First the setlist" Cold and Ugly The Grudge Sober Forty Six and Two Schism Parabol Parabola Intermission Disposition Reflection Triad (f/t Meshugah's drummer) Lateralus There was also (-) ions but i forget when that happened. maybe after cold and ugly? "This will be fun, not WWE type fun. not kid rock or limp bizkit type fun. it will be a different sort of fun. Because we don't underestimate yur intelligence. Think for yurself question authority" maynard speaks before launching into Sober. The crowd was great. no unneccesary moshing. Everyone respected what Tool stands for. Except for the dumass guy next to me who kept shouting EULOGY. such ppl don't need to attend a tool concert. be thankful for wht they played. The show was beyond words. An amazing performance by the best band out there. Meshugah nearly spoilt the mood in the beginning. i didn't understand a word the lead singer was shouting. Quite a disappointment. But they had a gud drummer. DANNY showed some INHUMAN drumming. Triad with meshugah's drummer was mindblowing. Every song was preformed superbly. It was a Dispostion,Reflection,Triad,Laterlus ending and what an ending it was. "u hav been a great crowd, an inteligent crowd" with that they started "Lateralus" the last song. the concert ended with a big group hug. One of the greatest experiences of my life. Freddie

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

just got back from my first Tool concert and first concert ever. holy damn what an amazing show. where do I start? Meshuggah opened for Tool rather unspectacularly. they had a minor moshpit following but nothing very substantial. imo, all their songs sounded the same and their songs weren't particularly varied in sound... and when they were being played it sounded like the volume was just three or four notches too loud for the speakers. not to say that they were crackling but a lot of the sound detail seems to have been lost. aside from that though, the lead singer had some interesting movement going on that kept it mildly interesting but overall they weren't very impressive, and I'm not really eager to hear them again. Tool.. wow Tool had an amazing lineup compared to some of the other shows I've heard, and particularly compared to Salival (heh). I think this is the set list but I may have missed one song in there somewhere: cold and ugly stinkfist (extended instrumental) 46&2 the grudge schism parabol\parabola third eye disposition\reflection\triad lateralus yes, that's right, they did third eye AND D\R\T. I thought they were gonna fake out on Third Eye but they did the whole damn thing. the sound quality was excellent for the whole show, the lights were fantastic (shifting colors appropriately in Lateralus), the videos on the monitors queued up perfectly with the music and were kept VERY interesting, and everything was perfect... there were TWO encores (sort of) as they left right after third eye (I believe) for about 15 minutes, and then came back to do D\R\T, said goodbye, then did some interesting custom song I've never herad before all gathered around the drumset, then launched into Lateralus for an amazing finale. Maynard sat WAY back from the audience though which was peculiar, he was standing on the very back of the stage next to the backdrop and not even facing the audience throughout most of the show. he was wearing a skintight black leather[?]outfit and had a huge black stripe painted down the front of his head, covering most of his face over his eyes. I'm so overwhelmed it's hard to stay coherent. that and I'm still sorta second-handedly baked from all that greenage that was wafting all about the place. heheh did i get the set list right? anyone have a better one?

thanks for reminding me shine they also did stinkfist extended. During parabol/parabola the video was palying on the big screen. also huge black balls which looked like a cell mulitiplying were suspended in midair during the song. Huge pictures of the human being we let down from the ceiling during maybe dispostion i think and they stayed down. Shine covered wht maynard was wearing. justin!! adam!! i can just go on and on. the show was just flawless. hopefully next time tool comes here meshuggah isn't opening for them. Maynard remained with his back ot the crowd the whole time except in lateralus he was on a revolving screen at the back of the stage. i think thats all. i'll write more if i suddenly remember something

OK, I've been to LOTS of concerts, starting way back with Iron Maiden when I was about 13. This was, by far, the BEST concert I have ever been to. I saw Rush in Dallas a few months ago, and they were good, but kinda "going through the motions". These guys put everything they had into this show, and seemed TRULY appreciative toward the crowd. After the first few songs (see set list from previous posts) I had to sit down. I was going into sensory overload. 46&2 almost made me cry it was SO PERFECTLY EXECUTED. Anyhoo, go see TOOL. Best band, best concert, ever.

Ok, here goes..... Meshuga (or however you spell it) was actually impressive, perhaps it was my proximity to the speakers, but I really liked their performance (and I usually hate death vocals). of course I didn't go for Meshuga..... I went to see Tool. Tool did not disappoint. Since the setlist has been posted, I will just list my thoughts on the show.... When Maynard said that this was going to be an "intelligent" fun show I knew I was in for a treat. For the most part, the crowd did seem to be apprciative of the spirtual/beauty aspect of the music. However, as always, there are those that would rather be drunk and disorderly and ruin the show for others rather than enjoy the music. This guy even pissed on a friend of mine and another girl that I had met at the show (Security did take care of him though) This being my first concert, I came in with expectations of the band based on what I knew from their records. The band exceeded all of these expectations and took the show in directions that I did not anticipate. Every moment of the show is carefully crafted as to affect all of the senses. I do not want to imagine the weeks of rehersal that these shows must take, as everything seemed to just happen perfectly in time. The visuals on the screens would match precicely the changes that were taking place on stage, somehow the band has manged to preserve its freedom of musical expression while still fitting to a prearranged show. The highlight of the concert was the preformance of the triumverate ending section of the Lateralus CD (Disposition, Reflection, and Triad) which involved the drummer from mishuga (who kicks ass BTW) on added percussion. This section was just flat out amazing. I will not ever miss another oppertunity to see Tool in concert ever again.

Man this concert was wicked phat yo. It was coolsville all the way. I thought the best part was when the floating balls attacked Maynard and smothered him like in the parabol video. Very symbolic Maynard, good job. I just can't believe he jerked off on stage. But for the record, he shot out 3 feet into the people in the front of the floor crowd. Then p- diddy came out, and Maynard lynched him. Good job Maynard, very symbolic. But the weirdest part was when the drummer to meshuga came out and played "Loveshack" by the B-52s. That was odd to say the least. And then Maynard led us through a prayer, and that was the end. Anyways, I think the crank is wearing off. I best be going now before I die. Good day.

Being Trent Reznor I naturally believe that Tool should quit the fucking touring, and just work on the tapeworm project with me. But since I'm here, I might as well post my "dream set list": Mmmmm Bop Achey Breackey Heart Baby Got Back Enter Sandman that new puddle of mud song (you know the one that goes like baddooop baddooom grrrruunng ggjakl, It rocks) Hooker with a Penis Goodbye Earl I Will Survive Basket Case Shooop Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata No. 9 Conclusion: Maynard get your act together, and we might be able to get something done.

the show kicked ass thats about all there is to say. there were 9 of us attending.....a few were rookie tool concert goers. the best part was triad by far....solid rockin for god knows how long (musta been 10-15 minutes) seems like they only get better with each new show. surprisingly, they changed the setlist up a bit compared to the Tulsa show in the summer. anyway... the letlis is like all those people said...except they didnt play sober...it was stinkfist with a long extension before the i'll keep digging part. later

The show was awesome!!!! It didn't seem like it was long enough, but the video and the lights, especially the mirrorball with the changing colours during Lateralus was cool.... I didn't like Mesuggah that much. A couple of their songs were alright but I don't think I'd want to see them again unless I could actually hear them better. They were like a bad eighties hair band trying to be something that would fit in with Tool. Although, when the drummer came out during Triad and the mad drumming was on, it rocked! Maynards Quote: "This will be fun, not WWE type fun. Not kid rock or limp bizkit type fun. It will be a different sort of fun. Because we don't underestimate your intelligence. Think for yourself question authority" was cool! And when they called us a great, intelligent crowd I loved it. Finally a band that recognises that there are some of us who still think for ourselves! The great ending with Lateralus and the group hug was icing on the cake. Now if only the psycho in front of me wouldn't have screamed "Bust out some Perfect Circle!" every five minutes, it would have been even better. Red

Excellent. Setlist has already been posted, so I'll leave that out. Security was pretty light, made me kind of sad we didn't try to sneak in any recording stuff. Oh well. Anyways, we sit down, and are greeted with the pleasant sounds of Meshuggah. (sarcasm) I listened to some of their songs before coming, and from that decided to purchase earplugs, for which I am thankful. Of the 4 of us that went, 2 fell asleep, one left, and I had my eyes closed and was trying to sleep. It was not enjoyable. It didn't even sound like music to me. After a quick set change, the lights dimmed and Tool came out. After reading setlists from other shows and seeing that they had been playing Cold and Ugly, I was really hoping to hear that. I wouldn't have minded hearing Sober again, but I was hoping to hear one I hadn't heard before. I was not disappointed. From then on, it was pretty straightforward until I had to start worrying about if they were going to play Third Eye, one of my favorites. Again, I was not disappointed. The only thing that disappointed me was the 2 girls screaming in my ear every time Maynard did something or when Schism was playing. It was horribly irritating. Anyways, it was worth the 40 bucks just to hear 2 new (new for me) songs live, and just to see the well-oiled machine in operation again. A few miscellaneous notes - to get the bizarre effect in the bridge of Schism, Justin hammers the note and uses his volume knob to create the sound. Adam plays the synthesizer part of Reflection with his feet During the middle of Stinkfist, right after the extended bridge when the sounds from the opening part of the studio version are heard, Danny is playing them on one of his samplers. Maynard's spinning podium is badass. Excellent show, money well spent. Hope to see it yet again.

(not sure how the formatting works here so there will be '---'s between my paragraphs) --- Small followup as I'm coming down. I had my doubts as to whether Maynard could actually pull off the FULL scream in The Grudge, and I was stunned when he actually DID, EXACTLY like he did in the album, and he nearly collapsed afterwards. He was particularly lively during the show, doing all sorts of cool \ dramatic movements and shaking his whole body around... he was standing on top of another video monitor that was spinning around during the 'spiral' parts of Lateralus. (a subtle but VERY cool effect). --- More details on the effects and setup... there were two MASSIVE backdrops behind the band that got lit up differently during the show. The first was an abstract type thing with woman's face in the center with another woman's face in profile on either side, and that merged into two Lateralus-booklet-style skulls in profile, and on the outer edges were some Toolish designs and a baby fetus. Throughout the show it was lit with all kinds of different mood lighting and animated swirlies as the song changed. --- The second backdrop was after Third Eye (?), it was a gigantic field of Lateralus eyes as in the background at the very end of the Parabol\Parabola video. Hanging a few feet in in front of that was the giant quasi-Pentacle \ David's Star whose name I don't know. At one point during one of the songs all the anatomy posters came down in front of and behind the video screens... and during Parabol\Parabola there were the two GIGANTIC floating balls hovering around the stage. They had to have been at least 12 - 15 feet in diameter. Really impressive as they had no visible means of support and hovered JUST like in the video. When you're caught up in the intensity of the whole experience it seems even more surreal... --- And yes, that was rather odd that they didn't play ANYTHING from Undertow. And was I the only one that heard the squiggly synth sounds of Merkaba from Salival during the first 1/4 of Triad? Or is that actually in the album version and I don't remember it for some reason? --- Sounds like some of you guys had some pretty annoying experiences with the people around you... I was sitting in 321-10-E and the people around me were great, very respectful and quiet and into the music like I was.. [with the exception of the doofus that spilled beer all down my back.] --- Back to the imagery... they didn't actually seem to play the proper videos through Stinkfist and Parabol\Parabola like someone above said. They had portions of them but they remixed them and added a LOT of new material that really brought it all to life even more. While the videos are wonderful I think I prefer the concert versions better as they seem to go to the music a lot better, which I'd imagine is by design, since airable music videos need more action than concert video... at any rate, they're coming up with some wonderful new Tool-ish creature designs to accompany the songs, as well as fascinating abstract imagery to bring everything out... I think it was during either D/R/T or Lateralus that there was a horizontally mirrored image of a naked woman underwater with another small portion of that overexposed, tinted blue, rotated and mirrored over the top portion of that, and was moving all around and doing this amazing thing with the blue light that corresponded to the song... that was truly beautiful, and nearly overpowered my senses completely.. that seemed to be one of the 'softer' parts of the video sequences, and a wonderful image to wrap up with. --- I'm glad a band like Tool exists, and I love that Oklahoma let them come.

Oh, I'd forgotten about (-) Ions, I can't believe that. :) During that part they had this really cool electricity effect on the screens and, even more impressive, they had these three gigantic (20ft?) light ropes strung from the video monitors to a big set of lights, and as the song played the three light ropes quickly lit up like lightning to the timing of the little 'zaps' in the song... really looked like an electrical field. That was a huge surprise for me because I hadn't seen those things hanging up there before. AWESOME thing to pull out of the hat, very atmospheric!

Well, this was fucking amazing. Even better than last time. Meshuggah was pretty fucking cool, although im not a fan of heavy heavy music. They were very talented, and the lead "screamer" was stout. they played a very short set though, the last song they played was pretty bad. Then Tool came on and played a kick ass show. I forget the set list, but the first guy to post was wrong about Sober, they didnt play it. I have to say it was another moment i my life that i will always remember. A little over a year ago Tool came to Oklahoma. I wanted to see them so very much but I didnt have the money to get tickets in time. This time I did. My brother got lucky enough to see them last time (his friend bought him a ticket). He told me that it was unbelievable. I knew that I had missed something amazing. Then, not hardly anytime later, my friend that lives in Illinois said that they were coming down. He really wanted me to go but I couldn't get down there. Then when they came to Tulsa I didnt get tickets in enough time because I didn't know when they went on sale and then they were sold out. I thought I was never going to be able to see them. This time, when I heard they were coming back, my girlfriend and I (who loves Tool as much as me) got them the first day. I finally got to see them... and it was everything that I could ever hope for and a billion times better. It was literally life changing. Everthing about it was just more than words can explain. I had heard that this show was more than words, and I'm here to tell you that it truly is. If you saw the Lateralus show well then you are in for a treat. My brother said that even though that was an amazing show, this was so much better. I guess that just goes to show that Tool is just one of those bands that can only get better with time. To anyone who likes Tool and hasnt seen one of their shows, I feel your pain. But hey, I eventually got to see them and it was well worth the wait. So just "be patient" and hopefully you will be fortunate enough to be a part of this spiritual experience.

Ok well. Just to clear some things up. I read in an earlier post that Sober was played. It was not. I went to Tool last year about the same time at the same place in OKC, now Cox Convention Center formerly The Myriad. I was going to go to the show in Tulsa but I was out of the country. Thank GOD I finally got to hear 46&2 live. I was so pissed that I didnt hear it last year. Visual displays were amazing as usual. I like the large backdrop rather than the smaller video screen. I really dont need to say much else. If you have ever been to a Tool concert you already know it is as close to musical nirvana than humanly possible. Ok as far as Meshuggah goes. I think they would be pretty cool if they would make an effort to lose the retarded death metal style vocals. All the songs sounded the same. The lead singer actually had a good voice when he talked. So I think he should put that to good use and actually sing. The guitars are pretty sweet I love the hard hitting chords, its wicked as hell. Side note: When the hell is Tool going to cut a new album? I'll be first in line I can guarantee you that. -the idiot (that is occasionally useful)

This was this reviewer's 5th Tool show

Just got in from the concert a few hours ago and I seen no other reviews so I'll attempt the set list. I had general admission floor. We stood front center the entire tool set approximately 304 people back from the front guard. I have to say cool crowd for the most part, other then the normal shove forward and backward from time to time it was great but very sweaty.;) Tool came out and shocked me atleast by opening with Cold & Ugly! I've kept myself from looking at the other reviews on this leg of the tour so I would have a few surprises to look forward to. I just saw them back in July in Tulsa, so I knew most the scenery wouldnt change too much...So here's my whack at the setlist, there maybe some out of place, but I promise not to miss anything that was played! Setlist: Cold & Ugly(my 5th tool show and my first time seeing this performed, it was a great opener for me!) The Grudge (kept the crowd pumped) Schizm Stinkfist (always great!) 46 & 2 3rd Eye (thank you GOD! havent seen it performed since 96) parabol parabola they took a break some where in here I think... disposition reflection triad (drummer from meshugah helped out on the tri-toms) Lateralus ended it. Maynard spoke quite a bit although I cant quote him...Spokes for quite a bit before Lateralus and said what fun they had and that it was intelligent, brilliant, minds that we had together for the night and that made it scarey, to remmember to think for ourselves, question authority as usual. Maynard was dressed in all black leather and didnt shed a piece of it which was a first for me to see! He had a thick black stripe that started in the middle on top of his head that came down between his eyes past his chin. Danny was wearing the usual Kansas jersey. Adam and Justin both in t-shirts and baggy pants. The group hugged with Mesugah after triad and the band all started Lateralus on Danny's platform facing him before making their wayto their normal positions. They all hugged again after Lateralus and stayed on stage for quite awhile admiring the crowd that was going crazy they stood forever and waved back, but maynard was first to leave after flashing us the "peace"sign, the others like I said hung around for sometime and flung gear and waterbottles all around me but I didnt come down with any although I had my hands on a few items that were tugged by 5-6 people. The band was great as usual and I loved everybit of it! They continue to amaze me everytime, this time was I was very close and personal, I could see all their expressions on their faces throughout the show. We didnt get the patient or pushit or eulogy-that I was really hoping to hear, but we did get 3rd Eye, and I'm totally thankful for it considering its nearly 20 minutes long live and probably causes a crowd to miss a couple or 3 songs if in its place, but I'll tke 3rd Eye live everytime I can get it! I believe I ve rambled on enough so I'll stop. Just want to thank all of tool and meshuggah for a wonderful experience I will always cherish...Thank you TOOL!

UNBELEIVABLE, as usual it was the yet again the best experience in my life. The setlist is as follows: COLD AND UGLY The Grudge Stinkfist (extended) 46 & 2 Schism (extended) Parabol Parabola (Timothy Leary sample) THIRD EYE!!! ---Intermission--- Disposition Reflection Triad (w/ Meshuggah's drummer and guitarist on keyboard) -Jam- Lateralus! Like I said the show was AMAZING!!! Maynard tended to speak quite frequently. The crowd was really good, until after intermission (the best part of the show) everyone sit down, and didn't seem to get a full experience out of it. As usual, Maynard, Justin, Danny, and Adam were all totally focused and supplied an unimaginable show. At the end they did the usual, and gave a group hug. Maynard left right after, but Adam, Justin, and Danny stayed and waved for awhile, I think they were really pleased with the crowd, all in all. I would like to thank TOOL for giving me the time of my life for a fourth time this year!!! Thank You TOOL.

Very amazing show on TOOL's part. Meshuggah was talentless. It sounded like they kept playing the same song over and over, it was horrible. Although, I will admit the drummer did have some ability to create some grooves. During Meshuggah, the crowd was suprisingly tame, but when Danny came out and starting playing with Senthesizers on stage while Meshuggah was playing, thats when the crowd started getting rough. Meshuggah ended and thanked TOOL for letting them be apart of this experience, followed by lights and trance music.. Twenty minutes passed and then eerie climactic music and then the finally the lights went dead and the crowd came to life. I think that they even made it more special since the are one of the best metal bands out there. Now on to tool. coming right out with cold and ugly was very unexpected, it blew my mind. then with all the extra parts on stinkfist. i didn't even know what the hell was going on, i just new it was even better than before. Well i know you all have your own wonderful tool experinces so, " THINK FOR YOURSELF, QUESTION AUTHORITY" YOUR OKC MAN \ CASE

This was my 5th Tool Concert, and the band was great as usual. Jared's set list looks right to me, so I won't repeat it. Meshuga was OK, but they could have been the worst band I had ever heard and the concert still would have been worth it. The crowd was not bad. Some people didn't seem to pay attention when Maynard gave his little speech about having intelligent fun, but they did settle down after a while and they were more patient with the long intermission than previous crowds have been. It was great to hear Cold and Ugly and Third Eye. I think the only songs that I still haven't heard live and would really like to are Eulogy and Jerk-Off. Still, I was very happy with the set list and performance. Everything about the show was awesome as usual, and if you have never seen Tool in concert then you are missing what could be one of the greatest experiences of your life. If you have, then you already know what I'm talking about. Enough said.

For as much as I had anticipated this show, it was somewhat dissapointing. I don't want to give the wrong impression, it was still awesome and I had a really good time, but this show was nothing special for Tool, and I don't think they really gave a fuck that they were there. Maynard sang with his back to us the majority of the time, and I don't know if this is always part of the show or if it was a personal insult to Oklahoma City. I think the crowd is what really makes a concert, and there was plenty of pot being smoked, mosh pits weren't too violent, but they were there, and people seemed to be having fun. I guess I'm spoiled by going to concerts in Colorado; crowds are never the same here as they are there. The band was awesome, of course. My ears rang all night from the speakers, and the visuals on the screens inspired some very interesting dreams last night. Messugah was pretty cool, and the additional drums there near the end of Tool's set was awesome. Everything else I was going to say has already been said by someone else.

the pre-show drum & bass was a pleasant suprise. meshuggah = swedish death comedy i couldn't really get into their sound, the singer being the key factor. the drummer was solitary redeeming factor. now onto things that mattered most, TOOL. i was there with the beautiful Mindy, and this was her first concert. i was very happy with the set list, even with nothing from undertow. my prayers of "please let them play third eye" were answered, and the exhumation of cold & ugly was a nice touch. i don't what to say really, it's an experience all in it's own. i think this band displays something for everyone to appreciate, whether it's the literary, artistic, or musical aspect of their craft. disposition\reflection\triad - THIS WAS INCREDIBLE! my mouth dropped in awe as my eyes gazed at this "jam spectical" with mixed feelings of disbelief and amazement. speaking of eyes, that seemed to be the main theme with all of the visializations. they seemed lacking a bit from last years, but maybe it's just me. overall, the drive was worth it, and my seats were much better than i had in mind. the beauty represented was unprecedented, and i was able to share it with someone i love. a most excellent evening to say the very least.

Setlists are generally right. No sober....yes stinkfist, which was cool. No one has said shit about H., but it was played somewhere before intermission. (how could NO-ONE remember H.?) fucking amazing, obviously...and yes, danny owned. i was in the pit, and it was cool.....every mosher that fell was quickly helped up....we broke up a fight in the pit..... the stoners were quick to hook you up with a hit Every aspect was as good as i've witnessed and/or heard it can be...(danny....holy shit.)...and the scream from The Grudge was 'almost' eternal......the best triad of the 3 i've seen....and the most appreciation from the crowd i've ever seen. (justin, adam, & danny also stayed out longer than they have at past shows.....to the loudest applause; five minutes??) (read:reciprical appreciation) Honestly words cannot adequately capture what this experience can/will/should mean to you. I've tried... btw...apparently some 'fake' tickets were making the rounds out front...they were slightly darker....i found my 'real' tickets from different people....2 on the floor...paid $40 for one(hell yeah) and $60 for the other.......

The highlight of this show was Maynard's speech before The Grudge. He said something to the effect of "Good evening Oklahoma, are you ready to have some fun? Not Limp Bizkit or Kid Rock fun, not WWF or monster truck fun, but intellectual fun." This was also the first time I have heard Third eye since 1996 and it was beautiful. Maynard also sang suspicious minds by elvis during stinkfist. Overall this was one of the better Tool shows I have been to.

Jared, Nathan Neal, and Addison have correct setlists. No Sober, for our esteemed stoned reviewer above. No H., even though that guy is certain they played it. My friends and I drove up from Fort Worth to see the show. We were all blown away. I thought Meshuggah was pretty good. Their brand of music is different from most death metal I've heard. Third Eye was one of the highlights of the show. At the end, when Maynard chants "Prying open my third eye," he changed it up a bit. On Ænima, he says it 10 times, while he's always said it 4 times in concert and on all the live recordings I've heard. Tonight, though, he said it 6 times. Relection was excellent, as it always is. For Triad, two guys from Meshuggah joined the band, one on drums and one on the synthesizer. Afterwards, they shook hands with Danny, Justin, Adam, and Maynard before exiting the stage. We were on the floor, about two rows of people back from the stage. Being so close, I couldn't see the projection screens very well. Having seen them before, I didn't mind, though. This also meant I could watch the band play instead. Overall, the show was great. This is probably my last time to see them for a while, so I'm glad it was a good one.

Those who said that Sober was played are idiots also. I estimate the average intelligence of the people there was comparable to that of a chimpanzee. This is my first time to be in OKC and I will never come back to this redneck town, unless Tool comes back. Any hell that was endured was worth it though, to see TOOL. They were incredible. The energy, hard work, and sacrifice that they make every night to bring the show to Tool fans can't be underestimated...

The only words that I can conjure up obout this expierence is absolutley life changing and breathtaking.Me and my friend arrived at the venue at around 5:30.Where upon entrance of the fascility all people with floor tickets were directed to go to the line seperate from the people who didn't.So preceeded to the line. After waiting for several minutes,I got through the security check(and didn't get my pack of cigeretes jacked).I then entered the front area of the floor, and then realized I was somewhat dehydrated, so off to the drinking fountain I went. And back to the entrance to find out I needed to have my ticket checked(this is just an example of how lame the security is at the Cox). After waiting for what seemed like forever the first band,Meshuggah took the stage.Personaly I did not have a problem w/ this band like many others do, I just don't like them enough to consider myself a fan. After waiting for what seemed like forever the lights went out for a second time and that was the start of the moment of truth. TOOL came out with their usual intro. And then I saw the god- like Maynard James Keenan in a full leather body suit and a black stripe painted down the middle of his face. They went right into Cold and Ugly, which really kicks ass to hear live. Then they went into the grudge.Maynard then said:"Good evening,we hope you have fun tonight, not the WWF or monster truck kind of fun,not the Kid Rock or Limp Bizkit kind of fun, because we wouldn't want to underestimate your inteligence. But the inspiring kind, the intelectual kind, the dangerous kind, the think for yourself question authority kind."Then they went into Stinkfist followed by 46&2(FUCK YEAH).The highlight of the concert was definitely Third Eye (my favorite TOOL song). When I said the concert was life changing, I mean that literally. This concert changed my life, probably forever.I am no longer am depressed about everything,I am a more happy person.I will always think for myself and question authority(not like I didn't before the concert). And my third eye was definitely pried open tonight.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. on the advice of a friend i slipped in a small but powerful set of binnocs as we seated on therightof the stage and could rally watch Danny .All i can aboutthis guy is he is just UUNBELIEVEABLE .I saw him do stuff I thought no human could do on the drums and the last three songs were the damnedest thing i have ever witnessed. My frind who plays drums in the Sonner band simply said he was so blown away byhis playing last year when hesaw them said hewas even better this year. The question i have is Where did he come from. the people in Modern Drummer have been featureing in past issues andthey don't even come close to telling the story. i watched how he and Justin worked together and it was like some other world machine. They seemto read each others minds. The underlaythey put downfor Mzynardand Adan is like moving rug of so may tectures they can do anythingthey want yet it is such adriving force behind the whoe thing it is at times as though itis one enity with four voices. i saw Danny breakfour sticks during the concert and saw one materialize in his hand as if he pulled it out of thin air and if i am not sure he broke a snair head and change out the drum with out missing a thing. Justsin s bass work is nothing short of incrediable also. He woven the most intricate pattern under Adam s playing it was like a work of art. I trruelybelieve that Adam is one of the most undrated and overlooked players out there today.it is not the flash that you see some players put on but it is right onthe mark every time. if there is a fault maybe he is a little undersatated attimes As for MJthere is no other like him. he can play it so many different ways and they completerly knock you flat in the next phrase. I there is another band out there equal to Tool I sure as hell dont know who it is One thing i do know thereis no one better. my only hope is they come back again inthe areanext year and i will be there and if there are those who havent yet seenthem for God s sake go you will have one of the greatest musical experiences of your life.

This concert was amazing. Last year, I saw them in October, and was a little disappointed. This year, though, they couldn't have done anything better. I liked the two multi- media screens rather than the one HUGE one. I liked hearing more songs than just those off of Lateralus. I liked hearing Maynard speak more than "Take the joy you feel tonight and remember it later on in life." I was so happy to have gotten to hear Third Eye played live, and they did it so well! Unfortunately, everyone in my section was lame. All but about 10 people (me included) sat down halfway through the show. Maybe it's because Tool's my FAVORITE band, but I can't imagine sitting through songs like Parabol/Parabola and Third Eye. Oh, well. More than anything, though, I'd like to thank Tool for coming to OKC. Since we really don't get good bands around here very often, it's quite a treat to have them play in our state three times in one year. It's very much appreciated, by more people than me, I'm sure.

I am not going to post a setlist here, you all know what was played. All and all an impresive show. Out of all the concerts I have seen, it is second. No. 1 being TOOL and 3 being TOOL too. While it was an aswome show, and I saw them play better in some spots than I have ever seen them play before, I still think Tulsa a few months back was a better show. Although you have to love getting to hear 3rd Eye, that was awsome. So in all, A kick ass show. Also take this with a grain of salt, but Danny said that this may be the last tour for about 2 years. Maynard has two side projects now, and Danny has pigemies (SP). Just letting you know that after the show he said they won't be on tour again for a while. later.

TOOL......... does anything more really need to be said? This show was great as were my others. They are just perfect every time. This was my third show in four months, and I have now driven about 3000 miles to do all of this. It has been well worth the effort. I only just listened to the band last December, when my husband asked for a CD. We had every CD by the end of January!!!! We went to our first show in August in our home town and now we have been to Kansas City and Oklahoma City. I really hope that it is not true that they will not tour again for two years. I can't make anymore shows this tour and I still want more Tool!!!!!!!! OKC was a great time in a very interesting city with lots of stuff going on. We got to see a big fireworks display right before the show, which was very cool- the finale to all fireworks should be a Tool show!!! The next day we ate lunch at the Indian Restaurant(one of four)- mmmm, spicy. Then it was off to the OKC Art Museum, then the OK University Museum of Natural History. Both were first rate facilities. Then we drove home listening to Tool all the way. I am only disapointed that I didn't get the SHIRT I WANTED. Damn. It's the one with the green demon guy on the back and long sleeves. SOOOO... I geuss I am not supposed to do this here, but if anyone knows where I can get one of these please let me know. I have searched high and low on the internet since Kansas City and was really hoping to get it at this show. Well, I've said quite a lot now. TOOL.

To start off, I must say that this is the first show I've seen where Danny didn't do a drum solo, but the synthesizer solo he did with Meshugga will do just fine, besides, they could come out and play one song and I'd be happy. But anyway, another first, is the fact that maynard wore clothing all the way through the show, I'm impressed!! Danny had out the 47" Piaste gong this show nice, nice. Two things I have to mention: 1)How the hell have we been so lucky in Oklahoma to get to see Tool three times in just over one year? 2) The crowd at this last OKC show was 20X more respectful towards Tool than the crowds in the last two shows in Tulsa and OKC, that fact alone made this show my favorite out of the last 3 shows in OK this year (with the exclusion of the drum solo). Then again, there all my favorite hahahahahaaha. Anyway, Tool starting right off the bat with Cold & Ugly was one of the highlights of my Tool show watching career. I couldn't help moshing my ass off when the music allowed that is. I must say, I went to another level and let the music take my body over, I started doing this freaked out thing that Maynard used to do during the heavy parts of their shows back in the early 90's to let out aggression but nut lose any breath support for his god-given vocals wherein, he would flex every muscle in his body and hop up and down with his legs spread while punching his arm downward over and over, anybody thats ever seen a bootleg our a show from around 92' - 94' knows what I'm talking about. This may sound stupid but it feels sooooooooo good to do this motion to any of their live shows. But enogh blabering, I just want everybody to know that I am thankful for the awsome crowd because the chances of Tool coming back is higher know, and to tell you all the truth Tool shows are one of the highlights of my life, a religion perhaps. Thank You OK and Thank You TOOL- The band thats on the highest level of all bands. P.S.-Any other big fans out their that wants to have fun, take Disgustipated from Undertow and reverse it on a computer and listen to it: SATANIC AS FUCK AND THE BEAT IN THE BACKGROUND SOUNDS THE SAME FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS--this TOOL TIP was brought to you in part by LSD and MUSHROOMS, thank you.

The English language falls short once again. Are there words to describe (acurately) what it feels like to experience TOOL? Only those who know can even begin to understand, and even then, well, you understand, maybe. What else gives you non-stop goosebumps? What other experience gives you an audio/visual/intellectual orgasm? By the way, intellectual stimulation is highly underrated, but if everyone "got it" what fun would it be to scream "weren't you listening?!?!" at a few teenagers leaving the venue when I overheard them saying, "I dunno which way is out, just follow the crowd"---argh!!! So much for thinking for yourself.

Having only really started listening to Tool in the past 10 months or so, being able to go to the concert was a dream. Maynard was awesome, some of the shit he can do with twisting his body and bending made me hurt watching him, but well worth the pain. I enjoyed the whole concert clear headed and unclouded and it still rocked out which I believe is the ultimate test for any band. The band's live sound is just as good if not better than their recordings. The light show and vids were kick ass too. GO SEE TOOL!! I am a native okie, but not a fukkin podunk hick! As my hero Bill Hicks would have stated it, even though most okies deserve the making fun of, and Bill didn't refrain from doing so, but there are those of us double degree holders who happened to have opened their third eye with the use of psychodelic drugs of all flavors combined to form the perfect understanding of the humor in Bill Hicks and Tool. I am just glad Tool didn't get booed like Bill Hicks did in Oklahoma for their intelectual superiority, all in all Tool has a good crowd in Oklahoma or they wouldn't have made it here 3 times this tour. A little FAST FACT: "okies" might not know is that Tool sells more albums per capita in Oklahoma than anywhere in the world (golf claps for us all). I saw on one of the first few postings someone recognized or knew it was actually Bill Hicks excerpts in the beginning of 3rd eye. By all means people this is a "cry from the wilderness" find and download all the Bill Hicks material your computer can handle, he is around 80% of Aenema's album inspiration, and the funniest man to have walked the earth. Anyway on to the show! I will skip right, through meshuggah and cut to the chase, with the exceptions of the musicians of meshuggah they deserved being skipped. I have seen Tool in OKC, Dallas/F.T. Worth, and Tulsa everytime they have played any one of those cities since I have been able to drive in late 1993. My stomach is churning as I am typing this, I see some people who mentioned they saw the previous OKC show in October on their first time around this tour. Surely they forgot the show completely, maybe a numericle list of things that changed other than songs that were sang will pry open your mind so that you might remember. 1. Someone mentioned they liked the dual smaller screens better on Nov. 16th than the "single" screen used in the october show. Huh? Truth is there was actually one huge screen, a screen behind Maynard, and the same two small screens seen to the sides at the Nov. 16th show, it was such a trip, completely blowing the screen show away for this last show! 2. They played an 1:15 longer during the October show. They played the same set minus "Cold and Ugly" and "Third Eye." But they played "Opiate", "Sober", "Pushit", "The Patient", plus Maynard busted off some Grandmaster Flash's "White Lines" very plainly and pre-planned during "Stinkfist", and played 80% of "Stinkfist" then blended that in with with the last 50% of "Eulogy." 3. Maynard removed, his shoes, pants, and shirt in the Octorber show. 4. The guitar ending of "Reflection" was about 10 minutes longer, with the same trippy ass scene re-playing along with Adam on all 4 screens, they band actually took a "coke" break, because they were almost overplaying themselves, which is also why I assume Maynard sported only the leather underwear for the second half of the show. 5. One of the best, Maynard strapped on and played bass along with Justin starting with "Schism", and played the next four or five songs with him oin bass. 6. The humans walking on all fours because of their lack of Lateralus muscle that allows us humans to stand upright seen in the "Schism" video, walked on stage the whole time they played the song. 7. And the neatest of all! The four acrobats dressed in solid silver skin tight body suits who climbed 4 chains in pairs to the top of the big screen, then strapped 'bungee- like' feet harnesses and danced in syncronization while hanging upside down for the playing of "Disposition", "Reflection", and "Triad". The October stage show was too much entertainment for words as you all can see, it was by far the best of the 9 shows I have seen. The digital animation they used in the October show along with the music would put you in a trance even if you had ADD and was wearing a blindfold. It was undescribable. BUT, by no means am I downing the Nov 16th show, it was damn good (as always) especially for as long as they have been on the road. I would keep in mind we were their 5th show away from their first break in a year and a half. if I am not mistaken they only had one month off since the release of Lateralus. I noticed a lot of people quoting Maynards words of wisdom from this last show. That is one of the better things about this concert than their last show, Maynard spoke and we listened. The best thing about this show of course being the playing of "Third Eye", from reading I think everyone agrees on that. He only had one thing to say at the October show, keep in mind this was after the September 11th attacks, he said this while standing on Danny's drum stage with his back turned to the crowd before thier last song: "I want everyone to think about how they feel right now at this very moment, and sometime this week, this month, or this year I want you to remember this moment and feeling, turn it into energy and do something positive." It was an extremely fitting statement at the time and place that's for sure, but he is doing a great job these days I see conveying who Tool is to a lot of people who think they know what Tool is about. He is seperating himself and the band as a "rockstars" with a "rock show", and proving themselves as "artists" with an "experience" to offer. Something all of us intelligent Tool fans always knew, now he is just slowly revealing to the idiots of the world. Who will never fully understand them, his lyrics, or his intentions. That's why once you understand Tool, and see the Tool experience you will realize no other band holds a candle, nor will they ever. Don't get me wrong there have been and will always be great musicians, but if you're an intelligent person all you have to do is listen, and you will understand it's impossible for Tool to have a lousy song, or put on a bad show. To sum it up Tool has taken everything to a new level. We have just gone where no one's been, let's keep riding the spiral to the end, and hopefully if you don't understand me you will when we get there. ............See you on the other side. Todd

This was this reviewer's 4th Tool show

Well, they simply know how to JAM!!! I had to drive about 6hrs this time to see them in Okla & I will definitely do it again...I am a full-blooded roadie now (road trips are a blast anyway)...I am addicted to see TOOL over and over again...each show blows me away...I can listen to Lateralus till my ears fall off... Here are the concerts I have experienced: 1996 - Tulsa - Aenima Tour (Maynard painted completely BLUE) 2001 - Memphis - Lateralus Tour (**Fave show**loved the blue schism ppl) 2002 - Little Rock - Lateralus Tour (Danny vs Tomahawk drummer) 2002 - Okla City - Lateralus Tour (Danny vs Meshuggah drummer) I really enjoyed how Maynard setup the opening act drummer vs Danny Carey...It was almost like Maynard was interviewing a new drummer to take Danny's place, but shit, Danny just blew them away...It was very cool to watch this action!!! I am diggin Danny's website, www.dannycarey.org , his drum set is awesome... You guys get some rest, I am ready for another kickass album in 2006, hahaha... I know that Maynard is probably gearin up for APC II, which I am getting stoked about, I will be seeing you on that tour !!! It has been a blast jammin with you in 2K2, take care Maynard, Danny, Adam, & Justin...keep making great music!!

This was this reviewer's n/a Tool show

All I want to say is fuck the guy who posted above about filming the show. If you're planning on selling those DVD's, you make me sick. Anyone who makes money off of TOOL without TOOL's permission should suffer. On top of that you're using this great site as a vehicle for your dirty profits. Now, if you are for the FREE TRADE of bootlegs, that's a different story. Somehow, though, I'm sure your greedy ass is planning on charging $20 or more a pop...and that's simply disgusting. It's people like you that piss the band off and make it that much more difficult for those of us who ARE for the free trade of bootlegs. Anyone who buys his DVD's are just as bad. You're simply perpetuating the market for these people. Help put an end to it. Only deal with people who refuse to take advantage of the best band of our generation. I've been to 22 shows, just like that asshole. Normally, I would say he's quite a fan as there are only a few of us who have seen that many or more...but this jerk-off is no fan...not really. If he was he wouldn't be selling his recording. So again, DON'T BUY FROM THIS PIECE OF SHIT. Sorry for the rant...and thanks for listening.

This was this reviewer's 9th Tool show

THIS SHOULD PUT A HOLE IN THE ASS PIRATE'S SHIP OUT THERE BOOTLEGGING AND CHARGING FOR TOOL DVD'S!!!! ---This is a must read for anyone considering or not considering purchasing this cocksmokers stolen art from Tool.--- People I am truely sorry for my long post being on the review board 3 times. The instructions for viewing your post are to refresh your screen and I did it 3 times each time recieving an error saying "do you want to 'retry'", I hit retry 3 times and as they say "the rest was history," but it takes less than a bitchable amount of energy to scroll past the other two posts. Oh well everyone sucks at one moment in their life, I did yesterday, but I am not about to today. All apologies aside, I would not have sent another review had it not been for optimistic-pessimist's statement about the guy who is selling Tool DVDs. If I were to sum up your statement in one word it would be "AMEN." but I think everyone can see I am not a one word summary type of guy. I feel un-intelligent for not adressing the guy hocking the Tool shows first, you have my respect optimistic-pessimist. For as many Tool shows as this butt-pirate has been to, he sure missed the boat. In other words he has a total lack of respect or understanding of Tool. I do, however, have the solution as much trouble as it will be for me, so EVERYONE here listen up. Along with my best smoke for the show, as always since I have had my small DVD-R my girlfriend has snuck it in to every Tool concert via her beautiful, and equally useful breast area. She knows how much Tool means to me so I get her great filming position seats, and a floor ticket for myself and some buds. Once we are in I take all but one of the joints, and she takes the camera. She has done an excellent job filming for me, she actually gets off on it because she is a graphic design, and production double major. The only kicker is that I have only had the DVD-R for 3 of the last shows I have been to. So here is the plan, I know I am getting myself into a world of shit by offering this, but I would like to hope Tool would do this for me in the event my band became huge, and the members of Tool became fans. I only record the shows for myself, NOT for purpose of re- distribution BY ANY MEANS, and would love to purchase an official Tool live DVD set and forget it! BUT, to solve the problem of this "hock my soul because I am an asshole" turd, and I feel terrible for not pointing out this prick first thanks to optimistic-pessimist once again. I will give away the wonderfully digital sound re-masterd DVDs of the F.T. Worth, Tulsa, and OKC 2002 tours under the following conditions: 1. NO one buys anything not officially released by Tool, nor does anyone sale my FREE copies, if I ever catch them on the net, or ebay (and I am on ebay, other online auctions, and classifieds frequently) for any price I will stop doing this immediatly, and will make sure your mailing address is known world wide. I will just have to take your word that you won't sell Tool and myself out, which will be easy for me to do if you meet the other qualifying terms and conditions. 2. Optimistic-pessimist gets the first 3 DVD set, free of shipping and handling, and DVD-R purchase cost for pointing this out, and I will put a larger emphasis on the rush of these DVDs to evryone who thanks him, and shuns the sellout asshole on the review board, just e-mail me under the following instructions optimistic-pessimist if you want them. 3. Fans who want the set must pay for the cost of the DVDs, and the shipping, no exceptions. I will send a receipt for all sets that are given, so you will know I won't make a penny. 4. I will rush the delivery of all fans who offers some sort of incentive for my girlfriend for her working her ass off for hours of her re-mastering the sound. NO I am not profiting in anyway from this, I will actually lose out in time and money spent in making trips to send the sets off. But by no means would I let my girlfriend make possibly tons of DVDs and not have the possibility of recieving some sort of incentive. And I think optimistic-pessimist would agree this is a plausible offer, and DAMN sure not an attempt to use Tool for gain of money, I don't need to steal other peoples hard earned work, I work hard enough on my own. 5. Any other fans wishing to recieve the set will recieve them in the order of their e-mail and my extremely busy schedule, I am a counseling Psychologist, singer, musician, and loyal boyfriend all of which EATS most of my time. 6. All orders must be made through my Yahoo mail account, under the subject title "TOOL" and I will not ship until shipping cost, and the cost of the DVDs are paid for under any circumstance. There will be a communication period between you and I before the deal is made because of incentives for my girldfriend, shipping addresses, and any other issues that may arise. 7. If any official representative or band member of Tool proves themselves to be who they say they are and wish for me to stop the unprofitable shipments for any reason (hopefully because they come out with their own DVD live set). Shipments will halt immediatly , and all money spent on shipping or DVD costs during transactions at that time will be refunded. 8. Any of my terms are subject to change at any moment, other than if I have already recieved the money for the cost of the 3 recordable DVDs, and shipping and handling under the existing circumstances. That pretty much sums it up, I don't really look forward to doing this, nor will I offer this deal other than anywhere I see this asshole or another asshole like him making money off of someone elses art especially Tool. Who knows what kind of monster this can turn into. As much as I hate even mentioning it again incentive offers for my girlfriend's tireless labor for you and I will greatly speed up your e-mail response and shipping time from me depending on the offer, hell even I give her gifts or money she tries to turn them down but I have to sneak it on her for doing it for me, it's "good karma", kind of like not plucking up another man's well taken care of budded pot plant if you happen to stumble upon it in the woods! (very tempting, but I would never attempt). But in short she has her hands full enough with her work, school, and me as it is to be doing this for the satisfaction of ruining a guys capitolistic idea of pirating Tool's live experience. This is out of my hatred for him, not hers. This is the kind of asshole who if he became a rockstar he would hock a diet pepsi commercial. Other than that, fans who just plan on paying shipping and DVD costs can expect a possible 90 day or probable longer wait for a response from me, and possibly, but not likely that long of a waiting period for recieving the shipment after payment of the recordable DVDs and shipping costs. Truthfully I hope no one places an order from either one of us, but you can't beat free and digitally re-mastered by a pro so how's that for a FUCK YOU ass pirate? Tool has loyal fans, sorry you had to sacrifice the gas, tickets, hotels, and DVD recorders. Now go find a new profession, one that's original like the rest of us. ...........See you all on the other side. Todd

This was this reviewer's 9th Tool show

Once again my deepest apologies for the accidental multiple postings, especially to the webmaster. Sheesh, if you could just delete all but one of those postings, or all but my failsafe solution to the Tool pirate I would greatly apreciate it, this is the best Tool site by a longshot, I don't want to abuse it or ruin my good standings. I was by no means trying to correct a mistake, or attempting to be noticed by multiple postings. I was just a fucknut newbie on the review board, as you can see, I have it under control now. (bitch slaps self).
