I got to hear all of Fantomas this time much to my delight. Patton had to love the audience. Shame on all the people throwing shit. Their set was very entertaining. Spider baby, Cape Fear, Investigation..., Henry....,some pages. Very entertaining. Setlist: 1. The Grudge 2. Stinkfist(extended) 3. 26&2 4. Sober 5. Pushit(aenima version) 6. Schism 7. Disposition/Reflection 8. Parabol/a 9. Eon Blue/The Patient 10. Opiate 11. Lateralus Its worth it to stay until the very end some people have found that out. See you in Philly!!!!

the setlist: the grudge ions stinkfist 46+2 sober pushit* schism* disposition/reflection intermission parabol/parabola eon blue apocalypse the patient opiate lateralus *not sure of order Ok, for one thing, it's really the showoffs in the audience who can disastrously affect a show- people jumping into the pit, moshing, all that assorted shit, that has to go. If you truly want to watch the show, do us a favor and quit trying to be the performers; people can only steal the show by cracking your skulls open. Other than that, I enjoyed my first Tool concert, I was surprised by their performance of Opiate and especially Schism. I haven't seen a show quite like this before. Tool are the most talented band around and they have quite the show to prove their genius.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Two shows in two days. I'm blown away. Going out to Hershey was a spontaneous decision, and I'm so happy that I did it. I made it on time (no RAIN!), so I got to hear all of Fantomas tonight. While I'm not going to rush out and buy their CD, it certainly was different. The crowd in Wilkes Barre was a lot more open-minded than the folks in Hershey. Idiots that throw stuff at the performers should get bounced out of the arena on their heads. Mike Patton seemed to enjoy the crowd reaction... either that or he puts up a good front. Tool was amazing. I can't really summarize what I'm feeling in words. I'll just post some of the differences compared to last night. The acoustics in Wilkes Barre were better. Hershey is an old arena by comparison, and there seemed to be a lot of standing waves. Maynard didn't strip down to his speedo. I couldn't really see what he was wearing, but it looked rather run-of-the- mill. His face was half painted again. He didn't sound quite as sharp as last night, but I'm sure back-to-back nights will do that to a singer. Even so, I'll take his worst performance over most any other lead singer these days. I was thrilled that the set list changed by 3 songs (Sober/Pushit/Opiate instead of Prison Sex/Eulogy/Aenema). Pushit was especially powerful. Danny has to be one of the most talented drummers on the planet right now. At times he was just a blur. I could ramble on... instead, I'll just say that if you're even just a casual Tool fan, you must see this tour. Beg or borrow to get a ticket... you won't regret it.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

What a 37th birthday it was for me. I got to see Tool live and enjoyed every minute. I drove 75 miles to Hershey Arena for my first visit there. I was surprised by the security, everyone was searched and passed over with hand held metal detectors. No one I saw was partying outside or inside, though I did smell a familiar aroma once. There was a no purse rule and a ban on chains or spikes worn as well. Since it was general admission and I got there early, I was able to get a good seat and saw the stage show in full glory. Fantomas opened and I have a open mind , but they got to be a bit annoying after awhile. They opened with promise because they were original but the crowd soon turned on them, booing loudly. Mike Patton even egged them on by asking if the cat had there tongues. They did have a great drummer though. They eventually finished and then Tool took the stage after entrance music which I am sure has been documented in other reviews. I hope this is an accurate set list: The Grudge-Stinkfist(withverse from Suspicious minds)-46+2-Sober-Pushit(original)-Schism- Disposition/Reflection-break-Parabola/Parabol-The Patient- Opiate-Latiralus Quite a set. Maynard stayed on his stage dressed in black, swaying to the music and hitting all the long yells, Adam was awesome all night , Justin was on top of his game, and Danny played only as he can. The only complaint was Danny's double bass drums were to loud and muffled a bit with the heavy bass of Justin. Adam did a bit of small jams between songs that I didn't recognize from their studio, live, or bootleg recordings. Maybe someone else will know more about them. Maynard gave his speech at the end and the group hug got a BIG ovation. Unfortunately the shirts were $35 and a keychain was $15 and we didn't get to keep our ticket stubs, so the only momento i will have is the memory of a great birthday. If anyone has any pictures they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated. I have been to many, many concerts (Gwar was the best) and this one ranks right up at the top.

This was this reviewer's 4th Tool show

What can I say that hasn't been said already? Tool performed spectacularly this evening. The visuals were fourfold of what I anticipated. Loudest concert I've ever been to. What poor fate has struck the former lead singer of Faith No More. That album that "Epic" was on, well, that was just a really good album, no doubt about it. This new band, Fantomas(sp?), they were unbearable. I try to be open- minded these days, but is Patton attempting some sort of radical new style or what? Whatever he's thinking, he should change his mind and revisit the early 90's. Play a little "War Pigs" or some "Epic". Why waste a fantastic singing voice on hissing and screaming for a band that features Sideshow Bob from the Simpsons?

Ahh. You gotta love the sheer ignorance of most of the crowd in Hershey. Fantomas. An acquired taste. Alot of the crowd was turned off by them, but Patton loved it. As for 'Sideshow Bob,' does no one remember Buzz from the Melvins? King Buzzo, who played guitar on 'You Lied,' and who's the only reason Tool even agreed to do Ozzfest in '98? Granted, you don't have to like their music. But respect the fact that they are friends of, and are respected by, the band you really came to see. Besides all that, Tool was amazing. Maynard got the full howls in during 'The Grudge' and 'Pushit,' and suprisingly said nothing until after the intermission. Adam, Justin, and Danny were also great, though there were a few times when Justin would crouch (or sit) down and I couldn't see what he was doing. Regardless, it sounded incredible. Didn't expect 'Sober' or 'Opiate,' but across the board, the entire show was amazingly tight. Like everyone else has said, if you don't have tickets yet, and there's a show anywhere in driving distance, go. You won't be disappointed.

Hi, Here's the skinny: Fantomas: Keep an open mind. The acoustics at Hershey were not kind to Fantomas. The band was unconventional, and this crowd was short on endurance. Mike Patton worked the abuse with Tony Clifton-like gusto; I believe the term of endearment he used when addressing us was: "Hershey Squirts." If you dished any shit to them tonight, go back and listen to "Aggressive Perfector" and remember/discover why you do not boo Dave Lombardo. Tool: My first time, and they did not disappoint. You've heard all this before: no spotlight for Maynard. He was in his leather-looking number, with big-ass boots that would've given Gene Simmons a hard-on. Face painted with black down the middle, and glow-in-the dark lines that bordered the black intermittently, depending on what light hit him. The other boys were well-lit, and it was lovely to watch them work. Justin and Adam came together and conferred, without saying much of anything; with a nod, or less - it was all understood. You've already seen the set list. They threw in a few appreciated curves. The video projectors ran a mixed bag. I'm girly squeamish when it comes to some of Adam's video creations, but this was all working. You had images that looked like: naked synchronized swimming routines gone bad, public toilets that make the facilities at the 9:30 Club look good, women recoiling in a attempt to evade the mechanical sperm pest, do-si-doing mannequins, eyes, spirals, video snow, etc. Oh, and you will like osseus labyrint. Even we heathen "Squirts" couldn't resist applauding for them. Old headbangers can't watch those two performers jerk their heads around like tetherballs, without thinking "Ooooh, Lanacane!" All in all, not an experience to be missed. Fuck the $50 shirts. Just find a good seat and soak it in. These guys seem to be good people (that group hug will send you to the Kleenex box, faster than a screening of "Brian's Song"), and they are very good at what they do. You have to enjoy that kind of sugar whenever you can get it.

Hey everyone! Lemme just tell you that TooL was absolutely fuckin'awesome!!!!!!!! I've waited years to see them since the last time and I just couldn't believe me eyes. I was completely mezmorized by Maynard (even though you could barely see him). That stupid ass band that opened for TooL sucked really bad, all the idiot did was scream like a woman and yipe like a damn dog. I was bad!!! Anyway, fuck them...... let's get down to business. I've been a fan of TooL since 93'. Saw them in 96' for the first time and saw them last nite for the 2nd time. This show was by far better than any show I've ever seen in my life. TooL had it all going on! I could barely see any of the band members cuz it was dark and....well.....you know how TooL likes to be mysterious. Maynard had some kind of (what looked to be hair) covering his face. Good god, I didn't want it to end. I'm still in complete awe over what I just saw last nite. Didn't think I could like (love) TooL anymore than what I already did......but I do! Really cool addition they had were these people who came out on the stage walking on thier hands and feet bobbing thier heads up and down......later in the show for the song Parabola, the same 2 people hoisted themselves in the air and hung by there feet and did all kinds of wierd shit. They were extremely flexible to do what they did. It was really fuckin' cool! There were also 2 big screens and a smaller screen behind Maynard on which they played thier video clips and some other really off the wall shit. I didn't see that much cuz my eyes were constantly on TooL. I barely looked away from them. In between songs, Maynard "hid" behind the speakers, crouched down....you could only see the very top of his head. WOW!!! I just really fuckin' loved it!!!!!!! I can't put into words what I felt last nite at the show. All I can say is that I am grateful that I got another chance to see TooL and I will remember and cherish this moment forever! Later peeps!

Ahh....what an incredible first concert, yes this was my first concert ever. I am seventeen and couldn't have asked for a better one. The whole show was awesome, and i don't know why people were dissing the first band, they weren't that bad, it was kinda eerie and spooky sounding, that's why I liked it. I wasn't expecting Tool to play sober, or opiate (sp?) for that matter, but sober is the one that surprised me. One complaint though, the damn people in the front kept getting pissed if we got pushed into them and were being dicks about protecting their girl friends, sure I was ok with them doing that but they didnt have to be dicks about it. Well the catorshanists(sp??) were really cool. especially when they went up on those ropes and started like popping out their joints, that was cool. Tool themselves were just incredible, and I loved how they hugged at the end, it shows they are really close as a band, and I hope maynards one saying comes true, "Hope to see you again soon" because that was one fucking awesome show...so much more to say but i will stop.

Correction: Not Lanacane, Bengay! Duh. Sorry, it was 4 a.m., and I got my drugs mixed up. Watching osseus labyrint swing their heads around will make the old headbangers want to reach for the Bengay. Forgot to mention: Maynard does wear a guitar-like device (sorry not a musician) for a while, but he didn't seem to touch it a whole lot. He even had something that looked like a cordless drill, and I think he did something to the keyboard with it. Of course, without any light, he could've been over there installing shelves for all we could tell. Enjoy the rest of the shows. :)

this is my second show in 2 nights and i was tires as hell in line. we got there at like 130. no scene again nothing really going on but i went on the chocolate ride. got in at 630 and fantomas opened at 730 - horrible again. tihs time even closer than last night, behind like 2 people so i was able to smoke without doin it right in front of ther gaurds faces. it felt just as great as the first time. the stage was right in front of me and i could see perfectly . it got pretty rough after the grudge with a lot of swayying. i stayed in the front until parabol when my friend passed out and i went with him too the back and i got a very good view of danny which i didnt when i crowed surfed last night. i could see well now for the patient without being slaughterd cause im so small and weak. i smoked into opiate and i lost it because i wanted to see it so muck and i knew they were only playing either aenema or opiate and not both and i saw aenema last night and i probably see it again in phili. i just smoked and sang my lungs out. then came the closer lateralus and i sontinued to smoke until about half way through and i crowd surfed to the front again. i swear i came 6 inches from the ground but they still caught me and threw me up even higher and than i got up to the front and got a good view of adam and walked by danny again and got another great view of him. definatly the greatest band to see and i cant wait till thursday.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

I am absoltely enthralled with the show. Loud as hell, but kept its beauty and clarity. It was neat to see the crowd get more and more appreciative as TooL's time grew short, the applause lasting longer and longer with each song, rather than people getting tired of clapping. Maynard swaying and rolling to the tunes, and the way he punctuated notes with his body made him anb awesome spectacle without him having to jump and scream. He was captivating, and his simple outfit was cool. He sang amazingly, I couldn't imagine him being sharper, despite what the guy before said. He hit everything, but his voice did seem to give out a bit diring Reflection, my most favorite song right now. The setlist was great, they didnt just play the singles, but they did seem to know which songs are the best to do, because all the songs they played are their best, definitely. ALthough, I would have liked the alternative setlist a little better. (Eulogy Aenema PRison Sex). Just personal Preference, I love those songs. I took my 13 year old borhter and a friend, and we went at 2:30 for good position. We were within arms reach of the railguard on the floor. Amazing. They visuals rocked, and made it a really special concert. Maynard saved his few words for the end which made them hit home harder. Mike Patton is one of my favorite artists...when with Faith No More. All his albums with them have been very creative and enjoyable, but Mr. Bungle and Fantomas just arent user friendly enough to be a well accpeted band. He has an amazing voice that goes to waste in their collection of noises. The crows definitely agreed with me. Although they were rude, y ou cant blame their unrest. Anyways the show was beyond anything I could have expected, I loved the puching up front. Thanks Tool.

The show was fantastic. Tool did an excellent setlist that definitely pleased me. Here it is: The Grudge Ions (-) intro. to Stinkfist (Added a whole middle excellent guitar part. It was great.) Merkaba? intro. to Forty Six and Two Sober Pushit (original from Ænima, not the Salival version) Schism Disposition/Reflection (Adam drug the end of Reflection out for like 6 or 7 minutes. It was awesome.) Parabol Parabola Eon Blue Apocalypse/The Patient Opiate Lateralus The complaint I had about the show was the sound. The bass was too fucking loud! At times, it was hard to hear Adam and Maynard because the bass was over-dominate. Oh well. As for Fantomas, it became apparent that they weren't appreciated from the beginning as people BOOED them. Some of the comments were funny being hurled at them such as "Your singer sucks!" "Get the fuck off stage!" "Fuck you!" But honestly, that's just rude, because I didn't believe that they were that bad. Some of the stuff they did was creative, while others weren't so good. I do agree with whoever yelled "Your singer sucks!" because he was a bit odd, and was making these weird clucking? noises and shit. I don't think people at a Tool concert want to hear that. Anyway, I thought it was a great show. The visual aspect of the show really enhanced it a lot. I especially liked the video playing when Tool was playing "Forty Six and Two". This naked woman was swimming through this green water, and it seemed like she was going through a metamorphosis or something. It's hard to describe, sorry but believe me it was really amazing.

Just a few more observations about the show. The crowd was very well behaved. I saw no moshing on the floor, there were nothing but cheers during Adam's outro on Reflection, and no crys of "get the fags off and play music" during the contortionists parts. Though Fantomas got booed, the crowd was very upbeat and appreciative. Many past reviewers tell stories of how other fans ruined a good time for them but I saw none of that..It was sometimes difficult to pay attention to the band with all of the other visuals. There were a few moments I closed my eyes for a second to concentrate on the music itself.Fantomas was an aquired taste that was force fed but tool was a delicacy we all devoured happily. Go to a show and you will know what I mean.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

I arrived at about 7:30, just in time to see Fantomas come on. They were getting booed the whole time, but I think they liked that. Mike Patton kept making cracks to the crowd, saying he met Tool at a gay bar earlier and they asked Fantomas to open for them. I actually thought that they were the most original band I've ever seen, and Patton's mic setup was really cool. His voice was also awesome. Then they kept saying they were getting off(to the cheers of the crowd) but then they'd play for 20 more minutes. He called the crowd "Hershey squirts" and asked if a cat "had our tongue", pretty funny shit really at the time. Then Tool came on after a brief intermission(in which something that sounded similar to Die Eier Von Satan was played). The setlist was like this: The Grudge Stinkfist 46&2 Sober Intro and Sober Pushit Schism with dancers from video Disposition and Reflection Parabol + Parabola The Patient Opiate Lateralus The band came out very unexpectedly, with the Lateralus ring of eyes and fire on the screen. I was right up front, and I kept seeing Adam look pissed off and yell something to his sound guy. Justin didn't even seem to be alive either. Maynard was doing the squat and shit dance the whole time, and stomping when big parts of songs hit their climax. He was pretty damn cool, I must say. Danny was amazing, breaking cymbals and not missing a beat. Maynard said nothing until well after Reflection ended, and that was only "Thank you very much". Then he said that again after The Patient, and added something about taking away a positive message and doing something with this feeling. Basically, Maynard's message was exactly the opposite of Fantomas', and paralelled what Parabola is all about. Next came Opiate, and Maynard nearly muted himself when he yelled "Rape You!" which pissed me off. He seemed scared to cuss. Finally, after Opiate, he walked over to Danny's little stage, and talked about positivity again. They ended with Lateralus and had a group hug afterward, which seemed a little tacky. However, upon further reflection and patient remembrance, I would say that Tool was everything i thought they would be.

As for the whole show? Amazing. What living is about. Fantomas was great! The vocals on the singer are incredible. I don't know how he has such a wide range. I think that from people who would like a band like Tool, who I see as more intense and descriptive than bands of today, I would think people who appreciate Tool for their music would appreciate Fantomas for theirs. They have a style of their own that I haven't seen before. Great stuff...but most of the crowd for a lot of the time didn't show much respect to them at this show. They did get cheers and claps, though from time to time. I never heard them before...but I'm defenetly looking into them and I think you should, too. At least try it. I noticed at a time that when Fantomas would play something complicated or fast...they got cheers. I guess that's what some people only look for. Try to look more beyond that. Tool was fuckin unbelievable. They were excellent to the "T"...then went beyond that. Mysterious, Stadium Shakeing, Exact. The videos shown on the screens were amazing. Fuckin amazing. Great light patterns to set moods. Damn great. It's like typed up above a bit...it's what living is about...great moments that are so consuming. Stuck with me forever. By the way...I would like to say a special thank you to Devin from the parking lot at hershey park arena who let me stay in her car to stay warm. It such such a great thing to have done. If you read this Devin, please e-mail me. Thanks.

TOOL/Fantomas 09-25-01 Hershey Park Arena. Man oh man was I looking forward to this. And apparently so were a lot of other retards, when we got there there was a huge ass line and a couple smaller ones, I then learned the big one was for limited floor seating (kinda defeats the purpose of general admission eh?),anyways we took our chances in that line. The place was crawling with all the retards I expected (I'm sticking by my 95% of TOOL fans in this area are complete morons). Listening to kids talk in line was pure comedy. One kid saying how this line sucks, but if it was Slipknot he'd wait (and bleed, hah) all day long. Those kids behind us in line made waiting in line all worth it, plus pissing people off saying I'm pro Osama, gonna start our own Bin Laden Brand Box Cutters, for general airline purposes. Anywho, we did get on the floor, and waited impatiently for Fantomas to come on as we sat around and listened to puppets talk about seeing Maynard this close and me telling them there's more to them, without the music he's just a voice. Fantomas came on and I think there might have been 100 people there that even knew what amazing act was about to take place. Let me just say this, the set was godly, Patton is pure genius, hell all of them are, Lombardo owns behind the set as well. They played a good mix from both albums with Patton screaming murder then singing sweet lullaby's. The crowd, filled with your average Central PA retard being spoonfed comercial radio, didn't take to them all that well. Yelling, booing, flipping em off, throwing shit at them, like beer (which you know damn well cost a fortune at an arena, amazing a band can piss you off that much to throw away $5 at them) and Fantomas just smiled the whole way through it, the whole time being called "fags" by meatheads. Patton's reply "We met tool earlier today at the gay bar in town and they asked us to open the show for them, thanks for coming out early!" The band, especially Patton, loves being booed, they don't care it's not like they're gonna shorten their set for a few simple minded morons. I loved every single second of it and the booing and jeers made it even better. These retards probably had no clue that it was the singer from Faith No More up there and if they did I'm sure they wouldn't have been booing all because of his name, or if Maynard said during TOOL's set that Fantomas is amazing all those kids would have quickly changed their minds. After a bit of a wait TOOL finally came out, and this is where all you people in seats are lucky. If you could see well from the seat you didn't miss shit from the floor other than meatheads trying to mosh to TOOL somehow, you CANNOT, and I repeat, CANNOT mosh to tool. You should take it all in, stand there and listen and watch the art on the screens. Once "the pit" calmed down, it wasn't all that bad standing on the floor, although sometimes I wish I could have been in a chair to take it all in from above so to speak, but it was all good. TOOL played besically every song off the new album minus Ticks and Leeches which Maynard refuses to play live because he lost his voice just trying to record it.(Kinda glad they didn't play it though, all the retards would have started moshing again.) They played 46 & 2 from Aenima, and the title track from Opiate as well, but as you see, of course the main focus is on the new album. The huge screens displaying all the art and video was amazing. Surely making their music all that more better, which I didn't think could be done. Osseus Labyrint, the people in the schism video, performed as well and they were insane. They came out during Shism for a bit and just walked on all fours, but later in the set they were lifted into the air by ropes. They hung right in front of the big screens and did their performance in the air. They were hanging upside down most of the time held only by the rope wrapped around their ankles. I can't even describe what they did other than I don't think ones body should bend like that. It was just amazing and something you need to see in person to appreciate fully. Maynard barely said a word between any songs, I think he may have said like 5 lines the whole night, the crowd of morons clung to his every word too. Deafening screams just for him saying "Thank you very much." These people are missing the point of tool, and it's also the reason they hated and didn't understand Fantomas. Their music is an art and meant to be taken as such, they are in no way rock stars and don't want to be treated like one either. I feel sad for the people that just stared at him the whole night instead of watching the screens behind him. Overall though, this show was amazing and it's right along Maiden as the best show I've ever seen. Today I had to listen to the X because I knew they'd have people calling in to talk about it and sure enough they did and sure enough someone had to complain about Fantomas. Some hick got on all like, that opening band sucked, they're lucky they didn't get beat up, I have no clue what they were trying to do and screw them for mocking the crowd. And the DJ asks, isn't that Mike Patton from Faith No More's new band? The guy was like, I don't know, they suck and they should get their asses beat. Hahaha, I love it.

Hey Tool freaks! The was incredible to say the least. No mortal can be worthy of putting that show into words.. Quite an experience. Anyway Fantomas kicked ass I thought, I always enjoy someone trying something new, I thought it was great when Patton said "What's the matter? Ya can't handle us??" Alot of people got pissed and it was funny. I waited in line since noon to get a front rail center spot, and I did. The guy behind me put it best... "I don't care what anyone else thinks of these guys, I enjoy it, this is their art and I dig that." I felt that same way... I'm definitely gonna check em out. Tool... Tool is one of the 3 bands I had left to see before I die, i hope they come back soon. I'm still speechless.. Damn it was loud, a day after my ears are still ringing. I would have gladly waited another day and payed 3 times as much to see Tool, i was so Impressed. I won't give the setlist cuz I've seen it in 3 other reviews so, I'll spare you. I respect how Maynard kept himself in the dark, there really are no good pictures of Tool if you think about it. I felt bad for this small girl that was behind me so i let her next to / in front of me during the show just to protect her, but she left 3/4 the way through, I did my good deed. Anyway, The Laybrynh guys (i forget their true names) were really amazing, i love how they did there upside down trapeze damce thing, that was amazing, and the screen videos kicked ass. I also thought it was aweseome how the band hugged at the end, they know whats goin on. Later tool freaks!!! Mach5224 Mach5224

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

look who cares how the crowd reacts - isnt the reason we are all here is for the music - not the bullshit fans who dont mean anything to us anyways. Tool really is the best band on gods green earth because they dont need MTV or any other dick in your toaster outlet to feed us their pure brilliance

All I can say is WOW! I have been waiting a long time for this show. I've never seen Fantomas before and they were everything I thought they could be. Mike Patton looked like a mad scientist behind his fortress of music-making gadgets. And his voice was absolutely amazing. Dave Lombardo, one of the best drummers in the world, hasn't lost a beat since leaving Slayer. King Buzzo's hair was amazing. It was so big, I could barely take my eyes off it. And Trevor Dunn is just an absolutely fantastic bassist as he's proven before with his previous work with Mr. Bungle and various side projects. Well, Fantomas played a good mix from both their albums. I would have really liked to hear Rosemary's Baby and Charade, but I was not too disappointed. Patton could have farted on a snare drum and I would have been happy. I was amazed how tight they played, every beat was right on, and that's no simple task especially with the songs from their first album. Mike Patton didn't say much to the crowd, but what he said was thought provoking and heartfelt - a true showman in every sense of the word. Simply put - the show was fantastic. After Fantomas there was some band called Tool. I don' t know what the big deal was about this band. Everyone had this obsession with the singer. I guess he was ok but not worth all the fuss. The music was pretty good, I guess, if you like that kind of thing. I honestly can't see why this band Tool didn' t open for Fantomas. After all, Fantomas is the greatest band in the world. I wish I was able to get tickets for the Philly show as well. I don't know when I'll ever get to see Fantomas again since Mike Patton has so many bands to juggle. Oh well. I'll always have this amazing show in my memory. At least the Fantomas part. I've already forgotten most of that, what were they called...Tool group's performance. "Fantomas." "What did you say?" "I said: Fantomas." "And what does that mean?" "Nothing...Everything!" "But what is it?" "Nobody...And yet, yes, it is somebody!" "And what does the somebody do?" "Spreads terror!" -taken from "Fantomas" by Marcel Allain and Pierre Souvestre

this wasnt so much a concert to me as it was a religious experience. i didnt know if i should pay attention to the band, the videos in the back, or the contortionists climbing around. the torrential rain seemed like a foreshadow to what was come. this really was insane, from the way maynard did his posing shit to the surprising calmness of the band. im glad i didnt see them headbang or anything, its cool to see them being so calm. all of this made that ciggarette in the rain, and the hour of htat death metal shit all worth it. playing stinkfist, prison sex, shizm, and aenama made me want to head bang, but i couldnt-i was completely enthralled in the music, and i couldnt move, i could only listen. those 2 hours seemed like 5 minutes. my brother showed no reaction til the opening riff of aenama when he was literally on the edge of his seat. great show.

I wrote this the night of the Tool concert when i got home @ 12:42 am> This review is lacking, not because I am a bad writer, but for the simple fact that what I witnessed tonight is simply beyond words. Not to get dramatic here, but it was the closest I have ever some to a religious experience. I would firstly like to say that nudity has never, to me at least, been less sexual and more symbolic in my life. There wasn't a single moment of physical attraction, only complete awe and a strong desire to have a more clear understanding of the bands use of nudity. The human form took on a very symbolic and beautiful nature for me during this. Getting on with it...Aside form the normal obnoxious rantings of people near to my seat, there was as close to perfect as music comes. It was truly incredible to see the crowd from wear I sat. They would become mesmerized and then explode. Having been to something like 400 shows/concerts, this by far was the most impressive. Even though I was as close to being in a "nosebleed" section as possible, I don' think it really affected or took away from the experience. Musically it was flawless. It evoked a range of emotions that are indescribable. It was impressive to say the least . I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. To those of you who were so far away you had to use binoculars, i feel your pain. Still amazing though, wasn't it?
