This was this reviewer's ??? Tool show

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist, jerkass. Hey there, gl. This was an amazing show of an appeal yet-to-be seen...you see, you people write in with these pick and peel stickers for reviews, there is no originality or layers upon thick and juicy layers of substance. Maybe speaking of Adam bouncing his head to a new beat or cymbal change in The Patient would be a dispensable remark upon the band and her aura. Anyways, looking forward to the Las Vegas show...will be wearing a shirt that says - A. Pissoff -

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

Great show, very impressing. It was my first and I was surprised how good they played those complex songs live. Especially the drummer did a great job. I donīt remember the exact setlist, but they played everything from Lateralus except "The Patient" and "Parabol" plus "Stinkfist", "H." and "Aenima".

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

the show was perfect, they just totally impressed me again. after the support act pablo had left the stage a slow ambient music was played to get everyone in the right mood (though i bet this wasn't necessary :) ). the lights were still on as suddenly danny entered the stage with a basketball shirt to play a mini drum solo. while he was playing, justin entered, then adam already with his guitar in his hands. suddenly danny began to play the intro of ticks & leeches and the light show began.then maynard entered the stage, all blue with red spots all over his body. it seem that nearly everyone in the concert hall sang the words to it, the vibe was really amazing. they surprised me by improvising here and there during the concert with extended middle parts in ticks & leeches (different from the album version's middle part) and schism. when they played 4° and H they really got me, because i didn't expect to ever hear these songs live! another surprise was the missing parabol before parabola and the missing extended outro of reflection, because as soon as the actual song was finished, they left the stage quickly. then the usual parabol/parabola video was played, but unfortunately the sound was way too low. while the last 20 seconds of the video were played, danny entered the stage again starting to play a little solo again which turned into the rhythm of triad. because the parabola video was quite low the live sound now seemed even louder and powerful than before and with the additional drumming of a person which maynard introduced as 'sascha, a former of uriah heep' ;), the song sounded almost better than on the album. i didn't know that this was possible! during ænema the crowd went crazy, singing and shouting all over the place. they finished their set with lateralus and the famous group hug, danny's arm was blue after hugging maynard! all in all the group's performance was perfect, like a clockwork, with no weak point at all (what can i say, it was a TOOL show!), whether in their playing nor in the setlist, which was by the way (in correct order): 01 - ticks & leeches (extended) 02 - the grudge 03 - 4° -- (-) ions -- 04 - stinkfist (extended) 05 - parabola (no parabol) 06 - schism (extended) 07 - H 08 - disposition 09 - reflection (no extended outro) -- intermission: parabol/parabola video) 10 - triad (with additional drummer) 11 - ænema 12 - lateralus my ears are still ringing. i reckon this was the last show in germany for a long time. i cannot hardly wait!

This was this reviewer's 20th Tool show

Hi, as to me this Tool show was something like a jubilee, i wanted to make it to the venue early so that i can get to the front row. So me and the guys that i have already mentioned in one or another review before (to round it up somehow i should mention that the Columbiahalle was the place i met those two for the first time almost one year ago) arrived there, coming from Braunschweig, at 4 am. We put out our sleeping bags and slept for a few hours, directly in front of the entrance door (i know thatīs crazy, but hey, itīs for Tool...). So finally i got to stand directly in front of Justin for the whole show, and itīs not that easy to find the right words to discribe what itīs like to be that close to the guys at a show. They still make me stand there with open mouth, while i almost forget to breath, like it was when i saw them for the very first time back in 1993. I could have just watched the expressions in Justinīs face (You really can see his skin move, mouth, chin and eyes) all the time, see him closing his eyes while playing or watching the faces in the crowd. Danny did his uncompareable drumming with closed eyes as well, from time to time, i think. And he really made me shake my body in some kind of spasmatic way from time to time, with his groove, i would say. Hope that doesnīt sound strange, i just try to describe my feelings somehow. Maynard again was very active, beeing painted in purple with little pink dots glowing in the dark, only the right side of his body was spotted very lightly with blacklight. Adam was quite like showing no expression at all, except for the moment, when Sasha left the stage after Triad. When they gave each other a hug, i saw Adam smile for a moment. Tonight Maynard introduced Sasha as a former member of Uriah Heep, which made me laugh, because at Rock Am Ring he introduced him as the former backup drummer of Duran Duran and in Braunschweig it was Styxx. This show was my last Tool clubshow for a few years, i think, and it was a very special one in a very beautiful venue, the first venue for me to see Tool play at twice, regarding last yearīs show at the Columbiahalle. Driving all the way from Düsseldorf to Braunschweig then to Berlin and back without sleeping much was all worth it, i would do that every time again. CU in Antwerpen Patrick

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Awesome. After two days, words still can not descibe my feelings, it was so familiar and overwhelmingly warm. Again I felt like they were only play for me. Thank you Tool. I love you.

Cheerio Berlin! I smiled way too often on this concert. This music is just so good. Makes me feel so happy. Is this it? This is it! Please, keep it a habit of Tools returning here once a year. I could get used to that. Thank you.
