Tool at Lollapalooza 1997 Tour Reviews

Review written by: Eric (CTYCRAN@msn.com) Review posted on: 07/12/97 15:08:07 OK, this was my first Lollapalloza and my first time ever seeing Tool. It was a very long wait to see them but luckily bands like Radish and Korn made it fun. Anyway, it was torture waiting through Snoop Doggy Dogg to see Tool. But when they finished their was a huge gong on stage with some weird imagery on it and Danny's drum set was set up extremely quick. Some weird music was played over the sound system which included samples of Bill Hicks. After what seemed like an eternity two smke-boxes showed up on the video wall lining the back of the stage and Danny walked out, followed by Adam who was painted blue and Justin who was painted green. Last Maynard ca me out with a bright white face, tall high heels, jockeys, and a bustia filled with huge prosthetic breasts. He also had a long pony tail. As the crowed roared they jumped into 'Hooker with a Penis' followed by 'Stinkfist' SMALL NOTE: during 'Stinkfist' Maynard swithced the first and second verse. After Maynard urged on the crowed by saying "Boston, ohhh Booooostonnnnn" then he said the next song was about subtle changes and of course it was 'Forty-Six and Two' which was followed by one of the last songs I was expecting to hear 'Crawl Away'. Tool's set was flawless in sound, but unfortunately they left out key songs like 'H.' 'Jimmy' '4 degrees' and 'Prison Sex' but their performence of 'Eulogy' (my personal fav) made up for all the songs they didn't do. What suprised me most was that no electronics were used in the intro, those metal click sounds were made on Danny's set and Maynard spoke through a small disc to make some weird noises. Before ending the show with 'Aenema' Maynard explained that they made a video for it but MTV probably won't play it. . .so they showed the unsettling piece of art over the video wall. Unfortunately it was a short set, 9 songs, but it was good enough SET LIST (I'm not sure if this is the exact order, but it's close): Hooker with a Penis Stinkfist Forty-Six & Two Crawl Away Sober Pushit Eulogy Opiate Aenema

Review written by: Jess DeBurro (wntgtfldgn@aol.com) Review posted on: 07/11/97 17:25:23 I went to Lollapalooza for 1 reason only: to see Tool. This was my first time seeing them live and the force was with me. I busted my ass to get tickets right when they went on sale and THEN they made the Pavilion seats available. So I was stuck on the lawn until I ran into these "older" friends of mine who had an unused ticket for section 3 (row X, ew). When they were taking the stage I ran to the middle section and ended up in the 7th row. That was a rush in itself. I was close enough to see that the black platforms Maynard wore had a bit of white on the top. He sported some white spandex? and what looked like the suit Robin Williams wore in Ms. Doubtfire. When Jones came onstage painted blue, I almost mistook him for Maynard since I was told that Maynard painted himself blue. That was obviously straightened out. Chancellor was green and I honestly couldn't get a good look at Carey. Anyway, they blew me away with Opiate mainly because it wasn't a song off of Aenima, which is al most becoming trendy (I think that explains the kids wearing Tool shirts that weren't even standing for their set). I loved Crawl Away and Sober was incredible. They were everything I expected and more. They finished with Aenima, fittingly, we're all going to have to learn to swim just in case WE get flushed away too. The video was cool, but I payed more attention to Maynard, who was walking around in circles like he was in a wresting match ready to shoot. I payed little attention to the other bands at Lollapalooza, but Maynard said to stay for Orbital, so I did, and I'm glad that I did. Other than that, every other review has covered how Snoop overused B-atch, James sucked, Korn was intense, I missed Tricky (I was distracted by the Temple Dancers), and The Marley Brothers opened the day in a mello way. I'm biased. I think Tool stole the show. I talked to some people and got a look at the set-list and Tool had been designated the longest time slot, 1hour and 15 minutes, and kicked ass for every second that they were on stage. So either Perry Farrel likes them best, or they are the best. I'd say both are true since they were the first band-bio in the FREE Lollapalooza mag. (Obviously WE know they're the best, but does Perry?)

Review written by: traviscommeau (travis@granite.interwebb.com) Review posted on: 07/11/97 00:06:59 I didn't get there until the middle of Tricky, who wasn't bad but was boring, Snoop sucked bad. Too infatuated with reverb and 'mothafucka.' Glad I didn't get there till late, the show aside from Tool and Orbital was long and drawn out. Anyway, I saw Tool earlier at Fitchburg and due to my closeness to the satge that time I kind of enjoyed it better then. Adam Jones is the only person I have ever looked up to so I liked being about 12feet from in in the Wallace Civic Center. On the othe rhand, I loved being able to see Justin and Danny better this time even if I was much farther away. There is just so much going on at once and it's impossible to watch it all, absolutely beautiful. The modifications to the songs were refreshing and conf using, which was good. No one has mentioned the change to 46&2 that they did. Justing began with the shorter riff instead of the normal longer one. Itchy and Scratchy at the end was great. Basically the experience of a life-time. The Aenema video was all I could concentrate on for that song and it was a work of art. Adam Jones is a genius. I must learn from him. I screamed so hard at this show the muscles in my back ached. I hope they return soon, they're too good to miss but then again, it's all over so soon... end note: I never have liked techno / electronica, in fact I hated it, and still do, except for Orbital. They really surprised me. Then again, all music is better live.

Review written by: Mike Collins (x-phile1@ma.ultranet.com) Review posted on: 07/10/97 16:37:51 After a morning of mass confusion (someone was working who was supposed to go, but we found a new member to our little lollapalooza crew). So Nate, Sheila, Matt, and I arrived at the show at 12:45 and went in at about 1:30. We met up with a bunch of oth er friends at the show, and went to the grass, well actually sand to see the Marleys. They put on a pretty good show. Next was James. He was pretty mellow, an overall decent performance. KoRn was coming up, and the crowd gathered at the front of the s and. They were pretty freakin' good. Come on, there's no better kick-in to a song than "No Place To Hide" (Ha-Ha-Ha!!). Then came Tricky, who was OK, but I didn't really care for him, so I went to the 2nd stage to see Summercamp. WOW. They were great , and you could get within 15 feet of the stage, and no Rent-A-Cops in sight (WooHoo). I was then sicked by so many Snoop fans. He didn't get through 5 words without saying "motherfucka". Onto Tool : They moron "fans" went nuts every time a roadie tuned up the guitar. I hate that. Oh well. Maynard came out in full drag. The boy's MAD. We figured it was only for Hooker, but it was on for the entire show. 2 songs after 46&2 some fucker in front of me goes "Play 46&2". What a Jerk-Off ( i wish they played more "old-school" stuff). Opiate & AEnima were hilites, and the video for AEnima was the best tool vid I've seen. Although the Fitchburg show earlier was much better in my opinion. As MJK had instructed, we stayed for orbital (only because Nate is a die-hard orbital fan, and even met them when the 2 brothers were walking around). I had a migrane and just sat on the grass, eyes closed, but the music was thumping. A security guard basically woke me up, and said they were opening up the seating to everyone (since 75% of the people at least were gone). I led us down, and actually felt better. As soon as we got down there, SATAN-SATAN-SATAN flashed on the screens. I don't like Techno, well I guess I do...now. Sorry this was so long guys

Review written by: Porter (porternet@prodigy.com) Review posted on: 07/10/97 16:37:16 As my friend David Abramovich has already covered most of what I was intending to say, I will mention only a few key things. 1. Variations to the songs were far more frequent here than in Fitchburg back in February, and many times may have been unintentional. - Stinkfist - major interlude inserted just before "I'll keep digging..." which incorporated, the tapped pattern from the song's intro. ALSO, switched first two verses. - PuShit - Maynard skipped the 4 lines from "Staring down that hole again" to "Terrified of what may come." Nobody else seemed to notice. - Aenema - sang the "Fuck retro anything/L.Ron Hubbard/etc." stanzas in the order they appear on the TDN lyric sheet, rather than the order they appear on the album. 2. Except for 46&2, which was a little slower and more melodramatic, the band kept to tempo of the album; in February, they played noticeable slower. 3. Not only was the performance preceeded by a trip-hop version of Third Eye and a spoken-word piece containing some of the the lyrics from Hooker (out of order), but short, industrial-esque pieces were played over the sound-system between songs, as well. At one point, when Adam and Justin stopped to re-tune, they subtly taunted me with an obscure bass-line and then a more-conspicuous guitar line from Third Eye, suggesting they were about to play it. Then they broke into PuShit, which was certainly no disappointment. 4. Great Woods, which stupidly chose not to organize a "pavillian general admission" (pit) area for this particular show, did not react when the crowd flooded the aisles during Korn, moshing, getting sweaty, and venting as one should do at a Korn show. I ended up first row (up from 20th row). Unfortunately, the venue THEN beefed up security, so that a repeat incident could not occur during Tool. In my opinion, seeing Tool from a seat sucks as well. Their may be slightly better lines of sight, but the inability to truly become one with the sound and the atmousphere simply stymied my ability to truly enjoy the occasion as I had in February. Last note: I'm ever-ecstatic thay the band played Crawl Away, presently a rarity in their set-list. 'Twas the highlight of the evening.

Review written by: Jason Dubreuil (dubes@ma.ultranet.com) Review posted on: 07/10/97 00:01:43 this was the first time i saw TOOL play out, and it was deffinetly worth the wait. I was a little unsure of whether to see them play or not becuase the took someone up on the stage at the strand in providence and pissed all over him. poor sucker. This band has a sound unlike anything i have ever heard, when are you coming back. jay

Review written by: Matt Davidson (muddboy@juno.com) Review posted on: 07/09/97 20:15:21 I was somewhat disappointed with Tool at Lollapalooza. The show was quite enjoyable; I loved it when Maynard threw his fake tits onto the stage. My real qualm is with the fans. It was obvious that many of them had jumped on the Tool bandwagon after Aenima came out. I can't stand those trendykes. I felt like a trendyke watching Tool play even though I was more of a true fan. Tool disappointed me because they only played three songs that weren't from Aenima. I guess they didn't care that much about their true fans. I would have liked them to play stuff like Swamp Song and Sweat but instead they played alternawhore stuff like Stinkfist. I still loved the show, the band just should have played more stuff from Opiate and Undertow.

Review written by: Colin David Campbell (qlipoth@telplus.net) Review posted on: 07/09/97 19:59:15 What's this Lollapalooza thing going on? I just went to this show where a bunch of bands opened up for TOOL and these two other guys closed up. *heh* So far, you've heard the costumes, though if the guitarist and bassist were not painted blue and green, then there was lighting to produce the effect. Maynard, of course, was dressed in shining white drag with a long topknot/ponytail like some Hari Krishna gone mad. I was astonished to see that the band was actually /better/ in concert than on their albums, which are damn near impeccable! The lighting and screens behind them were filled with twisting animations and scenes which I am sure made the kid in front of me who had just dropped the acid feel very, very happy. I have seen a few shows, but the 'ritual' which was this show was amazing. (Note, that behind the drummer was a large seal which looked to be the Sigillum de Ameth, used in concordance with many of Dee and Kelley's magickal workings. Then again, from my positioning at the time, it could have been Twister.)

Review written by: Jason St. George (striker2158@hotmail.com) Review posted on: 07/09/97 19:44:25 As I arrived at Lollapalooza at 4:00...I entered to here Korn getting the crowd pumped up with the intro from Blind, and the crowd was yelling BLIND, BLIND, over and over...Then Korn, proceeded to play thier set which consisted of a shitload of good songs...After Korn was Tricky..They sucked...THen Snoop Doggy Dogg..It appeared that the crowd liked him, but soon enough we all got are adrenaline going and could not wait for Tool....As snoop finished, the rush to the front in the lawn section started..I was in the middle, of the lawn as close as a lawn ticket would get me....Then all the sudden members of the band came out to this fucked up version of 3rd Eye..And it seemed like (-)ions also....But as Maynard came out he memorized the crowd and he appeard so beautiful, dressed in drag with a bra. with some big fuckin tits...and knee highs, and face paited white..I believe it Justin, Adam, and Danny looked pretty normal, but I heard rumors that one was painted green, and one blue, but I was close enough that I could tell they weren't..Maynard was awesome, his eyes seemed to be staring through you, even through the video screen..He was quite active and spoke alot through the show...Of course the first song was Hooker, and here is the list.. Hooker Stinkfist Eulogy Crawl Away 46&2 Pushit Sober Opiate AEnima Jimmy????? But Stinkfist was messed up as he reversed the verses and sung the the second one first and first one second...I was shocked to here Crawl Away, cause that song is a personal favorite of mine. The only dissapointment was not hearing H.But that means shit cause It wasn't really a dissapointment, it just made me rock harder to AEnima cuase one can't apprecieate that song till its performed live, cause that video kicks ass.,and seeing Maynard emotions change as the song does is priceless, Tool may have said "take us with a grain of salt" but either Maynards a good actor or I think he can feel the power his music has on him and the followers of the band...Tool sounded great and they didn't miss a note..The mosh pits where numerous at the begining of tools performence but they faded away cause everyone wanted to see Maynard on stage, and the awesome video that was going on behind him......But if you have never seen tool go and see them cause I can't imagine how a band can perform better than they did....TOOL RULES

Review written by: David Abramovich (bramo1@massmed.org) Review posted on: 07/09/97 19:11:18 Here's a review of every band I got to see: [Note from Kabir -- no offense, but it does say to keep this short, so I clipped a couple para's about the early bands.] Tool: By far the best overall performance. The stage setup had a lot of lights, a big cardboard disc with lots of symbols on it, and Danny's drum kit even included a gong (which I dont think he even used). Also, while the stage was being set up, a weird trip-hop remix of Third Eye was playing. I hope it will become available on CD or something. Anyway, when tool finally came on, the crowd went wild. Danny was wearing his Killing Joke shirt with the sleeves cut off, and he had apparently had cut his hair short. Adam came out in pants with the upper half of his body painted blue. Justin was the same except he was green. However Maynard outdid them all. He came out in platform heels, stockings, underwear, a bra, and a white mask painted on his face. He also had a totally shaved head except for a waist-lenght ponytail (possibly fake). They opened the show with Hooker, and from then on I didnt calm down until they finished Aenima. Maynard's voice sounds even better live, and all was executed flawlessy. The Aenima video was cool, but its hard to pay attetion to the screen when Maynard is constantly gyrating and stomping all over the place on stage.Totally incredible. Right after they got off, the Itchy and Scratchy theme got played 3 times in a row. 7. Orbital: As soon as the itchy and scratchy music stopped, this techno music started up, and the preparation for Orbital was on. There were many dancers in cool costumes, and it really grabbed your attention. However, about 2/3 of the people ended up leaving after tool. Because it was really dark on stage, the two brothers had these glasses with little flashlights on them so they could see what they were doing. Since Great Woods was mostly empty by then, people were allowed to go as far up as they wanted. Now I'm not a big techno fan, but the hypnotic beats and lights made it impossible to resist dancing. They definitely used the lights better than any other band and created a really cool atmosphere. By the end of their set, everyone was up front and dancing. I really enjoyed them. My favorite song was that one about Satan. Overall, this was a great Lollapalooza, and was definitely worth the 40 bucks just for tool and korn. Orbital, Tricky, and Radish made it even better.

Review written by: Jay St. George (stgeorge@neca.com) Review posted on: 07/09/97 16:38:52 Well I arrived at Lollapalooza for Korns show which was full of bass and alot of screaming but over all they sounded alright....Snoop really stunk the place up all the drunks liked him till they realized he was playing for an hour...But tool realy rocked they sounded perfect...Maynard was in drag with his face painted white, and ther rest of the band appeared normal....They sounded 10X better live than on their CDs....Songlist not accurate Hooker Stinkfist Eulogy 46&2 Crawl Away Sober Pushit AEnima.. As I remember correctly....The band was really into this show, Maynard was talkin and everything,,There was a huge pit behind me and about 5 fights but after that all cooled down it got dark and everyone seemed memorized by the beautifull sound and appearenct of tool......Maynard was beautifull...In a demented way.. TOOL KICKS ASS..

Review written by: Raine (graduate@ultranet.home.com) Review posted on: 07/09/97 14:39:48 I went to Lollapalooza for Korn and Tool. I was amazed to see the amount of people wearing Korn t-shirts and Addidas merchandise. Kind of sad actually. Oh well, I enjoyed the show they put on, especially the bagpipes. I try not to get all wrapped up in how everyone else acts and I just worry about myself. TOOL: What a show. I loved Maynard's drag suit and his erotic dancing. He really needs to be careful of where he's putting his hands (down his pants?!), but it was great. I had seen them at the Wallace Civic Center-i liked them more there. Probably because I knew most of the people there were well deserving Tool fans. Where as at Lollapalooza you never could tell who was a true fan. It is kinda pure luck to get a good seat there, and I wished I had been closer. I did what I could though. I was really hurt to see many people who were even wearing Tool shirts sitting down during their set. Maybe that is just me, but I was heartbroken to half to be standing in section 7. They were great! My favorites were Eulogy and Opiate. Maynard just pulls the audience in and I love that. He doesn't even need to say much-the music says it all. Tool was definitely worth it. I would give anyting to see them around here again soon.

Review written by: ALbert (zurowb@rpi.edu) Review posted on: 07/09/97 10:46:00 I bought a ticket for $40 at Newbury, and I think I got jaked. My ticket relegated me to the lawn section at the back of the amphitheater, and scalpers were selling close reserved seats for $40! Well, I have comments about the whole concert, not just Tool's portion, so if you want to skip ahead, feel free. [Note from Kabir -- again, no offense, but it does say to keep this short, so I clipped a couple para's about the early bands.] Tool: Darkness was setting in and more staff was brought in to keep Tool fans like myself from getting out of the lawn section. One guy next to me had front-row seats, but just liked to finsh his beers on the lawn, which was actually more like a beach with all the sand. Screens were furnished so we could see what was on stage. Tool came out amid a warm reception from the audience. Maynard was dressed like a kabuki lingerie model. He was wearing white socks, white panties, and a white bra with fake breasts. Also, he had on a white face mask with a fake ponytail on the back of his head. Adam, Justin, and Danny were looking quite normal. The first song they played was "Hooker with a Penis," which must have been 25 percent slower than the recording. That was followed by "Stinkfist," with some apparent modifications. Maynard sang the "I can help you change...tired moments into pleasure" verse first instead of "Something has to change...undeniable dilemma." Also, the bridge before "I'll keep digging" was extended, while Maynard danced around like a club stripper. The crowd loved "Stinkfist," and sang along. They also enjoyed the next song, "Forty-Six and 2, " which Maynard said was "about gradual changes." After that, Tool went into "Crawl Away, " a personal favorite. Others didn't seem to be getting into it, though...it's possible that not all "Stinkfist fans" own the Undertow CD. Following that, Tool played three songs which garnered a favorable reaction: "Eulogy, " "Sober (everyone's favorite?)", and "PuShit". Before the next song, Maynard said "this one is for Johnny Martial-arts Hero." Then Tool performed "Opiate" which not too many people responded to. The last song was "Aenema," and the video played on the screens behind the stage. Maynard said "MTV isn't too sure they want to show this video, so this might be your only chance to see it." He also told us "If you're smart, stick around for Orbital. Sit back and open your mind." Well, after "Aenema, " there was no encore.... As for other things Maynard said: he asked everyone to "reach down" and say yes on the count of 3, then said "very nice" when most people complied. Early on, he also said "Boston.." So I figured I would get the most out of my $40 rip-off ticket and stay until the end of Lollapalooza. Security loosened up because of the darkness and many people exiting, so I was able to get a better view for Orbital. They had some women dancing in feathery costumes and seemingly random images flashing on the screens. I have never seen or heard Orbital before, but I thought their performance was excellent. After the show, I went to the parking lot and talked to some people about what went on inside. I think this was the first concert I went to where I didn't know anybody. Usually I go with someone, but this time I had to make new acquaintances. Some people agreed that Tool was awesome and then said that they are going to see Rage Against the Machine later this summer at Great Woods. There were these other kids who had something else to say. They told me that "Tool was the worst band they we ever seen...their lead singer is a faggot....all their songs sound the same." Then I asked who they were at the concert to see. The reply was "Korn." Go figure.

Review written by: Corey Desrosiers (coreydel@hotmail.com) Review posted on: 07/09/97 10:20:48 I slept over my friends house Monday because his dad was giving us a ride. So we woke up at 3 in the morning to head for Boston. It only took like 2 hours so We were there at like at 5. We sat in the parking lot watching the buses drive in. Well after about 7 hours just waiting for them to open the Gates we went in. There was like no Surcerity, I just walked in I didn't get frisked or anything. I had a recorder in my pants. So we walked around. Then we found our seats. We watched a little bit of the Marley Brother. They suck Then after that was James, They sucked too. Then was Korn, I tried to record them but my recorder fucked up. But I don't care. Then after Korn was Tricky, He sucked. Then Snoop. I found my seat in the middle of the Snoop concert cause I didn't want to miss Tool. I swear to god everyone was smoking dope. Well Snoop sucked, of course. Then was Tool, they played this weird mix of Third Eye, while the stage was getting ready. Then They came out, Danny was just dressed like normal, Justin was painted in Green, Adam was painted in Blue, And Maynard had black high heels, long white socks, a bra, a white thing on his face, and a long pony tail that went to his waist. My friend had a camera so we got a whole bunch of pictues. and I fixed my recorder, and I recorded the whole Tool concert. Here's the setlist Hooker With a Penis Stinkfist 46 + 2 Crawl Away Eulogy Sober Pushit Opiate nema After Sober Maynard did that Yes thing. "when I count to 3 I want you all to did down and scream yes" that thing Someone hit Maynard with a beach ball that was going around. They Dedicated Opiate to someone, I forgot, But I recorded it so I can just listen. Then after Opiate Maynard said to stick around for Orbital. Then I saw the nema video, wicked cool. After the show, there was that Itchy and Scratchy music, and then I left. I finally got to sleep around Midnight. July 8th was one of the best day of my life. If anyone wants a copy of the concert email me, and we can trade for something, or do a 2:1.

Review written by: Justin Wamboldt (justinw@tiac.net) Review posted on: 07/09/97 10:13:43 Well, this is the first time I've seen them live, and all I can say is that it fucking kicked ass. I just wish they played Prison Sex, 4 Degrees, and H

Review written by: Dave (dlc@securefast.mv.com) Review posted on: 07/09/97 02:02:12 Well if you've read the other reviews, you know the set list and you know how Maynard was dressed. Adam was blue and Justin was green. I watched bands at both stages all afternoon. Damn, I missed Julian and Damian Marley... Radish really kicked ass. Their covers and original songs were all awesome. The mosh pit and crowd surfing was minimal. Korn didn't inspire me but the Korn crowd seemed to be into it. The mosh pit in the isle was interesting. Some innocent bystanders got in the act just to maintain their seats. hehe Summercamp was ok...not as good as Radish but better than most of the other bands at Stage 2 (better than most of the bands at stage 1 too lol). Snoop...well...again I'm sure his crowd was in the house...I just wasn't into him...I can only go "hay-o" so many times before it gets boring. Eel was entertaining, a humorous and musically talented group...the crowd finally warmed up to them and began to "man dance" as Eel called moshing...and the crowd surfers were back...this redhead in combat fatigues kept on losing her black bikini/bra...the crowd was pleased. Tool was everything I expected (well except for Maynard's drag costume...hehe). They were mesmerizing. Lots of people screaming the lyrics...me included (I was three rows from the stage in the center). The video was pretty wild...would love to see it again to try to absorb more...but I probably never get to see it again if noMusicTV doesn't play it. Maynard talked to the crowd maybe three times...calling out "Boston...Boston", dedicating a song to a departed friend and to suggest to us that we stick around after their set for Orbital. All in all, I was rather pleased with their performance...short but tight. Orbital was a great unwined band...music and video walls...then they must have opened the gates, cause the crowd rushed the stage and it instantly turned into a rave...everyone was dancing to the ambient music. What a blast! The whole day was awesome...saw lots of bands...saw lots of people...just seeing Tool and Orbital was worth the price of admission...if you can catch a Lollapalooza show...DO IT!

Review written by: Greg Wason (gregw@toolshed.down.net) Review posted on: 07/09/97 00:21:07 OK, Tool was awesome. Better performance than the Wallace Civic Center so I was very pleased. Here's a quick lowdown on the other bands(that I saw): The Marley Bros. - Good, I like the way they talk ;) James - ehhh... OK. Korn - Good, happy that the atmosphere was very "korn-like" Summercamp - Great =) Go support the second stage and the guys are really nice too. The bass player even pointed me out in the crowd =) Tool - hmmmmm... ;) later Orbital - OHHHHHH MY GOD! They were awesome.. they just completely filled my senses in every way shape and form. I personally think that they put on a better "performance" than Tool. Tool was right on the money, awesome. Set list(as far as I can remember): Hooker with a Penis Forty-Six & 2 Crawl Away Stinkfist Eulogy Pushit Sober Opiate Aenema The video for Aenema was awesome, my favorite video so far by Tool. Kinda sad that it might not get airplay on MTV. Ohh well. At least I got to see it. My reasoning for saying that Orbital put on a better performance than Tool was that I guess I was really in the mood for a good ender to it all. It had been a long day and I sat and just absorbed Orbital. Tool's sound was really good... but could have been done better. The light show in truth could have been better too. But they performed well. Orbital put on a wonderful closing act and Tool played a wonderful headlining. I really like Ambient music so I guess I'm a little biased. OK, so maybe I'm heavily biased... ;) All in all it was a great show, and hell, I would've paid the forty bucks to have seen Tool alone, so it was definitly worth it. =)
