Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. First and foremost i would like to thank tool for coming to such a small venue and giving the people of this area exactly what they needed. I have attended a few concerts in Huntington only to be dissapointed by the crowd of angry rednecks beating each other in a circle rather than moshing. Tool put on such an amazing show that it kept everyone calm. Thier were looks of awe and understanding on the faces around me instead of anger. Tomahawk gave a good effort but were not received well after a few redneck jokes that i believe offended the crowd. They did however kick ass when mike and the drummer joined tool on stage for what seemed like an eternity of beautiful music. This is my second show on this tour and I have to say it just keeps getting better. Thanxs again to all who attended and especially to tool for such and awesome show.

Tool was great tonight. Danny, as always, was flawless. Anyway, Tomahawak was much much much better than most people say they are. Why was I the only person laughing at his jokes? I guess all the everclear-drinking, yankee-dick sucking hillbillies took offense to Mikes jokes. And all the inbred degenerates in the crowd just proved his point by throwing shit at the band. I, for one loved tomahawk and laughed hysterically at the jokes. I'm not saying everyone there was a hillbilly, because there were true fans there and you can spot them a mile away in a crowd like that. But for the most part, it was people who never get out of the tri- state area and were looking for a new place to go get drunk and start a mosh pit. I'm sure any TRUE fan will agree with me. Anyway, as always, TOOL came through and put on a great show. The "sacred mirrors" tapestries were great and I really liked how the giant, hanging, unicursal hexagram went so well with the big backdrop.

Show was ok, I've seen em do a hell of a lot better though. For some reason I got the feeling Maynard didnt really give a shit about the redneck dumbfuck audience though. I have to agree with David there were a lot of stupid FUK redneck cocks who probably didnt even know who TooL was just thought it was another place to get drunk and start moshin. But overall a pretty good show. Maynard didnt say much, didnt really do anything special either but if I was playin in Huntington I wouldnt care either. Sorry bout the negative post but I thought the audience ruined it for the REAL TooL fans who just wanted to watch the show. LIVE LONG MAYNARD.

Looks like I'm the first. The setlist... Sober The Grudge Stinkfist - extended without extra verse H. - beautiful, the crowd was finsihed singing i don't mind before maynard started it. hilarious Schism - with the new intro Parabola - about the first 10 seconds of parabol Aenima intermission - (not the song) they switched the lights on and what sounded like an alarm went off. then they dimmed and brightened the lights for about 10 minutes, fucked with everyone. Disposition Reflection Triad - nice jam session with the guys from Tomahawk, surprisingly the crowd ate this song up. Lateralus Tomahawk was the shit man. People seemed to enjoy them till Mike went off about how West Virginia was the most fucked up hillbilly place on Earth. He had to have gone off on the crowd for a good 5, 10 minutes, mimicking dueling banjos and doing everything possible to get a reaction. So Tomahawk got a lot of middle fingers but a lot of applause too so it was cool. God damn, that's the only word to ever describe Tool. I like the new setup with the backdrop instead of the screens behind the stage. The constant Alex Grey artwork was a very nice touch. Maynard didn't face the crowd once or talk at all tonight. After the grudge he said good evening, but as soon as he opened his mouth the crowd went fucking nuts. Before Lateralus Maynard thanked us for sharing the experience with them and the crowd cut him off with cheering so they started the song. After the show the band got the biggest standing ovation I've ever seen, they seemed to be appreciative but I think we pissed Maynard off. So... on behalf of everyone in West Virginia I want to apologize if the crowd seemed overexcited or rude to Tool, nobody ever comes here so when we get a good show it's like a gift from God itself. So Tool, know that we love you and we would love to see you again. Terry

Interesting to see how well TOOL can pacify a large group of rednecks. I'll add that the extended/altered version of stinkfist was incredible. Also, disposition/reflection/triad all being in one pile, just as the cd, was perfect. My only dissapointment with the show was that I didn't hear third eye damnit

==================== Review with thoughts Friday Morning, 2:20some am ==================== Well where to begin, we'll get right to it. The party of 3 felt like we were in grade school sitting on the floor b4 the show, well Tomahawk played their set, it wasnt bad, i liked it, and i believe two or three others did, but the rest of the crowd gave so much dislike towards them. They played 6 to 7 songs off of their CD, but when Mike Patton goes off on his rants, thats where it gets ugly, not all WVirginians are not hillbillies, if you are, it was a joke so ya shouldnt of gotten pissed, and then he ripped on this girl, junk about her not getting laid cause she looked pissed, funny, and then Danny came out and added roto toms to a song while Adam was in the wings, it sounded nice. They cut their set early cause of the crowd, not bad for 28+ mins Anyways, to the main part of the concert, TOOL's set list goes like this: intro/sober ( good as a opener ) the grudge ( very powerful ) stinkfist ( with the extended part in the middle the crowd didnt know what hit them ) H. ( nothing to say but amazing ) Aenima ( played early in the set, good crowd release ) Parabola ( No Parabol, but a bit of a intro ) ------------------------ intermission ( lights, sounds, and trippy visuals ) ------------------------ Disposition ( very calming ) Reflection ( building towards something strong ) Triad ( exciting, hard different verison then the CD w/ John S. and Mike P. from Tomahawk played on it, which they got cheers from the crowd ) *closing message (thank you "blah") Lateralus ( great sounding song, the crowd loved it ) *hugs and gifts to the crowd The the show sounded great, there was something a good bit of the people noticed, Maynard had his back to the crowd the whole set, a number of things could of caused it: -being mean to tomahawk -shy of being "the band with the man" aka ticketmater.com main page -a zit who knows, but if you check, TOOL last showing in WV was on 07.20 Charleston, WV Shenadoah Downs, this is kinda a shaft(y) way of comming back and showing "love"... but to so some it all up: ( 1 to 10 scale ) -sitting on floor waiting, 8 the first time, 3 the second -Tomahawk - 6 to low 7 ( dissin the chick, priceless ) - TOOL - sounding, visuals of the band 10+ maynard toned backside, not necessary Alex Gray's Artwork used through out the whole set, a must see mosh pits during low points or no music at all, dumb - driving home, low on gas, IDEA!, throw car in netural, coast down a hill, it slips into reverse goin 75, car sideways, recover, laugh about it - very priceless My singer got a waterbottle Danny threw out, it will be idolized thats about it now 3:11am, to future concert goers, enjoy the show, no loose change, and dont pissed the opening band.

Mike Patton is my hero. Tomahawk was truely amazing, unfortunately most of the Huntington crowd didn't understand what was going on. MJK has spent too much time with Rober Fripp or something- - the no spot light, ignore the audience persona pushes the music/other band members to the forefront. Which is exactly what I was hoping for, Danny Carey is the man. The combo of Stanier and Carey with Patton on Triad made my pants VERY tight. I went to see Tomahawk, but stayed for Tool. Thanks to Danny, I wasn't disappointed. For what it's worth, thanks for coming to West Virginia.

The show was great, tomahawk...they did a better job last year. The singer made some funny jokes but needs to quit clucking like a damn chicken. the music they play is pretty good but are in desparate need of some other type of singing...clucking or whatever. TOOL simply the greatest show ever. The music is enough within itself the visuals just make it an even more captivating experience. The setlist was pretty good, although i wanted to hear something from opiate. oh well. The music had so much energy and force just amazing. Maynard had his back turned to the crowd the whole time, also had a blue stripe painted on his head, that made the music seem even angrier. It was a great show defiantly worth the 3 hour drive from wheeling to see TOOL.

August 8th, 2002 JD AND I MADE THE SHORT DRIVE DOWN FROM COLUMBUS IN 2 1/2 HRS LAST NIGHT. I HAD SEEN THE SHOW JUST 24 DAYS EARLIER IN INGLEWOOD, CA. AT THE FORUM. I FOUND OUT THE PLACE IN WV. ONLY SEATED 8,000 PEOPLE SO I KNEW IT WOULD BE ONE OF MY ONLY CHANCES TO SEE THEM IN A SMALL VENUE AGAIN. I ASKED A SECURITY PERSON OUTSIDE HOW MANY TIX WERE PRESOLD AND THEY SAID OVER 5,000. WE PARTIED AT A RESTAURANT AND THEN PARTIED SOME MORE IN A HOLIDAY INN ROOM DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE HUNTINGTON CIVIC ARENA. I WALKED BEHIND THE VENUE AROUND 430PM AND HEARD THEM SOUNDCHECKING WITH STINKFIST AND SOBER. IT WAS SO LOUD YOU COULD HEAR THE DRUMS SHAKING THE BUILDING OUTSIDE. WE MADE IT INSIDE AND SAT DOWN AT THE EXACT TIME THEY TURNED THE LIGHTS OFF FOR TOMAHAWK. MIKE PATTON RULES. HE SAID A FEW TYPICAL THINGS ABOUT WV. (REDNECKS, HILLBILLIES ETC.) THE BAND WAS TIGHT AND ENTERTAINING. I THOUGHT THEY WERE WELL RECEIVED BY THE CROWD. DANNY CAME OUT AND JOINED THEM ON ROTO- TOMS FOR ONE TUNE LATE IN THEIR SET. 845PM TOOL STARTS. SOBER THE GRUDGE STINKFIST H. PARABOLA SCHISM ANEMA ------------- RELFECTION DISPOSITION TRIAD LATERALUS MJK DID NOT SAY MUCH AT ALL. AFTER STINKFIST HE SAID "GOOD EVENING". THE VIDEOS WEREN'T AS GRAPHIC AS IN LA. H. WAS WORTH THE DRIVE DOWN THERE. I REALLY THOUGHT THE BEST SONG OF THE NIGHT WAS ANEMA. I COULD SEE THE DELIGHT ON THE FACES OF THE CROWD. MANY HANDS IN THE AIR ON PARABOLA TOO! ALL IN ALL, THE FIRST SET WAS A LOT SHORTER THAN MOST OF THE SETS THEY'VE BEEN PLAYING. WE WALKED TO THE BACK OF THE ARENA AND WATCHED THE 2ND SET. AMAZING DISPLY OF EYEBALLS PAINTED ON THE BACKDROP. VIDEO SCREENS LOOKED MUCH BETTER FROM AT THE BACK OF HALL. GREAT SHOW FOR HUNTINGTON, WV. MY HATS OFF TO THE PROMOTER AND THE PEOPLE OF WV FOR SUPPORTING THIS GREAT BAND. SEE YA IN CINCY 8/31, KB

First off...Heres the set list. Sober The Grudge Stinkfist, (Great extended versionl...) MJK:Good evening... H. Schism (Maynard had a guitar) Parabola (Without Parabol intro, Sadly) Aenima (Crowd loved it) --Intermission-- Dispostion (MJK has a guitar) Reflection (MJK has a guitar) Triad (MJK has a guitar) The drummer from Tom. helps Danny with drums Lateralus...Yes, when we all heard it, we knew that the night was over If you want to read about tool, go down to the next paragragh. This part is about Tomahawk. Ok, first off, i was axious to see them because i downloaded their cd, and i really liked it. Well.. the rest of the crowd didnt think that. They threw change, whatever they could find at the Mike p. They were all being assholes, booing then, chanting "you suck" ect. But i didnt feel for them when he called us the "Redneck capitol of the world" LOL...well The were good though besides all that, they came out dressed as cops (Yes...i dont know either) MP has some w eird dance moves, Overall they were pretty good. Now, on to Tool. Ok, tomahawk came on a 7:30 on the dot and was done at about 8:00 to 8:10, then at about an eternity of waiting, tool finally came on at 8:40... First danny came out and then Justin and Adam, They were all leaning over, hiding their faces at first. The lights were also dimmed. Then you say a shadow in the back and the lights went off and of course it was maynard. He was wearing black leather pants and jacket. While danny was wearing shorts and no shirt, i think. While justin and adam were wearing black and black. Adam was at the left of the stage and Junstin was at the right. Danny was on the back behing justin. Maynard was in the back also by danny. He had his back to the us the whole time...He half turned around a couple times but, we never got to really see his face, he had a stripe panted from the back of his head to the front. The lighting and artwork was amazing, im not going to go into detail because there was so much, there was also to HUGE screens on each side of the stage that showed the videos and other artwork. The highlight songs of the night were probably (LOL...this is hard to pick) Stinkfist, Aenima, Lateralus, Reflection, Sober. Im dissapointed that they didnt play anything from opiate i was hoping they would play part of me or opiate. But the rest of the songs made up. The crowd was really good throughout the whole show, LOL i was suprised at that. Damnit, Maynard said something at the end of the show but i didnt get to hear him, BLEH! oh well... overall it was a great show. Hoping they will come back again in the fall...Cant wait to see them again

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. Listen up TOOL freaks. Meynard isn't a god and is just another clown. He sits in the back of the stage because its about the music - blah blah if it's about the music plu in a stereo and let 20,000 people listen to that. I'm want to see the band rock to their music. If it about the visual - beat it go to a museum. If it's about the other members of the band then maybe they should do something other then picking their nose. TOOL like to think that they don't sell out and don't market. The fact that they don't use marketing is marketing. They consider themselves not mainstream and enjoy their relative innocence? Get real your a rock band. My point is this Meynard start realising what got you here. When you were crazy and rocking out to No quater in Toronto (wharehouse) you put on a decent show - now you are just going through the motions. If this is your last tour why not play fewer venues so your team doesn't get burned out. See you in Ottawa and Hamilton Canadian Kid

Incredible show. Mike Patton was a cock-ass. Too many Redneck jokes. Tools visuals on the stage and on the screens were phenominal. The band members never moved all night. Maynard stood at the rear left of the stage and sang to the backdrop for the duration. He spoke twice....once to say goodevening......and another time to say thanks for coming out and sharng this experice with them. The setlist....which noone has gotten correct yet was something like this.... (note: Eon Blue and (-)Ions were both played....but I cant remember at what point they were) intro/sober the grudge stinkfist H. Aenima Parabola ( No Parabol, but a 10 second or so intro ) ------------------------ intermission ------------------------ Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus I had a great time.....they didnt dissaponit.....and I cant wait to see them again In Cincy on the 31st. 46 & Tool....are just ahead of me!

Last nights show was once again another TOOL experience that leaves one talking about it for months later. I would definately get rid of Tomahawk not only because they are insulting and lack luster but because Mike Patton is a one hit wonder and a bad one at that (remember it's because of him that we have rap rock ie: Limp Biskit). Towards the end of the show an all out jam session took place that was kick ass solid for about for about 15-20 min. To sum it all up in a nutshell catch the tour when it's close and sit back and enjoy the ride.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

Overall, it was a pretty good (but not phenominal) show. Tomahawk lacks talent and tried to overcome its shortcomings by making crude references to West Virginians -- all done just to see it the band could get a rise out of the audience. The only "rises" were the middle fingers of many of those in the audience who didn't come to see Patton's sorry ass in the first place. If I were getting booed off every stage I appeared on (trust me, not only in Huntington), I'd focus more on improving my music/stage act and less on pissing off audiences. The bottom line: Patton is less of a comedian that he is an artist, and that's not saying much. The fine people of Huntington deserved a better band that Tomahawk, and Patton is a rude, insensitive, no-talent "useful idiot." As expected, Tool was exceptional. Although the acoustics in the civic center are not the best, the music sounded pretty good. The setlist was fine, but hearing 46&2 would have been nice. Maynard seemed to be into the show for the most part, but I couldn't help thinking that the band's attitude was "this is West Virginia, so we don't have to be at our best." Contrary to what is written above, the audience was not comprised only of rednecks. In fact, the freaks outnumbered the rednecks by at least 10:1. Too, by looking at the license plates in the vehicles in the parking garage, most of the so-called "rednecks" and "hillbillies" were from Kentucky and Ohio, not West Virginia. There are many Tool fans who believe that those unlike themselves are somehow not "worthy" of seeing the band, and that their interpretations of the band's music are the only ones that are legitimate. They are the "true" fans, and to hell with everyone else. This is total bullshit, and Maynard would agree with my assessment. Many of you self- annointed "real" fans are nothing but insecure losers who chose to live vicariously through Maynard rather than forge your own lives. By the way, West Virginia has many intelligent people who love and respect Tool's music. I hope that the band remembers this and puts just a little more effort into its next trip to the state. Spiral out!!!!

stupid faggots that take their girlfriends down onto the floor need to realize that they are going to get pushed around and surrounded by other people. if you don't like that, then go sit your sorry ass up in the seats. other than pissing off stupid rednecks and their ugly girlfriends, the show was extremely delicious. TOOL never plays any garbage or junk like that, and to me this show was the best I've seen. the intermission followed by disposition/reflection/triad was my highlight of the evening. whoever runs the civic center is fucking stupid...no smokes allowed inside! I think that was so the rednecks that worked there could have an endless supply to give to their kids. and it had only one exit for the floor so it took 1/2hr to leave that shithole.

a big thank you to both bands for making the trek to WV. it is much appreciated. i enjoyed everything about the show. they both put on a great performance, although not their best. however, im extremely satisfied with what i got for my 35 bucks. it is nice to drive to a show in less then an hours time, NOT have to get a hotel, and NOT spend 40 bucks in gas to see one of your favorite bands. i saw the tour last year, and all i wanted from them was to hear H. , not 46&2. well, i got it. I also got the delight in seeing the amazing mike patton, john stanier, kevin rutmanis, and duane dennison perform. these guys are incredible. if you got offended by mike patton's jokes, it is probably because what he said applied to you. im from West Virginia, but i knew it was a joke, a generalization. for me to get offended would be ridiculous. mike patton doesnt know me, and isnt speaking to me directly. he is just getting the audience riled up, be it postively or negatively. im sure he gets a kick out of being able to get everyone's panties in a bunch. he's no idiot, he knows what he is doing, and he succeeds. you dont like his music, good for you. you've got yourself an opinion, but it isnt garbage. it is just something you dont understand or like. maybe you cant see the musicality of it, the brilliance, or the effort these guys put into playing, BUT your heroes in Tool can. they obviously appreciate this guy's work to bring him out on tour with them twice. give it a chance. once again, tool was amazing. danny carey, justin chancellor, adam jones and mjk are a few of the best musicians in the world ever. i thank you for the records you put out, and giving WV'ians an opportunity to see your live show. the bands music means alot to so many. we look foward to you returning.

Let me say one thing right off the bat. Iam in the upper level of tool fans that knows everything there is to know about the band, buys every overpriced t-shirt, every poster from overseas, and checks these websites everyday for updates. So imagine my suprise when I saw that tool (still the best rock band in the entire world) had decided to come to West Virginia. My little group of three waited and got our tickets as soon as they went on sale. We went to numerous concerts throughout the time waiting for the tool show...but continually stated that these shows were no where near as good as the tool show was going to be. We drove anxioously 360 miles to the show...waited in line for too long..and took our sunglasses back to the car (per tools request?) When we got to the floor the security made everyone sit down, (have you ever heard of that before?) Then when tomahawk came out it was obvious that the mood was already set..as Mike patton tore into the crowd because they weren't being well recieved. Maybe tool should take note that fantomas didn't go over last year..and tomahawk (an extended version of fantomas) isn't going over this year either. I'm sick of big name bands taking out no name junk openers and then not understanding why they aren't being applauded. Maynard decided to turn his back to the crowd the whole time? I'm not good enough for you to turn around and look at? I'll bet you and mike patton will have no poroblem spending my 40 dollars it cost me to get in to look at your back. The next tool show I consider going to see will definately be questioned. For someone (maynard) who doesn't buy into the whoe "rockstar" image, this was definately the most rock star move I've seen out of him. Don't get me wrong they sounded amazing, but so do their cd's and I don't have to drive 360 miles and get up the next morning for my regular everyday job to stare at Maynard's back and be tired taking care of sick little kids in the peds unit of our local hospital. So kabir, or anyone who knows maynard personnaly and sees this post...if they actually read these....let him know that it was the most disappointing thing in a long time.

The Huntington Civic Center is terrible. The sound wasn't very good and security was ridiculous. There were signs everywhere stating what couldn't be brought into the building. No cellphone, lighters, smokes, etc. - pretty stupid. But then they didn't even search me when I went in. Tomahawk was pretty good. They pissed off a lot of people but I thought they were pretty funny. He asked one girl in the crowd if she had ever had "yankee dick". Tool was great. The visuals were incredible. I don't know if a lot of people will agree with me, but I thought it was kind of insulting for MJK to turn his back on the crowd. He never turned around. I feel that I have a special relationship with Tool - unlike any other band. I know every lyric to every song, own everything they've put out, and have read pretty much everything about them. They play for almost 2 hours and the lead singer never turns around. What's up with that? I know he's done it before and he'll do it again. But why? Trying to prove a point? Piss somebody off? Don't want to be there? Maybe just want the audience to focus on the visuals? People (not me) were waiting to get into the building 8 hours before the doors opened to get into the front row. Maynard never came within 30 feet of the crowd. Kind of insulting. Oh well, just my 2 cents.

Tomahawk was fucking amazing. and the floor didn't stay calm because of those inbred fucks trying to mosh to no music and low points(the intermission) they didn't stay calm whatsoever and they shouldn't have even been allowed to buy tickets. I wanted to enjoy this experience to the fullest as I have been a TOOL fan for quite a few years, but they damn near ruined it. They only wanted in because there was beer there and had they known that tool aren't exactly "good christian boys" they porbably wouldn't have come and would have done some stupid shit like boycot(baaaaa! baaaa!) I thought it was funny that maynard had his back to the crowd, I wasn't there to see his face, I was there to listen to their music, that is what this is all about, THE MUSIC, not the people making it and how "hot" they are.

Incredible mind expanding experience. great visuals alex grey artwork: phenominal. i was on the floor about 4 rows back. all i have to say is all the redneck fucks need to stay home, they rushed the stage and were moshing. oh yeah and the real reason maynard had his back turned the whole time was because some dumbasses with cameras flashing right in his face as soon as he stepped out. at one point he tried to turn around but it happend again so we all had to stare at hhis ass the whole time. ok enough bitching. overall incredible

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

I won't waste my breath or effort on the set list, since everyone else has already posted it. All I'd like to say is that Tool was great, just as I expected. Tomahawk was decent but not wonderful, and not well-received by the crowd due to the redneck jokes. But, that's okay. What everyone who's posted so far has failed to mention is the reason that Tomahawk quit early was because of head problems with the guitar. Mid-performance, the guitarist quit, began playing with his amp, then a technician came out, looked at it, and wheeled it off. Other than that, Tomahawk DID play about 30 seconds of Sober, with Mike Patton singing some of it, to appease us. I think that's worthy of mention, as well. Anyway, great show, wonderful experience.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

This was my first Tool show and I was NOT let down, by Tool anyway. Didn't get to see Tomahawk as we returned to the car to put our cigs away. I really don't see the point of telling people they can't bring in smokes, and if someone is going to make a rule like that they should let you know before you stand in line for 30 minutes. From what I hear, Tomahawk damn near started a riot so I am glad we stopped for a beer before heading back to the arena. Tool's music kicked my ass, it's that simple. The artwork and set were so amazing. I will never see Tool from the floor again, I want to be able to focus on everything next time. The Alex Grey work was inpspirational, the flickering neon overhead tripped me out, and I just wish I could have absorbed it all but I was on the floor and it was overwhelming at times. I guess Maynard wasn't really into the show, yeah he kept his backed turned while I am sure that pissed a lot of people off, I'm not gay so I wasn't there to stare at him. Great to hear Sober, really set the mood for the casual fans and sometimes thats important. Stinkfist kicked ass, Maynard fucked with the crowd and delayed some singing, it was funny. Triad was fucking unreal, I was so high on the music and drumming, only the second time I have ever felt that way at a show, and the first time was at the Who back in '89. For that alone, I want to personally thank Tool. Danny was surreal. I have always respected Tool as muscians, but he has got to be the best live drummer today. The sound wasn't great, kinda muddy but that is the Civic Arena for you. The bass was freaky, at one point I was taking a drag (had to smuggle in a few) and I could actually feel the smoke vibrate in my lungs. Freaked me out, and something I won't soon forget. Too many assholes in the crowd, they are useless and should have been executed. Some drunk ass rednecks started to mosh right behind me, I knocked one down and so did my girlfriend, they kinda kept their distance then. Things to bitch about aside, it was a fucking great show. Maynard, please don't get the wrong impression of WV from some of the idiots at the show, you and the band have some real fans in WV and I hope you return one day. Again, thanks for the very positive experience, the show and the effects changed the way I think about live music.

This was this reviewer's 2nd Tool show

As we entered the civic arena, I could hear Tomahawk playing Jockstrap, My group of six went through the lame security, and some of them entered the beer lines. I made one last bathroom break and made my way to our seats and told them to meet me there. I was the only one interested in seeing tomahawk due to Mike Patton and Helmet's Drummer. They put on a good show, but everyone was there to see Tool. After some tuning and setup, Tool entered the stage and opened with some noise and then started into Sober with the fans screaming very loudly. You have seen the setlist by now I'm sure. At times the crowd seemed mesmerized by the band. The moshing seemed to stop, and everyone was focused on the music. Why did Maynard have his back turned, I really don't care, I was there to hear trhe music. From my seat I had an excellent view of Danny, Justin and Adam. I could barely see Maynard for Danny's drums. The band put on an excellent show, I just wished they would have played 46 & 2. Danney Carey is an amazing Drummer!!! Tool - Don't think that all of West Virginians are a bunch of Redneck Pricks. I have been a fan since I picked up Opiate at Davidson's Music in Huntington around '92 as a Marshall Student. Your true fans understand you. Great show.

This was this reviewer's 1st? Tool show

Hey guys, _WOW_ Amazing show. I arrived a bit late, so I missed the Tomahawk set. Heard good and bad, but i'm not gonna pass judgement. The main show, on the other hand... When Stinkfist exploded, the crowd went nuts, then calmed down, and finally vibed for the rest of the performance. Aside from a few primitive moshers, the atmosphere was perfect: Maynard was smooth as silk as was the entire band. not a single note was missed or mutilated. The lighting and art was awe-inspiring. It was more of a spiritual experience than a rock concert. It was hard enough to believe that Tool was coming to Huntington, but the fact that they came and performed so flawlessly made it a true gift to the larger family of man here in WV. We truly appreciate their visit here, and would really like to apologise for the behavior of some of the attendees there. Who the hell moshes and crowd-surfs at a Tool concert, anyway? Maybe, if there's a next time (truly hope so), they will book Charleston's Civic Center. It's a bit bigger.
