I saw Tool at The Ritz in Raliegh North Carolina in 1993. Needless to say this show was bigger and better. The setlist was great. I don't have the specifics, but I'm sure someone will. The visuals were most impressive, and the stage was beautiful. Nothing, and I mean nothing compares to a gigantic disco ball. Oh yeah, and the boys put on a groove that got my girlfriend nice and horny. Thanks guys.

If that was the setlist , I will personall drive over to you right now and make my girlfriend go down on you for as long you want. And beleive me when I tell you, she is hot. Ask anyone about the 19-year old blond girl in the front row at last night night's show with her tits pressed up against the railing practically hanging out. If you are not jokeing, then neihter am I. No joke, no games, no lies. HOWEVER, THERE IS A CATCH: If you are lying, you gotta do 2 small things for me: First, Suck my dick while I take a shit. Not too too bad, right? Cool. And then, though, you gotta toss my salad directly after I drop a smoky hot steamer on your chest. You tell me it's a deal, then it's a deal. You name the hotel room, and I'll be there in an hour.

setlist (out of order with probably at least one song missing) sober stinkfist aenema h schism grudge parabol parabola disposition reflection triad lateralus just got back from tool in augusta. this was my second show, the first being at manchester a couple months ago. this time i had the oppurtunity of being on the floor. if you ever get the chance, do it. in manchester i had a good straight on view, but there is so much energy on the floor. i got there about 6:45 and got in without a problem. i was supposed to meet a friend from school there but couldnt find him so i hung with some other people from school. the crowd was alright, after some early moshing on sober they seemed to calm down at least where i was. Meshuggah was also pretty cool, much better (and more coherent) than Tomahawk. After about 45 minutes of them playing and a half hour intermission Tool came out and busted into Sober, moshing ensued. other than that it was pretty calm in terms of moshing. after a couple songs maynard welcomed us, it got a good response but he taunted us by saying Lewiston was louder. they teased 3rd eye with the leary sample, i was hoping for that a lot. also wanted to hear at least one older song, maybe cold and ugly. but as the stones say you can't always get what you want. sound wise it wasnt top notch either. i couldnt hear maynard that well sometimes. despite these gripes it was a hella cool time. hopefully theyll make it to the outpost of maine again within the next couple years. i had a great time. i wont say "Maynard justin adam and danny are gods", just that they put on a cool show. see you next time.

I saw tool a year ago in Portland 9-21-01 and I thoughtr that they were better then. Don't get me wrong, tonight 's show was excellent and the set list was good ( no 46-2 though ) but Portland was better. Messuggah sucked ass. Hows there guys got this gig is beyond me. I, and the people around me, could not wait for them to get off the stage.

This was this reviewer's 4th Tool show

tonight was my 4th time seeing each band, and it was quite possibly the best time seeing either of them. every time i have seen meshuggah, i have been dazzled by their technical proficiency, but their sound was always lacking. tonight, aside from a slight echo the venue created due to a suspended ceiling (likewise with tool), their sound was excellent, and of course they were tight as hell, and just went off. sadly, like every other opening act i have ever seen for tool, there were a few idiot fans who were booing and yelling for them to get off the stage. assholes. they opened with the excellent "sane", played my favorite "new millenium cyanide christ", "rational gaze", probally 4 others, and then closed with "closed eye visuals" and then "future breed machine". aside from a very standard set list (no 4 degrees, no 46&2, no commando, no third eye, no cold and ugly, grrrr!!!) which was nearly identical to the manchester show in august, tool was PERFECT. their sound was the best i have ever heard and they performance was top notch. the more i see them the more i really respect their live show. maynard seemed to be really into it tonight, doing his trademark contortions a lot more than previous times i have seen them. the addition of the little timothy leary clip was nice. im pretty sure the set list was the following: (intro) sober the grudge (ions) stinkfist h schism parabol/a aenima (intermission) disposition reflection triad lateralus if anyone can remember the full meshuggah set list, please post it.

I must say..............what an incredible show! This was the first tool concert for my twin brother and I must say that I was totally overwhelmed and comsumed. Messuggah sucked a big fat one though, I couldn't wait for the serial screamer to get off the stage. I was on the floor, 10 bodies back from the stage, and when tool came on everyone went nuts, and I was devoured by this huge wave of people. The stage was awesome, the lights dazzling, and the music incredible. If tool gets within a 500 mile radius, I'll be there.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

Holy shit.. First things first... Holy fucking shit! If (and this is a big IF) I had ANY doubt that Tool was by far the greatest band around.. This concert cleared up any of that would-be confusion. Anyhow oh man.. When we got there.. it was drizzling a bit.. and we waited in a pretty long ass line in front of the Civic Center for about a half an hour... We get inside.. and they have sit on the floor.. We get seated next to this big guy.. who yelled "SIT THE FUCK DOWN" at everyone who came in... funny shit! Then we got to stand up.. and after a bit of waiting.. Meshuggah took the stage and started up one hell of an opening.. I know some people have been dissing them and stuff, but they were highly energetic.. their lead singer had the funny look on his face the entire time.. like he was possessed.. muhaha.. Standing up front and being tall does have it's advantages.. For most of it.. I was only 3 bodies back from the stage.. what an incredible experience to say the least :) About half way through their set.. they decided to thank a few people.. guys with REALLY big dicks... One of the those people being Maynard.. another Danny... another Adam.. and fucking Justin.. he's got a REALLY fucking big one.. Funny stuff.. So Meshuggah got off the stage and there was a bit of an intermission between them and Tool... but oh man.. when Tool came out.. the crowd was just incredible.. even though Maynard picked on Augusta a little and said that the Lewiston crowd was a bit better.. hehe And now the amazing setlist with my thoughts Intro.. Lateralus circle on the screens.. just an incredible feeling.. hmmm Sober.. Once they kicked into that.. oh man.. I could hardly breathe in the front.. it was just too overwhelming.. so I had to back off and get out off the floor for a second at the end.. I wasn't expecting that at all... The Grudge- So I stood out for most of the Grudge unfortunately.. It's such a beautiful song.. but taking a breather was definitely worth it.. *sigh* Ions - Came back in around the middle of Ions and my way back to the front for some more abuse .. muhaha Stinkfist (EXTENDED) - One of my FAVORITE songs of the concert.. They hit everything perfect... and the instrumental extended middle of the song.. just amazing.. H - Another incredible song.. I don't know why.. but it sounded so beautiful live.. Schism - I was practically dead during Schism.. I was kinda sick of this song after it got completely played out on the radio.. but the live set definitely rejuvenated the song to the greatest it is! Timothy Leary sample... think for yourself.. question authority... OH MAN.. I thought it was Third Eye.. and I nearly went crazy!! But yet.. it just happened to be Parabol/Parabola - Might have not been Third Eye.. but it was damn close enough.. the Parabola balls came down and started to spin around.. great stuff man :) Ænema - Another of my favorites from the concert.. The crowd got so into it.. I'm praying for rain.. praying for tidal waves.. wow... -Intermission- = Another breather DRT - These three songs.... They all could be combined into one big novel of a song.. It was so beautiful in person.. Maynard playing on the headless guitar throughout the songs.. the drummer from Meshuggah came out to help on Triad.. Reflection was the #1 highlight for me.. You could nearly cry from the emotion.. Maynard stared to talk to the crowd after Triad was over.. his talk about going home.... write some poetry.. and then masterbate until you pass out :) haha.. Classic Maynard.. I know Maynard must really like Maine from all of his Lewiston references and what not... LATERALUS - The last song of the concert.. Like people have said.. an incredible way to end the concert.. such a great song.. I was kinda sad when we got to it though.. the time seemed to fly by... Anyhow.. I know I've written a book here.. so some finally thoughts.. -Wow -I got the shit kicked out of me.. I still have the fucking footprints on my back.... -It has to be the most incredible experiences I have ever been a part of.. Tool is by far the most incredible band ever.. Their music defines the word melodic.. Beauty and reality.. Anyhow.. Time to sign off.. I gotta finish writting my poetry so I can start masturbating so I can finally pass out ;-) Peace everyone -JimmyHo

Oct 26, 2002 - I've read some of the reviews for this show. The setlist wasn't the same. The reviews must be from last year. Anyway.....This was my first TOOL show...and it was amazing!! They played everything almost exactly like the albums. I was hoping they would play 'Sober'. I wasn't disappointed. It was the first song they played. Unfortunately, I was getting crushed up front, so I got out. I stood at the back after that, and watched in awe, at Danny Carey. I play drums, and he is my biggest inspiration. God, he's unbelievable! These guys are freakin' awesome!! I can't wait to see them again!

i dont know what to say, well.. i can sum it up in one word.. no... two words... fucking amazing. Tonight i saw my fifth TOOL show, and although the setlist was exactly the same as the show i saw last night in Amherst, i was blown away yet again. Setlist: Sober The Grudge (-)ions Stinkfist h. Schism Parabol Parabola Aenema -------------INTERMISSION---------------- Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus Great show, amazing sound, amazing atmoshpere... this was just an amazing night. *note*- this is for the people that dont have any understanding of what Tool's about.. and i could see there was a lot of you there tonight. next time theres a tool show, dont go, leave the ticket for somone who actually enjoys listening to the music instead of moshing to it. half the people i saw tonight were drunk off their ass or stoned out of their mind... which isnt a bad thing in general, but if you actually enjoy the bands music and you're going for the experience then save it for another time. i'm just sick of the people who mosh during Disposition and Reflection, and go to the show just to pass time, and then it turns out they're the ones catching one of Danny's sticks or another piece of memorabilia thrown by the band. If all you want to do is get drunk and mosh then go see slipknot, just dont pretend to be a Tool fan.

I've just recently started going to concerts, I went to ozzfest this year and im trying to see as many bands as i can live. So out of the few bands I've seen, I'd say Tool puts on the best live show. Some of the images on the screens were fantastic. I saw some pretty creepy stuff and thats definitely good. I'm just starting to get into tool and only know about 11 songs pretty well, but im definitely going to find out as much as I can about them after seeing them live. Maynard is fucking fantastic, the way he moves and talks to the crowd. Hes fucking hilarious, I went home and did just what he said....Masturbate and write poetry. HA! I hear what that guys saying about moshing too, I like a good bit of moshing, and theres a few points where its really great to mosh to tool, but poeple gotta learn you dont mosh to slow parts and you cant mosh all the time. Take a breather. The set was justr incredible, With all those forms of the body and the floating balls during Parabola. That shit was great. And the vidscreen freaked me out a couple times. Overall this was a fantastic show. Penis pumps for everyone.

Let's see where do I begin. I saw Tool in Manchester in August and it was an incredible show. I loved it and was looking forward to this show for quite some time. It was a great show don't get me wrong, but they played the exact same setlist that they played in Machester, all except for Aenima in the place of Opiate. I just wish they would've played something a little different (like 46&2 which I know they'll play monday in Mass.). The band was great as usual and the crowd was definitely feeling them. Maynard stayed fully clothed tonight for a change and was sporting a Trent Reznor like leather getup. (Should've busted out the wig and rubber tits) He only spoke to us on a couple occasions; once to tell us that they thought Lewiston was louder and ensure us that we had time to change that, and the other right before they played Lateralus he told us to go home and sit in front of a fire, write some poetry, and masturbate til we pass out. But I had to write this review first. Anyways, it was a great show and I'd like to thank Tool for their music and can't wait to see them again............... If anyone has this show recorded I am extremely interested so e-mail me and we'll what we can do............ kill_limpbizkit420@hotmail.com Think For Yourself ---------------- Question Authority---------- ------ Dare To Be Different---------Strive To Be Unique ------

First off, you don't need me to tell you the setlist because if they played poly-wally-doodle all-the-night it would have been jawdropping brilliant Second, I think it is fare that I (we) Thank the band for THEIR support of a state that only gets good shows a couple times a year. (That is in return for your thanks to us during the show) (Agusta Civic Center Sucks though, go back to Portland next time.) And lastly, I just picked my jaw up off the floor 15 mins ago. absolutly incredible. It was my 3rd Tool concert (should be 5, no time to explain) and it is in its own world of just plain amazing. THIS BAND MAKES EVERY OTHER BAND LOOK LIKE A FUCKING PUPPET SHOW. Triad blew me away! messuggah made it just that much more appealing. I swear Danny is not human, he must have 6 frigging arms, and if he is No one plays the d's like he does. I don't know what else to say. If you have not seen the "inside of the outside tour" please go to your local ticketmaster and support the band. --and warning this is not a band for slamdancingmoshamaniacs, you are just making yourself look like fucking morons in front of a group of artists who have more power to their true fans through every lyric, cord, beat, and visual, than moving morons to break bodies and ruin other peoples experience. go to slipknot. I'll make weapons out of MY imperfections (TOOL - 91) THANKS Danny, Adam, Maynard, Justin, Kabir

Excellent show!!! Sound was better than the night before, probably because of the arena, which was extremely tiny. They were very tight tonight and Maynard said a few different things. He told us that he thought that Lewiston beat us out. After Triad he thanked Meshuggah and then said something to the effect of "Check out Meshuggah's new web site. They just got it up and are offering new personalized penis pumps. Small, very small.........and extremely small." Then he told us that he hoped that "Tool has been some kind of inspiration, and also made us extremely horny, and to go home, make a fire, write poetry, and masterbate till we passed out." Then he said, " Have a good masterbate and we'll see you on the other side." Please please please contact me if you recorded the show, my email adress is above. how is it you people go to multiple shows a tour to see the same setlists everytime? how boring. once an album should be enough.. theyre robbing you. You pay an absurd amount of money just in hopes they play Third Eye.. and they tease you everynight with that Leary sample. And how much did you pay for a T-Shirt? 25? 30 bucks? what a bunch of fuckin rock stars. Go see a real band like The Disco Biscuits. Ps- The first time i seen Tool was in Fitchburg Mass and they played Third Eye. Its been downhill since then at Tool shows.

well, i've never seen so many stupid people in my life. i've seen Tool 4 times now and the civic center was absolutely the worst vevue ever. it was was too crowded, filled with hicks and people who had no idea who Tool was. The setlist was rather boring, nothing special about it at all. i thought for sure they were going to play Third Eye with that timothy leary bit but they didn't. I'll give Maynard credit, he was pretty into tonight which was good. It was a good show but i've seen better.

This was this reviewer's 3rd Tool show

I would like to start off by saying that this should have been my fourth show, but, unfortunately I had to miss the Manchester show for employment reasons. That aside, The show was very, very tight. TOOL employed some new stage lighting and special features which truly made the "concert" a "show". I have been an avid TOOL fan since I was 16 and the shows have just become more and more elaborate as the band has matured and grown. TOOL is no longer a band for troglodytes to gather in front of and pound each other mercilessly into oblivion, as they have previously been pigeon-holed. They have transcended that stigma. TOOL is now a movement, a following, an event in which you find things about yourself and others when you go. I most liken them to early-to-mid seventies PINK FLOYD. Intricate visuals, thought provoking extended music, but decidedly different in sound. Although TOOL will never shed the trog- hanger on's, the venues will never be void of pot smoke or drunken imbecile's, do not shy away from coming out to experience true magik.TOOL has something to show everyone about themselves, either through sound, vision or reflection. Come and find out what your life can be like once YOU come around full circle. Now, on a strictly show related rant, the show was amazing, the sound was incredidle (for those of you who complain about it being aweful, try wearing ear plugs. They filter out ambient static and impurities in the sound as well as save on your ear-drums!) The band played with pheonomenal expertise and were/are extremely professional. The venue was of a very conservative design (square) and clashed with the bands geometric visuals and ideas, but there wasn't a bad seat in the house. Very intimate. Shed the stigma, and come find yourself. *Note: Although I am a very dedicated fan, I do not endorse the occult or ritual magik in any way. Although those types of undertones go hand-in-hand with a TOOL show, I choose to look at what the music has to offer me and internalize it for myself. The idea is to "Think For Yourself" and "Question any and all things". I'm sorry if my statements made earlier led people to question or wonder about my intentions. ~Bill

Dear Tool, Please play the Salival version of Push It and/or Eulogy when you come to Beaumont, TX. You guys are already too great for me to describe but if you play those songs I will love you for more than forever. The Gapping Lotus Experience would be cool also but if that is too much to ask I understand. Thanks for your time, Lance Lyon P.S. I know it will never happen but it would really kick ass if you guys played a cover of "Vacant" as well. I missed APC playing it and I bet Tool could do it even better. I know Tool and APC are completly different thing but if Tool can cover The Ramones I bet they can cover Tapeworm.

If you had been to the Amherst show on Friday, you would have nothing but great things to say about the Augusta crowd. I live in Amherst, and it was great to be a 15 minute walk from a Tool show, but I know a thing or two about UMass crowds, so I had gotten Augusta tickets the day they went on sale. The 3+ hour drive was more than worth it. Most of the UMass (and Amherst Coll., Smith, Mt. Holyoke, Hampshire, etc.) kids sauntered in at about 7:45 for the 7:30 show and just stood there like they were doing Tool a favor by gracing them with their presence. The floor was a joke. It was a huge relief to get to the Augusta Civic Center at 6 for the 7:30 show and to see that maybe 75% of the crowd was already there. Everyone was cool, and the floor was intense. Active, with no out-of-control moshing. I really like Meshuggah, and everyone around me seemed to be really into them as well. As a girl, I am sometimes annoyed when all the other girls on the floor are being sheltered by over-protective boyfriends (like in Amherst). Not the case in Augusta. Thanks, Maine people. The setlist was exactly the same between both shows, but you guys made the second show 4 trillion times better. L.

Stop complaining about the setlist. Yes, the setlists are similar to last year's, but, um, they haven't put out a new album since Lateralus, so it's obviously a Lateralus tour because it's not like they would promoting Aenima, Undertow, or Opiate, right? Therefore, you're gonna get Lateralus songs! And stop waiting for them to play Third Eye!!! You'd think you would have figured out that they're not going to by now! About getting "robbed" by Tool for expensive t-shirts and identical setlists-- people bought the tix and t-shirts on their own freewill. It's their own fault that they wasted money if they didn't think it was really worth it. Whether it's the same setlist or not, they still put on a kickass show every time. Anyway... My first show was last year at the Tweeter Center and the setlist actually wasn't very much like the ones they've been playing recently (from what I remember)... Now that I think about it, the only song I really remember was Pushit cuz it was fuckin awesome but anyway, I've seen them twice for the 2002 tour, Manchester and Augusta, and although the setlists were almost the same, they played really well both times. Last night though at the Augusta show, they fuckin rocked. Maynard actually chatted with the crowd! I was a little upset about his abundance of clothing (no Speedos last night kids!) but otherwise he made me even more obsessed with the band than before... which is pretty unhealthy. Oh yeah. Suck my balls if you got yourself too fucked up to even see all of Tool. You can also suck 'em if you were one of the assholes who started leaving during Lateralis. That's fuckin' rude to the fans and most of all, Tool.

The sights on the big screens where so crazy it leaves your head ready to explode. and Maynard"s voice is still in my head. When i close my eyes i still see the fleshless man on the back of my eye lids. I still can"t belive that Tool came to my town in the middle of nowhere to play. I my die now and leave my life perfect. Thank you Tool so much for twisting my brain into a mindless state consciousness.

The setlist was already posted, so here's my thoughts. The band was amazing, again. I hate the Augusta Civic Center, though. The set was exactly what I expected, but great anyway. I just think they should change it up more often, and throw in some stuff they never play, like Eulogy, Sweat, Hush, Prison Sex, etc. No matter what they play, though, they rock. Maynard was great, taunting us by saying the show they played in Lewiston in '98 was louder and adding the usual banter, including the masterbation speech. Long live Tool.

This was this reviewer's 4th Tool show

Every time I come to a Tool show, there's some kind of unity, oneness between everyone. Everyone I interacted with seemed just as enthusiastic about the show as I was. And that was before the show even started. I knew it was going to be a memorable night. It was the first time in a while that I've gone to a show with a group of friends. Usually I go alone or with just one other person. As soon as we stepped out of the van, the guys parked next to us greeted us and we introduced each other and shared some previous Tool experiences. Unity. We headed into the Civic Center. We found ourselves a comfortable, spacious spot on the floor and waited for Meshuggah to take the stage. During this time I ran into my ex-girlfriend, talked to her for a few mintes and met her new boyfriend and a couple other people she was with. Everyone was cool. No inhibitions, no negative energy. Unity. Meshuggah took the stage and blew me and my comrades away. Abrasive, cutting edge, rumbling guitar tone (8-string guitar with a low G). Intense, complex rhythms...hard to follow yet so refreshing to hear. A mix of music like this could only call for plenty of harsh screams to accompany it, and that's exactly when Jens Kidman delivered. The man has a very powerful stage presence, and I made it a point to tell him so when I met him after the show, as he was signing my ticket. I met Tomas the drummer as well, and gave him extra props for the guest drumming on Triad. During the break I met some more avid fans while waiting in the bathroom line. Shook hands, introduced ourselves, talked about the amazing entity that is Tool and how pumped we all were for the moments ahead. Unity. I returned to my circle of friends on the floor almost just in time to see the lights go out and the beautiful ring of eyes illuminate on the screens. The rumbling ensues...Adam strikes those three familiar notes from Merkaba...and the next thing you know, Justin starts strumming the infamous D-chord we've grown to recognize as the beginning of Sober. Danny's drum roll brings it all together and my body almost involuntarily starts to move, contort and sway to the music. So powerful. I stay in this constantly moving, entranced-yet- active state for most of the show, pausing during the more mellow parts of the set to soak in more of the visuals and the emotional energy that this band offers to its fans. I felt it, my friends felt it, everyone around me seemed to be feeling it. Unity. Highlights of the show? Stinkfist (extended) gave me tremendous surges of energy, I felt at times like I could have exploded. H. was beautiful as always, I think I came close to tears during the slower parts (I should have cried then. I could have cried then...) Same for Disposition. Triad was an instrumental treat and a half, Danny and Tomas sounded great together. And, of course, Lateralus brought the night's transcendental, ego-shattering experience to a closing. Never have I heard such an inspirational song, about inspiration itself. I went home that night and started writing lyrics for the first time in months. No masturbating by the fire though, instead I ended up just passing out. Perhaps I'll do that now. Thank you once again, Tool, for blowing my freakin' mind. It gets better every time. For those of you complaining about the t-shirts...if you don't want to support the band, don't buy one. You've already paid $35 for a lifetime of memories anyway. See you on the other side.

ya the last 5 times i've seen tool its been relativley the same set list. which sux because i keep dishing out a lot of money to go see tool and they don't seem to be mixing it up, hopefully they will at lowell. i think they should because at the amherst show the night before i lost my wallet with my license social secuirity and nearly 200$'s cash. so to make up for that it'd be nice if tool really changed it up on the lowell show and if you don't like hearing me bitch its too bad i just wasted 1 minute of your life. TOOL!

wow, Tool is just amazing. i never thought it was possible to improve upon last years show in portland, but they did. the set list rocked, granted there was no eulogy, third eye, etc, but i'll take anything i can get. sober was amazing, stinkfist unbelievable, and triad just blew my mind. there was more energy in the show all around, the crowd was great and the band even better. Thank you Maynard, Danny, Adam, and Justin for the best god damn show in the world.

These are always hard to write, because I don't know where to begin..... how about at the beginning! It was cold and rainy as we (my girlfriend and I) waited in line to get in. I wish we could've watched the weather change (ba-bum chh). Next... the crowd. The crowd around me was very well behaved. I had seats on the right side towards the back, and all of you were great. And from what I could see, everyone else was too... aside from the morons in the mosh pit. I mean, does Disposition really get your energy pumping THAT much? Now, onto Meshuggah. I'm generally not a fan of that heavy type of music... Opeth and In Flames are an exception. So I wasn't expecting to be blown away by them. However, they were much better than I had expected. Their songs had some very difficult rhythm patterns and timing to them, which did impress me. If they could add a little variety to their mix, then I'd love them. But 40 minutes of that was a bit much for me. They definately know their shit, though, especially the drummer. And finally, TOOL. I had seen them the year before in Portland, and I must say that as amazing as that show was, this blew it away. The sound, visuals, lighting, stage presence, setlist, performance, everything was incredible. I especially enjoyed how they did some adlibbing in their songs, something that they didn't do last year. My only complaint was that they played the intro to Third Eye from Salival. I had been reading reviews from this tour of other shows, and saw that they had been playing Third Eye a bit. So I was very excited to hear it, and hearing the "think for yourself" quote got me all worked up... but no such luck. Intro (end of Merkaba) ~Sober ~The Grudge Ions ~Stinkfist (extended version) ~H Interlude (sounded like the intro to the Salival Pushit) ~Schism Third Eye intro (Salival version) ~Parabol ~Parabola ~Aenema Intermission ~Disposition ~Reflection ~Triad ~Lateralus I was very pleased with the setlist.... of course it's not EXACTLY what I wanted, but I was more than satisfied. Thank you to Tool, Meshuggah, Augusta, everyone involved in the tour, and everyone there who enjoyed the show as much as I did.

First of all, you guys are dumbshits for thinking that Tool actually played here last night. For fucks sake, those are actors on stage, and they fucking suck at acting. Couldn't they play some better music for crying out loud. Like shit, get some Slayer and what's his face, you know, the guy with a fat ass daughter and the gay son and his wife that is a totally nutso, you know, the family that is always on tv and shit like that!!! Ozzy Osborne....yeah dumb shit!! Banna na nu, banna na nu,...FUCK YOU!!! I"M gonna Rape my monkey" get mad mother fuckers!!! anyway's, back to my point, this group sucks ass hole. I"m glad I got kicked out of the show cuz I was gonna fuck the baldy boy on stage there if he looked even more like a woman. I would have fucked his bitch ass so bad! and those three monkey boys he had with him, for fucks sake, get a fucking gorilla or monkey man, those guy's were awful!!! I swear to god, that little short faget playing the drums was a midget!!!! And what the fuck was up with his constant hitting of the shiny drums?? I was going to kill the son of a bitch!!!! But whatever, every song sucked ass, including the one about Dolly Parton, you know... that song, 69 me and you 2. You dumb fucks who actually like this Camel Piss music should go listen to good hard rock like the Backdoor Boys or NYSUCK. I'd pay a $1000 dollars to suck my dick, boy o boy are they gay!!! Woo, i bet they could suck a golf ball out of a gerbals ass. And speaking of that, did I tell you that I was back stage last night too? Oh yes I was, and watched them monkey men from the stage dancing around like panzy's sitting on pogo sticks. Woo Weee they was jumping and singing and alls kinds of shit............well, maybe the concert wasn't so bad. At least I got a hickey on my dick from the bass player. Thanks Tool, after going to a show, i realized something about myself, and realized to not take things so personally, cuz this is all an illusion, all this pain, just like everything else in life, until we stop lieing to ourselves and loved ones. Have fun to you fucking tool

This is the most powerful show i have ever had the pleasure of taking part in. I have several friends that cried at various parts of this show simply for the raw power that it brings with it. I will be forever greatful to this band for putting on this show in my hometown. Thank you Tool. I felt like the music overtook me and I lost control of my body, the music was then in control and i started to move and dance to the beats in a tribal fasion as i sang. I completely stoped fighting the crowd and just went with it. Letting it move me where it wanted to. The only thing that compares to this show that i can think of... is a Trip on some visually and auditory enhancing drug. There is no amount of money i wouldnt pay to see this show over and over again. I really hope Tool was happy with the crowd and that they come back again. once again... Thank you Tool.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

TOOL was amazing. I have been a tool fan since Opiate, but I never expected something so “moving.” I couldn’t hold still, the lights, the music, the experience! I will never be able to listen to my albums the same way again. After waiting about an hour and a half in the rain… then getting frisked at the door… forgetting that my “Leather-man” utility tool was still on my belt, returning it to my car to remove it, taking my place at the back of the line for another long wait in the rain, then getting frisked again, I WAS INSIDE! Meshuggah was opening… ehhh… same thing as the last time I saw them… A solid tone of drop D pounding my head into the wall with a slew of guttural lyrics who no one can understand ramming it’s way through my eardrum in an attempt to deafen me to the beautiful sounds of whoever they are touring with… I think it’s all a plan to make us think “it must be the speakers.” (If you have seen Meshuggah, you know what I mean.) Meshuggah made some comments about Maynard, Danny, Justin, and Adam having enormous penis’s and ended their show thanking TOOL for letting them play on tour with them. (In my opinion, Meshuggah should have been praying to Maynard, praising him for letting them be in the same zip code as Tool.) Then TOOL graced the stage, with amazing lighting, and long deep tones that shook my very being. I have to say that I have never experienced anything like it. I will never miss another TOOL concert in my area if I can help it. If you are reading this and have never seen TOOL, you have never seen a concert. I have seen System of a Down, P.O.D, Pulse Ultra, Meshuggah… and so on… NONE OF THEM COMPARE! Maynard lurked in the shadows, in the midst of an amazing light and projection show, belting off the tunes like you were listening to them, straight from the CD with the volume on “Super fucking loud.” They mixed new with old perfectly (although they didn’t play Eulogy or Opiate… God did I want to hear those.) The projections of disturbing images and Tool video’s glowed over the crowd onto the dual silver screens while their music went straight for my heart entering not only from my ears but seemingly through every open pore in my body. Then, ending with a mind-blowing Lateralus, they began to thank the crowd… Maynard came forward and told us of “A new line of personalized penis pumps now available at Meshuggah.com. In all sizes, Small, Very Small, and Extremely Small.” He then told us that he “hopes that he has touched us all in some way… enlightened us, and left us extremely horny. We should go home, sit in front of the fireplace, and read some poetry… maybe even write some…. And masturbate, until we pass out… and tape it. Then send it to TOOL care of Meshuggah at PenisPumps.com. I know, my review is long and jumbled, but that is what happens when you haven’t calmed down or slept much since you watched something that amazing on a Saturday night… this being Monday that is. If you haven’t seen TOOL, GO! You will be different afterward. You’ll understand…. I know everyone who has gone understands what I’m saying.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. I went and saw the Augusta show, and I have to admit that it was the best Tool show I'v eseen. A small venue, Augusta's Civic Center was a great place to see them. I was blown away, they've never had their sound sound so good, the bass shook the building, and his vocals really stood out, compared to some times when it's harder to hear a singer. You really knew what he was singing, rather than having to remember where the words go because you can't hear him. I loved the visuals, all the tapestries and Maynard's spinning stage were cool, as well. I know he has had those before, but I've never had such a good view of them before. All in all, this was an amazing show, the crowd loved the show seemingly as much as i did. Excellent job, was well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive there.

I was sooooo amazed by their performance and the stunning imagery desplayed on the screens; they were graphic, yet tastefully done. It's been a couple days, and I am still in awe over the whole thing. I would definately recommend that if anyone has ever wanted to see Tool, but for one reason or another didn't go, should go the first chance they get. It was also great to see Meshuggah come out and play Triad (?) with Tool...the whole show was spectacular...I'm never going to forget this.

The album is Lateralus, the song is Lateralis. Mike Rotch, you rule and Tool is the best band ever so there is no point in reviewing it,cause it was fucking awesome, even the annoying 15 minute intermission. Perhaps, it is most necessary to describe events which transpired inside the traceries of the Augusta Civic Centre on Saturday night by beginning with my utmost praise for the spectacular Alex Grey, who's sacred mirrors graced the stage in the midst of a well conducted musical orgasm. It was most impressive seeing Mr. Grey's works in such an abstract venue, but the musical medium seemed to create a form on the works that wouldn't have otherwise been evident. Similar compliments must go out to the folks who apparently worked their literal and metaphorical asses off on orchestrating the elaborate visuals which accompanied the performance; and a good deal of acknowledgement should be directed to the guys who set up and prepared the stage for what was an excellent show. Those are the thanks which are yet to be delivered, but are now in the open. Let it be said that this was more than a Tool/Meshuggah show, but a collaboration of skilled artists and thinkers alike. Now I must digress from this third person format to adress Meshuggah: I cannot say that I like the band, nor can I say that I enjoyed their performance, this is simply because despite my eclectic - hahaha - taste, consisting of everything from Tool themselves to Marvin Gaye, Bowie, or Joni Mitchell, I'm not a huge fan of the thrash type metal. However, I must concede that Meshuggah are good at what they do, and for that I have great respect vested in them. That and I hear they are Swedish which is always good. As a matter of fact, I ran into the bands frontman after the show and asked him if he's sign my ticket as Vanilla Ice, unfortunately it appears he was a little desensetyzed to signing autographs and just wrote his own name. Sadly, I'm not kidding, and yes, I am that cynical. As a matter of fact, amidst the croud I was shouting out requests to Meshuggah between songs. For your own interest, here are the tunes I recall proposing: 1.Footloose - which I also proposed to Tool 2.Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun 3.Dancin' In the Dark 4.Wake Me Up - Before You Go-Go - 5.Ice Ice Baby 6.Theme From Shaft Unfortunately, none of my requests were honoured, but this was most understandable, I'm just hoping it'll happen next time. So Meshuggah --- props to you, you are great at what you do, the drummer was crazy, I wish you the best of success and perhaps these old scumbags in Tool will be opening for you one day when they do a reunion tour after realizing they spent all their money creating a lifesize model of Neverland Ranch in Adam's backyard. Speaking of Tool, I must give great thanks to the four of them. I tried to associate them all with historical figures of some sort. Here goes : Danny - looked like King Arthur trying out for a Kansas basketball scholarship; Justin- looked like a younger Richard the Lion Heart; Adam- looked like Keanu Reeves circa 1994, by the way: What's with the mushroom cut?; Maynard- looked like a cartoon character after he got hit by a car and has the black tiretracks running up his face, I'm also impressed that he learned some bar chords, nice work. The musical techs did a great job, all the instruments sounded great, although I heard a few botches on part of the players. The setlist was well done, but the performance was fairly short at a little under 2 hours including the intermission. Thanks to the band for coming to such an obscure place, I'm actually from Toronto so I'm used to lots of concerts and it was nice to see smiles on the faces of these redneck Mainers. Also, a friend of mine and I developed an excellent version of "rock n' roll concert I spy" - in which we searched for - and found - a confederate flag, a mullet, a red bandana on someone's head, a man missing at least 4 of his front teeth, and someone who brought IB profin. Try it sometime between sets, it's a gas. Thanks again to the staff, the crew, the artists, and the bands for a most splendid evening. P.S. I will be expecting "Footloose" at the next Maine show, you can't turn a guy down twice now!

I cannot say how many people I saw getting carried out. There is a very fine line between using drugs to enhance an experience and abusing drugs and MISSING the whole thing. First of all, this is my 4th tool concert, and this one, even though the setlist was pretty standard, was without a doubt the best sounding show ive seen from them. The crowd was totally full of energy from the start, thanks to an insane performance from meshuggah, who was infinitely better than tomahawk. Maine doesnt get alot of big name concerts, especially augusta, so there were unfortunately some non- tool fans that were just going nuts and being a pain in the ass. This is obvious when assholes start criticizing people's spelling of song names. to the person who was criticizing the first setlist review, the song isnt "lateralis", thats a fucking spelling mistake on the first copies produced of the album. The album is lateralus, and so is the song, the first guy was right.. it doesnt fuckin matter anyway, but why get all upset over it if you dont even know what your talking about. Anyway, tool never fails to perform and impress, and the visuals seem to get better every time. Danny carey is just unbelievable.

I went to the show with my father which was rather akward for some reason. I don't know maybe because of his closed- mindedness. Well anyway the show was just as I had expected even though it was my first tool show ever. Stunning visuals and their music seems to sound even more beautiful live. The giant tower of speakers blocked my view of Danny and Maynard and all I could see were Adam and Justin's legs. Oh well though the environment and experience alone was enough to keep me satisfied. I did get a bit of a contact buzz from the people in front of me which did make the whole experience better. I mean I wasn't burnt out of my mind by any means, but just enough to make me feel good. Having this opportunity to see and feel this group up close and personal was something that I'll always remember. I've admired their work for about 5 years now. The messages in their music is something that has changed me since I started listening to them. I hope to see them again if they ever come back to Maine and I have a chance.

What is there to say? It was more than I expected, and at the same time, exactly what i thought i'd see. going in reverse order. Tool: It was a spectacular performance, but it was just that. a performance. there was the group of "artists" on stage, then, seperated by a barrier, security, and a whole hell of a lot more that's intangible, the huddled crowd. I loved the show, i was thrilled to see H and aenima, but the continued reverence confuses me, really. I see tool as men making great music. but men nonetheless. And it's so funny to see people repeating "think for yourself" so dogmatically. Ironic, no? Meshuggah: Wasn't sure that i'd care that much to see them, but was up front for their set, and had a fucking great time. Guys that played exceptional music, enjoyed doing it, and actually seemed to care that the fans were paying to see them. The drummer was godlike, and the music better than expected. Would've been better weren't it for the other people. Which brings me to the downfall of ANYTHING in maine. The people. You. the idiots who surfed to disposition. You, the walking stereotypes, shirtless, sweaty, and sexually frustrated, looking for anything resembling close contact with other people. Painted faces, baggy jeans, SO eager to slam into things. I was the tall one up front, with the group of idiots trying to push me over. you got nowhere, you'll go nowhere. Go for the music. if you're not there for that, you're just polluting the space. Well..it is maine. Can it really get worse? oh..and a big fuck you to whoever swiped the shirt @ J&S.

They interacted with the small Maine crowd to quite an extent when compared to the other shows I've attended and they've mastered their last two beloved albums at Gateway Studios in Portland. Just because you had a case of vaginitis and couldn't handle some pushing, doesn't mean all Maine Tool fans are "sweaty idiots". I don't particularly care to mosh during Disposition and/or Reflection either, but you'll get that at every show they play. Go to a few more and you'll realize that. Your generalizations of Maine folk are unfounded and uncalled for. I'm sorry that you were unable to enjoy the show because we were so loud and active during a rock concert. i jus luv tOol theey arr so grate. me frum mane so i ges i caant spel oar b a funkshoning membher of soseyeity. i wish i kood b frum unuther state an right thinggs abowt mane thaat haf nuthingh to doo wif a tOol show. Hey you cuntheads living outside the state........you'll get the same crowd of "walking stereotypes" no matter what fucking Tool show you attend. It seems to me that Tool enjoys the state of Maine. I should have known better. I guess your state, being of the sophisticated nature it is, would have had fans reading about the Ming Dynasty while perfoming yoga during the concert.
