This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

I last saw Tool play 5 years ago in Brisibane, Australia for their Ænima tour. I missed them when they came over last year so getting a ticket to see them play in Tokyo was a big event. I wasn't sure of what to expect mainly from the Japanese fans. Sometimes I have enough trouble following what Tool are talking about let alone hearing them in another language. Apprehension was quickly dispelled as the crowd really got into the show. Tool themselves, well I don't need to describe this so much apart from phenominal... The venue was perfect, lettting me stand 3m from the stage and really watch the show without getting pushed and shoved. I can say that after waiting and building them up in my head for the last 5 years, Tool had a lot to live up to. Yet they did it with ease. The new Paraobola video was pretty special as well. Hope everyone else that sees them on this tour enjoys it as much as I did.

This was this reviewer's 8th Tool show

The first reviewer was once again incorrect...again, wasn't there...they didn't play Stinkfist the second night...Anyway, Maynard was wearing the coolest headdress...all black, dreadlock-looking Predator type hair, Borg-like red laser for a right eye...fly as bro... Especially enjoyed Prison Sex, Sober, and Maynard was excellent on the Patient. Maynard didn't speak at all. Danny smiled alot with both Justin and Adam...looked like they were all having a good.time. (I think the show on the 11th was better than the 10th.) Finally, went to the bathroom after the show and it was inside the barrier to get backstage...probablt 20 people waiting to get back there. I waited around and talked to some girl...with the band and after seeing pictures of Danny's birthday party on another website, I think she may be Danny's chick or at least a friend...anyway, talked to her...really cool chick...I you're are reading this, thanks nice chat...woulda been alot cooler if you let me backstage but...I know, I know... Anyway, thanks TOOL...if you can, come back for Fuji Rock this year too.

This was this reviewer's 3rd Tool show

4/11 SETLIST as follows: The Grudge (-)Ions Stinkfist (extended) 4‹ Parabol Parabola Schism Sober Disposition Reflection (Parabol/Parabola video) Triad (w/Reiko of "Tokyo Pinsalocks" on percussion) Eon Blue Apocalypse The Patient Lateralus MJK was wearing the Oakley-MEDUSA throughout the show. He even had it on after the intermission, when he came out in his box shorts. Besides that, they were dressed normally ...well, almost. Adam started with his shoes on, took off his shoes after a few songs and played in white socks. During the intermission, he changed into black socks. I wonder what that was all about? Justin had this tiny anime-figure of a girl playing bass-guitar in front of his effector...I didn't think he was that type. Danny was Danny. MJK sang Elvis's "Suspicious Minds" instead of "Chupa minga pica pichu" during "Stinkfist". Seeing them two nights back to back, "Triad" has become my favorite live song. This night, they had a girl named Reiko from a Japanese indies band "Tokyo Pinsalocks" perform percussions on "Triad". She stood playing on MJK's platform facing Danny, and MJK played guitar BEHIND the little screen, showing only his silhouette. So it was like Danny, Adam, Justin, Reiko and MJK's shadow performing "Triad". It was supreme.
