A Review of the Fall 1996 Tour

Date: November 29

From: opiate@generation.net Well, it's one night after the TOOL concert, and I'm sorry I don't have a review for you to post. Just a few notes on the Montreal Concert... Yes, he was painted Blue and White, with a red dot on his forhead. The bassist was painted white, the guitarist was painted blue. He introduced his bassist as being "Belgian", as opposed to whatever he really is. They played Prison Sex cause the video casued a lot of controvesy in Canada (MUCHmusic) They opened with Third Eye They played a real long version of Sober He did the "Just say Yes" bit (My personal opinion is that he'll retire when he finally finds a crowd that won't follow his commands like sheep) Maynard said "montreal" just to test the microphone. He asked us "Did you miss us?" Added some new spoken word to "Prison Sex" Psychotica opened, and the lead singer was wearing a full lycra body suit (white), but we weren't as rude as the Vancouver crowd. Real full house, They changed the venue to accomodate the extra people. I didn't pay much attention to the line up, cause I was more interested in what was going on then detailing it to report here, though they did do an encore with Aenima. Songs I can remember in no particular order: Third Eye, Stinkfist, Eulogy, Prison Sex, Sober, Cold and Ugly, Pushit, Aenima, Opiate, Fourty Six and 2, and maybe more but I just can't fucking remember. He seemed to like talking about how Canada had given them a hard time with Prison Sex. Everyone was drinking water except the bassist who was drinking Molson Dry beer. :) Alright, i'm stretching now, hope these vague memories of an amazing concert come in handy somewhere. Excuse spelling, cause I'm hammered right now. Though even tonight at the bar a few people came up to me and asked me if I was at the show and we chatted, one guy actually met the band afterwards. Seeya, great page, g'night. Rob.
