A Review of the Fall 1996 Tour

Date: November 14

From: Arthur Takaoka (uatakaok@uxa.ecn.bgu.edu) I saw TOOL at the Aragon Ballroom on thursday Nov. 14th, and oh my my my! They fuckin rocked! They played just about as tight as I've ever heard a rock band play, and the rythym parts were incredible, i couldn't stand still. but what sucked was the bunch of losers who seemed to stand around, not really into the music at all! Me and my buds got a little dance area goin, moshin a bit, but mostly just getting into those heavy, heavy beats they got. You think theyre heavy comin out your stereo? When you feel it, literally, like I did that night, you go into whole different mode, man. Maynard James Keenan was incredible, wooing the crowd with his melodic, hypnotic lyrics, then making us go crazy with his all out throat rippin. The way he moves to the music gets you movin as well. The film clips they had goin were a trip too. A never ending tunnel, twisting and turning, during Stinkfist. And an awesome mix of video clips from the video, and prison sequences for Prison Sex. The whole experience was worth $100. And I know now that they are not a band you can afford to miss.
