lucky me i saw the show tonight and i am happy to report it was fantastic. Setlist was to be expected with some suprises, im too tired to go into much detail but everything you've heard is true. Tool is phenomenal live, The Grudge, Triad and Lateralus were my personal highlights. ...later days...

It's the same setlist as usual, so just find someone else's redition and I'm sure they'll have it right. Having been to a few other shows over the summer, let me just say that TOOL has easily been the best show ever for me. The intermix of the visuals, (lighting, animation screens, backdrops and props) with the music is astounding. As opposed to a lot of the other crap out there, it seems TOOL is actually concerned with their music and want the visual aspect to reflect the moods and ideas they are trying to convey. I don't want to give too much away for those that want to keep it a bit of a mystery, so I'll just say that effects during parabol were awesome, and the initial two songs (particularly the satin-looking cloth during sober) set the mood for the rest of the show. My only complaint...leave the thrash metal mosh pit for ozzfest, or some other "we're metal-gods-blending-loud- offensive-guitars-with-lack-of-talent band". Tool is too sophisticated for that, so learn to appreciate the music without depreciating others enjoyment of it. That is all from me. Tool is by far the greatest band today, and their live show just depicts it further. If you have a problem with that, then fuck you. why don't you go kill yourself? Just kidding... TOOL FUCKING TOOL.

WOW what a night tool was amazing this is my second time seeing them and key arena was blessed tonight. Maynard dedicated the last song Lateralus to Layne Staley which was awsome of him, Adam Jones and Danny Carey were magical when they exchanged glances and Justin Chancellor was flying on his bass, Thank you tool for comming through this tour hope to hear some new songs soon.

the real Setlist (sorry for any mistakes/TOOL's set was the same as Anchorage) Sane the Sickening Glints Collide Rational Gaze Suffer in Truth New Millenium Cyanide Christ Closed Eye Visuals maybe i'm wrong, it was really intense and i was the asshole dancing in section 128 row 17 seat 3, yeah i move to the music it makes me feel good/better.... there are a lot of bands that use such insane rhythms, but Meshuggah are by far the most beatifully intense/heavy *as in 'as fuck' here's a great article by STEVE VAI about polymetrics and polyrhythms http://www.vai.com/LittleBlackDots/tempomental.html TOOL was awesome as ever, i missed Lollapalooza 97, didn't see them until Seattle 8/98, so seeing H. was definitely the highlight... who do you think should open the next TOOL tour??? i say ISIS! Just got back from the greatest experience ever. If you can find 40 dollars lying around the house...yea right...go see TOOL. Trust me, it's worth it! Being my first TOOL show and all, I guess I'm probably a little too excited about the whole thing, but I think that the lighting, backdrops, projector screens, everything was awesome. There were a couple songs in there that I didn't think I would hear. I think Meshugga was alright, they need haircuts man. Here's the set list. Intro (Adam and Justin with Effects and Feedback) Sober The Grudge Stinkfist (Extended) H. Schism (Extended) Parabol Parabola Intermission (Bass Feedback for about 5 minutes) Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus Overall awesome show. I wanted to see Ticks and Leeches, and The Patient...oh well, that set blew me away.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

For those of you who haven't seen Tool yet, I give to you this advice: You only live once... and you haven't lived until you've seen Tool. Their stage in the Key Arena was virtually symmetrical. The sound was beautiful. *48* speakers faced the 'pit', 24 on each side. At least 17 speakers were on stage facing the band at various angles. And two *panels* of speakers (each about 12 wide and 4 deep) hung from the ceiling. Each of these speakers looked about 4 feet by 2 feet. Two screens also hung from the ceiling, at least 15 x 15 feet. (Life is in the details - so what if I'm overly observant?) I started out the night by recording a 'Station ID' for Funky Monkey 104.9, the hardest rocking radio station in the Seattle area, and was on the air - whoohoo 5 seconds of fame - it was the sign of good things to come. And good things did come! -Erm, that is, they did once Meshuggah left the stage. I was planning on posting the setlist for the opening act, just because it seems most people don't do that. This was my first time hearing Meshuggah, so I was going to write down a little bit of lyrics to each song, then do a search on the internet with the lyrics to find each song title. But HA! What an effort in futility. I COULD NOT MAKE OUT A SINGLE LYRIC. The vocals were SO muddy I was seriously panicked about how Tool would sound. The only thing I bothered to write down for Meshuggah was 'Say'... that's the only word I know for sure he said (that was in their first song, by the way). Between songs, the lead singer said "I can't fucking hear you" and kept talking about how everyone was hear for only one reason - to hear Tool. Duh. I guess he was aware of how much they suck. In case anyone cares, here is how Meshuggah looks on stage: Hair- extremely long. Early Metallica long. Headbanging - I thought they were trying to autofellate themselves, they were hunched so far over. Stage antics - their guitarist spun in counterclockwise circles at high velocity. He looked drunk. I realized at this point that it looked like they had no cables for their instruments. Were they playing cordless electrics? Do such things exist? Meshuggah exemplify all that is metal. Their fret hands barely move (if at all), their pick hands spasm wildly, and their hair is SO FUCKING LONG. We're no longer in the '80's. C'mon, people, snap out of it. When the singer said "This is our last song" the cheering was out of control. Tool happened, by this time I had snuck down from the noisebleed seats to the 100 level seats. It was a very good decision. Here is my synopsis of the show: SETLIST: ________ Sober Undertow The Grudge Lateralus Stinkfist Ænima H Ænima Schism Lateralus Parabol Lateralus Parabola Lateralus Ænema Ænima Noise/Static (Intermission) Disposition Lateralus Reflection Lateralus Triad Lateralus Lateralus Lateralus ___________ TOOL - the Inside the Outside Tour The sound was amazing and clear. At all times I could make out each individual band member's contribution to the music. During Parabol the balls from the video rose up and spun - I finally figured out (maybe) how it's done: a whole lotta black balloons tied together and 'pushed' upward by air jets. The artwork and visuals were spectacular. I cannot say enough about the stunning images and colors and lights and vibrant psychadelia blasting forth from the stage. So I won't say much other than that I kept thinking 'This is what acid must be like'. Tool are the art-rock GODS. Even more than the television-like panels with the pseudo- music videos playing (which were unsettling and beautiful), I enjoyed the backdrop behind the band. It was an enormous curtain; prior to intermission it was a lady's face staring straight out, her ears were faces looking to the left and right, and looking right into her from each side were two skulls. After intermission it became the 1000+ Lateralus eyes. Awe-inspiring. What a trip. Maynard got down to his speedo after 'H'. He was intense. For a good many of the songs he had his guitar-like instrument, anyone know what that is? He nailed all the songs, including the 30 second scream in the Grudge. Maynard was totally into the music, wildly dancing and jumping around on his platform in the back. He looks a lot like the creepy creatures in their stop-motion videos. He did not say much - after the Grudge, he said slowly: "Seattle." (applause and cheering) "Seattle." (applause and cheering) Then: "Are you sure?" Right before Ænema, he said: "Thank you very much for your support." (applause and cheering) "Now a few words about Los Angeles." Other interesting bits: Danny used his gong!! Danny made the music tribal, frantic, thunderous, DAMN. Right before Triad this other drummer came out and helped and they ROCKED. I am in love with Tool's drums now like I've never been before. Pure muscle, pure force, powerful. I thought the drummer guy looked like Danny's tabla instructor, but I don't remember his name. I do remember Maynard saying "Thank you Thomas." He then went into his 'Thomas has a used car dealership in California, and if you say 'Tool sent me' you'll get a discount' speech from there, and the 'do something positive with this energy speech', which came too fast for me to transcribe. He said "I hope we leave you feeling inspired, healed on some level, or just extremely horny." He wanted us to all go home by the fireplace and play _____ (some CD here which started with the letter M, but I couldn't make out what CD he was talking about) and have sex. He advised us to bring someone home to have sex with as well. Then it was on to Lateralus. I almost wept. At this point huge screens dropped from the ceiling, maybe six total, in a series starting with a skeleton, moving to a muscular form, then 'deeper' into the body (like the Lateralus face, only these screens were of the entire body) until the last two screens were of the Parabola body becoming energy. A seven-sided star descended - oh, I'd sell my soul for this band. Or have I already? Tool, thanks for making this such a great show. Though you did not bring me to orgasm, you did bring me close.

This was my 6th show of this tour (eugene, seattle, seattle, portland, tacoma, seattle) and I must agree with many of the other reviewer's that have been voicing their concerns about the amount of stage time being spent on songs from Lateralus. I've been making lots of excuses to myself about this fact but after seeing them again tonight.......well....damn.....I'm really worried now. I can understand how they would enjoy the hell out of having new songs to perform after touring on Ænima for 4+ years but enough is enough. Don't they realize that its the same fans that are going to their shows each time they come through town and that we've just recently been through the Lateralus journey? Yes its an amazing experience that no other band comes close to replicating but come on guys.......take us back down some paths that aren't so fresh in our minds. I'll still be first in line to get my GA ticket next time they come through town but now I'll be going expecting more of the same and maybe there will be some suprises.

Not gonna bother listing the setlist, but the reviews I've read so far here and over at TOOLARMY have been missing Eon Blue Apocalypse. I honestly forget when in the set they played it, but they did. I hate to bitch, especially this soon after the concert, but maybe Tool should consider (that is, once the enrollment here is much greater) to only have GA for TOOLARMY members just as Pearl Jam has done so in the past with their club. Main reason: RESPECT! There were too many guys (didn't notice any of the females) disrespecting Tool and all of us die-hard fans. Main thing that comes to mind, is the jerk who repeatedly yelled at the stage numerous times throughout the set to "pick up the pace", and "play Opiate". WTF! I feel for those around me who were recording it, because they're gonna have that show up all throughout Disposition & Reflection. Of course that didn't ruin the night at all for me, and quite frankly, nothing could. Way, way better than the Tacoma Dome show last November, however that might be attributed mainly to the fact that I was near the front the whole time as opposed to sitting in the back corner on the second level last time. Each time any new Tool material comes out and after each time I attend their performances, I get in this state of mind where I don't even wanna hear any other music for a long period of time for it ALL pales in comparison.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

I feel that as a devout Tool fan, it is my duty to post the setlist again since the one that I saw first of all did not have as much detail as the following, and second of all because they couldn't even get some of the songs in the right order (Disposition THEN Reflection, not the other way around) nor spell them right. So, the REAL setlist, 100% accurate (I took in pen and paper with me and I'm not one of those assholes posting fake setlists): Intro (Adam on Keyboards, Justin on bass) Sober The Grudge -Maynard says "Seattle" twice, then asks "are you sure?"- (-)Ions Stinkfist (Extended w/Elvis Suspicious Minds lyrics during bridge) H. Schism (with intro and extended bridge) Short Jam Parabol Parabola -Maynard thanks us for our support, then asks for a cheer for L.A.- Ænema -Intermission- (Heavy Bass, Loud Noise) Disposition Reflection Triad (extended w/ Thomas from Meshuggah on roto toms) -Maynard thanks Thomas, says a joke, etc. (see below for detail)- Lateralus Tool never ceases to amaze me no matter what they do, it seems. This show was even better than the last. They had more visuals, for example, the backdrop that Alex Grey helped out with. The floating balloons during Parabola (which were also out for Ænema, I might add) were also a wonderful addition, as well as the 7-pointed star that decended from the ceiling during Triad. And did anybody else notice that the light fixture above the stage was also in the shape of a 7-pointed star? The set up was the same as usual. Adam on the left, Maynard just left of center towards the back, Danny on the right, Justin standing in front of Danny. As the intro began, Adam made some sound effects on his keyboard and I believe (though I didn't see, so I can't tell for sure) that Justin added some bass notes. The Intro flowed perfectly into Sober, which I think is an amazing song to open with. I'm very tired right now since it is 12:45 at night and I just got home from the concert, so I won't go into great detail about the show, you'll just have to see one for yourself. But I will add a couple of details. Maynard started out in his leather jacket, then just before Parabol, he stripped down to his black boxer briefs and painted a black stripe down the center of his face...at least I think he painted it on at that point. I didn't see him do it, though I don't remember seeing it before that song. Just before Ænema, Maynard thanked the crowd for their support, then said something along the lines of "let's hear it for L.A." And at that point, I knew what was coming. Not at all surprised since I've seen them play this on many of their previous stops on this tour, nonetheless, very pleased that they played Ænema (as well as H. and Sober, for that matter, which I did not have the pleasure of hearing last time). Just after Triad, Maynard thanked Thomas from Meshuggah for coming out and helping on roto toms. Then he made a joke about taking your ticket stub to some car dealership and getting a discount on I believe a Honda Civic. While the band jammed a bit, he thanked the crowd for sharing this moment with them and he also added that he hoped this left us in some way inspired, healed, or just very, very horny. He then asked that we do something in the coming weeks to create something positive. But in the mean time, to go home, put on some music, pour a glass of some form of alcohol, and have sex. He then added that it would be best to have somebody to take home and have sex with. After this, he said "This next song is dedicated to Layne Staley." and they played Lateralus. It appeared that during Lateralus, Maynard was on a rotating platform since at the very end, he was moving around the stage without lifting his feet. The very last words of the song spoke to me at that moment. The following: With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds and open wide to suck it in, I feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out, I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me. Whatever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been. Spiral out. Keep going. I had my feet upon the ground, was losing myself between the sounds, opening wide to suck it in, and most DEFINITELY feeling it across my skin. I then acted upon the rest of what the lyrics said, reaching up and out, and so forth. But nonetheless, wishing that I would have been able to experience this concert with my friend Kelly, who has never been to a Tool concert, though he had too much work to get done and he couldn't make it. I would've loved to have him there with me, holding me close to him, his arms wrapped around me, experiencing this with me, though maybe that will happen next time around. Sorry you had to miss this, Kelly, but I'll see you tomorrow...and I think I may just have to bring up something that Maynard said right before Lateralus :) After the song, the group got together and had a group hug. They then proceeded to throw drumsticks, cymbals, bass picks, bottles of water, and other various objects into the crowd. Unfortunately, I didn't get anything, but I was just happy to experience another Tool concert. If you haven't seen a Tool concert already, go to one. By ANY means necessary. Spiral Out.

The setlist for the Seattle show was as follows: 1.I want your sex (great intro) 2.Hungry like the wolf Walk like an Egyptian (Singer from Meshuggah assisting Maynard on whistling part) 3.Devil went down to Georgia 4.Love lift us up where we belong 5.Jessie's girl 6.Mr. Roboto 7.Come on feel the noise 8.I like big butts 9.Smokin' in the boyz room 10.I'm too sexy (Danny really jammed on this one) intermission 11.Carma Camellion (Maynard nailed the 30 second scream) 12.Faithfully (Steve Perry joining in on vocals) Overall great show. Even if the setlist is the same as it has been for the last 16,253,859 shows. Adams flute solo was the shit! If I missed any of the songs feel free to make corrections. I was in the bathroom taking a shit for part of the show, and couldn't find my seat for another portion of the show, and then i realized that I wasn't even at the show at all! Man it was a real bummer when I realized I was at defensive driving. Especially after eating 4 hits of acid, smoking 13 bowls of kind bud, and snorting 2 & 1/2 grams of coke. Anyway, it was still a great show. I particularly liked the visuals and artwork by Alex P. Keaton. What an artist! Thats it for now, see you at the lala land show tomorrow. First off, i'd like to thank the 20 or more people for the entertaining mob plowing through the guards to get in GA during sober. That was hilarious. I wonder if any of those got to stay in GA without getting caught. Meshuggah wasn't too bad, reminded me alot of pantera or sound like that. I didnt really care about which songs they played. The first reviewer was right, if you just go to the show without expecting them to play "your song" and so fourth, you probably wont be able to enjoy it as much. This show was much better than the tacoma dome concert. Much more energetic and maynard seem to be very into the show this time. Alot of newer videos on the screens too i noticed. I loved how during reflection, they dropped those huge pictures of alex grey's art, from sacred mirrors i think? All in all, this show just seemed perfect. Timing was right, the crowds attitude towards the band and interaction couldn't have been any better. Everyone was really respectfull during the show, and I remember maynard mentioning "Thanks for your support" during the show. OH also, at the end when they were tossing the water bottles out, i think maynard nailed someone because he threw it to the side and he lifted his hands up like "You should have cought it". Anyways im rambling on, I havent slept in a couple days... All in all, best show I've been to / Most likely any future show i'll go to.

You know, having seen tool exactly 10 times since February 1994, I can honestly say that they are the best band for live performance, and my personal favorite band. But there are somethings that have gone WRONG in TOOL over the past 3 years: 1 STOP PLAYING THE SAME SETLIST. ITS BORING! 2 MAYNARD...STOP PREACHING, GO BACK TO THE BASTARD YOU ONCE WERE, AND STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO. YOU SAY THINK FOR YOUR- SELF, YET YOU GO TELL A BUNCH OF IMPRESSIONABLE, UNABLE TO THINK FOR THEMSELF AMERICANS WHAT TO DO. HOW ABOUT YOU GO MASTERBATE BY A FIRE MAYNARD! 3 VISUALS ARE NICE, BUT YOU'D BE A MUCH BETTER BAND IF YOU STIPPED THE SET DOWN TO JUST YOU GUYS PLAYING. I love the band, but they are to high on themselves, and are forgetting who they once were, and what they meant to their original fan base. WHAT HAPPENED TO STINKFIST? WHAT HAPPENED TO SHIT, BLOOD, AND CUM? WHAT HAPPENED TO "SHOOT YOU MYSELF"?? WHY IS IT ALL OF A SUDDEN "BE PATIENT" AND "WATCH THE WEATHER CHANGE"?

I'm not going to post the setlist. I'm not going to complaint about the fact Tool's been playing the same setlist the entire tour. But there will be complaining, so bear with me. This is a rant, and I dedicate it to all of the bumblebee security wanna-bes guarding the GA entrance. Fuck you all, you and your damned military style tactics. I was forced to buy Seating, but I won't let that get to me. I got past you pricks, and you chased me. But you didn't catch me. Next time, don't go through the trouble of trying to stop a small army of Tool fans from getting near the stage. If I'm dumb enough to move through tight crowd of mostly males, I should be let in with a smile and a wave. Tool was incredible. BUT NOT FROM THE SEATS. My poor friends didn't get past you, and had to squint the entire show. I'm not going to blow 24 bucks on binoculars. I'm going to get up front. By any means necissary, even if it means making your lives a living hell. Hope they take the hint and fire some of you incompetant fucks. Your barely formidable in groups. If I ever see another yellow jacket by GA I will personally come down there and puke all over your cheap t-shirts.

In response to the outcry of displeasure for the same ol' setlist-- go listen to Hush one more time, guys. I think they've made it pretty clear that they'll fucking play what they want to. So either go to the show or don't. Easy decision. This show rawked, BTW. I really enjoyed Sober as an opener, just to kinda get it out of the way. Grudge is when everyone really seems to get going, with the exception of the mullets. I hope they close with Lateralus every time, because it's perfect in the sense of the flow of emotion and sound for their shows. But now I'm sad because I probably won't see them again until after tne next album. Poor guys have been touring practically non-stop since May 2001. They need a nap.

I will keep this short. I can't believe how many people thought that last nights Seattle show was "Stellar" and that thsound was good. That was easily the worst Tool show I have seen. Message for the guys in the band: Play smaller venues, and play multiple nights if necessary. Good set list, horrible sound, Maynard's voice was muddy (Key Area sucks for concerts), and it kind of looked to me like the band was running through the motions.

The set list is pretty much the same as the other shows I saw this year, but I was really happy to hear H., Aenima and Parable/Parabola in the same night. Who am I kidding...I WAS HAPPY TO HEAR EVERY FUCKING SONG THEY PLAYED! Kristen and Sara...hope you guys see this at home...I wish you were hear with me.

Hi. I've been to many tool shows and this was by far the best. At the last 5 I was forced to watch the band gyrate and make music with little in the way of visuals to bring the experience together. This time, all I got was that backdrop and video screens and smaller murals. THANK YOU JESUS CHRIST that two loyal and dedicated OGT mother fuckers had the cohones to SAVE US from that mundane existance and enlighten us with their MASTERFULL display of wiggly laser pointers.... joy... rapture...

Im not sure what the setlist was but i know they started with Sober, i felt like i was on drugs but i wasnt, thats the best way to explain the show last night at the key arena, went through some bullshit to get some tickets, i wasnt going to go unless i had general admission so i was willing to score some from a scalper, me and my buddy finally got some for $80 a peice, it was well worth the extra money, this was a very good show for visual aspects, but the sound sucked, there wasnt enough bass and danny carrey's drums sounded like shit but he still tore it up, the last show was better because they had those people walking around the stage i forget what there called, the key arena sucks for concerts

Ok, I don't remember the whole setlist, but who really cares anyway? I know they opened with sober and they did the extended stinkfist, the grudge, schism, aenima(my favorite) This being my first REAL Tool show, I got what I wanted to get out of it-a great experience. We had a bunch of fuckers behind us telling us to sit down, because 'they didn't pay 50 bucks to look at the back of my T-Shirt'. Losers, sitting down at a Tool concert. Anyway, Maynard didn't get too crazy, just stripped down to his normal speedo shorts and had a black stripe painted down the middle of his face. The lighting was awesome, and the fucking drum solo....can't think of a word for it, so I will make one up. The drum solo was scrumtrilescently amazing. Danny has such endurance. Well, time to go to bed, im dead tired and I have school tomorrow.

I was suprised that the show started with sober. I was expecting something from opiate to open the show but didn't. The show was amazing as usual it was definately better than the T-dome last year but, I liked the 98' Portland,Or. set list and lighting the best. The visuals in this were by far the best, at times the moment felt transcending into another form of consciousness. I haven't seen, heard or felt anything like that from any band out there (except pink floyd & zepplin) It's a shame anyone could complain about a band that has a mainstay in our society like TOOL, there is only a handful (if that) of bands that have been aroud as long and put out as much "good music" as tool does. There were definate overtones of patterns that are found in the Qabala, Flower of life and the Tree of life that were present in there visuals. I'd advise anyone who likes TOOL to take some time to look into it, and I can almost guarantee it will enhance your experience at a concert. Nothing they did was bad they are a top notch band and if they could open with the Def Tones it would make the venue much more incredible then with Meshuggah=( I like the fact that they play their songs in a peculiar timing (5/8 5/7 5/6) it's funny to see the people who want to mosh not really know what to do because the timing is hard to really mosh to. HAHA suckers is this what you wanted, because this is what you get. And to anyone who looks down on pot, if we were to decriminilize marijuana we could save 10$Billion a year and could put that money to school books.

First off, thanks to Tool for doing what they do……..and sharing it with us. Second, thanks everyone at Toolarmy for having the pre- sale, I wouldn’t have been able to get GA tix w/out them!! Sober ‘02 This was my 9th show since Portland in ’98 when I got completely hooked on Tool. Since then I’ve taken two separate road trips to the Bay Area to see them, not to mention all the times I’ve seen them here in Seattle. Why do I do it?? Because these guys are so damn good!!! Watching Danny’s arms and legs blur behind the drums (damn I wish I could play like that guy), seeing Maynard stomp the ground and writhe around like a maniac, and feeling the music around me just kicks ass. A lot of people have been bitching about the set list being the same the whole tour, well, you’re not fucking paying attention. There have been a few songs here and there that they throw in from the old skool (Flood in Oakland was killer!) or they play rare stuff like Ticks ‘n’ Leeches, which I’ve seen twice!! But a lot of the changes are in the songs they always play, like the extended version of Stinkfist. Most of the changes are subtle, small extensions in the song or different drumming patterns. Ya, it would have been sweet to hear some old shit like Hush, Jerk-Off, Crawl Away. But just be happy and feel fortunate that you got to see them at all. I know they appreciate the support of the fans, but I really don’t think they give a shit about people bitching about not hearing the songs they want to hear. They’re doing what they want, if you don’t like it……..fuck you, buddy…….why don’t you just go and kill yourself? Anyway, hopefully this won’t be the last tour for a while. But if they need some time to record a new album or shoot videos…….that sounds good to me!!! Until next time……

Dear Joe TOOL worshipper (Ooh, thats just ironic), There is a lot more out there to Music than just TOOL I know, it might be hard to believe, but it's true. I just wanted to make you painfiully aware, that as noble intentioned as it was to ty to provide a review of TOOL's support act, you rendered your words near mute and practically worthless with your narrow comprehension and shallow references to appearance, in- audible vocals, and stage antics and mostly by a lacking of knowledge in the realm of Music that exists outside the mainstream. Extreme or different-than-radio Music has more to offer than you think. In my opinion (and one I don't believe to be alone)You made yourself a complete ass commenting on their hairstyles numerously and posture and dating their material to the 80s'. Totally juvenile and condescending IMO. Anyone that likes to ignorantly stereotype and generalize a band based on their appearance and one concert experience or the internet is lacking to provide a review that can be taken as objective and of consideration. I hope you don't belong with those that over the years have taken part in booing, disrespecting, and gennerally of a closed nature on TOOL's previous supporting bands, who deserve credit for attempting to open for a band of such magnitude as TOOL. So, I just wanted to say congratulations for making your self look like a ignorant and of narrow perception "jerk-off" and great job alienating people like my self with your lack of insight considering Meshuggah. And on a board that has the potential to be seen by thousands. Great job! Pat yourself on the back. Exactly what TOOL expects from the majority of their "fans".If I might offer some advice from someone who has been it the game of life and Music obviously longer than yourself, maybe in the future try to approcah matters of, at least a Musical nature, with less scrutiny, judgment and opinionation and life can be a lot better. Have a good life. Rev Jim

I know this is not a review but from all the complaints about lack of variation in their sets I'm here to say they do fluctuate from time to time...if your lucky enough to be around when they do.

maynard is a genius. This was the best show yet, and despite the lack of nudity there was talk of sex. They must have had a good night because the energy was high and the band's response to the crowd was the most positive I have witnessed in 8 years. Maynard teased us by not singing the refrain to parabol and others but would make up for it in the end. The show was like a delayed orgasm and by the last tune, the last "spiral grow keep going!" The intensity had reached an insane high and the audience was left screaming for more. No encore

The only concert that can top a Tool concert.... is another Tool concert. This was seriously the best concert I've ever been to (title previously held by last November's show at the T-dome). Meshuggah (eh sorry if i spell it wrong) was a little boring.. definitely good and all and fun to watch, but the music isn't really my thing. Then came Tool. Just fucking amazing. I was down on the floor, and that is the way to see a Tool show... once the crowd calms down. I'm sorry, but we don't need fucking circle pits. Don't come to a Tool concert to mosh and get high (although I dont have a problem w/ people getting high, it doesn't interfere w/ me watching the show), come for the damn music. Respect the band. But back to the show, hearing Sober was just amazing, but the highlight of the show (besides Stinkfist, which is my favorite live song) was definitely reflection. Although cliche, with the glitter coming down on me, it was just surreal. Fucking awesome show. And people bitching about the setlist dont bother me, the real people that pissed me off were the people bitching to the security guards about "next time have a fucking moshpit" Yeah, don't come to a Tool concert just to fucking mosh. Assholes.

Schism Parabol Parabola Ænema Disposition Reflection Triad Laturalus It was a great show, even better than when I saw them in Sac the time before last they played there. The set changes are way cool, and it's a lot more elaborate than the last time I saw them. I loved the Alex Grey art work for back drops and other things. The guys also mixed up Stinkfist and H. a little from the norm, which was pretty cool. They're great in concert, all that can be said. If they're playing anywhere near you, go, you won't regret it.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. The waves of energy and emotion left me helpless in their wake. It's futile to express a tool show in words, so I will just say that the disposition, reflection, triad piece was the highlight for me. Seeing H for the first time was also amazing. Great crowd response (as expected from Seattle) and perhaps the best show I've seen yet. I applaude Tool for coming up Calgary and Edmonton, as we Candadians can't get enough. Hey Maynard, how about donning the ole mullethawk and come out to headbang with Meshuggah. That would be classic.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Hearing distorted, voice temporarily impaired. My neck hurts from the head banging, and the other body motions from getting deeply implanted in the music. TOOL delievered yet again, at Seattle Washington's Key Arena and left thousands satisfied: especially me. Maynard was on top of his game, with his amazing vocals which echoed throughout the venue while Danny, Adam, and Justin took the music to a whole new level. Before I proceed any further, let me begin this review in chronological order, if you will. Myself and the rest of my group of friends/family arrived at Seattle Center a few hours before the concert. We found a parking spot right outside Key Arena, and was then on our way to enjoy all the incredible activities the Center had to offer. Only, I, decided to hang out at the back entrance of the venue, and I ended up seeing Danny Carey ride up on his motorcycle. He stopped and was conversating with one of the security guards at the gate while I snapped some photos, and then proceeded inside the venue. Then around half an hour later, I watched a van with tinted windows pull in. A van that raised by suspicion, and justifiably so. I took a good look inside and seen Maynard sitting down with some of his bags, and behind him were Adam and Justin. They entered through the gate, and their driver proceeded to give the security a hard time, before finally showing the guard their all access pass. The show itself was kicked off a few minutes before 7:30 (starting time) with Meshuggah taking the stage. They immediately begin playing after getting themselves positioned appropriately, and I right away developed my impression of them. Meshuggah was "alright", but not a band I'd follow, or listen too often. The hard screaming, Slip Knot style of music, just doesn't strike my fancy. Their music was hard, and rocked, however the vocals just aren't what I'm looking for. A little over an hour later, the lights went out again leaving the arena pitch black. The crowd exploded, and that all too familiar, yet eerie sound buzzed through the massive speaker set up, and rumbled the building. The Lateralus art appeared upon the two jumbo screens positioned on both sides of the huge stage and through the little light provided, we seen the band walk out to claim their positions and instruments. Our trio began sounding off the unique sounds that have been heard as an extended intro to Sober, and minutes later Maynard appeared jumping out onto his own smaller stage to a huge ovation, clad in his leather pants, shirt, and strapped up boots. A few minutes later, and we kicked off the show. SOBER: New visuals were provided for this opener, however I did recognize some pieces of them from last year's tour. Everyone was singing along with this song and it was perfectly performed. THE GRUDGE: The precussion drumming made the building, and our chests and stomachs rumble. They pounded their way into this song and this was one of the concert's highlights. The Grudge was performed beyond perfection. Very good visuals that have been modified from last year. Maynard was amazing on the microphone, also hitting that 30 second scream towards the end. Then the echo of Maynard's voice that pumped through the speakers at the end of the song, seemed to rip a large reaction out of the crowd. "Let go, let go, LET GOOOOOOOO!" "Seattle..." the crowd erupts. "Seeaatttle..." the reaction continues. STINKFIST [Extended]: This was one of two, personal highlights for me. Stinkfist has long been my favorite TOOL song and right upon the first cords of this song, pummeling through the Key Arena, I was immediately jacked up. The lighting effects and visuals were by far, amazing. I was also thrilled at this being the extended version, one in which Maynard added on those other few lines; "They call it a trap. I can't walk out...because I love you too much baby..." H: The second of two highlights for me. I can't describe the feeling I got from hearing the two songs I wanted to hear above all else at this show, and they were back to back. This song couldn't have been any better. A song that makes me think of someone special. The entire crowd was into this song, singing along. Maynard's voice seemed to penetrate me at times, and I can still hear his echos; "I...I...I...I DON'T MIND!" SCHISM [Extended]: This song began with their new intro, which then lead into the original intro. This song was what I expected and rocked the venue. The crowd was really into this song as well, and sang along from beginning to end, especially in the final moments when Maynard wrenched on the microphone spewing out that fine and aggressive tone. "I know the pieces fit! I know the pieces fit!" PARABOL/PARABOLA: At this point, Maynard undressed down to his boxers which is a usual occurance at a TOOL performance. Parabol started out in its usual calm manner, and lighters were of course held up all over the venue. Everybody then erupted when Adam's drawn out cords lead us into Parabola. This song was superb, as were its visuals. Which are still entirely the official music video. Maynard's voice again echoed in the final moments, seemingly never ending: "We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion...ion...ion...ion..." "Thank you very much for your support." Maynard walked around a few times speaking to us, then hunched over and gripped the microphone with both hands and began hyperventilating, much to the crowd's delight, leading us into the next song. AENEMA: "Learn to swim! Learn to swim!" This was an awesome performance, which also demanded a lot out of the crowd who were really into this song as well. Maynard was especially active during this song, as well as Justin and Adam who were moving around a bit as well, wrenching on their respective guitars. -- A breif intermission was held. -- DISPOSITION/REFLECTION/TRIAD: Disposition kicked things off in a mellow manner. "Mention this to me...and watch the weather change." The mellow song continued with breath taking visuals now all over the venue, as well as on the two big screens. Reflection then grew a bit tense and the crowd looked on in amazement. The final cords of Reflection were then slowly drowned out by the loud precussion drumming of Triad, which was a very astonishing crossover. Triad [all instrumental] then got the crowd pumped up yet again. Maynard then spoke to the crowd once again. This time being quite vocal. He gave us the message about creating something positive. Stating that tonight might have left us "inspired" or "incredibly horny." Whatever the case, take the feelings and make something good. Maynard then dedicated the last song, Lateralis, to the late Layne Staley who was the frontman/vocialist of Alice In Chains. Layne was a Seattle native. LATERALIS: The visuals for Lateralis were beyond excellent. The crowd exploded with this song and I don't think there was anybody who wasn't singing along or in someway, being active in their body motions. Maynard's stage then began spinning, with a glowing spiral shining down upon it as he sang on, then concluding..."SPIRAL OUT! KEEP GOING!" The show ended with a huge bang and the entire band tossed out remaining water bottles and of course the drum sticks. The band then all came together and slapped hands and embraced in a group hug. The band then walked around for a few moments waving at the fans. Thank you TOOL, for again delievering. It made the near 500 mile trip from Oregon and back, worth it. Spiral Out... ...Keep Going

Damn...it was good! The wife asked "why after not going to a 'rock' concert in over ten years, do you have to go to this one?' I said 'Tool speaks to me'. How do you explain it to a non-believer? As an old fart +~45+, this is the shit! I was up in the cheap seats +101/27+. Most people all around stood until the break...I couldn't sit down. What a great crowd. All of the good things have been said already, fuck the bad stuff. I wished I could have talked my 17 YO into going...this is the SHIT! L T S

Well Hey This was not only my first Tool show but my first show alltogether. It was aweomse i was probably 3 people back from the barrier. To be honest i'm not much of a Tool fan never was and after seeing them probably never will be my freind on the other hand biggest frickin Tool fan there is and also a lucky basturd he got a Drumstick from Meshuggah and a half empty bottle of water from Tool. But, anyways i will say the show was amazing best i've seen but, i have nothing to compare it to. I had listen to Meshuggah a bit a few weeks before the show and i dident like there music but i thought they were frickin amazing live better Tool on some levels. They actully got into it. the guitarist spinnin around the headbangin and shit very nice. and i liked that the lead singer was actully at the front walkin back and forth unlike Tool they just stood there dident move much and frickin Maynard way at the back of the stage i thought that was crappy. And for all those who say Meshuggah needs to cut there hair fuck you. and fuck you to all the potheads to there was tomany of you basturds there. Well i guess thats all i got to say the show was awesome i'm fuckin happy that went and now i cant wait for DIO, HAMMERFALL, KINGS X to start there US tour in November that will in my mind outdo Tool because HAMMERFALL is fuckin awesome anyways good show hope everyone had fun i did

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

I have seen TOOL before, but being on the floor is such a different experience: more intimate and sensual. The backdrops and such were done by Alex Grey. See the two large backdrops, Interbeing and Collective Vision, here: http://www.alexgrey.com/posters.html (there is a popup but you can also scroll to the bottom of the posters page). Midway through the show, six smaller screens dropped from the ceiling. On the left was Skeletal System, and two of Nervous System, Cardiovascular System, or Viscera (I forget which two). On the right was Psychic Energy System, Spiritual Energy System, and Universal Mind Lattice. These were from Alex Grey's Sacred Mirrors: http://www.sacredmirrors.org/mirrors_view.html There were two relatively small video screens as well, displaying their music video clips, naked figures, and other kaleidoscope-type psychedelia. My favourite image was of what appeared at first to be a textured ring, but was really a snake swallowing it's tail, and moving around in a loop eating itself. What really impresses me about their live show is that it is overall a psychedelic, mind-opening experience, and that is what they try to create. Maynard asked that everyone go home and have sex after the show. He also asked for evryone to try to initiate some positive change in their lives over the coming monthes. I hope that evryone will really take that to heart, including myself. You may all think I am some TOOL freak, but not many bands have the ability to create music that is so intimate to me, that really makes me want to learn and grow and be a better person. The only other group I can compare this to would be Pink Floyd. Okay, rant over now.

One word and only one word about this show.... Meshuggah. Tool just made dry humor (as they always do) towards the crowd. I mean when you write a song about ridding the scum of the world away and they come to your show, why not make fun of them. Well anyways, back to Meshuggah. Meshuggah, Adam Jones favorite band, blew Tool away in my opinion. Tool just OPed (over produded) the whole thing out of proportion. Meshuggah on the other hand did not. Just the NOTHING tour settup - the nothing face - was all they needed. The singer standed in the middle of the mouth and everyone else scattered around. Meshuggah gave me the intensity of existentiaism and that was the only reason I bought that goddamned tool ticket which is precisely what it was. This being my third tool show didn't give me much forward to since the other shows were more of a comedy hour than a concert (man did i laugh when i was people singing "fuck all you juckies and fuck your short memories," and smoking a joint at the same time. This one bald guy facing up at the ceiling during Parabol - like he was having sex or something - and when Parabola kicked in he opened his eyes real slowly like some religious experience or something. He wasn't even facing the same way as the stage. I was on the ground laughing, I can't take that kind of shit). Like i said, Meshuggah definitely blew Tool the fuck away this time. Comedy Einstein metal is more fun to me than alterna-comedy metal King Crimson wannabes. Man life is great when you can say something like that and be serious. Travel safely.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

As many have already said the show was phenomenal. I drove from Portland to see the show and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed Messugah, they combine Slayer like sound with unusual synchopation to create something that is pretty original. The hghlights of Tool was Schism and Reflection. There is always a point in a Tool show that one can have a mystical and existential experience. It's different for everyone, for me it was durring Schism towards the end at "between supposed lovers. . . . between supposed brothers". Something about that moment struck me spiritually. Reflection was simply incredible! The animation was visually stimulating and inspired thought. The banners which hung from the ceiling added to the effect as did the artwork on the enourmous tapestry. Tool is awesome!! They are the most incredible band I have ever heard and they proved it last night. By the way I really like Maynard's 'do something positive speech' at the end of their concerts. It is really what the band is all about. And one more thing, the guys with the lazer pointers should have left them at home, what asses!

...o my, people around here really seem to have trouble posting just once-- I'll try not to make the same mistake. ;) ...naturally, the show was wonderful-- leaving me feeling happily overwhelmed & completely in love. ...although admittedly I enjoyed the show I went to in Portland (OR) last fall just a little bit more-- this most likely because it had been my very first. ...there were a few things I liked better, however-- for one, Maynard was far more energetic this time around, often dancing his beautiful, primal dance, & he had on far less clothing too, mmm. :) ...for another, the imagery that accompanied the music was just as gorgeous as ever-- as a funeral director, these images always tend to remind me of things I see when I'm embalming someone. ...Reflection was rapturous to me, & it always thrills me when the soft Parabol becomes the hard Parabola-- & they played H, which I'd so been longing to hear them play live! ...unfortunately, I found Meshuggah a bit boring after the novelty of watching the simultaneous handbanging wore off & one song began to blur into the next-- perhaps I was just too anxious for Tool to come on to give them a chance. ...o, & the gits who thought it'd be great fun to shine their laserpointers up onto the curtain & the screen while Tool played-- they should be happy I couldn't be bothered to come down & gouge their fucking eyes out. I can't believe a Tool fan would do something such as that. ...btw, there seems to've been some confusion in one of the aforementioned posts as to what Maynard suggested we go rent-- it was Caligula. :) Caligula, a cocktail, & sex!

Lets exclude the fact that I just saw Tool for a minute. Last night was the luckiest night of my life. I had the worst seats imaginable, I wouldn't have been able to see Danny or Maynard or the screens very well at all. So my mom(she was a tool fan way before I was) and I decided we were going to try and sneak into better seats. These seats were waaaayyy better. They were at the very top of the very back, but we could see everything. When the people who were supposed to sit in those seats came, they said we could stay and they were going to find better seats themselves(thanks you guys if you read this). We were able to sit there the whole night. There were alot of other things that happened that were really cool too, but I'll try not to bore you. Anyway onto the review. I'm sure you've read the setlist an the way the stage was set up(both were awsome). I saw them last year in November in Portland(that's were I live) and it was no where near as good as lastnight's was. I'm bad with words, so I'm not even going to try and explain how the show made me feel, except to say it was great(duh)! After the show I wanted to try and meet the guys but they didn't come out where we(about 6 of us) were standing). As I was leaving I saw Adam and yelled "hi" like and idiot 3 or 4 times until he turned around and waved. Then I saw Danny walk out arm in arm with some chick and then he kissed her goodbye. I tried to get his atention but the buses were too loud and he didn't hear me. Anyway, I'll stop rambling and let you get onto the next review(if there are any, it's getting kind of late).

Same set list as the SLC show minus 46 & 2, blue eon apocolypse, the patient, add H. I can't say i was dissapointed...they ing showed up and didn't yell at us or leave early, so it was a success. The visuals were twice as cool this time, and maynard was dressed for most of the show. Adam chopped his hair short? Anywayz TooL rocked Boise, and as far as I could tell we refrained from moshing. Lots of people were on club and were passing out in the middle of the crowd, and there were tons of s pushing paths through the pit. No respect. TooL...come again.

Well, I must start by thanking tool for returning to Boise after a less than pleasant experience the last time... but the show this evening was nothing less than a phenomenon.. again. I'm sure many people will post the setlist..over and over again, so I'll just omit that for now and hope K-funk gets it right. I will say, however, that I was very happy to see that Tool followed their summer tour trend by opening with Sober, and closing the encore with Lateralus, Maynard emerging with his farmiliar leather garb and painted face. If you are one of the people out there like me who have traveled for hours on end to see these guys (great SLC trip fellas) then you'll agree with me when I say every show Tool creates is a life molding experience, especially your first time. So, short of the ogres who felt a need to shove their way to the front of the action, only to cause trouble and in turn prevent some from enjoyment- (You know who you are, bastards) -a great show overall. I'll give it an 8.9 On the Tool-ometer. If you haven't already, get off your ass and go see Tool.

To any body that is thinking of complaining about the set list right now: good for you. A rock concert costs too much to here the same songs played over and over again. To those who tell us "not to bitch about the set list and to just be thankful for the concert itself": quit sucking up to Tool and admit that it is dick of them to give the same show to the same states more than once. Tool is one of my favorite bands but how can you tell me that it is fair of them to repeat the same concert. Think about it. Late!

Even though sister and i had seats, we had them in the perfect spot, right where we could see EVERYTHING (including maynard in his little black skivies!). The crowd was wild and so was everyone around me including myself in my one (wo) man mosh. fuk yea! i was amazed but TOOL always amazes. Hey LIAM-i still can't perfect the "most annoying noise in the world" wooooo! Thank you, Maynard, for dedicatiing "Laturalus" to Layne, it worked.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

One word to describe the show: Un-Fuckin’-believable I’ll go ahead and start w/ the standard set list: Sober Ions The Grudge Stinkfist H. Schism Parabol Parabola Aenima *Intermission* Reflection Disposition Triad Lateralus This is was second time seeing TOOL since 1998 when they were in Boise, in which they left after only 55 minutes after an unruly crown and a shoe-throwing incident. They seemed really laid back this time. All Maynard said at the beginning was “Good Evening” and “Clean the pig shit out of your ears . . . is this Boise?” It was as if they were not even playing to the crowd (not in a bad way). They seemed really comfortable and at peace and rarely looked out into the crowd. Even after the second time of seeing these guys live, I still have a crap-load and respect for Danny. I spent most of the concert taking in what he was doing. Since I’m a drummer, I answered a lot of my own “How the hell did he play that on the album?” questions. Danny also stayed pretty close to the drum fills on the record, but during “Sober,” he played a totally uncharacteristic lick and Adam, Justin, and Maynard gave him the “What the fuck was that?” look. At the end, Maynard turns away from the crowd to do his standard metaphysical reflection, in which he said (forgive me if I miss a word or two), “I hope that you will leave here inspired and healed. As you go home tonight, hopefully this will all make sense to you in a couple days, weeks, months, years . . . into something positive.” The band poses for a camera on stage w/ the crowd behind them and throws some h20 bottles, some sticks, drum heads (like Frisbees), and gee-tar picks. I was up front (second row floor) for Meshuggah and the first part of TOOL before the intermission. I missed most of their visuals on the stage, but I came to see TOOL, not projected hallucinogenic enhancing images. The crowd was a typical Boise crowd. People fighting, pushing and shoving to get to the front. There were a lot of belligerent assholes in the crowd who were there to just start trouble and be asses. These are the people who have no idea of what the ideas of TOOL are all about. Make positive things out of a situation, and love each other. On a side note, someone tried to start something w/ my little brother (17), but I talked this stupid redneck down to just calm down and enjoy the show. He was pretty quick to agree. I was pretty surprised, he was a husky MF that looked at least 300 lbs, so I thought he was going to kick my ass since I said something. Guess not?! The opening act, Meshuggah was cool! I’ve heard them before on CD, so I knew it would be a bit weird for the crowd to follow at first. Some of their stuff was a little too slow for a live concert setting, but I was still impressed. Thank god they came back to Boise after we misrepresented ourselves as stupid redneck moshers! K

Great show, huh.. Well there have been many complaints about how the set list has not really changed much at all throughout the whole entire tour. What we seem to forget is that opiate was written over 10 years ago, undertow- around 10, aenima- 7... Those songs are all so great. But I believe that the direction the band is going in has very little representation by those previous albums. I don't think maynard really wants LA to fall into the ocean anymore. Thankfully, they've recognized as very few other artists have, that at a certain point -when the anger is gone, or when you're just tired of hating so much- you move on.. How many more lyrically angsty songs can one man come up with before it is ingenuine and tired.. Personally I'd get a little disgusted with myself knowing I'm writing a song that some steroid pumper plays to motivate himself to do an extra 50lbs. We are probably lucky that they still play Aenima, Sober, Pushit, Opiate, et al. for us. Because it is just for us.. Lateralus is such a clear document of how far they have come since prying Open their 3rd Eyes. Create something positive isn't a gimmick.. nite

This was my second Tool show. I had some pretty bad seats and couldn't see Adam or Justin at all, but (and I mean absolutely no offense here) that's not a big deal. I could see the screens, Maynard, and Danny (God). I was pumped that they played H., I was hoping that they would since I boght the tickets, though the suprise highlight was Lateralus. Most of the people on the floor might not have seen, but maynard was gliding around somehow as if he were floating. I don't know how they did that, but it looked cool. Thanks for the tribute to Layne, it made the whole night incredible. Stop whining about the set. Lateralus as a whole is the most inspirational album of all time, and I was actually upset that they didn't play the whole thing. Maynard is fucking amazing, but even he can't sing "all your favorites." I love Reflection, I love the Grudge, Parabola, Schism.....leave it alone. The only way it could have been better would have been the include 46 & 2, but I'll take the evening for what it was: my semi-annual Tool fix that will leave me with a great sense of amazement for a long time. I'd donate a testicle to hang out with those guys just once, but we'll take that one day at a time. Thanks for another great evening.

I don't understand why people bitch and complain about their setlist. I don't give a shit what they play because I think that every one of their songs are better than anything that any other band has ever written. I personaly like the performance of stinkfist and H. Those hovering balloon things were pretty trippy. If I wasn't a religious man I'd consider TOOL a god but for now they are pretty close. Hell yeah! I hope they come back to the key the next time they roll on an American tour.

Alex Grey is fucking amazing. i know i missed the shows is spokane and tacoma but compared to the tour with king krimson it varied quite abit. i htough it was odd that there was no encore but the only thing left that i wanted to hear was opiate (ive seen them play it before and on top of that they have been playing it for over 10 years) eualogy and ticks and leeches. both of which are rarely played live. on the up note i have also seen eulogy.it was funny how at the end a recorded voice came over the P A and said "the show is over, there is nothing left to see, go home" and my favorite, "GET THE FUCK OUT" the show was fuckin awesome, youve already read the setlist. AND I GOT SOME GLITTER. if you went to the show you know what i mean.

Man, what an incredible stage setup. Tool was fantastic tonight, and Maynard was really getting into it, which is always a pleasure to witness. The Alex Grey backdrop was absolutely stunning. Meshuggah was very heavy, with lots of weird timing and awesome chords. I enjoyed them quite a bit. Tool was so on tonight. They played extended versions, or alterred versions of many songs, including Schism, H, Sober, and Stinkfist. When the backdrop first rolled down after the second song, maybe the first....I can't remember, it was so beautiful! Very surreal, even moreso than other Tool shows I've been fortunate enough to attend. I kept noticing different parts of the picture as the lighting changed. It was a painting from the Sacred Mirrors, with some other things in it, I'm not sure if it's staright from the book, I'll have to look when I get home, but I think that the life and death cycles were added, and not present in that particular painting in the book. Tool was so tight tonight, it was unbelievable. They would have these breaks in the middle of a song, and all stop suddenly, and come together perfectly for these moments. It was beautiful, and moving, and everything else that Tool is live. Wonderful show, one of the best I've ever seen of them. I hope that everyone got to go who wanted to. It was a gorgeous, soulful, lovely, intense experience. Great songs, performed almost flawlessly. The visuals on the screens were awesome, mostly the same fare as recent tours, but some new additions. The sacred miorrors dropped down toward the latter part of the show. It was so much sensory information to take in. The band was great, and very gracious to the audience. Overall, one of the best Tool shows I've seen. Better than the Paramount shows. Just excellence in motion. Everyone was in top form tonight. Truly incredible, and full of feeling and passion. Joel~

after posting my last review and reading most of the other reviews i htought i should share something. first off tool is not in it for the money. i was surprised by a few songs especially H. i had noticed a few things the band did differently. ive never seen them do a group hug before or go that crazy throwing stuff out to the fans. its obvious that they enjoyed playin as much as i enjoyed being played for. tool is about the muci. they do it for themselve. stop your bitchin about the setlist being the same. opiate has been out for neally 11 years im sure tey are tired of playing those songs, as well as from undertow. also this a tour for the album lateralis. they are ot like ac dc who play all of their old hits and maybe 1 new song. at the end of the show they had that recording that said get the fuck out. i thought it was hilarious but my friend said some thing that scared me. heres how the concersation went BEN - that makes me nervous, what if this is like a farwell tour or something. ME - why would they do that Tool is on top of the world right now musicall and artisically. BEN - exactly what more can the accomplish. dont shit your pants any one its just a what if and i doubt anyone will read it anyway. it was just odd that there was no encore and right after laterais the lights came n and out came the stage crew.

The show was everything and more than I expected. first of all 1. Maynard played the guitar 2. they played one of my favorite songs H. 3. Maynard communicated with audience, I loved to hear him say "I hope this inspires you to go out and do something positive." That pretty much sums up his whole attitude that night. 4. A security guy took us down onto the floor!!!! 5. The security guy gave us aftershow passes!!!! 6. I FUCKING MET MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN!!!! An amazing experience i never even thought possible. with a dedication to AIC lead. THe shit i drove six hours for a damn good reason the only shitty thing : MESHUGGAH MAYNARD IS THE FUCKING MAN

This was this reviewer's 5st? Tool show

There's enough about the show already - which I agree was a great one. But can I get a hellz yea, what the funk was up the Key Arena's management??!?!?!?!? This was by far the most poorly organized public event I have ever been to in my life! After it was all said and done I realized there was only one time in my life that I got angrier than I did that night. The line to get in was big - but that is nothing new since 9/11. But it all started when I went down to the floor with my ticket in hand and was told I needed a wristband to get onto the floor – my ticket was worthless. Oh - stupid me for not knowing this and not knowing I needed to seek this wristband out on my own once I entered, with no head’s up or proactive assistance from the Key Arena staff. So back up the steps I go and there are no wristband - all out. So back down to the floor I go, same as before - no wristband - no entry. Kindly enough, the security guard calls over her supervisor who assures me more wristbands are on the way - as he confirms in his handy headset. So back up the stairs I, and what is now a small group of people getting angry, go. And still no God Damn - wristbands!. The information booth does not have any idea what happened to the wristbands and there is “nothing she can do for us”. So now the house lights have dropped and Tool's intro music is on. Now peeps are pissed. We march back down to the floor - I get some other fucking supervisor jackass who tells me he's talking to “them” right now and they have more wristbands. I say then you please come with me, because I KNOW when I get back up there, there ain't going to be shit. He says he can't do that and asks me if I would prefer to leave the building. By now the entire row of step is stacked four/five people across all the way up with floor tickets THEY ALL PAID FOR and no wristbands. I ask Mr. Super to send one of the 20 other security guards he as called over to help keep the people who paid to be there out, up to get a handful of wristbands at least to administer to the people down at the floor, rather then sending us on another goose chase, leading nowhere. He tells me, "They won't do that." I am a very patient man by nature, more than most I feel anyway - and I lost it! I ran up these fucking steps (there was no jumping the wall by this time with all the security that was called over – one guy even offered the dude $20 and he was like, “No wristband…) screaming my head off, cursing every possible angle of Key Arena management I could think of, for I knew Mr. Super's assurance of more wristbands was in no hope a reality that would place me onto the floor by cord one of Sober. So back up to the information booth and it turns out now she has AT LEAST figured out that any wristband potential is all the way on the other side of the building. This whole time, not only have they been out of wristbands, but she did not even know where they were being handed out when they did have them - and neither of the supers down below had the decency to tell me either; simply, "At the top of the steps." So I sprint to the north west whatever the hell section of the Arena as Sober is starting and find a generous line of people waiting for wristbands. I move two, three max, paces forward and guess what - they're out again! I proceed to curse the management and the closet security guard as flustered, and in hindsight as non-coherent, as I have ever been. Once The Grudge had started I decided to throw in the towel and just find somewhere inside to watch the show I paid good money for. Oh - and my buddy who I went to the show with – I lost him long ago and thus his wristband adventure is a story of it’s own. I made my way down the rear entrance to the floor, for I figured why not and the security guard there proceeded to give me the wristband bit and I told her I would just watch the show from there then. She asked to see my ticket and without hesitation, let me past. Thank YOU - whoever you are! So my anger subsides for now and I enjoyed what was a great show. Enjoyed everything except for the tightest security I have ever seen - guard after guard coming onto the floor and escorting people out, flash lights on anyone who lights up a cigarette… I mean - ridiculous! People were afraid to move at all around me for fear of yellow shirt coming to grab them. But non-the-less, I got my enjoy on. But onto the exiting part now. These dumb (whoever it is that is managing this thing) asses - have maybe 4 of the 15 stair exits out of the floor, open. Every other one is closed off and people are just stuck on the floor - not moving - I'm pacing back and forth like a cow waiting to be taken into slaughter. When we FINALLY get off the floor - the outer lobby is just not moving at all. After what seemed like an eternity in a heard of people who wanted nothing more than to get the hell out of Key Arena forever and shove their wristband up the Arena’s ass - I mean people were actually wondering if we were getting searched on our way out - but I finally get up to the doors - the only set of doors in the whole place and I imagine there has got to be at least 10 sets of doors around the place - but even the one set of doors only had 4 open while another 4 right beside it were closed and locked. I mean - COME ON PEOPLE - what the hell was the Key Arena trying to prove that night? I saw we get a pole of all the people who experienced what I did and at least for the whole wristband thing, get our money back. I mean all said and done, I had to sneak onto the floor, missing the first song and half, when I paid and had a legit ticket for entry. And I only got down because I snuck in - I can't imagine how much of the show the poor people missed who actually waited for the wristbands, IF they EVER even got them!

Just a few concerns as I read the reviews of others: Do people understand the stage set-up of TOOL? Do they understand that tool is about music and evoking a response from the audience, to make them think for themselves and generate their own feelings. Their is good reason maynard is at the back of the stage, so that they aren't force feeding ideas down our throat, that the emphasis is placed on the music and the lighting, not on individual band members. When has tool ever in their career shown that they were concerned about their image and how people perceived them? never, it's about the music and their ideas, thus even at a live show they put emphasis on visuals and music, not individual members. Not to down-play Meshuggah, as I'm not familiar with their music, but they could really use some sound engineering help. They may do some amazing things with polyrhythmics and polychording, but until they actually make use of their EQ system so that it comes out clear and not a muddy wall of sound, people will not respect them as much. As far as tool playing the same set-list, there will always be new-comers to any concert, and for those of us that had never seen the show, anything was welcome. For repeat concert goers to tool with the same setlist, well, I'm sorry you had to see the same set-list,... but would you rather have not seen tool at all? Remember, they just finished a tour and only had a 3 week break. They probably only went on this tour for the fans, so that more people could see them that perhaps didn't get to before. If you have a problem with the show, try going on a world tour, then 2 consecutive national tours and see how well you can completely alter the show. it's far more difficult than you'd realize. As much as we want to believe tool is a band of gods, they are simply human like us....just with phenomenal musical talent. One final thought....the comments of anyone that have to post their exact same review 2 - 8 times represents someone that is devoid of patient and intelligence and their review probably shouldn't be respected by anyone. learn how to read you belligerent fuckers.

Setlist was same as the other 2 nights. For some reason Sober is always good even if it's not one of my favorite studio songs. Likewise, Disposition, Reflection, and Triad are also a wonder - very trancelike and capturing songs live. These were probably the biggest highlights for me; though, i've been waiting to see h for awhile also, so that was nice. Band seemed in good spirits and was not pissed off by the Boise crowd this time (i was not at the 1st show). And last, it's always fun to see big guys who think they're tuff push their way up to the front only to be running out after a few songs while toothpick people like me stay in the whole time. It's all heart, baby.

Nothing I thought could compair till last night. Meshuggah came out first to open up, and had a pretty energetic set. During it the lead singer reminding us that it was almost time for TOOL. FInally when TOOL did come out the first thing you were able to see was Danny Careys golden drum set. Then adam, justin, and of Course maynard all came out and gave the phanominal show that has ever come to Boise Idaho. EVER! The lights were awsome with the visual screen flashing adams bizzar yet wonderful images on the screen. I guy on shrooms net to me said that this was the greatest thing he had ever seen in his life, and i cant say i dont agree with him.

All i have to say is that the concert kicked major ass. This was my first tool concert and first concert ever and it was worth what i spend for it. The setlist was the same as Alaska's but it all good. Meshuggah started about 7:30 and played for about 45 minutes. They were alright but i'm not really into that kind of music but it was all good. The whole thing about not being able to mosh was pretty gay but i guess thats what they have to do if they don't want anyone to get injured. At about 8:15 Meshuggah was finished with there show. The singer kept on saying something like you ready to see TOOL and of corse i was hella yeah... When there show was over they roadies came out and started getting the Tool stage ready. It took about 10-15 minutes. Then when TOOL came out the key arena exploded people were screaming and it was hella badass. Iended up getting right in front of the front rail and screaming and sang to ever song. As Maynard, Adam, Danny, and Justin the arena nearly collapsed by the noise. As you all know Sober was the first song and that kicked major ass. i never thought that being at a live event would be so badass. then the list of all songs were the same as all what others have posted. All i have to say is if you haven't been to a Tool concert you have to go. it's an experience of a lifetime. so everybody who reads this if Tool comes to your hometown or even 200 miles away from it you should go. Good luck and have fun.

Hey, I went to the Seattle show on the 2nd. I'd never been to ANY concerts before, snf I'm a huge Tool fan, so needless to say my imagination was running wild. The concert, by far, surpassed my expectations. By the time the show ended, there wasn't one person sitting down (I looked pretty thoroughly) and security had given up on surveilence and were just watching the show. It was the greatest thing I'd ever seen. Setlist *as best as I can remember* Sober The Grudge H. Stinkfist Aenima (the best song of the night, as far as I'm concerned) Parabol Parabola Disposition Reflection Triad (with added drumming by Thomas from Meshuggah) a speech about being Horny and having sex, funny stuff. Lateralus It was great. Meshuggah was kinda lame. It's too easy just to be loud, and their songs had no substance at all.

Wow, what an amazing experience. First of all, Messhugah sucked really bad. I hate them for hurting my ears. But anyways, for all of you planning to see them later this tour- the new tour merchendise is amazing. I saw like 5 new shirts last night that are brand new. "Inside the Outside Tour." The lighters that people in the crowd lit were really cool. The shoes thrown from the pit weren't. That's why TOOL left in '98. The Alex Grey backgrounds were the same as the Summer 2002 tour. Maynard wore a Black leather suit until intermission, then back to his underwear. Adam actually moved around. Justin was really into it, just having a great time. Danny was playing his ass off, he is so incredible to witness live. 100% accurate, the setlist was and is as followed: Sober The Grudge Stinkfist H. Schism Parabol Parabola Aenema --Intermission-- Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus The intro to sober had us fooled. It started as the classic merkaba into sober notes, but changed to the 2001 tours pre-grudge noise and then back into merkaba notes. The new visuals for the Grudge made this song one of the most stunning. Stinkfist had the Elvis and White lines. H. had an amazing visual of a snake-like thing consuming itself in a circle. AMAZING! Schsim had some new visuals as well as the summer 2002 long extension in the song. Parabol had a strange intro and new visuals. Parabola- Floating Parabola video balls (seemed larger than summer 2002). AEnema- Maynard did the "Think For Yourself, Question Authority" speech, but Ive never seen it done to this song. (If only we could have seen Third Eye.) AEnema is always fantastic live, so enough said. The intermission had the summer 2002 "man/skull" only WAY more intense with more visuals and had a background of the floating vajras from the beginning of the real Parabol/Parabola music video. Disposition was decent; nothing new. Reflection was the best song of the night. It had new visuals of a praying mantis (its eye creates mathmatical shapes, then it walks away) and the other trippy visuals from the summer 2002. Triad had visuals of the Salival "man" spinning to some undesribeable yet familiar visuals. It had someone named Joe Paul on drums. Lateralus was the highpoint of the concert, being the end. Lateralus had a new intro and was fucking amazing. After it was over, Maynard jumped on Danny's back (piggy- back style) and they hugged. They threw like 4 or 5 drumheads. Maynard threw 3 or 4 waterbottles, and Adam threw crumpeled up setlists. I satyed after the concert until 1:15 a.m. to try and get something autographed or meet TOOL. Failed. Some people of the TOOl family (I couldn't see) were lighting off fireworks outside the stadium. That was cool, since they are illegal in Boise. We walked around to a secret entrance to the busses and saw that one of them said "ROCK ON" in the window. Wether this was TOOL's bus or not, I don't know. Just a useless fact. It was an amzing experience nontheless, and I hope Orem, UT will be just as amazing. Thanks for your time. -Ryan P.S. I audio recorded this concert. Its not amazing quality, but still a good remembrance of the concert. If anyone wants to purchase this audio or master it for me, feel free to e-mail me. Audios.

Songs about taking off your clothes and riding and smoking leave me healed and peaceful when I listen to them. He is beyond amazing live. The guys who rap about cars and money, Big Tymers, left me orgasming in my seat, with their fat faces and dirty teeth. It turns me on! Nelly's opening act, TOOL, got boo'd off of the stage after five songs. I think they are alright, but they are just disturbed freaks who play the same song over and over...But don't worry, it is a very good song with only 5 seconds worth of lyrics. TOOL......what is this world coming to. The tall drummer guy got nailed in the head with 50 glass bottles before Nelly came on and ripped up the house. Nelly is my inspiration. His songs about riding in cars and shit and taking off your clothes because it is hot have turned my life around. On my 28th B-day, Nelly inspired me enough to move out of my parents' and start my own street business selling genetically engineered plants. well if you haven't seen Nelly yet, SEE HIM SOME TIME BEFORE YOU DIE. Wow, what an amazing experience. First of all, Messhugah sucked really badly. I hate them for hurting my ears. The 3 guitar players would do the tri-bang. All of them would head bang their extremely long hair. Their music was incredibly loud and obnoxious. If anyone actually could understand a single word form one of their songs, I’m impressed. But anyways, for all of you planning to see them later this tour- the new tour merchandise is amazing. Schism Parabol Parabola Ænema --Intermission-- Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus The intro to sober had us fooled. It started as the classic merkaba into sober notes, but changed to the 2001 tours pre-grudge noise and then back into merkaba notes. Note: I apologize if this is posted twice. OK. Here's the set list. 99.9 percent sure. Sober The Grudge Aeon Blue Apocolypse (Maynard whispering) - Maynard greets crowd. Asks us to wipe (shit?) out of ears to get us to cheer loudly when he asks if this is Boise for a third time. Stinkfist (Extended) H. Schism (Extended) Parabol Parabola - Maynard says to look at the next song in a new light because of the trying social and political times we're having. Third Eye Intro (Maynard says "Think for yourself, question authority") Aenima Intermission Reflection Disposition Triad (Guest Percussionist) - Maynard's closing comments Lateralus No mistakes that I noticed during the show. They played excellantly. After the lights went out, everyone waited for the band. I saw a glowing face that really shocked me. I figured it was Maynard and it was really eerie and spectacular to see his glowing face in the dark right before they kicked into Sober. I haven't been to every Tool show this summer, and I know there was a major incident the last time they were in Boise, but I would have to say the band was in to it. Maynard danced and was near the front of the stage more than I recalled at a previous show and comparing to other reviews. But he also turned away when he would talk sometimes, too. Of course, there were some meathead, Fred Durst clones near the stage . . . but that's to be expected. Every 5-10 minutes a few people would take a spill and I was really worried the show would be stopped as several people caved in. Luckily they were helped up in time before it got serious. It really only takes about 5 or 6 meatheads to really fuck up a few rows of people on the floor. Getting hit unexpectedly during Disposition is not the correct form of moshing for a Tool show, but I looked at these people as a minority and didn't let it get to me. Overall, the show was amazing, and I'm glad Tool shared their talent with their true fans that night. Very emotional and tumultuous show that made me feel connected to the art they were performing.

well I would have to say that boise grew up a little since the last time the band was there. it was agreat show. meshuggah was a little harder than i expected them to be but good none the less. maynard gave the question authority, think for yourself speech.it was good to hear him talk to the crowd. I was sure that after the last show they had in boise we wouldnt get anything out of him. he did say "so this is boise?". got a lack luster response from the crowd so he followed that question up with" hey clean the pig shit out of your ears and pay attention so this is boise?" much better response from the crowd that time.same set list but dont really care. they can play whatever they want and it will be a great show. danny peeled the skins off the drums and threw them in the crowd. all in all the show was much better than the show i seen in utah a couple of months ago. gonna go see them again next week in orem,ut. cant wait.

I cant really say much to describe it, because their shows are so good they are undescribable. I love when they hug at the end of their shows though. What can I saw about this show other than it was the best live performance I've seen from TOOL. TOOL upped the bar at least 8 or 10 notches for this gig! The energy & raw emotion were unbelievable. Furthermore, some new stage set additions added some extra mind blowing properties! (i.e. hanging dissectional tapestries, trippy-ass back drop which appeared to be a 3D/hologram Eastern motif, giant mirror ball was reminiscent of Pulse by Pink Floyd and the "man/skull" video @ intermission). The set was great and opening with "Sober" was a pleasant surprise. Also, hearing "H" was a rare treat to say the least. The song highlight for me had to have been "Lateralus" which Maynard endearingly dedicated to Layne Stayley (RIP) also closed the gig out. In a tight running for second would be the "Disposition", "Reflection" and "Triad" 1-2-3 punch. In the end, the 10-minute standing ovation that they received cemented the fact that the rest of the crowd were as blown away as I was and also shared my enthusiasm and disbelief for this great performance. Thanks for the good 3rd Eye Squeegee TOOL!

I can't even begin to explain how amazed to hear that tool was going to be coming back to Boise after 5 long years. Just less then three months ago I saw the concert at the "E Center" in Utah. Nothing I thought could compare till last night. Meshuggah came out first to open up, and had a pretty energetic set. During it the lead singer reminding us that it was almost time for TOOL. Finally when TOOL did come out the first thing you were able to see was Danny Careys golden drum set. Then Adam, Justin, and of Course Maynard all came out and gave the phenomenal show that has ever come to Boise Idaho. EVER! The lights were awesome with the visual screen flashing Adams bizzar yet wonderful images on the screen. I guy on shrooms net to me said that this was the greatest thing he had ever seen in his life, and I cant say I don’t agree with him.

The way you people have been posting reviews, the band could have played one chord for an hour and you would still be impressed. I took my two younger brothers (14 and 16) and they really enjoyed it. lots of positive feelings being exchanged, with the exception of the idiot monkeys on the floor. quotes from that singer guy: "is this boise? *weak response from crowd* Clean the pig shit out of your ears. I would like to say that the same setlists night after night after night, and on different tours is really starting to get old. Did Tool forget how to play all their other songs or something? Or do they just not care anymore. Cause its gotta be one of those two things. I am actually starting to loose appriciation for the band cause of all this. Come on guys, dont you get bored playing the same think over and over? Its like watching the same episode of your favorite TV show 50 times. Even though you love it so much. It just gets really old.

Hiya. wow this was amazing. though it was very similar to the other 2 shows it still had its significance..but first off before i go on....FUCK IDAHO! i hope tool never goes back...i never want to go there again for a concert! there was a small handfull....SMALL handfull of kick ass people there and the only names i remember were Glenn and Luke...Glenn it was nice seeying you again, lol...you owe me a hummer dont forget! Ok so my friends Kurt and RJ and i get there at 1pm, eat shrooms at 130 and have a blast... We were right up front on the left side by Adam. during meshugaa we saw danny hanging out by the drums and justin over by us sitting down smoking a ciggerette....well he caught me staring at him for awhile and i waved to him and my friends looked over at him and he gave us the 'whats up' nod...holy shit it was kool. so even tho the setlist was...the same as the others he did at least do H. i seen it preformed with 4 degrees in vegas and wow...those 2 are in my top fave 5 tool songs :) i broke into tears when he did Disposition...thats my other song. that was the 3rd time i seen him preform it and wow it was soo much better than before... during stinkfist i had to get pulled out i was litterally feeling my little bones crack and i couldnt breathe...they were murdering me...so i was freaking out during the extended stinkfist lyrics....i totally didnt even hear it i was screaming so loud in pain and trying not to get trampled so i missed it and i lost my mind when i found that out. that was the main reason that show was so important to me cause i wanted to hear those lyrics, fucking assholes! after the show RJ came up to me and said 'did you hear it, he sang those lyrics for you' i am still kicking my ass!! =( but so for the rest of the nite i was still kinda close but kurt and i met up after we got pulled out of the crowd and we danced together for the rest of the show to every single song and it was amazing...nothing is as fun as dancing to tool. we did get to hear the sound check while we were shrooming and that was totally badass. but by the time tool came out my trip was completly gone. all in all the Tool show was badass only because it was Tool and because of the people i spent that experience with. I love tool more than anything. Maynard gaves us a great speech on how our brothers and sisters are fighting in a different way at that now more than ever...even though we had heard this before, to think for yourself....question authority....think for your self, think for yourself, think for yourself....question authority. Oct 12 i will see them for what i hope to fucking god isnt the last TooL show i ever see. p.s....FUCK IDAHO T O O L fucking rocks! *Shana*

It was just a complete sensory overload, damn near a spiritual experience. Whoever is directing and cordinating the lights and stage show is a fucking genius. they completly outdid themselves on this tour, it was super visually stimulating. setlist was: Sober The Grudge Stinkfist H Schism Parabol/Parabola Aenima Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus Maynard had a bunch of good shit to say there was a lot of improve and extended stuff. incredible show, life changing to say the least.

Schism Parabol Parabola Ænema --Intermission-- Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus The intro to sober had us fooled. It started as the classic merkaba into sober notes, but changed to the 2001 tours pre-grudge noise and then back into merkaba notes. The new visuals for the Grudge made this song one of the most stunning. Stinkfist had the Elvis and White lines. H. had an amazing visual of a snake-like thing consuming itself in a circle. AMAZING! Schism had some new visuals as well as the summer 2002 long extension in the song. Parabol had a strange intro and new visuals. Parabola- Floating Parabola video balls (seemed larger than summer 2002). Ænema- Maynard did the "Think for Yourself, Question Authority" speech, but Ive never seen it done to this song. (If only we could have seen Third Eye.) Ænema is always fantastic live, so enough said. The intermission had the summer 2002 "man/skull" only WAY more intense with more visuals and had a background of the floating vajras from the beginning of the real Parabol/Parabola music video. Disposition was decent; nothing new. Reflection was the best song of the night. It had new visuals of a praying mantis (its eye creates mathematical shapes, then it walks away) and the other trippy visuals from the summer 2002. Triad had visuals of the Salival "man" spinning to some indescribable yet familiar visuals. Maynard threw 3 or 4 water bottles, and Adam threw crumpeled up set lists. I stayed after the concert until 1:15 a.m. to try and get something autographed or meet TOOL. Failed. Some people of the TOOL family (I couldn't see) were lighting off fireworks outside the stadium. That was cool, since they are illegal in Boise. We walked around to a secret entrance to the busses and saw that one of them said "ROCK ON" in the window. Whether this was TOOL's bus or not, I don't know. Just a useless fact. It was an amazing experience nonetheless, and I hope Orem, UT will be just as amazing. Thanks for your time. -Ryan P.S. I audio recorded this concert. It is not amazing quality, but still a good remembrance of the concert. If anyone wants to purchase this audio or master it for me, feel free to e-mail me. Audios.

Setlist for Boise is already posted. Note to Shana from the messed up Seattle/Boise posting bug: Idaho may or may not suck, your opinion is your own, you're entitled to it. Don't state like that as fact without proof. Tool isn't intended to be a concert to get stoned to see, so flush your shrooms down the nearest er. Next order of business... The concert was absolutely stunning. I must admit that I did get caught up in the mosh pit during Aenima... chose a bad location to stand, I suppose. Meshuggah seemed like one of those mesh-of- noise bands to me, not my kinda of music, set the stage for Tool very well. The only real beefs I had were the 40 minute intermission between Meshuggah and Tool, and all the drugs... I, for one, don't appreciate someone drugged up on ecstacy feeling me up while stumbling through the crowd to the mosh pit. Those are the kind of people that evolution should take care of, it just doesn't because we're humans... anyway... I'll save that discussion for the opinion boards if they're ever back up. All in all, a great show as I would expect every Tool show (except the '98 one here in Boise) to be. --Fladjer

this is for fladjer to say that tool is not a concert to get stoned and go see seems to me to be a bit condescending of you. if you knew what tool was about i think you would have a different opinion. "prying open my third eye," means to induce a religious experience like the shamans of indonesia and inda. These shaman typically ingest psycilobae mushrooms because they feel it gets them closer to god, and, for all i know, they may be right. Also, h., which is my personal favorite, is about heroin. the "h." was the abbreviation for heroin in the late 70'5 through the 90's. if you really pay attention you will hear maynard speak of decisions, and the people who influenced those decisions. Who this song is about is unknown to me, but i am 100% certain that is the true meaning. Third, i would assume you notice the use of alex grey art and timothy leary references. alex grey's art is a reflection of the visions he has while entertaining LSD, read his philosophies and you will see. Timothy Leary was a doctor who studied the effects of hellucinogens on the body and mind. All i ask is that you become more informed, and maybe ease up. if people want to smoke some bud or eat any sort of naturally occuring fungus that is not your decision nor is it mine. you may not like it, and maybe i don't either, but you should know the whole story before you go on condemning those you may not truly understand. yours in tool ZTP

The show was amazing. Tool was the example of a perfect live performance while Messugah was the exact opposite. The effort Tool puts into these things is completely mind- boggling. Anyone who has never seen the monster created by this before should definitely try to if they get the chance. The way everything comes together (the lights, visuals, music, Maynard dancing, and the band playing) comes together to create an atmosphere of total ecstacy. It makes you want to kiss everyone. Which reminds me if Whitney from Evergreen reads this you better email me.

First things first, who gives a fuck about the setlist! Seriously, its fuckin TOOL! Every show that they do is gonna be bad ass! Fuck for all i care they could play the same song over and over and over again, and it would still be better than any concert i've ever seen before! But anyways, about the show now, IT WAS THE SHIT!!!! Every note was played perfectly by ADAM(who is very very sexy);DANNY; and JUSTIN. And of course where would TOOL be without MAYNARD!!! i think its safe to say that everyone in TOOL is a musical genius!!! and whoever put the visual show together (besides ADAM) is a damn genius to! im so lucky to have been able to see them twice in a row! and i think the show here in BOISE was even better than the one in SLC. i was suprised to see that they put so much effort into our show! and hopefully they'll be coming back before another 5 years! 5 years without a TOOL concert, thats just to damn long! Now for everyone who hasnt seen TOOL live...SEE THEM! its well worth the $35, and more!!! its a more than just a concert, its an EXPERIENCE! the feeling of being within feet of TOOL is like a natural high! its fuckin great! SO GO SEE THEM!!!!!!! even if you dont like TOOL, (which if you dont your fuckin crazy) the show itself is a whole other experience!!!

EDMONTON REVIEW The set list was much like most of the tour thus far except that Aenima came before their 10 min piss break/feedback/intermission (not to be confused with the song "Intermission"). Which I am glad for, cause hell I was insensory overload..."where's my Molson?" The visual candy was amazing although one skrim failed to fall. The music was hypnotizing. I was set in a trance-like state in which it was all I could do to stop myself vibrating long enough to sip my beer. Highlite was Aenima. Wow you almost see shockwaves flowing off the stage and penetrating minds and bodies. The sonic barrage of D/R/T with Thomas of Meshuggah is worth mentioning. half hour of draining percussive attack with Maynard on Bass? Perhaps guitar...some stockless stringed instrument. It was hard to see him at times with the paint and the fact he never left his rotating disc contraption upon yhe drum riser. Low point was some moron throwing his shoes onstage, Just reafirms that no matter how much chlorine you use there is still some piss in the gene pool. I read a luke-warm review in our local paper today by some music writer/hack. He obviously knows nothing of TOOL because at one point he said "and yes they played intolerance." Well, no they did not play this song. In fact I have sneaky suspicion he just copy/pasted an old review from this site adding some witty? aliented banter on a subject on which he knows little or nothing, To sum up.... this show was the highlite of my concert going life. And yes I have seen full-makeup KISS. TOOL defines what thinking-man's-music should be especially if you like your coffee crisp. 9.9 out of ten. Remember Narcissus thought he was a perfect ten and look what happened to him.

This was the second Tool show I have seen at the Idaho Center in Nampa and the two were like night and day. The first one was solid but marred by idiots beating the shit out of each other in the pit. There was still a bit of that going on, but a bit less thanks to the more restrained quality of the music. In any case, the show was amazing, better than anything else I've experienced. I was perfectly sober but felt as though I was on powerful hallucinogens. The music was so dense you could almost reach out and touch it and the show was a visual overload. It was almost like having pure adrenalin shot through your vains. The last time I saw them Maynard spent half the night yelling at the crowd for being idiots (which they were), but this time the band seemed to be feeding on the positive vibes from the crowd, and vice versa. It was a very spiritual experience, in an athiestic sort of way. Anyway, great times all around.

Well, there is no posting to do this for the Oct 7th show in Calgary, so I just wrote this as on the 3rd, hopefully this gets thru. Anyways, tonight's concert was a great dissapointment I believe for Canadian fans, The set list I think went like this: Sober The Grudge Stinkfist 46&2 Schism Parabol(a) Opiate Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus Now, last year, they came to Vancouver on Nov 7th, which makes it hard for most of the people on this side of the country to make it to a good concert, people flee from Alberta to come see tool in BC, while, this time they flee from BC to Alberta, to see less of what they saw last year. Last years set included: Pushit[live], The Grudge, The Patient, Schism, Parabol(a), Lateralus, Disposition, Reflection, Triad, 46&2, Stinkfist, Opiate and plus a song with Danny Lohner, and extra bits with Tricky during a lot of their songs, like, a 3 hour set, while this one barely seemed to scratch 2 hours, Must I say thom they come to get what? Sober instead of Pushit? Honestly it was truely dissapointing, it was a good concert, they didn't play to their fullest, it seemed like they were a bit rough tonight (as I usually can pick up one error I hear in a band) but I was mightly glad actually to hear maynard not go up an octave when singing "If I really don't feel a thing at all" during 'really don't' he just kept his voice regular and it made it a bit of a change? heh, I guess i'm trying to find good stuff bout this concert, but helll, if it were your first concert of tool's it would have been a great concert, oh well tho, it's just not really great when a band comes to Canada, and plays the exact same set a year later, you're sorta maybe expecting something different instead of wasting another $60 on a concert ticket. I rocked hard, but I totally wish they played a better set,

This is for the CALGARY SHOW. Vancouver is very far away from Alberta. Don't travel and bitch about the similar setlist. I thought it was so amazing! I was stunned which seemed to be the sentiment of everyone around me. Yes it was my first TOOL show but not my friends who say this one was much better than the others. TOOL was very into the songs and maynard faced the crowd dancing about. He stayed in his clothes the whole time. After the show, they threw all their junk into the crowd and danny took a bow and gave some big thumbs up to the very appreciative crowd and then the group hug and they walked off to a 10 minute standing ovation. They were dead on for every song and the setlist was great. I think we got a very pleasant surprise with opiate. Maynards voice sounded very fresh and the saddledome had great sound. You know its great when your ears arent ringing after the concert. Very crisp. The visual screens were a little small but thats alright. Setlist has already been posted.
