Subject: review from tool consert thurs 19 universal amp 

this was the fist time I saw tool play live. dec. 19, 1996 

I feel that it is my duty to tell you how bad the opening band, 
psychotica was...I think they were just prics in highschool that never 
got beat up but they should have been... at the end of their performance 
I think they grinded out every shreeking sound they could from what they 
were playing and left us all with totaly horible ear peercing crap, just 
because they were pissed cause they knew we hated them! 

ON TO TOOL!!!!

The lights went out slowly and a loud dark humming begain to fill our 
ears. the twin screens in the back of the stage got lit up with the image 
of the front cover of aenema.(the white square with the flames burning 
out from the inside)a few moments later the whole band walked out as one 
and started there instruments.. maynard walked out to the center of the 
stage and just stood there staring out into the croud... i could of swore 
he was staring at me (haha) but I'm sure everyone out there felt the same 
way...he was painted blue on his right side and white on his left wearing 
only boxers. he stood there until the music got going. Then
it looked to me like he was getting a feel for the musics vibration and 
then slowly begain to twich and shake and roll and dance until everypart 
of his body was flowing with movement. he acted like he -was- the music! 
I had never seen anything like it before this night... totaly cool

and he sang the song in german

and thats all i can remember, i know they played more but im stupid and 
can't remember them all (sorry)

two songs from the end I think it was...they played us an interesting and 
really funny christmas cartoon having to do with a few kids from all 
walks of life comming in contact with jesus who came to kick santas ass! 
the kids take jesus to santa and jesus and santa have a brawl until they 
realize they both need each other to keep christmas alive. the kids then 
decide that the winter holidays are about presants and the jewish child 
states that he recives many days of presants and so they all count 
themselves in as new found jews- the end 

TOOL
... i guess all i have to say is that i have an even greater respect for 
tool now that i have seen them live. I think this because they played 
perfect and i could tell they -loved- to play their music. I love their 
music.....maynard was very damn into the music and just watching his 
hypnotic dancing to the music made everything cool 

remember vote MAYNARD for president.

a tool fan...

i know my review aint the best....but its honest and all i thought was 
really important
