The setlist for laredo is as follows: sober the grudge stinkfist 46 and two schism opiate intermission disposition reflection triad lateralus i was disspointed with mesugah..every song sounded exactly the same and just made the crowd mosh Tool on the other hand was great, they played amazing and maynard sang great...too bad they didn't play third eye, i would have loved to see that one performed live..but i don't think we deserved it from the mosh pits that formed from tool...which was just stupid. other than that tool was excellent and was a expirence i will never forget

One word...HOLYSHIT. These guys will go down in history not only for being the 1st band to play at the Entertainment Center, but also for being the baddest ass moh-fuhs to do so. WOW WOW WOW WOW. I was having a great time, it being my first time at a concert on the floor level...'cept for when i was gettin crushed by the masses...but i'm a'ight. I liked the things Maynard said..."Tool, Laredo. Laredo, Tool." "Repeat after me...Think for yourself question authority...and I will not repeat what others say" and the whole "Jerk off into oblivion" or something like that speech, me and my friend Steve tried to get a "Manuela" chant goin but it didn't really catch on. They played a great set, it coulda been greater but then again people woulda fainted and got crushed by the crazy ass moshers. Meshuggah was allright for their first 2 songs, but after that they sounded all the same. Nonetheless, Thank you Maynard, Adam, Danny, and Justin for a great show and thanks for makin it a great one the day before my 17th birthday (it's right now, november 14th). Hope you guys took advantage of our crazy night life in Mexico. If not, feel free to drop by anytime you like and give us a great time. Peace out, Toolshed, and SPIRAL OUT...

ok this is the real set list.... intro sober the grudge (ions) stinkfist (elvis extension) 46&2 (would've rather heard fav. song H.) schism parabol parabola opiate -intermission- disposition reflection triad (ft. meshuggah) lateralus i got to the arena at 8:30 a.m. being the first one there...and i didnt get to hear H. geez, it's ok, i just hope next time. I really enjoyed the show. I left inspired, and this has been the best concert i have ever been to. Some of maynards comments were in some lines as this " laredo....tool, laredo, laredo, tool", "go home tonight, turn on ur fire place, throw ur television in there, and jack urself into obvilion, have a good masterbate ", and lots more. He had the black stripe down his face, hardly faced the crowd, but didnt get out of the black leather. There was this one roadie that pissed us off...we were walking around the arena, and this roadie with an ego that was on a cell phone tells the security " tell them to booger off " hey well FUCK YOU, YOU STUPID BITCH ! LOL! I'll leave you inspired...

Ohhh.....Myyy...gawd man. That is all I have to say right now. The show was amazing. I was anticipating the nite for too long and then....the time came...and the lights went out and messhuga came out to play. Hmm...about them. I really did not like their music, it all sounded the same to me and could not understand one damn word. But hey, if its what they like to do , then continue doing it guys. When it was time for them to leave the stage, a short break was in place, then smoke started coming out and the lights soon turned off. The screens and the ligths on stage went on and then there they were. At first I could not believe it, my jaw dropped and i was so happy, kind like a little boy openeing his damn presents from santa. Then....adam and justin started playing and sober was the first son. Damn, I got fuking chills when the song started. I could not believe i was in there in the same room they were. I was kinda dissapointed that Maynard gave his back towards the crowd most of the time, but i had expected that. Afterall, its all about the music. Also, I am kinda down that they did not play aenima, its one of the first songs that i was hooked to and it was the one that introduced me to tool. I have great memories from this show. The effects were all badass. I just hope they liked our crowd (damn people who moshed to tool, thats no music to mosh too!!!). And I hope they will come again soon. All in all, the show wa sthe fukin best there could ever be. i was ledt in awe and I have been inspired. peace out. (set list was: sober The grudge Ions Stinkfist 46 & 2 Schizm Opiate Intermission Disposition Reflecton Triad (joined by messhuga bandmebers) Lateralus ) Laredo greatly welcomes you anytime Maynard, Danny, Adam, and Justin. Thanks guys you fukin rock.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Both bands were amazing. They played their souls, they shared their spirit with us. Messhuggah was better than I expected, and the corwd received them really really well. Unfortunately, they got the idiots in the crowd so full of adrenaline (not a good mix with alcohol) that they would never stop moshing and sodomizing others throughout the tool performance. ***WARNING: SELF INDULGENT, OFFENSIVE RANT AHEAD*** I was disappointed with outcome of the crowd. The venue caould hold ten thousand people...there were probably less than 5,000. The people in the seats seemed very sedated. But then again, the floor was inhabited by rude drunken jerks who moshed.....during the fucking intermission. They almost ruined my experience. I was in the side were the moshpit always formed, and it's not a pleasant feeling having to constantly look over your own safety while you're about to connect with the band on a higher level. But if you were one of the assholes in the moshpit, then disregard my comments. They're all mindless, hippie bullshit. But please, remember, playing some KoRn and Staind records at fulll volume in the sanctity of your own home (while being heavily intoxicated) will get you as pumped up as you want to. And right there, you can act as stupid and animal-like as you want without being rude and disrespectful to the people that want to at least enjoy a show without being kicked in the jaw by 14 year old little kids. PLease, do not ruin the experience for others. Do you not realize you're acting like beasts? Crowd surfing and moshing during the intermission, during parabol, during disposition/reflection. If you so desperately want to act like morons then just record one of your attempts at imitating the guys in "Jackass". Setting yourself on fire would be more appreciated than Oh and if you're one of the 4 or 5 little kids, the ones who were around 12-14 years old and were the ones who started the pit all the time and crowd surfed like idiots, then I have a suggestion. Ask yourself, why the fuck would you spend 40 dollars to go act like morons? Why not just do that at the pep rally? That'd probably impress little Sally Bucktooth more than knowing you're spending your parents money to go see a band you had no idea existed. And the saddest thing is, you don't even realize that the band was telling you to fuck off. Had you been a little more receptive and you'd feel the vibe that emanated from the band. Oh, and when Maynard gave us the non comformist oath/republican detector, you're supposed to at least get the irony. No one fucking got it. Opiate was the perfect song to reflect the kind of people that were constantly screaming intellectual commenst such as: "YOU GUYS FUCCCCKING RAAWWWWKKK....YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! "SHOW US YOUR TITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Deaf, blind, dumb....born and destined to follow others. And you do not even realize that it was especially dedicated to you. But you probably though it was KiCkAzZ (DuUuUdE) cause jesus sucks and shit. Just watch the new episode of friends next time Tool comes (yeah, like they're ever coming back). ****IT'S SAFE TO READ AGAIN**** *SETLIST* 1)sober (new intro) 2)the grudge 3)-ions+stinkfist(extended) 4)46+2 5)schism (new intro) 6)*an instrumentla jam, lasted about 5 minutes* 7)parabol 8)parabola 9)Non comformist "pledge" aslo known as the "Republican detector" Opiate (with Timothy Leary's excerpt from "How to Operate your Brain" --Intermission-- 10)Disposition 11)Triad 12)Lateralus (with an instrumental jam at the beginning) Now on to the show: They opened with the usual little intro they give us. Kind of like drone effects, and a new intro to Sober. Well not new (they've been playing it like this for the whole tour), but different than in the album. It was intense as always, and the people started pushing like crazy. Next up was The Grudge, during which, Maynard held out his scream a lot longer than last time in Houston. It was eclectycal as ever, an incredible eye opening performance of the song. Maynard addressed the crowd for the first time during -Ions, he said "Laredo. Tool. Laredo Tool. Tool Laredo". Of course everyone respended with the usual fuck yeahs and you rule and shit. Stinkfist came up, and in retrospective, I thought the fact that one of the moshers got stepped on during it was fucking hilarious. I shouldn't feel that way. But I do. Of course the crowd did not 46+2 only reiterated my feeling that the band did not appreciate the morons in the crowd. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing song, and I feel amazed that I could experience it again. But unfortunately, they play H. instead of 46+2 when they feel more comfortable. I shouldn't be comparing, but I am. When schsim came up, was when I started getting constantly disconnected from my state of of trance. A crowd sufer hit me in the shoulder. The pit got a lot more moronic at this point. they threw two girls into the pit, they were crushed and left crying. They were forced in. Pitiful. Amazing performance of the song, Maynard played guitar during the new intro. Afterwards, a really cool instrumental jam was performed by all members of the band except Maynard who was just standing there. It sounded really great, and it blended in with parabol/parabola in a seamless way. When the pit was still going at it during Parabol, I realized that finding peace would be a very difficult (but not futile) task. Of course, the drunked idiots got loose with Parabola. The transiotion between Parabol-Parabola was a lot longer than in the album, it built a lot more momentum. The metatron's cubes came down and hovered one over Maynard, the other one above Danny. After Parabola, maynard addressed the crowd for the second time: "Since it's our fist time in Laredo, we'd like to try something with you. We wanna share the Pledge of the non- comformist, also known as the Republican detector" Of course, everyone and their moms fell for it. And I doubt anyone got it. Right after it, when Opiate was about to start, Maynard said "think for yourself" one more time. An excerpt from Timothy Leary's "How to Operate your Brain" video was played during the song, the band right before the last time the song goes into the "if you want to.." part. It's the same one that can be heard in Third Eye in the Salival version, the exact same one. They really chose wisely this song. No other song , not even Ćnima could be more fitting for this crowd. By the way, the artwork and backdrops during all of these songs consisted of Alex Grey's "Interbeing" as a backdrop, and the two screens which complemented the band's music perfectly. And Maynard had a thick black stripe all over his face. The Intermission, as unusual/sad it might sound, is when things started getting ugly, violence wise. The security guards came in cause the mosh pit was getting out of hand. During the inter-fucking-mission. A fat tall guy with too many margaritas in his horse like stomach was constantly trying to get calm people into the pit. When the band came back and played the first notes of Disposition, the seven pointed yantra was already in the background, behind Danny. And the other main Alex Grey backdrop was already set too. Collective Vision it's called. Reflection came next. Before halfway through the song, 7 of Alex Grey's pieces of the Sacred mirrors came down and hung in front of the COllective Vision backdrop. It was either 6 or 7. Adam held the last guitar riff for a long time while the roadies set up the drums for Messuggah's drummer. The song was once again, the highlight of the night (besides Lateralus). It was tribal......truly ethereal. Maynard made some jokes about Messhuggah and then told us all to jack off. The usual positive message, but ten he said "...or at the very least we've made you extremely horny. Go sit in your fireplace, unplug your TV, sit on the floor and jack off yourself into oblivion". No one saw beyond the joking side of that comment. Have a good masturbation. Afterwards, he said "Godbye". I didn't think they'd leave with no Lateralus, no matter how much the crowd sucked. They didn't, they played a little instrumentl jam, wiith Maynard on guitar. Then Lateralus came up. The perfect closing to any of their shows.Truly the song I connected with the most. Afterwads, the band hugged in group, and threw out some water bottles and some drum things...also some of Danny's sticks. And Maynard didn't leave immediately. When the lights came up and everyone was already leaving, there was distorted voice playing "get the fuck out. Go hoe" endlessly. All in all, this show was every bit as good or even better than the one in Houston last July. The crowd was definitely worse. tast times I get floor ickets. All in all, my spirit drove my body. No matter how much boots hit me in the face, it all came down to the union and connection of the band and us. Thank you Meshuggah, thank you Tool. You resusscitated the hopeless.

Tool made their first (and hopefully not last) visit to the "Gateway City"...Laredo, Texas. Their show was the very first music concert at the brand new Laredo Entertainment Center. I am still in disbelief that Tool was here in my hometown! Anyway...on to the show itself: Tool started the show by playing Sober, which got the crowd roaring. After Sober, Maynard (who had a black stripe painted from the top of his head down the center of his face) introduced the band to the city by saying "Laredo...Tool...Tool...Laredo." The crowd just went wild. Hearing Maynard's voice actually say the name of my hometown was just unbelievable! They played a setlist that included The Grudge, Schism, Stinkfist, Forty-Six and Two, Parbol/Parabola, Disposition, Reflection, Triad, and Lateralis. The lights and visuals on the screens were so perfectly matched to every beat of glorious music. During Danny's drumming feature, the band was joined by two of Meshuggah's members for an outstanding musical display. Tool was mesmerizing, with their drawn out musical interludes in their songs. There is so much to absorb watching them live. Tool is musicianship at its finest!!! I love them, and I will never tire of them. Thank you Tool for gracing our Laredo stage.

Tool for me it's like the heroin for Renton (trainspotting) "Take the best orgasm you ever had, multiply it by a thousand and you're still nowhere near it. ". It was a great show tonight, The nearest Tool show I've ever been, I live in Mexico so all the other shows I have to drive from 8 to 14 hours to see them, yesterday i only drive 2 hours. I was expecting for third eye, it's the only one fron aenema I've never see alive, but they play opiate. I really like at the end of the show the way that adam see the crowd and clap us. I hope I can see TOOL once again in my life.

Just wanted to say that Tool never lets me down and that the shows just keep getting better and better. However I do have a couple of problems with some of these reviewers. Who ever it was that posted that first set list nedds to pick up a Tool CD and read the names of the songs, I have no idea where you got 4 Degrees or Third Eye from, did you even go to the show. And also who ever posted that long as hell review needs to stop worring about everyone else and sit back and enjoy the show. If you did not like all the chaos then all you had to do was move the hell back, dumbass. Or you could have done what the rest of us true Tool fans were doing and not let it effect our expirence. Anyways sorry to RAMBLE but I'm tired of hearing what was wrong with the show when the truth is that it was one of the best expirences of my life. Oh and by the way I will always get floor tickets.

This was my review for some other site, but it was all complicated with email and stuff, it's a more detailed review than my previous post, so here we go...\ The day started off for me at 8:30 a.m. making me the first one there. around morning time, i was on the side of the arena looking at the roadies back the trucks up and start unloading. Around 10 a.m. we went to the front to stay in line...Around 3 p.m. we decided to walk around the whole arena because our spot was saved first in line by the people that were in back of us. We came across a white tent with a bunch of food ( I'm figuring for the band and roadies). There was an opening which we could hear the vocals were being sound checked. We asked the security if we could stick around a bit to hear them sound check, he was cool about it and said yeah, just stay behind the rail or whatever. There was a roadie there on his cell phone, when he saw us he gave us a hand gesture to leave, so the security told us to get off the rail, haha, so we stood around for about a minute more or so, and then that damn roadie told the security " tell them to booger off" fuckin asshole. So we told the roadie " Sorry for interupting your life " (sarcastically). He mumbled something but we didnt care what that nobody had to say. So we went back to the front, all in all, the time came and we entered...we went thru a pat down search, which wasnt comfortable, my friend started making noises like " whooaa yeah " haha. Meshuggah came on, they were okay. When Meshuggah came off, we saw someone familiar on stage, it was that damn roadie that gave us shit, we started telling him off ( "HEY REMEMBER ME STUPID BITCH?") So Tool then came on...Here is the set list... intro sober the grudge (ions) stinkfist (ext.) 46&2 (wouldve rather heard fav. song H.) schism parabol/parabola opiate (timothy leary - think for yourself) --intermission-- disposition reflection triad (ft. Meshuggah) lateralus Some comments Maynard said were something around these lines... " Laredo...Laredo, Tool, Tool, Laredo " , "Go home, turn on ur fireplace, throw your television in there, jerk urself into oblivion, have a good masterbate " ...I'll leave you inspired...

Hi Ive been reading some of the rants that people have posted about how much the crowds going to see Tool concerts lately have sucked, and in some ways i can agree. I highly doubt many of the meatheads in the crowd have any idea what the songs area about. Now...me personally, when i was younger i did enjoy moshing greatly at concerts, but lately, im not really into it. Not my thing really. But, there are still plenty of people that do like it, and i respect that, if thats what they want to do, thats fine. GA seating is where moshing is going to occur, and if i dont want to mosh i simply go where people arent moshing. It seems that people who rant about their views on the crowd, cant be pleased. This is what ive been reading over the past 6 months. People who mosh are assholes in their minds, people who simply stand and listen to the music and mind there own business are assholes because they arent physically showing thier love for the band, the people who do scream and yell for their love of Tool are assholes because they whine too much and should shut up, and last but not least the people in the seats are assholes because obviously they dont like the band as much cause they are sitting and just chilling instead of standing. Where can the line be drawn? What do you ranters want? Dont get me wrong, it bothers me occasionally seeing people sitting, moshers hitting people who dont want to be hit, but people cmon, just chill, or at least pick one style of concertgoing and bash it, dont bash everybody! Sometimes when i hear people say Tool fans think they are smarter then they think....are right an observant fan keep rocking Tool, you guys are great

The show was a great show to begin with. Yes a couple of people got out of hand and all but we all did when great songs like stinkfist and sober played. I was disapointed when the crowd was just standing their when meshuggah was playing. A fire started in one of the locker rooms inside the arena, but nobody was hurt. Before, I go my little brother wanted apologize to the people in the pitt who got hurt with his arm cast. later.......

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. so many things have been said about this band and how they've helped people find themselves and begin living for the first time. i've met maynard when he was touring with A Perfect Circle and i feel a close relationship with the band and their feelings toward the music they create. they are untouchable and uncompareable with any old or modern bands and have left a deep impression on everyone. i went to this concert with my 48 year old dad and he pissed his pants. this goes to show that their music can and does transcend time. their performance i love to say was not perfect, how could it be when flaws and mistakes make life interesting? you find monotony in perfection and i hope that in the following years, tool will continue to evolve and envelope the ideals they've come to spread. tool is everchanging, just like the world we live in. good luck in the future my friends and brothers...

Here is the official setlist. I should know...I have it :) Sober The Grudge Stinkfist 46&2 Schism Parabola Opiate Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus I must say that I was surprised to see them kick off with Sober...plus they played Opiate. I was a bit disappointed that Ćnima was not played, but hearing Opiate was worth it. One of the guys from Messugah joined Danny and the boys for Triad (one of my favorite tracks off Lateralus) and it was just amazing. The Timothy Leary quotations was a nice touch to the whole environment. The show in itself was beyond words. I made it throughout the whole show at the front and besides having this huge- over the hill-bodybuilding-neanderthal elbowing me for half the concert, I had an amazing time. Just watching Adam somberly playing all night AND now having a pick of his in my possession makes me feel like the luckiest woman in the world. Im glad the members of Tool decided to play in such a close-minded town like Laredo. Though it may be a cold day in hell before they show themselves this far down south again, I'm glad they came to show Laredoans what real music sounds like. helica ex
