This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Another awesome performance by Tool. Here was tonight's setlist: Sober The Grudge Stinkfist H. Schism Parabol Parabola Eon Blue Apocalypse The Patient Ænema --- Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus I was thoroughly pleased to hear H., as they don't play it at every show. The Patient was also nice to hear. Danny was getting just crazy towards the end, and Triad was exceptionally powerful. One of the guys from Tomahawk came on for that, helped add to the spectacle. I was in a daze during all of Triad, it was just perfect. At some point in the first few songs (after either Stinkfist or H.), Maynard said to the crowd something like, "Thank you for sharing this experience with us, and for reminding us why we do what we do." I think they were really digging the people there. Justin was moving to the music a lot by the time we got to Triad, and Danny was doing some CRAZY stuff during Lateralus, made it way better than normal. I only wish I had been able to hear Forty-six & 2 (at least I got that in D.C., October 5 last year), and I BADLY wanted either version of Pushit. Still, I have such a high right now, it's amazing. As usual, Maynard gave these words before closing with Lateralus - "Remember this feeling you have right now, and in the years to come, use it to create something positive." Another great show, guys. Looking forward to many more.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

One word, unbelievable. I've never seen Tool before and I've listened to them ever since Opiate. I read just about every setlist on this site from this tour so I could somewhat know what to expect... although they did throw a few curve balls in there which was nice. I can't remember exactly what the list was but heres to the best of memory: 1. Sober 2. The Grudge 3. Ions 4. Stinkfist 5. Schism 6. H. 7. Parabol / Parabola 8. Aenima 9. Intermission 10. Eon Blue Apocolypse 11. The Patient 12. Disposition 13. Reflection 14. Triad 15. Lateralus It had to be the best show I have ever seen in my life, minus the fact that I think Tomahawk was the worst band I have ever seen. The lights were awsome during ever song... especially during Lateralus. During Lateralus when he would say "Black and White are all I see in my infancy see" The lights flooded the arena with black and white. Then when he would say "Red and yellow came to me..." all the lights would change to red and yellow... bad ass. I couldnt believe they dropped H. and Aenima... they were very very nice. Maynard was painted blue in his underwear with a bright orange on his arms. Wow im trying to remember everthing I saw but there was sooo much. The new visuals were nice as hell with the new back drops by Alex Grey. Once Parabol started those Parabola balls floated behind the set and the one behind Maynard kept comin down on him... I think I was a little upset haha. Well all I have to say is that if you have a chance to see them it's a must for anyone. I enjoyed the show and now it's nite-nite time cause im a little out of breath. Good nite to all....

Flawless show! By Tool, that is. I'm sorry, but Mike Patton needs to get a job. He apparantly didn't like the few boos he was getting, so he finished their set with some amazing feedback-microphone screeching that not only sucked but hurt the ears a bit. Tomahawk sucks BAD, Tool rules. Tool came on with some impressive energy. Maynard was all over the place, writhing around and jumping. Justin was jamming the whole show, and Adam was more animated than the last time I saw them. Danny, as usual, just kicked ass. Stunning visuals, with dual video screens, Alex Grey artwork, great lights, and even the mirrorball for Lateralus. The crowd was pretty subdued, but loud in the perfect small venue. Tool puts on the best show I've ever seen. Go see them. Sorry, no cutesie little fake set list.

This was this reviewer's 10th Tool show

What a differance a day makes. Normal set list for the most part. Except they play H instead of Fourty Six & 2 and the patient got played tonight, which was left out of the Richmond set. Tomahawk played and inspired set and where much tighter and sound was pretty good. Turned the end of Cats in the Bag into an experment with feedback that was a treat. Brough out the boo-birds but some of us loved it. They went down pretty well for the most part with the floor crowd. As for Tool the sound was about 100% better then last night. Everything was clicking and with cutting through soon after the start of the set and was pretty clear though-out the show. Adam Justin and Danny where spot on and seem to be in the mood. The greatest diffrence from the two nights where Adam seem to be in a better mood and was playing his ass of. He rip of a blazing solo in Laturalus that was a departure from his normal style. I don't think i have ever seen him pick that many notes ever. He seemed to be inspired to let it all hang out, very tasty. Then there was the return to the painted Maynard. Thats right kids covered in dark blue with orange dots and lines and spedo underware, He was a nice balance of the newer more fluid version and the stomping thrash version of old. It was good to see some the old flare come back into his stage performance and was burning with passion that was missing in last night show. He sang great as always but was realy getting into the performace and meening of the words tonight. It reminded me of way NOBODY even comes close to this guy when he is on. There is a reason why we go out of our way to catch these guys in concert and tonight was a shinning example of why we do. It was one of my friends first Tool show and he was blow away by them. It was good to see another person won over by the sheer power and talent this band brings to there performance. Side note why would anyone pay 30+ dollars to come see a band wait for the a beautiful introspective moment of amazing song and start to run there fucking mouths. Shut up we don't wont to hear you or anything you have to say and we reserve the right to tell you so and be rude. Your ruining the show for those of us that music is a magical experance and your blah blah blah is annoying and pointless. Stay home turn up you CD to loud as you can and talk to you friends there. Most of us are there to hear the band.

I recently got back, and I have to say it was a spectacular show. They played all great songs, it was like a dream setlist, and they were just amazing. All the backdrops, banners, stars, confetti, lights, videos, balloon things and everything were spectacular. The band also really sounded good. Best of all, I got the set list at the end of the show...

It was another wonderful performance by tool. It is of great pleasure to have seen them a fourth time this evening. The others posted the set list and they played their songs with great energy. This is my 3rd concert on this tour . I saw the in Salt Lake City and Bossier City too... Can't wait till the 13th... Their energy did seem on the up and they moved more than I had seen before on this tour. GO TO SEE A TOOL SHOW! they are awesome live, yay for tool!

Sober The Grudge Stinkfist H. Schism Parabol Parabola AEnima Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus This was, to the best of my memory, the setlist. Tomahawk opened, and was not too well recieved by the Baltimore crowd. Mike's vocals were of poor sound quality, and not everyone was too into the synth effects. The set was OK at best. Then came Tool. You could feel the anticipation of the others in the crowd. The band took the stage, and began to play the opening of Sober, and when the vocals came it, Maynard appeared in the shadows, and sang good. It wasn't untill they played The Grudge, though, that Maynard's vocals reached their peak. They then went into Stinkfist (YAY!!) which was an EXTREMELY powerful live piece. The pits began to get their most violent during a strong performance of H. where the crowd became their most energetic. They then played Schism, then Parabol/Parabola, which they played a bit too fast, and ended up getting ahead of the video. The night hit it's energetic peak when they ripped the concertgoers a new asshole with a stunning performance of AEnema. The night then took a more trippier and spiritual vibe when they played Disposition and Reflection, and a high-energy rendition of Triad. They closed the night with Lateralus, which they did a great job of. The band members than came together in a group hug on stage, and proceeded to toss of water bottles, drumsticks, etc. All in all, a GREAT first Tool experience. I will be seeing this band every time they come to the area now :) Well, I just got home from the show 20 minutes ago, so I need to go get some sleep in.

Well the first word that comes to mind when i think about the Superiority of the show is Toolicious. To begin i found it most amusing when the whole crowd booed Tomahawk. Tomahawk were'nt as bad as suspected but after 3 songs and when the singer began to go heavy on the effects they were easy to hate. Another funny thing was how the crowd cheered when the fog came out of back stage and when the lights went out and when the blue lights came on and finally when tool arrived. The crowd erupted a final great uproar when maynard began his insanely fantabulous dances which i thought were the highlight of the show before sober started. Suprised to see Maynard with what i declared a bass dublifying the bass put out by justin. Crazy drumming acheived by danny and the drummer from tomahawk during triad. And who could forget adam strenulously picking up and down the six string pick up barrier. Great parts of the show for me H., Anema , Latueralus, and the beautiful timing on the entire set. The only disapointment of the show although could have never ruined the experience was the absence of the high vocals in stinkfist where he sings If i really dont feel anything at all. But ahh you tripped me up maynard on stinkfist at Ill keep digging. And for my final input dance dance dance and dont stop MJK. The Delicous Setlist Sober The Grudge Stinkfist H. Schism Parabol Parabola Eon Blue Apocalypse The Paitient Aenema ----------- Intermission ----------- Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus

Bad ass show, despite the presence of Fantomas..err... Tomahawk...err..Mike Patton making noise and feedback for 30 minutes. Once Tool came out, the crowd was awesome...much better than in DC last October. People in Baltimore actually knew the words to sing along. Great vibe all night. Set list: Sober The Grudge (-) ions Stinkfist (w/ extended bridge) H (real treat, since they didn't play it in DC) Schism Parabol / Parabola Eon Blue Apocalypse The Patient AEnima (by far the best crowd reaction!) -Intermission- Disposition / Reflection / Triad Lateralis I was pleased to hear Sober and H, since they weren't played last fall (although I do miss Pushit). There were a disproportionate number of sweaty. shirtless men who all felt the need to mosh during Reflection, and I had the pleasure of being next to some girl on X who only wanted to make- out with her boyfriend all night. But my friend and I let a crowd surfer drop, so it's all good.

This was this reviewer's 3rd Tool show

My third Tool show was absolutly breathtaking. I saw them in richmond on the 9th and i have to say this show was much better. I missed Tomahawk for the Richmond show, but as a huge Mike Patton fan, i made sure to see them for this show. Contrary to what most people seem to be saying I thought they were excellent. Patton is insane on stage and lots of fun to watch. On to Tool. I wasnt AS impressed with this show as i was when i saw them last year, but that may have been due to the fact that it was my first time seeing them. The amount of emotional energy was just as strong however, although it seemed like they played the songs that would appeal to the masses more than last your. I was upset that they didnt play pushit but other than that, the setlist was dead on. The intermission was not as "cool" as it was last year, but the animation on the screen was fantastic. I couldnt take my eyes of it throughout the intermission at both shows. On a slightly different note, I was on the floor for the richmond show and in the seats for this show. Also, i was in the seats for the show i saw last year, and I must say, i was able to enjoy the concert much more fully in the seats rather than having my buttoks kicked around in the pits that seem to migrate their way towards me no matter where i stood. Plus, I could see better. As I said before, breathtaking show, but with Tool, could they do any less? NOTE: i didnt see any reason to post a set listt because the ones at the top seem accurate. Thank you Maynard for touching me in ways that no one else can.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Nope, I wasn't going to miss this. Tomahawk: I liked them before they played a note, because, well…I was mollified by that fucking plastic deer! They emerged in police gear (Mike P. and another guy in CHIPs' dark blue outfits, drummer and other in ticket -giver white) and they made sonic goodness. Variations in intensity that you don't get just anywhere. Officer Mike works hard for the money, pulling that stuff from somewhere deep, and shot-putting the goods right out there for your consideration. He threw a voice synthesizing thing on his face (looked like an oxygen mask) and did a little business. He waved his hand over his equipment and the tone mimicked the movement of his hand. He banged his mic around. He didn't abuse the crowd, and for the most part, they didn't abuse him. He asked us to say "John Waters" (I've met him - nice, weird dude), and at the end, thanked us for paying attention. Tool: The list is up. Did we get the "love you too much baby" lyrics tonight? We got something extra, but I couldn’t distinguish it from the shit seats. Somebody help me here. Everything you've read before happened again tonight. They've got more roadies than God, and lots of dirty dollars to spend on fun visual distractions. Alex Grey's stunning artwork appeared on the back curtain and rolled down, tapestry-style, from the ceiling throughout the show. It adds a welcome layer to the experience. Mostly, the videos were more art school than film school; they looked like: a snake eating itself over and over, a dental school student's wet dream, and tons more wacky video art that I can't remember. You'll need Dramamine to watch the dude that appears on the screen during intermission. The video is something superfluous to engage your peripheral vision while the rest of you is trying to soak up every ounce of live heat burning off that stage. Yes to the confetti (red, pretty), the lit wires, and the two big balls floating down in back of the stage things. (What do they look like? A zygote that's divided several times - two morula, if you will, or two fucked-up versions of the grape Fruit of the Loom man.) Maynard: In the undies from the word Go. No strip down. Just bathing trunks, and painted like the member of the Blue Man Group that no one wants to talk about. Sorry I don't have more. If Officer Friendly at the door hadn't banished my binoculars to the car, I could've told you whether or not M was Jewish. He was in the dark in the back like last time. The video from the projectors appeared on the floor beneath him. He writhed like nobody's business. Kids, don't bitch that Maynard is gypping you because he didn't look at you or sing your favorite song (mine - 4 Degrees, didn't get it). I can tell you that that child is going to have a sore back tomorrow and the next day, and every day after he does what he did out there. Crouching, thrusting, pawing forward like a cat who hasn't gotten the word that he was declawed; he's putting in a full day. Oh, but I have to admit, he's not much for stimulating conversation: "Baltimore? Are you sure?" (Thank God he didn't go on to do the hackneyed comparing us to other cities routine. Yes, M, we're fucking sure it's Baltimore- when we didn't see the palm trees, we knew we weren't in Miami.) Same nice speeches: Thanks for reminding us why we do this; do something positive. The only variation: he thanked the extra drummer guy who came out for Triad, saying he was their tarot card reader, and something else, and the dude has his own cable access show with LaToya and Dionne Warwick. He wore the guitar thing at various points, and I believe he had a bass on Triad (sorry, I'm inept describing this area - not a musician). He's contributing more and more with the instruments. When he plays, he's still. It's strange (in a nice kinda way) to see a half-naked blue man methodically holding his instrument. Musically, Adam, Justin, Danny - flawless, at least from the nosebleeds. The guitar boys did their usual men in black, hair in face thing. Justin was really into Triad. If he wasn't getting off, he can fake it better than the girls; I was adequately fooled. Danny wore his Kansas jersey- CAREY on the back, #22 - that would be the jersey of University of Kansas former reserve player, JEFF CAREY (clever…any relation?) for you other basketball fans out there. Like I said, I don't know music, but you don't have to be an expert to see that that boy is gifted. Hell, they all are. They are on top of their game now. They gave us a great show. Wrapping up: They did the hug; they threw goodies; Maynard left first; the others lingered a bit longer, then followed. I hope the band rests after this, and refills the creative well a little. They are so damn good. I just want it to last and last. Enjoy the rest of the shows. :)

The first thing I would like to share would be that this was the most amazing expierience I have ever had at a concert. I have seen alot of great shows, but this by far tops them all. No one can compare to the artistic ability and integrity of the mighty Tool. The visuals, Alex Grey backdrops, light show, songs, and Maynard in full body paint made this my favortie concert ever. Maynard was also more talkative this time around. Said some funny things, especially about the drummer from Tomahawk being a psychic with Latoya Jackson and Dione Warwick. Great times indeed. Thank you Tool! You guys keep my faith in great music and art. Oh, if anyone can tell me what the music is that is played across the p.a. system right before the lights turn off and they hit the stage , please. Thanks!

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

The setlist is already posted, so I won't bore you all with that. Absolutely incredible, blew away my first Tool concert (which was the Philly show on their fall 2001 tour). Tomahawk wasn't as bad as Fantomas was, but that's not saying much. The drums were pretty good and they were relatively well- recieved, at least on the floor. Personally I thought they were pretty bad, with Mike Patton's feedback experiment being pretty annoying. Patton closed his thankfully-short set by saying 'Thank you for paying attention! We're Tomahawk, whooo!" and he gave a salute. I wish I'd caught Tool when they had an opening act I actually wanted to see, like King Crimson or Tricky. A bit of a scare to start as a guy who's obviously fucked up on some drug (Shrooms? X?) is standing in front of me and my brother. He keeps moving around and is obviously out of it, for a minute I thought he was going to turn around and do some crazy shit but he just wandered off, thankfully. Sober was great to hear live but I think The Grudge was a better opener, oh well. The show started good and just got better and better. Maynard really likes fucking with the fans, getting them to scream along with choruses but delaying so their timing is off. He did this with both the "I'll keep digging until I feel something" part of Stinkfist, and the "I don't mind" near the end of H. H. was amazing live, too; one of my favourite Tool songs so it was a nice touch, and good luck on my part since they seem to be alternating that with 46&2 (which I have already seen live). After H. (I may be off with the timing), Maynard said his first words of the evening: "Baltimore? ::Crowd cheers:: Baltimore? ::Crowd cheers louder:: Are you sure? ::More cheering ensues with some cries of 'Yes!'" Parabol/Parabola were played faster than usual, but still good. The Cancer Balls came out at this point, with one swinging dangerously low to Maynard. Aenima came as a total surprise to me and most of the crowd too; I don't remember seeing it on setlists but maybe I just wasn't paying attention? Oh well. At some point around this time in the show, a guy bursts through the floor holding his girlfriend, with several of their friends rushing behind them. Looks like she got sick or something, they bowled a ton of people out of the way and it looked fairly serious. Intermission had a cool video of a guy having his skull leave his body. The band returned with my personal favourite part of the show- Disposition. Hell, the entire second half was incredible and one of the best experiences of my life. Disposition got the extended treatment, awesome guitar portions that outshined even Maynard's vocals. Reflection was also extended and it was FUCKING AMAZING. There was a whole setup with Alex Gray's art, the entire Lateralus album booklet set up on single screens with elaborate lighting and the usual cool video stuff on the double screens. I may have said this before, but the band was so together and energetic tonight that it was amazing. Triad followed Reflection, yet another song in extended form. I'm certainly not complaining. The only talented member of Tomahawk, the drummer, joins Tool for this set and he tears it up. Triad had the floor going crazy, although there was very little moshing by this point. They played around a bit before letting the song really explode, building the crowd's anticipation and reaction. Maynard took the mic and made a joke (!) about the guy from Tomahawk being the resident psychic who can be seen on late-night TV alongside LaToya Jackson and Dionne Warwick. Maynard seemed to be in quite a good mood tonight; the whole band seemed to be digging the crowd's reaction, too. There was a point early on in the show (before Eon Blue Apocalypse/The Patient?) where Maynard thanked us for reminding him why he does what he does. After the usual (but still relevant) comments about focusing our energy from the current moment to doing something good, Tool broke into Lateralus as the final song of the evening. Amazing stuff, I have several bootlegs and I've never heard it played this well live. Adam was doing lots of badass guitar stuff here, and there was a really swank spot near the end where the band stopped in unison for half a second before going into the 'Ride the Spiral to the end' portion that closes the song. The floor exploded, like they did for most of the night. Tool got a well-deserved and lengthy ovation after the show, and did the usual throwing out of water bottles, T-shirts and drum sticks. I wanted to snag a T-shirt but didn't; there were some sweet looking Lateralus shirts for sale but I'm not paying $30. The drugged-up fellow I saw at the show's start makes another appearance; he's no longer wearing a shirt and he's pretty cut up as well. This wasn't a concert- it's an EXPERIENCE. It's impossible to describe to someone who hasn't seen it. The obvious solution, of course, is to go see Tool in concert. I don't think I'd ever get tired of seeing them live. Finally, if the guy in the line outside Baltimore Arena is reading this, you're cool for wearing a Dream Theater shirt. -Patrick

So yes.. .we all know this concert was amazing. They played Lateralus to close, as was expected, and since this is my favorite song of all time, and they have closed both shows I have been to with it, I was pleased. Parabola was amazing live. H. was very cool to hear live, as I didn't hear it at the DC show last october. Bad point, I wish they would vary their set list more from concert to concert. But it was an awesome show. And Tomahawk is HORRID... almost as bad as fantomas, who were the worst band ever in concert. I love Tool though. Thank god for Maynard

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

the show was incredible...my first concert I was up in the mezzanine, the difference between that and the floor is incredible. It was a completely different experience of the music and the emotions it provokes in different people. I saw people crying, laughing, screaming, their faces twisted in pain or anger. I was amazed by the range of emotions I myself felt, from the tears in the patient and reflection, to the rage in aenima. It's like tool turns human emotion into music, then feeds it back to you, multiplied tenfold. There are enough setlists, I don't need to add one. There's no point in complaining about what I wanted to see; I love all the songs, and there will always be another you wish they had played. The enthusiasm of the fans is another amazement. There were several times when, to my ears, our singing drowned out maynard. I saw several people with tool- inspired tattoos, (lateralus eye, alex grey art,) and of course, tons of tool t-shirts. Not to sound prissy, but I wonder what people are trying to show by wearing the t-shirts to the concert. If you're at the concert, you most likely like tool, is the shirt just extra proof the everyone? Sorry, personal pet peeve. The only thing that dampered my experience (though very slightly) was the mosh pits. EVERY SONG some few people decided they needed a mosh pit. (Mind, most of the people looked to be under the influence of something or other.) Strangely, one of the biggest pits was during reflection, which isn't really a moshing song...but I suppose everyone reacts differently to tool, although it is sort of annoying to have to struggle to keep from getting knocked over, instead of enjoying the music. Man, I didn't mean to talk this much...ah well. Overall, the show was beyond anything I could describe. Those who were there are the only ones who can know what it felt like. Oh yeah, visually, it was also unbelievable. The lights, the videos, maynard bright blue and orange, awesome. Anywho, it was AWESOME. I can't wait to go again, luckily my first two were within a year, I hope they don't take a 3 year break or some such...man, I talked too much.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. I'm floored. Just floored by what I've missed live. They are just beyond comparison. The music is flawless, the performances amazing. I hate to gush, but it's just scary how awesome they are. I'm just glad I got to experience Aenema, Reflection, Triad (jaw-dropplingly good) and Parabola live. On the other side, everyone says the crowd was so into it, but to me, it wasn't that loud, that feverish or that awe- struck. Maybe it's 'cause it was my first, and everyone else was use to it. All I know is I was singing every damn line, and couldn't get enough. I know I'll never hear it live, but if only I'd heard Euology.

This was this reviewer's 5th Tool show

Well, 5 shows down and I had a great time yet again... Setlist has been accurately posted so I won't repeat it, but here's the highlights of my day. TOMAHAWK - I met all four members while they were on the street walking into the building, but I was most interested in meeting Mike Patton and John Stanier since I'm a big fan of FNM, Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, and Helmet. They were both really nice, and I was talking to them for a bit before they went in to soundcheck. They all came out dressed up as cops again, and rocked the audience off its ass. I don't know who thought they were getting a bad reception, but from what I saw on the floor (I was at the barricade directly in front of Mike), people were digging it. Some guy yelled out "You guys suck!" and Duane Denison's (Tomahawk guitarist) response was something along the lines of "So does your mother, that's why you call me daddy." TOOL - Maynard busted out the retro 97-98 look. He was wearing a speedo and painted blue from head to toe with a bunch of glow in the dark paint designs on his face, the right side of his chest, and his left arm and leg. They were orange, green, yellow, and red(almost neon colored) and they looked to me like they were supposed to (somewhat) resemble the designs on the guy in the Lateralus album cover. The look he had tonight was just about the freakiest thing I've ever seen him do. He was writhing/dancing around like mad the whole night, I've never seen him that energetic with Tool in person, just on video bootlegs. Quick observation from somebody who was down in front: the guy who played drums on Triad wasn't John from Tomahawk (as he did the night before in Richmond), it was Danny's drum tech. I know this because I saw him onstage taking off the tarp from Danny's drumkit (which got a huge cheer from the audience) and he sat behind it to test everything. I forgot the guy's name, but after the song Maynard said that you could see him on his cable access show with Dionne Warwick and Latoya Jackson. Highlights of the night were H. Ænema, and Disposition/Reflection/Triad. H. was cool to watch because I'd never seen it before tonight and I wanted to hear it when I read it was making an occasional appearance on the nightly set. The crowd was fairly well-behaved tonight as well, although there were a few scary moments where I was squished against the barrier. During Parabol, there was an abnormaly high number of crowd-surfers going around which annoyed the fuck out of me.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. Setlist: Sober The Grudge (-) Ions Stinkfist H. Parabol Parabola Eon Blue Apocalypse The Patient Aenima ---Intermission--- Disposition Reflection Triad (guy from Tomahawk on the Roto Toms) Lateralus I've been reading reviews for the last few weeks and this show was nothing short of what most people have been saying --- TOOL is amazing. They could have played in a dimly lit, empty hall and I still would've enjoyed it the same. However, they didn't. Aside frome the four of them being increddible musicians, the actual show is something in and of itself. The videos, artwork, and lights just enhanced everything. This is the first time i've seen TOOL, yet i would recommend this tour to anyone. Definitwly worth the drive down from Philadelphia. By the way... watching Maynard is the show within the show.

Enjoyable show. I thought it was interesting to see how much they've changed the visuals since I'd seen them last year. Kind of a variation on a theme. The horrible acoustics of the Baltimore Arena were about the only drawback. I was surprised to hear them lead off with Sober. I prefer the Grudge as a song to start things off... it does an awesome job of kicking things off. The crowd was really into the music which was cool. The chick in the seat beside me was either really feeling it, or she was just high on somethin', because she was screaming & flailing the whole time.

One word for this show. AMAZING !!!!! From the moment the music started I was blown away. here's the set list Sober The Grudge Stinkfist Parabol ( the whole song) Parabola H ( great song to hear live) Aenema ( very good) Intermission Desposition Reflection Triad ( this song was sooooooo good live) Lateralis Maynard was dressed to impress as usual, black speedo with his body painted a grayish blue and what looked like spots on his head ( I might be wrong about the makeup) The visuals were outstanding. The crowd was great ( I was sitting with my fellow fans who were seeing them for the first time so the vibe was good), and the band was nothing less than perfect.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. That was a cool show last night. You'd think after playing 3 nights in a row the band would be ready to breakdown, but not TOOL. They brought a shitload of energy (well, compared to other shows) and played with their hearts. Highlights were definitely H. and Triad for me. And the effects during The Patient were also cool. After Lateralus they all stood together onstage and hugged. Brought a tear to my eye. Actually, it didn't but it was still cool to see that. They seemed to then stay onstage longer than usual just taking in the moment at good ole ghetto Baltimore Arena.

Tomahawk...what can I say? They kicked ass. They crowd really didnt like them at this show. Lots, and lots of booing. But I dont care, I think thats funny. I have to ask a question to all you "Tool" fans...if you hate the band so much, why do you sit there and boo them? Thats like going to a Backstreet boys show, and just sitting there and booing them. I would simply walk out. So I dont have to sit there and watch them. Tomahawks Set- Flashback 101 North God Hates A Coward Pop 1 Improv. Birdsong Sir Yes Sir Honeymoon Laredo Point And Click I also think that all the "new" Tool fans are very cool. I sat next to about 5 or 6 people that looked very bored the whole time. The 3 people behind me were even talking though the whole Tool set(VERY VERY ANNOYING). There was this couple behind me, that were pretty much making out the whole time, UNTIL SCHISM. They then stoped, listened, and then left after the song was over. VERY COOL. The highlights of the Tool set had to be H., and Triad.

Hey you! Quit fucking complaining about Tool not playing "your" song! Yes, there were a couple I wish I could've heard, but oh well. If you really feel like you got screwed out of your money, please, for the sake of all of us, get a life. Really. Be thankful they're busting their asses to play what they play and develop such an intricate stage show. Hello. As you can imagine, Tool totally blew and really need to give up. Christ, what a waste of $50. Why did I torture myself...*SMACK* *SMACK* Oh, sorry. Yes, Tool was good. Yes, they were tighter than a snare drum shoved up David Lee Roth's asshole. Yes, "Triad" was so good that I'll personally hunt down all of 'em if they don't release it some day. (Hell, they'd better release the entire show!) Yes, I enjoyed Tomahawk and was surprised to see them get a decent reception on the floor. Yes, a big "Fuck you!" to my school for scheduling exams such that I couldn't make it to Huntington and Richmond. No, I don't understand why the guy beside me needed to get head from his girlfriend during "Disposition" and make out with her for most of the show. Ummm...can't make up my mind regarding whether or not the D.C. show was better. Before I go, one last thing. After the show was over, after the group hug and Maynard leaving, the rest of the guys stayed on stage for a minute cheering for us. It was such a sweet touch. I don't recall them doing it in D.C. and don't know if it's normal for the show or if they really thought the crowd deserved it. Either way, I've been to over 20 shows and have never seen a band do that. Great way to end the show. Now, if only I could find a way to get to New Jersey....

last night I caught TOOL for the 5th time in Baltimore. I must say, the first time i saw Tool, was in Philly in 1992, at a some pub called J.C. Doobs, now they selling out huge arenas. From a small bar to the Baltimore Arena, They still leave me AMAZED after every show. The new stage set (from my last show Philly 2001) is great. If you havnt seen TOOl, learn to appreciate the music GO SEE THEM LIVE..... OPened with SOBER, and first half of the show was pretty much older stuff from Undertow and Anemia. After a 5 minute break the came back with John Paul (I think his name was) and Danny Carey doing a small drum solo before going into Disposistion and Reflection. Finally closing with Lateralus. BEST SHOW BY FAR>>>>>>

I had been enjoying their music for a long time before that, but throughout the years of enhancement it had brought me and further expanding my concsiousness, I had yet to really connect with them on a more intimate level. So, this was really special for me because for the first time I got to SEE what TOOL was all about. An amazing performance would be an understatement. Besides an overwhelming display of close- encounter lights and morphing images of faces, infants, eyes, geometric shapes, anatomy pics and body parts, just the atmosphere that the band brought to the stage was mezmorizing. I have never seen a more creative show in my life and I just hope that anyone who has had the opportunity to see tool appreciates why they do what they do, I sure as hell do. I would also like to add that during the show maynard took a second to thank everyone for reminding him of the significance of what he does and it meant so much to me. See tool if you can, I payed alot to see them, but trust me, it is most definitely worth it! It makes me proud to bare my third eye tattoo.

As the setlist has been posted many times over already and mostly as that needs to be said about the Tool performance in Baltimore has been said, I'll spare everyone the "best show i've ever..." or "a truly spritual..." or the "i wish they played..." and instead just make a few observations and/or corrections from the first show i've seen from this leg of the tour. I don't always read all of the reviews posted so someone else may have noticed what I'm about to say already but I've never seen it noted... 1) the lighting rig over the stage in in the shape of a seven- sided star, which I thought was an intereting little subtlety (as most people in the venue probably either couldn't or wouldn't notice it). Note: I'm not talking about the star lowered during the 2nd set either... 2) Maynard's platform appeared to move in a circular motion during lateralus as he was spinning in a circle without moving his legs or body at all. Could have been some magic or an illusion but, ahh, i dunno Also, forgive the partial rant but I'm so sick and tired of hearing people bitching and writing some revisionist history as it pertains to Tomahawk. This show was my first exposure to the band at all and while I won't be running out to buy their album, they were very entertaining and musically fit. The crowd (from where I stood at leat) was receptive to the band and it seemed that patton and company were appreciative for that. So to hear people write that the band didn't like being booed so they played feedback or that it's the worst band ever, etc. is just plain bullshit spewed from the narrow-minded and selective memoried. Tool seemed to be in great spirits. I was located dead center stage on the barrier all night and couldn't have asked or wished for a better vantage point or performance. I can't wait to get to Trenton on Monday and then it's on to Radio City. Oh, and on a final note, I'd like to correct someone who posted that the drummer from tomahawk joined the band on triad. It was actually Danny's drum tech (forgive me for forgetting his name). He did a really nice job and seemed to be overjoyed at the oppurtunity to play with them. Afterwards he shook each of their hands and everyone in the band seemed genuinely happy for him. I, for one, felt all warm and fuzzy inside because I'm sure it was probably the thrill of a lifetime to have shared that moment (or ten or so minutes worth of moments) musically with them.

OH MY GOD! After seeing them in Richmond Friday night, spending the show on the barricade on the floor front-row-and-center, but having constantly to fight for survival against drunken and mean concert-goers with little, and more often, no respect for the band; seeing more of peoples body parts than the band, we decided the experience wouldn't suffice. On to Baltimore- yes. As we sat down in our sets we found ourselves directly on the side of the stage, three seats up with no one in front of us, just high enough to see everything above the equipment, and twelve feet from the stairs the band uses to get on & off stage, with an uncomparable veiw of IT ALL! OH, WOW! We had a perfect veiw of GOD himself, Danny Carey (which is what I know him as, now.), and Maynard as well. Being behind the lights that shine on the audience, our veiw was not distorted by the lights that shine on the audience and had made everything seem so un-realistic the night before. And they took the stage, and we could see the little glances of delight that they share as they feed off each other, the little glances that say, "We could bring this audience to it's knees, if we want, but lets instead bring them to another level." The look that says- do you FEEL THIS? oh, and we did. And though we are just the audience, they absolutely saw our faces and our attempts to give them the biggest "here is our love" gestures and screams. And I've told you nothing of they're playing, you've noticed, because there are no words. I don't know if human ears are even capable of hearing every single beat, rythm, and note that each member produces constantly to combine in the beautifully orchestrated, highly elevated, untouchable and uncompromisable ever-strengthening muscle of music that flowed through me that night, but my ears and eyes were as open as they could possibly be trying to take it all in, and my inner being got whatever it was that the rest of me couldn't. AAAAAAAHhhhhhhhh. Sweet delight. Thank You, TOOL, for being open enough to yourselves to give the entity that is your music a life of it's own. WOW. You have opened me up again. Christina

I would just like to say that I didnt get to see TOOL before the Lateralus tour and all I heard about was how animated Maynard used to be and how he would come out all painted up. When i did finally get to attend some shows I wondered if I would ever get to see the Maynard of the past.... Well, last night i did. He came out painted all blue and was so into the music that it was unbelievable, the writhing and the little "Maynard shimmy"....It was so incredible and it only added to the crowd's energy and appreciation and the performance of TOOL as a whole. It was great to see ALL 4 memebers rocking and out and enjoying themselves last night. The crowd I think, was an excellent one. They seemed very respectful and I think that only added to the entire performance, especially Maynard's. He thanked the audience for "helping them remember why they do this". The new setup and backdros were absolutely amazing, as well as the new visuals....an Maynard's revovling stage was quite interesting. I'm not gonna post a setlist cuz there's a couple already. Again, thank you TOOL, thank you for doing what you do. Thank you for reminding us what music is and what it means to us. And thank you for the most amazing show I have ever seen. Looking forward to Trenton, Radio City, and Continental. Vickie

Again, an astounding show. Setlist pretty much as above. Tomahawk was much better than most reviewers reflect. Played solidly, although too much feedback for my liking. Tool appeared to enjoy this show a lot more than any of the other shows I've seen to date. Justin was actually caught in a vibe, and the others were remarkedly animated as well. I think Tool will like Baltimore in the future, and vice versa. And to Maynard, who thanked us for "reminding us of why we do what we do"- You're so very welcome.

My first Tool experience, and it was everything i dreamed. After a not so well received performance from Tomahawk (the lead singer exits the stage saying "thanks for putting up with us.") the stage crew starts setting up for Tool, and the anticipation builds with each breath. I wasn't on the floor as I had hoped, but was seated on the right side of the stage, close enough to smell maynard. An ambient sound fills the arena, and blue lights come on. Everyone stops breathing...the opening riff of "Sober" sounds off, and everyone starts screaming. It was incredible! Maynard has so much presence, even though he practically stood in the same spot for three hours. He has the voice of God with perfect pitch. He was wearing a black speedo, so obviously all eyes were on him . Danny's drumset was lit-up on a pedestal, and both Adam and Justin were frontstage, while Maynard hid in the shadows the entire performance, an apparition cloaked in shadow. Occasionally some light would hit him long enough to expose his wonderfully sculpted back. The lights, visuals, and the band itself were all a perfect vision of Gigeresque horror and beauty. Tool is a band that cannot be adulterated or raped by the likes of MTV brand, popular garbage. Their sound will continue to evolve and surprise their fans.

Tools performance was breathtaking... their are few bands anymore that fill their performances with so much energy and power. The sounds and asthetics were worthy or awe as usual.. I have a great amount of respect for Tool and everything they do.. a good band with a live sound as good as theirs is a rarity, something that everyone can appreciate.. as far as Tomahawk is concerned, i can't say i am a fan of their music, personally i find it rather irritating but i think it is rather disappointing, and far more irritating the amount of disrespect some people can have.. whether you agree or not they are a band of artists ... just becuase you do not appreciate their form of expression does not make it right to throw shit on to the stage ... have a little respect ... personally, i'd be willing to bet that the people who do such things would never have the balls to get on a stage in front of that many people and do what they do... even if you don't like a band, you can at least have enough respect to refrain from hucking shit at them ... i know small children that have more respect than that...

I was on an emotional wave, not knowing whether to stand up and just move, or be sucked into my seat. I don't know the names to each song or the individual musician's solos. I just know what I felt, and that was everything at once. My mind was going a hundred miles an hour with the world speeding along with me. And I liked it. The way that the audience was connected made me apart of something more. It was something that should be taught to every child and instilled in every mind. It is the ideal that we are human and have to be accepting in order to be a true living, breathing, thinking, advanced species.

After three shows in four days I feel confident in saying that anyone who saw the Baltimore show was extremely blessed to have been there. For comparison: Greenville, SC: blame the Bi-Lo Center for letting people sit anywhere without respecting those who waited in line and bought their tickets first. Of course everyone crammed themselves into the pit, and I don't know if someone pissed off the band or what but Maynard had his back turned half the time and it seemed like there was little communication between band and audience. Richmond, VA: Finally rewarded for being first in line to buy tickets, despite arriving an hour later than planned I managed to find a spot only 20 feet from the stage!!! With a great view of Adam's amazing guitar skills. And I had my fingertips on Danny's drum head but it got knocked away- damn! I guess that's why I'm not in the NFL. Baltimore, MD: H. stands for Holy Flurcking Schnit!!! This show was without a doubt the best one, definite connection with the audience, the band seemed really into it, and comfortable enough with the audience that they even played around with some of the music. It started with Sober-Grudge-Stinkfist, same as previous nights but definitely with more energy. And then they played H....... no, wait, they didn't just play H., THEY PLAYED THE FUCKING SHIT OUT OF H.!!!!!! I mean, Oh My Fucking God, that was the most awesome performance of this very awesome song. Justin did something differently at the beginning, we think maybe he was just playing an octave lower or something, but whatever he did it gave the song a very wicked feel. Then, when it comes time for the "I don't mind" part, the band stops playing and lets the audience sing that part, waits a couple more seconds and then Maynard comes in like: "I.... I..... I DON'T MIND!!!!!!" Again, Holy Fucking Shit! I could have left the show at this point and been completely satisfied, it was such an incredible performance. Yes, Maynard we were all very connected to you in Baltimore. I really hope that someone managed to record this performance, most importantly H., if anyway has a recording of this performance of H. IT IS YOUR SACRED DUTY TO MAKE IT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC, OR AT LEAST TO THE BAND! (my email is above :) In Baltimore, Tool showed why they are the greatest band in the world by giving a flawless performance. Maynard was even a little more talkative than usual, making some joke about the guy from Tomohawk (Jon Paul?) doing a PBS show with Dione Warwick and Latoya Jackson. :) This show made me want to quit work and follow them around for the rest of the tour, but alas, no money for that sort of thing. ONE NOTE FOR CONCERT-GOERS: Being up close was a thrill just to see the musicians perform, but in Baltimore we sat way up top on the third concourse and the show is equally entertaining from here. There are a lot more lights happening than you at first notice Also, from the third concourse we can see that Maynard is actually standing on a video screen which is projecting the same images that the audience sees on the two hanging video screens. And yes, it is rotating. Or is it revolving? I missed that day of school.

First let me make an apology I would like to make an apology to the members of TOOL and the fans who were at the show in Baltimore. I had the misfortune of having to physically strike another crowd member due to his ignorance and lack of respect for the fans around him. After attempting for two hours to take the passive-aggressive approach to his annoying gestures, my anger took over, and I was forced to violently strike him, which is completely out of my character. So I sincerely want to apologize to those who were in the vicinity of the incident, whose experience was disrupted by my actions, to the members of the band, especially Adam (the incident happened directly in front of Adam), for disrupting their show, and to anyone else who feels that my actions somehow ruined their moment. The worst part is that I was ejected from the show because of my actions, and the noid was not. I promise, I will be on my best behavior at the Trenton show. As for the show, it was completely awe-inspiring. I you were there, you know what I’m talking about, if you weren’t, too bad, better luck next time.

What do I say about this one?!?!? Another wonderful experiance with TOOL. Of cource they put on great show, I was once again in a TOOL trance. The arena was terribile, the sound sucked pretty bad, I have seen tool 2 other times and I know how they do in good arenas. I am really starting to hate these damn fratt boys that go to these shows.... I was sitting and enjoying the moment with TOOL and two ass holes were sitting behind me screaming like idiots, yelling for Tomahawk, yelling for drugs and stupid shit like that.. (tool is the drug. take it in and get a TOOL high!!) I was late so I didnt get to see Tomahawk, they are good though.. saw them in Little Rock and I will see them on the 12th in Trenton NJ. Maynard really seemed into it this show, more than I have ever seen him. He was in his breefs painted all in blue what seemed like a black line down his face. He seemed like he was feeling the music a lot more.. It always gets me when he says "Thank you for experiancing this moment with us" Its always better than hearing a band say, thanks for comming. Maynards knows what we feel during a show and that is awsome.. I waited for about 2 hours out side for the band to come out.. I need to thank them... but they came out from under the arena in the buss and left.. Kind of upset, but there is always today in trenton.. http://hometown.aol.com/toolband26/myhomepage/photo.ht ml <---- Picture of my tool tattoo.. youll have to type it in,, cant copy and paist... Thank you again tool, you are a majoy inspiration to me!! I look forward to tonight, but it will probably be the last in a while.. If your wanting to get drunk and act like an Idiot, please dont come to these shows.. It doesnt make you look any better at all, you ruin it for everyone else! This guys lucky it was TOOL, because if it was worth getting kicked out, I swear they were going over the railing, but TOOL is worth more than tossing someone! Mike

Opened with a short intro and "Sober." Damn hot in there, but the music soon made all forget their discomfort. The feeling was magical, as if the we were all in the center of the universe. I know that's where I was... When in the presence of greatness, acknowledge it. Tool is forever the greatest band of all time! Can't wait to see them again in NJ!

First off I would like to thank my Freinds because they spurred me on to be the first ones in line .....good job we made the barrier in the center and came all the from Philly! Next Tomahawk .....awesome show!!!!!!!!!!!! Paton is fuckin" amazing! Tool seemed to me like they were enjoying themselves, all were in good spirits Maynard found it visibly funny that the crowd hit the wrong note and was pretty weak when he let them sing the 'i don't mind ' part in H. , so funny that he continued to laugh when he finished siniging that part of the song. Excellent show! Can't wait till tonight in Trenton and then on to E. Rutherford! Parking lots suck in Baltimore this was certainly not a Jersey or Philly show! To all those who tried to get on the barrier all night ....NICE TRY PUT U CAN'T PUSH FIVE JERSEY BOYS AROUND. HA.

Well, I was at the Greeneville show a couple of days earlier, and the band was definitely more into the show here than they were in SC (even though that show was still incredible). I've read a lot of posts talking about the moshing, and the idiots in SC, and they're so right. There's just way too much going on visually at Tool shows to waste it jumping around in a mosh pit. I cannot understand why the hell someone would mosh to Reflection, but I guess if that's their thing, the so be it; the moshers did seem a bit more respectful in Baltimore than SC, I guess because it seemed like there were more fans at this show, instead of stupid people that were asking their buddies what the name of the band was they were going to see while they were walking down the sidewalk to the show. However, as usual, they put on an incredible show. Danny is so fucking amazing, I found myself watching him almost the entire time at both concerts. I really dig the additional parts of Stinkfist; I wish I could get a live album from this and last year's tours. Especially Triad; my God. I would pay another 40 bucks just to see that again, much less the entire show. I wonder if anyone else that has gone to multiple shows has noticed this: in Greeneville, during Lateralus, Danny played the drums differently. During the song, there's a steady beat that he keeps on the cymbals, and in Greeneville he played that part using his right hand and the cymbal on his right, but in Baltimore he used the foot-cymbal. (Sorry if my vocabulary is a little off, I'm not a drummer myself) . Absolutely amazing, that he can play the music differently and sound the same. I can't wait to see them again, all my friends at work think I'm nuts for driving so far to see them when they tour, but I just laugh at them, because they just don't get it. If you've never seen Tool, go see them. Even if it requires catching a flight somewhere; it's definitely worth it. There's no other show like it.

"I like this band so much I'm going to kick you in the teeth"- Jim Bruer. "Find a comfortable space..."-Maynard James Keenan Why do people go to this show? I go to listen to the music. I don't understand that whole part about loving the music so much that you want to kick the crap out of the person next to you. TOOL'S MUSIC IS NOT ABOUT MOSHING-- STOP DOING IT. I knew it was inevitable, though, some freaking reject has a hard time dealing with his anger and must act violent, I know. It's crapheads like that who eventually made the show even more enjoyable because when the played stuff off their new album, stuff that these freaks don't like because it doesn't "kick ass! Wooo, yeah" I could listen to it, and "lose my shit" in my own comfortable space. I hope you people find find a better outlet for your adrenaline and vigor, because the easy thing to do is lash out in violence, the hard thing is to let it quietly release while Tool blows your mind.

I am not a person who goes just to cause violence, and i have been hurt in mosh pits but its all part of the show, so suck it up and enjoy the show rather then whining, and remember there are seats if you just wanna have a spiritual journey, take those so people who are willing to have some fun can. Besides that great show. Also cut it out with the they r gods thing, they are people too, they just learn from other people rather then admiring them and just calling them gods. They just may be teaching you not to do what you do.

Hey Tool friends and family! Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the show. I was pleased with the setlist and the trouble a lot of people went through to make this show incredibly elaborate. Half the time, I didn't even know what to follow it was that hard to keep up with all that was going on, with the on-screen animations, the backdrops, the stage action, the lights, the crowd, and things flying around the stage. I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Baltimore Arena, much more so than I did at the MCI Center when Tool came down to DC, where I am, last year. I even made a nice friend. Good day, good show, great feeling. Thanks again and stop on back soon! -Pep

My first Tool show, and WOW, what a show. When the boys walked on staged and the started sober, I was forced forward almost twenty feet in what seemed like a split second. Maynard came on stage and started the vocals, but all I saw was his mouth moving, and the arena was filled with the crowd's voice. It was incredible. But after the first 4 songs, it got to be a little much for me in the pit, so I moved to the back of the crowd on the floor. The visuals were incredible, far beyond anyhting i've ever seen at a concert. I agree with most reviews, H. was by far the highlight of my evening right up there with a stellar performance of Lateralus. There's was an amazing ebergy between the band members and the crowd, just overall and great feeling. Thank you Tool, for reminding us why we love you so much!

there's so much more to tool then what you hear on the CD's. if you ever have the opportuniy to be apart of what i was, please take it. the intimacy in singing every lyric along with the band (and all the audience for that matter) is truly breath taking. it brings you to a new level of appreciation for what they do and how well they do it. and with that said, my review..... saturday night was my first tool show and even with it being monday night now as i write this, i still cannot take it all in. it was like for the entire evening i was on sensory overload. there was so much to see and feel and hear i couldn't make up my mind at what to devote my attention to. luckily, i just became enthralled in it all. it was the most beautiful thing i have ever seen in my life and i am so thankful that i was a part of it. there's nothing like being in an arena like that, with nothing but pure amazing talent just pouring itself out on the stage, and feeling connected with every single person there, because you are. the love for the music was the one common thread everyone shared and it was the most amazing feeling ever. there's something special about knowing that a group of artists came there for you and the people around you, and even more so when they take that time to tell you how much they appreciate it. maybe i'm being naive but i left that show dazed with a restoration of faith of how beautiful human beings can truly be and the beauty of what they are able create.

I'm doing a review for the Trenton, New Jersey show but didn't have the option to do so, so I chose Baltimore, MD. First off, I'd just like to say that Tomahawk FUCKING SUCKED. They got booed off the stage and the whole crowd wanted them to die or curl up somewhere and be injured somehow. The singer sounded like a turkey and ate dick, no doubt. Then, Tool came onstage and the whole crowd erupted. The set-list is as follows..... Sober The Grudge Stinkfist Forty-Six and 2 Schism Parabol/a eon blue apocalypse The Patient Ænima Disposition Reflection Triad (inspirational words of wisdom from Lord Maynard James Keenan) Lateralus All in all this was an awesome show, no thanks to Tomacock, and I personally can't wait for Meshuggah to open for Tool. The lighting and special effects were beyond words and there was no need for pyrotechnics at all. So yeah, Tool owns the universe and they put on one hell of a show. peace.

This is for the TRENTON show.... Cant post a review there yet.. I will when I get the chance... Just wanted to be brief on this. NJ was great.. The crowd really seemed into it last night. The only part was when just about everyone booed Tomahawk. That is the most imature shit I have ever seen in my life. When you get the balls to go up there and preform your own music than Ill give you the room to talk, it is so disrespectful and I am sure TOOL doesnt appriciate it either. I live my life for TOOL, and I didnt think Tomahawk put on as good as a show as they did in Little Rock AR, but I gave them the respect they deserved. Your trying to compair them to TOOL for christ sake, they will never be but they deserve the chance from the fans. Look how Mike Patton was up there, he had a lot of energy and was using differant equipment while singing with two microphones. I am not a musician, but it looks like tallent to me. All I have to say, is give them a chance and the respect they deserve, being booed by a bunch of TOOL fans I am sure makes them really feel like shit! http://hometown.aol.com/toolband26/myhomepage/photo.ht ml <---- Picture of my tool tattoo.. youll have to type it in,, cant copy and paist... If you saw Tool last fall, and plan on seeing them this tour, you will be seeing the same show. Hay, any Tool is good Tool, but I was left with a stale taste in my mouth. I am from the new school of live performances, each show should be different, each set unique. Why doesn’t the setlist EVER change, where are the breakout songs that haven’t been played in a while, why can't Maynard think of something different to say? Don't tell me because they played Prison Sex instead of Sober that the show was vastly different. Tool are great at constructing epic masterpieces of sound but terrible at constructing live performances. Just because they changed the backdrop doesn't make my experience different from the FU Center show in September. I don’t want to hear the radio hits I want to hear songs that I haven’ even thought of in a while, how much better would the show have been if instead of playing sober they broke out No Quarter, or Jerkoff? If Maynard is going to address people, how about you think of something different each night; it is kind of insulting to me that NOTHING changes from show to show. I did listen to the improvisation during 46&2 and I enjoyed it but it left me wanting more. Tool are 4 highly skilled musicians why can’t they exhibit this during their live performances? Chang things up a little, how about transitioning from one song to another without stopping? There are two distinct factions of performers emerging these days: the Brittney Spears kind that have their entire show planned from day 1 and show little to no variance during the performance and the kind like moe, the Disco Biscuits, Les Claypool, Phish (just to name a few) that take their performances to the next level. How can it not get boring playing the same songs night after night? Tool are incredible but the live act need to evolve past the Creed level.

Wow!, Only my second tool show but the first of my string of 9 consecutive. I am actually writing this after having already seen the Baltimore show and the Trenton show. Both were amazing but pretty similar. Differences were that in Baltimore they played H were in Trenton they played 46&2. Both shows got a complete version of Parobol, who'd a thunk it. In Baltimore I really couldn't see the screens but my great sideview right behind Danny made up for that. Watching him pound out those beats kept me mezzmorized all show long. Especially the end of the Grudge, and Lateralus. I am looking forward to seeing Radio City tonight, then Continental, Fleetcenter, Providence, New Hamshire, New Haven, and even Syracuse. If anyone is going to be getting any sort of video from these shows please e-mail me.

once again, i'm left stunned. truly a great show. sound was really quite good, justin's bass was way up in the mix and sounded great from the opening notes of sober. maynard's vocals were a little low at times, but crowd was singing most of the lyrics anyway. H was a very nice surprise, and was performed perfectly, as was most of the set. middle section of stinkfist threw most of the crowd, but it was great to see the band improvising as they did on quite a few songs. parabol/parabola was excellent. aenima was once again a highlight, as it always is. Tool never ceases to amaze and i will continue to believe that they are the best hard rock/metal band on the planet. hell, they may be the best band around right now. being a drummer i should mention danny's amazing performance which was absolutey stunning, but what else can be said? truly one of the all-time greats. adam's guitar work was great and sounded pretty much perfect. set lists seem correct for the most part. want to thank the band again for getting me to a place seldom visited and the power of their message in the music and lyrics.

Wow, what an amzing show!!! The second it started with Third Eye (including Timothy Leary sample). I was truly amazed to hear that they decided to resurect this song. During the last few "PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE"s Maynard looked like he stumbled off his platform. He recovered in no time. Adam Jones was amazing during The Grudge and Sober. Maynard's underwear also fell down during H. His back was facing the crowd, so "Maynard's Dick" wasn't performing with them on that song. He fixed his underwear during the break. Justin Chancellor was head banging during Sober. Maynard also said after the Patient, that he was glad Nibiru was coming to save us all. The concert ended with Lateralus, duh, and at the end they all hugged. Supposedly, Maynard jumped into the pit once or twice, but I didn't see it. Also whoever took a shit on the ground is going to die, becuase I stepped in it.

for anyone wondering what that 9 pointed star-like diagram was behind the band during the second set of the show, its called the enneagram The enneagram is an ancient nine sided diagram which was first introduced into the West by George I. Gurdjeiff, a mystic who was born in the area between Greece and the Caspian Sea in the late 1860s or early 1870s and flourished in Europe in the early 20th century. In recent times, it has become to be known as a diagram representing nine personality types. Hence the word, enneagram, derived from ennea, meaning "nine" and grammos, meaning diagram. In addition to describing the nine personality types, the enneagram is used as a tool to stimulate self-awareness, self-observation, self-remembering, and cultivation of spiritual knowledge. It is a transformational technology that can help us transform our vices into virtues. It is a system of spiritual practices which help us to overcome our shadow side. there is reason why choose their visuals, their lyrics, and the way they construct the songs. they do it because there i a deeper meaning behind what they do.
