The setlist: Sober Grudge Stinkfist (modified) H Schism (modified into?) Parabol Parabola Opiate -- intermission with bass feedback -- Disposition Reflection Triad (with Mike Patton and John(?) from Tomahawk) Lateralus A little history ... I seen Tool at Madison last year. It was one of the first shows on their first arena US after lateralus. I listened to all of the raves about Tool's live performances and built up gigantic expectations. They fell short (IMHO of course). The arena was horrible - narc's everywhere - cops everywhere. Granted, I wasn't doing anything illegal, it just set a horrible tone for the evening. Messugah was not my vibe - loud, horrible, obnoxious distortion and screaming. For Tool: The bass was way too loud and distorted everything in the first half of the show; Adam seemed to be having an off night. In the end, I felt kind of let down. I felt the power of what could have been an amazing performance, but it just evaded me. Maybe it was my high expectations ... Fast-forward to tonight. Tomahawk was certainly interesting. Watching Mike Patton flail around on stage was fun, and I liked their set overall. Then Tool. 1,000,000 times better than last years show in Madison. Unbelievable. Amazing. Without a doubt, THE BEST show I have EVER seen! And I've seen quite a few concerts. Maynard was having noticable problems tonight, but was still overall good. I'm guessing he was the sick one for the cancelled Normal, IL show. I'm glad he's sticking it out for the rest of the tourr. Adam and Justin were excellent. Of course Danny was ... man, how to say it? He's got to be the best drummer alive. I won't spoil any of the stage props, but I will say they were great! I liked the Tree of Life at the end of Reflection - very nice touch. Triad left my jaw on the floor. I have a mp3 track for the version of Stinkfist they did at the Coachella Festival (10-10-99) - this is how they played it tonight. Tonights show was a live, inspired act. Last tour I seen a show that sounded almost exactly like the studio albums. I also read a lot of reviews from people wishing there was more of a 'live' feel to it. They definately came through this time! It felt like art in the making, not art as it was in the studio. I hope this makes sense. My mind is still trying to recover from the spectacle I witnessed tonight. The guys in Tool are amazing. I'll see them every single chance I can.

Setlist: Sober The Grudge Stinkfist (extended) H. Schism (extended) Parabol Parabola Opiate --Intermission-- Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus I missed the last four songs, but got to hear them while loitering outside the venue. I was kicked out for punching some guy with glasses in the face, and knocking his glasses on the floor. they were likely trampled, and it's a damn good thing too. That piece of shit was kicking me and doing ungodly things to me. I couldn't stand it anymore. I punched the guy and didn't look back. With the exception of having to wait outside for the last half of the concert, it was still good before that. Getting to see certain expressions on the faces of band members is what it's all about. Furthermore, Tool has the most sorry excuse for a fanbase in the history of mankind. Not only was Tomahawk booed like it was going out of style, but Tomahawk was actually good. the crowd was throwing coins, bottles, cans, whatever at the band. Losers. In addition to that, the amount of physical abuse i had to sustain to be at the front up at the barricade was ridiculous. Fans who mosh to songs like Parabol should be killed. Also, I'm afraid I have to mention this again, but please, do not sing along at concerts. I didn't pay fifty dollars to hear Joe Six-pack yell the words to Sober in my ear. On top of that, please read lyric sheets. If you don't know the words, then don't sing them either. If I were Tool, I would be ashamed every single time I had to go out there on stage after Tomahawk. No wonder they don't do all of the schmoozing stuff. They know that 95 per cent of their fanbase has a room temperature IQ.

Well, I won't post the set list cause the other people got it right. Tomahawk... was funny at best. And downright stupid at the worst. Though their exactly the type of band I would expect Tool to tour with. I don't know if it's because I've read so many of the reviews on here that said "tool totally blew me away" or what, but I came in expecting to see the best show of my life. I didn't. The visuals were certainly awesome, and during the slower moments (Dispostion comes to mind) I stared mezmerized at the screens. But the sound wasn't the best... I think the volume was a bit too high. It sounded tinny and distorted. But that's not the band's fault. It was still obvious that I had witnessed some of the best musicianship around today. Highlights: Parabol/Parabola was the most energetic song of the night, Lateralus was the perfect closer. Opiate was also a nice treat but Aenema would have been better. Triad kept building and building until I couldn't take it anymore. Maybe because it lasted damn near forever. Lowlights: Those drunken ass clowns near stage right, all with their shirts off. They sucked. And everyone rushing the stage when "Sober" started. I know it's a rock concert and everyone wants to get close, but that was nuts... Other than that the crowd was alright for the most part. To suggest that there shouldn't be any moshing at a rock concert, particularly one with an agressive sound, is obscene. Music is meant to be experienced, and "getting into" it at a concert is a way to experience and to let loose. If you don't like that, sit in the seats, or go "experience" it at home. Overall: B- I'd go see them again, but only on a different tour.

Amazing as usual. Felt sorry for Tomahawk - they were boo'ed pretty badly. On to TOOL.... We sat at the back-center of the arena to see the show head-on for a change & even though the players were small, it was awesome to watch the big picture from there. The sound was EXCELLENT, the lights & effects INCREDIBLE!!! I wish I could describe it - but I can't.... you really had to be there to understand...

Well I went to the Chicago show on Thursday, and even though the setlist was the same I thought this show was better. I'm guessing that because the venue was smaller this is the reason for the sound quality to be much better. At the United Center it seemed like the singing was overpowered by the musical instruments. Moving on, just a few minor differences.....Maynard didn't strip to his speedos, and also was a little more chatty with the crowd.....but just a little. It's really cool just watching the band so into their performance. If anybody is thinking of going but hasn't quite made up their mind......GO SEE TOOL...they are awesome. I saw them in '98 in Las Vegas, "99 in Coachella, and twice on this tour. Let me tell you just when you think they can't get any better live, they go and top themselves. The stage setup is just awesome, and so are the videos and images which go in perfect sync with the music. Words can't describe how much they put into their live performences. On a side note only one thing ruined the evening for me. Halfway through the Disposition/'Reflection/Triad set some guy walked up to me and upset me the rest of the night. He tapped me to get my attention and asked who I was at the show with. After telling him he then asked if I knew who the lead singer of Tool was and I responded with an obvious yeah....Maynard. Then he asked if I wanted to meet Maynard after the show. Knowing better I said no because...well come on I'm not that stupid to say yes and then end up being robbed or rapped or something like that;. Nevertheless, even though I knew better now I had it in my head how neat it would be just to meet him and thank him for all the inspiring and beautiful music he makes. Oh well I ended up leaving after the show and came home.....the end. P.S. AS I SAID EARLIER IN MY REVIEW GO SEE TOOL. I KNOW I WILL AGAIN IN OCTOBER WHEN THEY COME TO INDIANA......IT'S WELL WORTH IT!!!!!!!!! PEACE OUT

Wow.......It just gets better and better every time....Tomahawk was wicked....I fail to see why people have such a big problem with them....because they called you all cheeseheads and made fun of the Packers? get a thicker skin people. I also have a few gripes with some of the people who chose to buy tickets tonight, but the good outweighs their actions....all I have to say is......when Tool is playing....do not have loud discussions about how you think punk rock died out in 1990, and certainly do not try to make said discussion louder than the music going on around you....anyways.....the setlist flowed well.....Maynard reminded us that Sept. 11th is coming and that instead of lining up like cattle to 'remember' what happened on that ill- orchestrated day....we'd do better service to open our hearts and minds and think for ourselves a bit.....I can live with that advice. I was definitely enjoying the lighting bouncing off the crowd on the sides of the arena.....made for weird moving textures....anyways.....see you all in Moline

Just got home, and it keeps on getting more and more interesting. I found myself wandering around the downtown area thinking about different aspects of the show. Also reflecting on what Maynard said about taking what we saw tonight and doing something positive. I felt like the show was a continuation of what I saw last year in Madison. Almost like a sequel if you will. I sat in the seats center of the stage, so I could see (sort of) the band, all the lights, and the screens. Like always the show was an attack on the senses. I will include the performance of Tomahawk in that statement. I loved everything they did, I am a huge fan of Mike patton and respect the projects he involves himself in. I found it humerous yet odd that everyone around me would listen to them, and boo because they did not like the "noise", but when tool gave us nearly ten mintues of uninterupted soundcscapes to swim in, the audience was practically wetting themselves for more. Enough of that though, I like alot of people who see this band feel like we are being taken to a special place when I see tool. Even though I am surrounded by thousands of people, tool makes the concert seem intimate and unique for all those who come and "spend some time" with them. As corny as it sounds you feel like it is family event, with you and five to seven thousand of your closest brothers and sisters. I have never seen a tool show where I have not come away inspired to do something artistic, and this show was no exception either. Thank you for the show, the art, and the muse.

Usual comments, words cant explain so why even try? However, the setlists aren’t changing much this tour so maybe they’ve found a way to fit it all together with the best possible result or whatever but im wondering when Eulogy, Pushit, Prison Sex and Intolerance - maybe even some earlier stuff - will be appearing. They’re leaving out so many favorites and I think that soon they’d have to be getting tired of playing Schism and Parabol/a and other Lateralus songs that have been played at every show since Lateralus came out and thats a shitload of times those songs have been played. Maybe they’ll even open with Third Eye…? Wouldn’t that make our collective heads explode.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. Maynard's my illegitimate brother... Very sardonic and masterful. Maynard tweeked a few here and there; but hey! It's Maynard and I got over it immediately. Bass drowned out Maynard's voice for most of the show, but it still was an equestrian event that all Tool fans must see. Triad, with members of Tomahawk, was like a building orgasm. It built, built and built until climax that left you with the euphoria feeling like of having sex in a car crash. Maynard just missed getting his groin grabbed by a member of Tomahawk after Triad. Setlist was on and who really cares if they are printed. If you don't want to see the 'list, then don't be looking for it. Danny was tight: dead on all night. Too bad: I, along with the other nearly 7,500 rats sang. What the hell are you suppose to do? Sing to yourself? Moshing was killer as usual. If you don't like singing and moshpits, then go to Nsync, because you were out of your element here. Maynard eloquently spoke of "question authority and think for yourself." Maynard profusely thanked the crowd for their support. Maynard, donned a black stripe down the middle of his face and head, stood at the screen of demonic abyss with his back turned to the crowd most of the night. I wished the lights would have come on Maynard and he would have faced the crowd. Third one was the best by far. And, as usual, Maynard and the boys hugged and praised each other at the end. Must see!!!

well...after a 3 hour drive from wausau, it was nice to sit and chill at a friends house for a couple hours, drinks and smoke all around...then we got to the show, and as im going through the nearly non-existant pat down, my disposable camera and pipe fall out of my drawers and down the leg of my pants....five or so minutes later, after said pipe and camera are safely stashed in the bushes outside, lackluster search repeated, i decided to grab a beer {as i wouldnt be smoking} this pretty much killed tomahawk but somewhere over the boos i think i heard point and click and pop 1...im sorry mike, not everyone in wisconsin is a drunk brainless hick with no musical taste....after the intermission, sober kicked in just as i was getting my beer...i was totally shocked..as always the drunk, screaming morons made it that much more enjoyable....wink, wink....after the grudge, there was an extended stinkfist version with some beautiful guitar work, followed by a {-} ions interlude, then another joyous surprise...H. towards the middle, i moved to the floor for a better view of the players...schism gave way to a simply amazing parabol/parobola version..right into opiate...another pleasant surprise...maynard said a bit about a certain tragedy, whose aniversary is coming up and how we can truly respect those lost by, instead of standing up like sheep, we should "think for yourself....question authority"....{curtain close...intermission}.... after the short break they went into disposition reflection triad...totally breathtaking...mike patton and the drummer from tomahawk guested, maynard played that funny lil un- guitar a few times...but the showstopper, lateralus was awe- inspiring...maynard gave his use this energy in a positive way speech, and the screen work, which was amazing throughout, was especially good for lateralus...lots of sacred geometrry...show ended with a group hug and tossing of water bottles, drmsticks and heads, and the setlist... notes and observations: maynard remained fully clothed {perhaps he feared drunk moron backlash?} maynard sporting a mowhawk and playing his funny un-guitar seven pointed stat light scaffold, very nice touch...gigantic {-} ion machine...alex grey tapestries were beautiful, as were black baloon clusters...thank you all...good to see you again, joe...sorry i missed you, david..i have so much to tell you...see yall out there... evolution did not end with us growing thumbs--b.hicks

Tool hasn't played milwaukee in a really long time so i was really looking forward to this concert. The set list has already been posted so i wont waste my time typing. I thought the set list was great, kinda wanted to hear 4 degrees though. the sound was good, i think he bass was alittle to loud but, what are you gonna do. As for the band justin was great, danny....um sorry cant think of a word to describe his ability, adam was incredible but i think he had a little technical difficulty at the begining of triad maynard was also incredible even though he couldn't hit some of the higher notes from being sick, his long scream during the grudge was insane. Maynard was also a little more talkative thatn usual, after one song he said beer and cheese and is this milwaukee?, he also said a little bit about spt. 11 and then did the think for yourself, question authority thing. He aslo made some jokes about tomahawk after triad, i cant remember exactly what he said but it dealt with a chinese resturant/auto parts store in alaska. Then right before laterlaus he gave his do something positive speech and then he said, but in the meantime get naked, find a partner, grab a pole , and fill a hole. Tool is the best band i have ever seen live, they are incredible musicians and deserve everything the have if you havn't seen tool live go see them you wont be disapointed.

All the setlists above are correct. So I won't waste my time writing about those. Tomahawk rocked! Way better then I Expected, anyone who has the balls to go on stage with a deer with a mic, molests his throat to get new sounds, and sings thro a gas mask, earns points. They now have a fan, and I will be picking up their album once I get to a record store. Alot of people booed Tomahawk and told them to get off stage. Tomahawk did get alot of boos from people un-willing to try something new, but, Mike Patton did prod at the crowd with comments about Packers etc, guess he just wanted to get a rise out of ya'll, and he did. Tool rocked as always. Visual, emotionaly, spiritually refreshing. I was able to work out all my agression, and be physically drained by the first beak, then came the intermission and the build up and reflection, and that is what a tool conert is about. Triad freaking rocked, and all you Tomahawk nay sayers should eat your words, since the drummer and lead singer (Mike Patton) were up there helping tool. Overall the crowd was pretty good, alot of people just trying to push you out of the way. They received a bunch of elbows in their packs, atleast make the attempt to walk sideways and slip thro, or if not, say excuse me. I'm trying to enjoy a show, don't be a dick. Maynard was very animated this time, made me feel like I wasn't going to miss anything at the GB show. One important thing he did say was "A very important aniversary is comming (yells) 9/11 (yells, who cheered for that?), in memory of the people who lost their lives, we should open our hearts, open our minds, we should not be blind sheep and follow and lose our rights, we should think for yourself, and questions authority, think for yourself, question autheority," The quote isn't 100%, but I think I got the jist of it all. Then he continued on with opiate. At the end of the conert, they all got together like the usualy did, but maynard was on Justins back. They threw out their setlist, and water bottles and drum skins. But then Adam, Justin and Danny stayed out with the crowd for a few minutes, almost thanking us for our energies. It was wonderful, good to see peope not be rockstars, and just artists. I will go see Tool again on the 3rd lag of the LAteralius tour. I will see you then. Thank you Tool and Tomahawk for taking me on this journay, allowing me to spend time with you.

OK, first and formosy I have to say to those of you who lamed out on Tomahawk you should be ashamed you all acting like a bunch of motherfucking crybabies. It's not everyday that you get to see that much music history on stage the members of that band are all vterans of the music world and deserve a lot more respect than that. Even if you don't like a band it is wrong to disrespect their art like that (even if you are drunk) For all the epople who were yelling "I didn't pay $50 to see this sH*t" well I hate to inform you but....yes you did and you might as well trey to enjoy it for what it is worth instead of being fussy little crybaby. I love TOOL and I always will but I honestly felt shame for being part of that crowd at points. I also want to mention how sad it was when two of the boys from Tomahawk (mike & John) came out with TOOL everyone thought it was great just after they boooed and threw stuf at them.....all I can say to that grow up, think foryourself, and learn to take things objectivly. I really have nothing to say about TOOL they were great, they are always great but the crowd always leaves me a little salty. To those of you who showed love to Tomahawk rock on way to be supportive, to those of you who booo....boo hoo hoo jokes on you , you don't even know what you witnessed. Oh and for the record I am not a raging Tomahawk fan but I appreicate a meaningful performance. 30,000 of beautiful tradition from moses to Sandy Cofax your God Damn right I'm livin in the past. The band members of TooL are masterminds, geniuses, leaders... To describe this concert in a word, I would have to say "....", because indeed there is nothing that can describe the vibe and feeling that came accross you... This was quite an experience, one I, and any soul there, will never forget... Although this is my first TooL concert, I know that this was quite a show, a hell of a show... I started off in front row, hanging onto the rail for dear life...bones crushing, muscles bruising, appendages dismantling...but while audience members were 'pushin and shovin' me, i was struggling to not only grip that rail for the sake of living, but to show my gratitude to the band by giving the occasional scream with my fist in the air... Highlights of the night were of course, Opiate, Parabol- Parabola, Schism-w/ Maynard on guitar, and the best part of the whole show - Disposition/Reflection/Triad combo closing out with the ever spectacular Lateralus.... All in all, anyone in their right mind w/ the ability of getting a ticket and getting to a concert should go....no doubt about it....

this was my frist tool show and will definitly not be my last. I'm still in awe of everything i heard and saw. Maynard was wearing a police shirt, badge and all, but was wearing black bondage pants(i think). He painted a black stripe from the back of his head down to his face. The setlist was pretty much the same as the other shows, they moved some songs around but nothing totally different. They closed with lateralus and then had a group hug and seemed very thankful and respectful for the deafening roar of the crowd. ive been to alot of concerts but ive never heard a crowd as loud as last night. Anyone whos contemplating wether or not to go see any of the remaining shows heres my advice. Go, you wont regret it. the most amazing live show ive ever seen in my life.

Well, another Tool show, and another great performance by the band. Tomahawk deserved to be treated better, especially by fans of one of the most open minded ensembles in the world. Booing is one thing if the band is terrible, but not having a sense of humor when Mike says "You wanted them, you got them, the hottest band in the world .... TOMAHAWK" is a blatant display of ignorance. So yeah, Patton pokes fun. Get over it. The band has more talent in it's feces than most acts that are available to us. Get off the radio and get out to see what's happening apart from the nu metal garbage you're fed daily ......... Tool. Well, I can honestly say this wasn't one of my favorite performances by Maynard. It sounded like he was still recovering and is in all likelihood exhausted. There were things I was looking for him to pull of that I had seen before, and he didn't. It seemed obvious that his voice was tired. It cracked a couple of times, something I had never experienced before with him. He's still the creme de la creme. But the set list is filled with, well, alot of filler. I love all the new long, mellow tunes, but is there a need for a long intermission before them? All the complaints I hear are that the show gets tedious, and I can see it. I love them, and will go see them every time they are close enough, but you really do find yourself wishing for more songs and less noisy interludes or new intros. The beginning of this tour they were doing tunes like Flood and 4 Degrees. I think that Maynard needs a break, really. The poor guy is pro, but with all he's been doing the pipes will eventually need to be soothed. Maybe the new fall tour they'll be all rested and healthy, but I felt the end of tour vibe ...... Bitching aside, what was good about this show? Well, H, Parabola, Triad and Lateralus rocked pretty hard. The visuals were great, sound was alternately good and bad, and per usual the band smoked. I really had a chance to hear Justin play, and as a bassist that's nice. We get cheesed alot in the sound. So yes, better than your average band, average for the best band in the world. :)

This was this reviewer's 3rd Tool show

All in all this was a great show. Most of the reviews posted here so far are pretty right on. Therefor I'll won't bore with details but will just post a few opinions... We arrived late and only caught maybe three songs from Tomahawk. Being a huge Faith No More/Mr. Bungle and Jesus Lizard fan I was really looking forward to them. I had just picked up the disc a few days earlier so I was primed to be rocked. And I probably would have if we had 1) seen the whole set and 2) didn't have to put up with all the immature booing. Knowing Milwaukee I didn't really expect people to take to them but for crying out loud, show some decency and respect. The same people would of gone apeshit if Patton and the bunch would of broken into FNM's song "Epic". Fucking closed minded sheep, aren't you at a Tool show??? Get a clue. Now, on to Tool. Due to the fact that I'm getting too old to be pushed around in a crowded enviroment we sat up in seats straight across from the center of the stage. Though the guys were small, the visuals were spectacular. Our seats in the back were perfect. Besides, Tool isn't exactly the most physically energenic band live and I think they know that. Therefore they give us something else to accompany the music. Almost too much. After the show my fiance and I were discussing what we had just seen and both of us came up with at least one event that the other had missed because we were focused on something else in the show at the time. However, I'd much rather have too much instead of not enough. This kind of aural and visual stimulation is second to none. In fact, I don't know if there is a better band than Tool around today. Sure there are musicians out there that are technically better than them but the pure art of Tool is something that will have to be reckoned with for decades to come. There were certain times during certain songs that I received a warm, tingling feeling throughout my body that made me feel as if the guys were escorting me to another dimension. There hasn't been a band in quite some time that has had that kind of effect on me and I doubt there will be another anytime soon. As stated before in a couple of posts Maynard made a comment on taking something from the show and creating something possitive with it (he said this last year at the Madison, WI show too and it still hits me). I'd have to say that after seeing them, every time I've felt inspired and motivated to produce something of that nature. It instills a feeling of creativity like no other (well, at least for me it does) and I'd like to urge everyone to take from that. Go see Tool... or whatever moves you... open your eyes, ears and minds to something that could change you and the world around you and do something with that energy to perpetuate it. Oh yeah, don't boo the opener either. There are others there that would like to enjoy them. Take care everyone, Lee Milwaukee, WI

I was one of the unfortunates with Normal tickets, so when the opportunity arose to attend the Milwaukee show, I called into work, said I'm taking a vacation day and on Sunday it was off to the show. I'm so glad I went. For the first time I got there early enough to hear sound check, which was pretty cool. Tomahawk was great live. I don't know what everyones problem is about this band. I really enjoyed their set. I thought Mikes comments were extremely entertaining. I've said it before, I'll say it again. Shut up with your disrespectful boos. No one wants to hear your negativity. Listen to MJK about being positive and TAKE IT TO HEART. As someone mentioned earlier, the setlist was pretty much the same as the Chicago show, which I also was at. I thought the show was excellent as usual. MJK's voice was definitely showing the wear of the 4th night in a row, but that is still better than just about any other singer you might see. Danny, Adam and Justin were their usual outstanding selves. I enjoyed MJK's comments, which were the most I've heard him talk since the Riviera show, and I also enjoyed the intimacy of the show. The Milwaukee arena is probably the smallest venue I've seen them in other than the Riviera show. Even though the setlist is shorter, I like how they're doing it right now. Opiate is a great high to end on before the break, and coming back in with the more laid back Disposition/Reflection then building to the intensity of Triad then the great positive energy of Lateralus is pure genius in my book. I look forward to seeing Tool again in October. On a personal note, thanks once again to Mario, for letting me crash into your group. I wouldn't have gone if it weren't for your generosity in offering me a ticket and a ride. I had a lot of fun, and it was great going to a Tool show with you guys.

After seeing them in Chicago I just had to make the hour and a half trek to Milwaukee to do it again... I even jetted from a family party to see one of my favorite bands...Sorry Mom... Anyways Like Chicago , I skipped Tomahawk. dont much like seeing bands that I don't know too much about...People said they sucked, but when the drummer played with Tool... Maybe some people will have second thoughts... Actually I lied, and watched about 15 minutes and went back in the beer line. Tool came on about the same time as Chicago, so I wasn't stuck waiting for them. I had nose-bleed tickets for that show, and I was excited that I could stand so close to the stage for a change. I stood to the right, in full view of the band. I payed more attention to them instead of the visuals, cause I saw them three days prior. Although, I just saw the show, and the songs were the same, I had a better time, singing and watching. The songs were a little different, example. Stinkfist in Chicago had some of the extra lyrics, Milwaukee, negitive. The way MJK held notes in some songs, Parabol and Parabola, was different but nice. I liked that he talked more between some songs, as in CHI, he didnt say much. And the way he jirated and moved was a little more animated this time around. But the highlight of my night, as right before Triad ended, I was going to leave but instead decided to venture closer to the stage. I found a spot oh, about 5 feet from the stage, and to the right...Close enough to see what Maynard was actually wearing, A Police Uniform, and not a leather jumpsuit as some have mentioned. The black stripe was cool too. I caught Lateralus standing there, and almost caught a water bottle...but the fact that I got to see one of my favorite bands that close was a treat in itself. I hope they add Chicago to the end of this tour in October.. and maybe add a few songs... Well worth the drive anywhere in the US

Hey, overall, this was a kickass show. Only a fe problems...1) they did not play aenima, prison sex or 46 and 2. 2)Tomahawk is the worst band i have seen in my life. It would be one thing if they were opening up for like Marilyn Manson, but this is fucking TOOL for god's sake, tool should have jesus christ opening up for them. 3)Maynard never moved, i know he's sick and all, but its still a disappointment. Wonderful show though...if you're thinking about going to any other show on this tour, BUY THE TICKET NOW!!! they're probably all sold out though......KICK ASSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, I can say my opinion on the show is probably going to be slightly altered because I scavenged the floor for a drumstick and came up with it. That obviously made my five hour drive worth it. I was suprised by the crowd near the front not much pushing, but I didn't get closer until after intermission. Good to see people actualy listening to the music. Overall a great show, but all five I've been to are of the lateralus tour. The visuals definately changed and awesome since my last show.

Apparently some people thought Tomahawk put on a good show. I do not belong in that camp. Their vocalist seemed to have troubles carrying a tune, his voice squeeked quite a few times, and intentional or not, it sounded like monkey fecies. Their guitarist screwed up(I hope it wasn't written that way) a few times. True, there were a few things here and there that were good. The growling, though incoherient, at least had some emotion in it. Maybe he was venting the frustration the crowd was generating. Everyone's allready stated the obvious, so I'll skip to the Maynard-isms. When the drummer from Tomahawk(fairly impressive) got off the stage Maynard thanked him and said, "Every time he takes the stage with us we take a dollar off their debt. Ya'see we helped Tomahawk finace a Chinese food/autoparts store." Then in the middle of Opiate he brought up September 11th saying, "As you know we're comeing up on September 11th. Lets honor those people whose lives were lost. Lets honor them, not by lineing up like sheep to hand over our civil liberties. Instead, let us honor their memories by careing for our fellow man, by keeping our eyes open.. Think for yourselves, question authority' The visuals didn't change much from the show last year in Madison, except for the songs that weren't on last years set- list. The crowd behaved more or less how you'd expect a large gathering of drunken people to. There was a short bald guy in the crowd who looked alot like MJK, only he was covered in body paint to look like the guy on the cover of Lateralus. I, like many others, are still looking forward to hearing third eye live. Maybe next tour. The revolution will not be televised. But there will be a webcast. http://hiver.vitaminduh.com

Last nights show was great, except for the drunken idiots who gave Milwaukee a bad name when it comes to disrespect!!! I thought Tomahawk put on a great show and deserved a standing ovation, instead they got majorly booed! Tool was wonderful again- I couldn't see how they could put on bad show. though, I do have to say, the show at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL was more exciting. It seemed as though everyone at this concert was more interested in slamming each other around than actually listening to the music, I don't know if it was just where I was standing or if everyone got a taste of it. Disrespect all around! I hate it when people come to the concert and only know sober and schism, then act like they are bored with the rest of the music, what Idiots!! Tool kicked ass, great visuals, outstanding all around!!!!

First, let me start off by saying that Tool is the greatest band ever! I have been listening to them since 1993, but unfortunately my first show was at the United Center on 8/29/02. This was truely an awesome religious experience! I had to see them again, so I booked tickets to the Milwaukee show and took my little sister. We started the show right up front, but things got a little crazy and we had to head out. Thanks to all the Tool fans out there who helped me out...kinda scary when you have to get carried out because your about to pass out and your 17 year old sister is freaking! I can truely say that I was 200% satisfied with everything, from the playlist to the images to the crowds energy. Tomahawk definitely has some potential, but just not my kinda band. Thank you guys for a truely life altering experience. See you in Moline!

Even though I think this was the worst of the now 3 I have seen, the show was still awesome. Tomahawk left something to be desired. Mike Patton is a shadow of what he use to be. The sound was awesome and the visuals were even better. I love the fact that they can remain static on stage and the crowd reacts better to that than when a freak is running around like a lunatic on stage. Another shining light...Danny...Damn is is fucking good.

I saw Tool about a year ago, and for some reason most bands tend to get boring the more times you see them live. Well, Tool isn't most bands. Seeing them the second time was just as good if not better than the first time. Just amazing. I think the overall show was probably better. I think Tomahawk is a much better styled band to open, than Messugah is. I liked Messugah, but they should be opening for Pantera or somebody. But, for some reason most of the crowd didn't like Tomahawk. I really don't think they gave them a chance, everyone was too pumped to see Tool. I enjoyed Tomahawk and think that they did a good job despite being booed most of their set. But, Tool was completely amazing. I really don't think that my vocabulary is artistic enough to fully describe the bands performance. It wouldn't be an understatement to say that Tool has got to be the best band of our generation. The stage was unlike anything any other band is doing. The performance itself was sharp and sounded amazing, and they even changed up a couple songs, which was pretty funny, because all the dorks that sing along at concerts kept singing, when Tool changed the songs up and did something new. Plus, the thing I really appreciated as a fan is that they don't get up there and talk shit like most bands do, they seem to stay humble and just play the music. But, I'll shut up now, those that were there now what I'm talking about. And those that weren't there, go see Tool as soon as you get the chance, you won't be disappointed.

Hey you! Read reviews already posted for your show to see if somebody already posted the setlist. The show totally rocked...and my neck pain can prove it!!! I have not been to a TOOL show before because the dates fell on days that included important family stuff that couldn't be changed.....anyways.....i hereby swear that I will not ever miss a TOOL show again. When I listen to my cd's or hear a song on the radio they sound even better than they did before...if that's really possible. hearing the music and watching their videos at the same time really made me realize how twisted and talented these guys are! The show was great!!!!!! Now I must interject some bitching and moaning here...some of the fans were a bunch of buttwipes, however. FYI:general admission doesn't mean that you get to be a general asshole. When a seat is taken a seat is taken, if people need to get a beer or go to the bathroom and their group is holding there seat....you move on and find somewhere else to sit....it's just common courtesy! now I don't want to sound like a candy-ass whiner, but give me break....move your feet, lose your seat is just kindergarten bullcrap!!!!!!!! Don't let anyone who shows up hours after you've been at YOUR seat ruin your TOOL experience. They're not worth it!! TOOL rocks! check out wheelofka.com

hello. to all the people that booed and screamed 'fuck you' and shit at tomahawk..... the jokes on you. tomahawk played better and better as the show went on thanks in large part to the negativeity flowing through the crowd of big sweaty metal heads at the front of the stage. they feed off that. thomahawk fucking rocked the us cellular arena! and if you don't like a band, why don't you go get a drink or something and not watch them. you know your showing disrepect for your beloved tool also by booing the band THEY chose to open for them. tool sounded very good live, i'm not a huge fan... but they were very good. i thought they were boring as hell to watch.... oh and i find it very funny that tool can walk off stage and let 1 obnoxious note just play out and get all cool and ambient and you people love it. but when tomahawk actually STAYS ON THE STAGE and does the same ambient/noise type of thing RIGHT IN FORNT OF YOU, you boo....... what the hell? i know it's not most tool fans out there. but why does everyone in milwaukee suck so bad?

This Tool concert was completely amazing. The setlist was great and it ended with the four most perfect songs. I don't think that their visuals on the screens were as good as when I saw them in Madison but the art work was incredible. I also thought the setlist was great this show too. Sober The Grudge +/- ions Stinkfist (extended) h. Schism (extended) Eon Blue Apocolypse (a small portion) Parabol Parabola Opiate intermission Disposition Reflection Triad Lateralus I thought the last 4 songs were excellent. Triad was the highlight. I didnt see Tomahawk's set because of the slow security checks to get in but they played well on Triad. I cannot wait to see Tool again. Each time it is a memerable occasion.

This was this reviewer's 1st Tool show

This was my first Tool show even though I have been a fan for a number of years, they just never came close enough. My friends and I got to the venue around 5:30 to make sure we were able to get good seats (it was all general admission). My friend and I were dropped of near the buses and I saw Adam get off, I think I was the only one who recognized him, I thought it should stay that way thinking that he would wish to go unknown as usual. So I didn't say anything, just smiled, even though I wanted to meet him quite badly. Well, back to the concert, Tomahawk opened (7:30) and wasn't quite sure what to expect. So I will just say that I loved them almost as much as I love testicular cancer and Mike Patton's vocal stylings (shreeks and what not) even less. Tool arrived on stage (8:45 or so) after about 5 minutes of lights out and the Tool video exciting die hard fans. The set list was as follows: Intro (distortion and feedback) Sober The Grudge Stinkfist (extended version!) H. (very cool) Schism (extended version!) Parabol Parabola Opiate -Intermission (more distortion and feedback) Dispostion Reflection Triad [members of Tomahawk join (Tomahawks' coolest performance by far)] Lateralus Great show! Maynard didn't face the audience much. Best show I have ever been to... but it could have been better if they had played more of my favorite songs: forty-six & 2, third eye, pushit, Ænema, Prison Sex, jimmy. But for all I cared they could have played their entire catalog, I wouldn've stayed into the early hours of the morning. The video's were great, and the back drops were quite cool. I have never seen a stage set up like they had: Maynard Danny Adam Justin (front of stage) Very Toolish. I give the show a 5 but that is on a scale of 3-5 of course. Hope Tool comes back to Milwaukee soon cause I'll be there. Think for yourself, question authority! Harrison D.

well...what can i say...it was a great show, very pink floydish. ALthough this wasn't as good of a show as the past tool shows i have seen, it didn't dissapoint me. well, here is some background... i saw tool for the first time 08/98 at sunken gardens theatre in san antonio, tx with the melvins opening....somehow they always end up touring with not-so-great bands....that show was by far the best show i have been to in my life (out of about 60 concerts) the crowd was awesome and the show was like a pseudorealistic dream, not to mention this was the first time i had heard them play you lied and the slow version of pushit the second time i saw them was 10/01 at verizon amplitheatre in selma, tx that show was an eventful night. i had a friend somehow manage to get us orch pit when we had tix for the lawn...i think she gave one of the employees head...who knows...who cares. that was a great show. maynard had a friend come out on stage during parabola and do some arobatic contortionism on steel cables and harnesses. the guy was nude. interesting show. came to boot camp 2 wks later this show was good...i had driven from ohio that day straight to the concert, pulled up in front of the cellular arena, saw some lady pulling out and grabbed the parking spot across from the entrance, went to the bathroom and got on the floor appx 5 mins before they started. talk about perfect timing especially for coming from a 7 hr drive. i met this awesome girl named susan during schism and was going to go party with her after the show but her ride was being a dick well.....not much for theatrics at this show. great music..... to sum up this past show... no other concert has ever compared to the immense depth of this one... except for the two tool shows i saw previously ;) on a concert scale i give it a 9.6 on a tool concert scale i give it a 6.5 peace, love, and happiness chris

Wow, once again a TOOL show. needless to say it was pretty freakin awesome. Tomahawk i couldn't hear well but it was annoying. I saw TOOL in madison last year and that was excellent. They played more songs last time but the differences this year were well worth it. All through disp/reflec/triad i was pretty much in a daze. It was so cool that they didn't just play their songs exactly off the album... thats what the PA is for. I really felt they broke free of that this time s opposed to last. I was also pleased to hear Opiate again. I agree with the reviewer who was ripping on the people who mosh to parabol or reflection. i unfortunately was not on the floor so i got to watch and laugh from afar. I also felt Maynards little tribute or recognition of the 9/11 victims and all was highly outta place. It didn't feel right. especilly tying it in with thinking for yourself and questioning authority. That was the only part of the show i did not agree with.

Well, I'm just not even going to go into the compliments here because shit, everyone has already said it and I completely agree. TOOL, as always, is proving itself to be well above any other in skill and musicianship, and definetaly creativity. Any chance to see them I would sell my mother to see. And best of all, you don't have to take substances to get a trippy feeling. ;> Now this was my first time seeing a concert in Milwaukee. People, grow some fucking skin and take some criticism. Tomahawk was a unique and interesting change from the norm of todays radio. I can definetaly see why TOOL would tour with them. A lot of the musical mechanics were VERY SIMILAR to TOOL so I have no idea why you dumb asses were booing at them. If you don't like it, go out in the hallway and mingle there, or at least just shut up and listen. I had the privilage of sitting next to a ten year old and listen to them boo Tomahawk. As another has already posted, Tomahawk you got another fan. And last but not least. If you want to go and drink, smoke, and meet / talk to new people, go to a fucking bar! Don't go to a concert for just some god damn background noise. That is not what a concert is for, especially when you pay 45 bucks (thank you ticketmaster) to see them. Those type of people should feel privaleged that TOOL would perform for the likes of them. So enough of the bad stuff. Thats all that was bad about the concert. To write what was good would take a life time. Tomahawk, way to come out a roaring, especially to a not so receptive crowd. Continue to make fun of people who have no open minds. TOOL, congrats on an awesome show and thank you for taking the time to share your music and experience with us. Keep doing what you do best.

4th. show in 2 yrs. Tool as usual was excellent, but I sometimes question the setlist. I am under the assumption that you need to see Tool in L.A. to get the ultimate playlist. They didn't play Aenima or Prison Sex. I like Opiate, but it isn't Aenima. H was nice and sounded better than it does on the Aenima. Every thing else was pretty much par for the tour. I also don't mind moshing out, but during Parabola is wrong. Tool is the only band out there that has musical integrity. Their music is for themselves and their fans, what a concept. Over the years I have probably been to 200 shows and nothing I have seen compares to Tool. Rage Against The Machine was about as close as a band could come. Hopefully they put one of these shows on DVD so I can sit down roll one and enjoy it. People bitch about Tool fans, I didn't have one problem at this show. Do Bongs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
