A Review of the Fall 1996 Tour

Date: November 21

From: Two2067@aol.com Subject: review 11/21 hey Kabir, the site continues to rock. Okay, I saw TOOL 11/21 at Roseland, New York City. (this was the first night). There were way too many drunk, macho guys, but I didn't let it bother me. I was front and center, and the show was amazing. Maynard was the usual blue, with jockies, Justin(who MJK introduced as being French-Canadian) was like silvery with little rectangles painted all over him. Adam was just wearing brown pants, Danny was, well, behind the drums. MJK quotes include, "So this is New York.... It's been awhile....You seem excited." And he explained the cycle of abuse between Prison Sex & jimmy. Everything else he said was kinda muffled, plus this drunk was screaming right in my ear whenever Maynard would talk. The following setlist is just about accurate: Stinkfist 46 & 2 Swamp Song Eulogy Hooker Prison Sex jimmy Sober Pushit Opiate Aenema It was great to hear Swamp Song, and I'm glad Hooker is back in the lineup. The crowd was at it's rowdiest for Opiate. The new Sober intro was really cool. The whole show was great. I was exhausted and bruised afterwards, but it was well worth it. Oh, Psychotica opened. They tried to be all weird and scary but it didn't work for me. Everybody who goes to the second Roseland show, review it so I know what I missed. Thank you. jere
