Classical Interpretations of Tool to be Released in September

Vitamin Records is proud to present Third Eye Open: The String Tribute to Tool (VIT-8635) due September 11, 2001.

Third Eye Open: The String Tribute to Tool, brings together some of the finest violin, viola, and cello players, giving us their beautifully executed rendition of "Schism," the all-out assault of "The Grudge," and the dark yet humorous hopes in "Aenema," all encompassing the wide array of music that is Tool. This album delivers the band's solemn and sinister message through string instruments that can be warm and welcoming in one moment, and cold and distant in another.

Featuring intricate arrangements by renowned arrangers Jim McMillen and Eric Gorfain, this tribute includes haunting performances by some of the world's most in-demand classical players.

This concept, inspired by the complex compositions and unique sound of Tool, delivers dramatic interpretations of the best of the band. This album takes the band's rhythmic guitars, assault-rifle drums, wide-ranging, multiple-octave vocals and turns them into aggressive string playing, deep and percussive cello, and vigorous yet delicate vocalizations on violin.

Charged with the emotional equivalent of human experience, hand-delivered through each note and chord, Third Eye Open: The String Tribute to Tool is a totally new interpretation of the masterpiece that is the music of Tool.

Available in record stores, online at www.thetributeto.com/tool, or by mail order at Vitamin Records, P. O. Box 39439, Los Angeles, CA, 90039-0439. §
