got back, Tony and I got some water and found some seats. They were damn good seats too, I could see the band great and there weren't any huge assholes too close to us. We waited for what seemed like hours and hours while really annoying slow heavy metal with growling vocals played over the PA and people occasionally cheered, getting our hopes up that someone would get on stage. FINALLY Tricky made it on stage, and I must say I was blown away. I was expecting a tolerable performance...pretty good at best, but they completely blew those expectations away. Between their songs I could hear drunk idiots booing Tricky, but luckily their voices were quickly drowned out by the music, which was awesome. After their set, I realized I really had to piss, and made the journey to the bathroom. I damn near couldn't find our seats again, they make those auditoriums so confusing and it was hard navigating through all those people. Just as I was about to give up, I somehow wandered back to an area where I could see our seats, and returned. Along the way I saw people getting busted and things like that, which always brings the experience down. We waited for another eternity for Tool, and when they finally came on, and it was just plain orgasmic. They opened with the Grudge as usual, then went to ions then stinkfist with the elvis lyrics and extended drum part, then Parabol and Parabola. This time I was able to hear parabol easily without any drunk bitches screaming in my ear. Definately a plus. Next was sober, then disposition/reflection/osseus labyrint/triad. Tricky's drummer I think played drums for Triad, which was a wonderful surprise. They played all of the songs great and added a lot of extra little bits and pieces that really put a lot of spice in the music. Maynard said some inspirational things, talking about how we're all here to help each other out and things like that. Most of the show in the back of my mind I was thinking "how the fuck am I going to drive home like this?" (tripping too hard). When Maynard said something about getting home safely and how important it was that we help each other, etc. it really made me feel more comfortable. Next was the Patient, then Opiate with Tricky. Tricky sang some new lines on the part where it builds up to the climax at the end ("I believe in myself"?). Finally they all got in a circle around danny's drums, Maynard recited his usual speech about creating something positive, and they played Lateralus. The whole show was a very beautiful thing, and much less of the drunk obnoxiousness came into my field of perception, probably because my eyes were glued to the stage/screens most of the time and my ears/body to the music. Even hearing songs of theirs that I've thought about all the time, seeing them live would make me think about their meanings and reinterpret them again. Well after the show we made our way up to the car, and once in the car did not really know what to do. We knew it would take forever to pull out and also kinda wanted to hang around and talk to people so we decided to wander around a little bit, and while in the middle of that, someone from a car called to me asking for a drink of my water. I gave him some and he told me he recognized "bob" and we got into a good conversation. It felt good to meet a cool guy like that at a concert out in the middle of nowhere when most of the people seemed like typical obnoxious metal heads. Coincidentally he had friends in Omaha and he even knew the area. Eventually we went back to the car and decided to try making a move. Everything was going OK until we left the parking lot, we got completely mixed up. We were tripping balls in the middle of nowhere, with our minds blown by an amazing show, trying to read some directions to a motel in the dark and drive at the same time. We eventually pulled over, thought about it, drove around some more, had some close calls, and eventually found our way back to the interstate and back to the motel. Upon returning I felt we had really accomplished something. We really had to put our heads together and think. We spent the rest of the night listening to music, eating snacks, looking at art in books (tim leary/subgenius stuff), and watching music synchronize with TV (mostly secret chiefs 3 with cartoons). The next morning we got up, ate, and left and the car ride was much more relaxing than on the way there. Unfortunately, or maybe more ironically, I got a flat about 20 minutes walking distance from my house. We walked home and my dad called my brother and he showed me how to change tires. Overall it was a damn amazing trip and it makes me incredibly eager to travel to see shows again.

This was this reviewer's 3rd Tool show

I just wanted to make a few comments concerning some (well, a lot) of the reviews that have been posted so far. Reading those, you didn't have to be at the show to realize that there were quite a few assholes in the crowd. I personally didn't appreciate some fucko slamming into me every 30 seconds from a mosh pit, nor did I appreciate the girls flashing their boobs, which in turn made some teenage boy horny and decide that he could grab my ass and crotch when Tool came on (by the way, I hope that you enjoyed the elbow to your ribs). But despite all the unnecessary shit going down, I hope that it didn't ruin your experience of Tool. And instead of focusing on all of the negative things, like "someone in the crowd did this" or "Tool didn't play this song", we should all appreciate the great experiences from this show. Tool was simply AMAZING...this is the 3rd time I have seen them this year. The first time that I saw them was during the Chicago pre-tour. It was my first Tool experience, and my life was forever changed. I was so in awe for the first time, I could barely do anything but stand there with my mouth open. The venue was so cool, it was really small and personal. If you've seen the set list for that show, you know that is was an unbelievable show. It was only 2 days after the realease of Lateralus, so I didn't know the new songs too well, but that was a fickle matter. By the way, big props to the people doing the lights and the graphics, it completely blew my mind. The next show I saw was in Indianapolis, and I must say that an 8 hour drive has never been so deserved. We had great seats, directly behind the sound/light/visual crew, so it was really cool to watch them go to work and put the show together, while at the same time taking in the music, and then add the performance by Osseus Labyrint...again, it was a mind blowing experience. So now Tool comes and visits my home state, I was so excited to get the opportunity to see them again. I really appreciate Tool stopping through Iowa, it really means a lot when a band is willing to stop somewhere besides Chicago or some other huge city. The show was amazing. I regretfully only caught the last part of Tricky, but from what I heard, I was very impressed. They have a really unique style, and sometimes unique isn't good, but in this case, it was awesome. As for Tool, the third time was the charm. There were some new graphics, which were incredible. I felt like the band was really into the music, especially Danny and Maynard. You could almost feel the music from the way Maynard was moving his body, it was just an incredible experience and the drumming was so energetic, especially during Triad. Thanks to TOOL and all their crew for putting together an amazing show that will never be forgotten.
