A Review of the Fall 1996 Tour

Date: November 5

From: Josh Nadler (nadler@ucsu.Colorado.EDU) Kabir, I was looking at the Toolshed (as recommended by a friend), specifically the FAQ. There was the question on who was "jimmy". You gave us the hint to read the liner notes slowly, well, I didn't read the info section slowly at first, but I did read the little story bit carefully, and no help. Well, I started to read the info section a bit more carefully and it took me about 2 seconds to notice Maynard JAMES Keenan, funny how Jimmy is a nickname for James, eh? Kind of confirms those guesses that he was abused by his stepfather as a child. Well, anyways, great site. I was looking at the tour reviews and thought I could help. I was at the Denver show on 11/5/96, and I happened to remember the setlist order. Below is that setlist, and the "Review" I sent to the friend that recommended the Toolshed site. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- - The show was totally completely awesome. Possibly the best show I've ever seen. They played: 1. Third Eye (yes, all of it) 2. Stinkfist 3. Forty-Six & 2 4. Prison Sex 5. Eulogy 6. jimmy (the sequel to Prison Sex) 7. Cold and Ugly 8. Pushit 9. Guitar & Drum Solo 10. Sober 11. Opiate Encore: 12. AEnema Maynard was painted blue, and behind the band they had video/computer animation. Some of the animation was animals having sex, human torture, and various other weird things to get you thinking. The background video was soooo incredibly awesome. For Prison Sex and Sober, they had the parts of the actual (MTV) video in the back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have a nice day, Josh Nadler }|-)>
