Korn didn't show because Munky got Viral Menengitis and the other bands blew. After a snooze in Devo came TOOL!!!\ Now THAT was some great shit. Adam Jones was all painted green and shit and Maynard was half red half black with fake titties to boot! The effects and everything were great! I snuck up to the 8th row with my buds for this one! WELL WORTH IT!! *****

Review written by: Joel Ansier (jansier@sun.iwu.edu) Review posted on: 08/07/97 22:52:32 Here's a review I wrote for the Open Up And Say... zine (current issue on my website at: http://www.iwu.edu/~jansier/). TOOL at Lollapalooza '97 Friday, July 25th at New World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, IL The New World Music Theatre is a terrible venue. For one thing, it's outdoor, so the acoustics are terrible. For a festival like Lollapalooza, the World works fairly well, with plenty of room for vendors and different displays. Exhibits of this sort were on full display at this year's Lollapalooza, the theme of which was saving the environment, as Perry Farrell tried diligently to explain in the free Lollapalooza magazine. There were a few exhibits that were kind of cool, such as The Greenhouse, The Temple, and The Brainforest, which served as more of a rave tent than an educational exhibit. Still, I didn't come to view museum exhibits designed for twelve-year-olds, I came to see Tool. But before I examine their set, I'll spend a little time highlighting the other performers at the second leg of this year's Lollapalooza. SECOND STAGE: MAIN STAGE: [Note from Kabir -- Uh, this isn't keeping down to a sentence or two. Snipped a couple of pages.] TOOL - Hooker With A Penis / Stinkfist / Forty-Six And 2 / Crawl Away / Eulogy / Sober / H. / Pushit / Opiate / Aenima Tool was simply incredible. I've been a big fan of this band for the past eight months, and I was not disappointed by their performance, not one tiny bit. They could have played any ten songs in any order and I would have loved it. Now that my obvious bias is out of the way, I'll examine their set in more detail. The band casually took the stage to the deafening roar of the crowd, as the swirling smoke-box front cover of AENIMA came to life on the screen at the back of the stage. Vocalist Maynard James Keenan was decked out in high heels, a bra, and speedos colored to match the rest of his body, which was painted completely red on one half, and completely blue on the other longitudinal half. Bassist Justin Chancellor's torso and face were painted dark green. I am assuming that guitarist Adam Jones had his "war pai nt" on, but I couldn't tell from my seats in the second pavilion. Drummer Danny Carey appeared to be attired in a normal fashion. The stage was stark, just a couple of monitors and Carey's big-ass drum kit. There were no TV monitors, just the movie screen (which displayed different images for most of the songs). Tool played a set consisting of seven songs off their masterful album AENIMA, two off UNDERTOW and the title track from the debut EP OPIATE. The band furiously established their presence with the uncompromisingly heavy track "Hooker With A Penis." This song was the perfect way to open a set at Lollapalooza, as it points a laughing finger at the typical alternative fan. "Stinkfist" and "Forty-Six and 2" came next, followed by "Crawl Away." Maynard's vocals were incredible throughout the entire show. I couldn't believe some of the stuff he was doing up there. On the record, "Crawl Away" ends with a six second bloodcurdling scream from Maynard (" stick - a - knife - IN!"). Not only did he hold that "IN!" just as well as on the record, but he managed to make it sound even more menacing than usual. I expected his throat to split open at any moment, but he just kept going and going. He is easily the best live rock vocalist I have ever heard in my life. That man sang, whispered, and screamed for an entire hour and fifteen minute set, reproducing everything as faithfully as the day it was recorded. The rest of the band was just as good. Danny Carey's p erformance was especially noteworthy. He reproduced every subtle rhythm on songs like "Eulogy" and "H." with a similar level of brilliance. In between songs, Jones and Chancellor knelt down in front of their monitors and screwed around, emitting cool melo dies that Carey fed off of in what is probably the closest thing to a jam you'll ever hear from Tool. I kept hoping to hear the muted strains of the "Prison Sex" intro during one of these jams, but oh well. Of the ten songs played, "Sober" and "Stinkfist" got the biggest reaction from the crowd. Most of the people around me had no idea what was going on when the band played "Opiate." Besides myself and my three friends, I think there were maybe ten OGTs ("Original Gangster Tool") in my entire section. That was quite a disappointment. Why somebody would spend thirty dollars and not even watch these bands is beyond me. While I was rocking to "Pushit," these hosers were chatting, probably about how cool their friends all looked. The final song in the set, "Aenema," was accompanied on the movie screen with the new music video. If you haven't seen it yet, it was a Tool video, cool and confusing. Nothing more to really say about that. All told, Tool put on one of the three best performances I have ever seen in my life, and I cannot wait until they go on their fall tour so I can see them in a more intimate setting. Easily the most intense performance I've ever witnessed, I was able to get rid of what little aggression I had within me and then some fake aggression as well! Make sure you check them out if they swing by your neck of the woods. And if you haven't bought AENIMA yet, then get with the program and find out what you've been mis sing.

Review written by: TopHat (TOPHAT16@aol.com) Review posted on: 08/04/97 15:39:53 On the way to my second tool show and second lollapalooza I smoked three joints so I could stand the begining bands. The whole festival started out like shit; the first thing you hear after you enter the gate after driving out the middle of nowhere is that KORn is not playing because MUnky is sick.(I personally think he smoked too much crack and couldn't get out of bed) That was a bummer cause I enjoy the energy KoRn puts out. SKipping the other shit: altera-teens, poop a fat log, and especialy devo(gag!!!) Then the moment I came for: TOOL!!!!! Maynard and the gang opened up with hooker wtih a penis making laugh because I saw about 3,000 kids that looked like they could star in the yet-to-be-made video. Playing mostly recent tracks, TOOL forgot to play prison sex, swamp song, and Jerk Off. That was alright for me and everyone else around me just because I kept screaming OPIATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! between every song. When they finally played it I busted 2 nuts and everybody patted me on the back. The show was not as exciting and violent as my first experience and the ARAGON BALLROOM in chicago but TOOL was still able too kick my ass at the World music theater. And it has seats!!!!

He's the most over-rated under-rated piece of shit on the scene, write about THE CHEMICAL BROS. or Prodigy insted. Snop Doggy Dog: " Let the motion of your body be the key cuz we be tha mother fuckin' G-funk family, now I'll be the G in this deadly game Snoop Dogg is the name Dogg pound's the game" Yes, I liked him; but on the contray I am black and I was there. Devo: The were damned good. Tool: The were fucking adrenilized!!! I fucking loved them. I was upset that Maynard had to come out dressed like an asshole I always was proud of the fact that the never had to resort to that Marilyn Manson shit. But I think the have a long way to go before they sell out that unabashedly. They played from thier hearts and tapped directly to mine. Four goddamned stars!!!!

Review written by: RGS (gkscalf@dcache.net) Review posted on: 08/02/97 01:26:16 This was my second Lollapalooza show. I also went to one in Michigan. Since I already had seen the other main acts I spent most of my time at the second stage. All the bands back there were good. I liked Skeleton Key best, my friend liked Agnes Gooch best. The Rap act was the Lost Boyz and they were better than Snoop. Korn didn't play and I thought there would be a riot when their fans found out. They did some protesting, but were pretty much under control. Tool put on another awsome show. However I liked Maynard's getup in Michigan better. The theatrical white mask has better effect I think than the half and half look. The best song they played was Eulogy at this concert. Stinkfist is Michigan. Bummer, no No Quarter this time and no Prison Sex. If you think you like Tool now, wait until after you see them ! RGS

Review written by: Jon Carlile (BigCat71@AOL.COM) Review posted on: 08/01/97 14:11:37 Well, I alomost got lost because Alex Mendregal(my concert buddy)was constantly rubbing my crotch. [Note from Kabir - Now, honestly, I know we all wanted to know this.] However, the powers that be let us get there safely. Alex and I loved the marley band because Alex has a crush on them. James was especially delightfull because they were in drag. I too was in drag so I felt a special connection. Korn couldn't make it, so me and alex orally stimulated each other and the die hard Korn fans next to us, to pass the time. Then came snoop. I did not enjoy snoop cause he was always yelling about girls, me and alex have not liked the opposite sex since we discovered our sexuality together. Tool was the WORST. Of course that stud Maynard was wearing nothing but body pain and a bikini. I wish I was that thong. Maynards package was so visible I was becoming aroused. I wonder if he painted his penis too. Alex wants Maynard's phone number, and hey Kabir, you sound pretty sexy, I love middle eastern men. Of course I am jewish, but that shouldn't be a problem. [I suppos thanks are in order. Though it might disappoint you to know that I have no accent.]

Review written by: Rob NAIL Allin (thejack45@hotmail.com) Review posted on: 08/01/97 00:53:12 Tool put on the kind concert that I can easily say was the best I've seen in my life. From getting everybody pumpin' with "Hooker With a Penis" to a thunderous finale on "AEnema", they didn't slow down for a second. Other concerts I've seen have had dul l periods, but at Tool, my friends and I were screaming and head-banging to every song. And I mean we were SCREAMING. People looked at us like we were nuts, but that just added to the thrill of being there. We could all safely say that we were the BEST Tool fans at the World Music Theatre that night; from being the only ones in the stadium singing along to the Vegas version of "Hooker" to constant screams of "TOOOOOOOLLLL!!!!" as we headed to Tommy Pfeief's Turtle. Ricky may have told you he had a hard on, but I had some MAJOR WOOD from that concert. As Rick pointed out during the show, it was better than sex. Believe me, no band has ever come close to getting that distinction from myself. Toll is THE MOST ROCKIN, KICK-ASS BAND THERE IS, plain and simple. The next time Tool's in town, I'm there, or else someone send a search party for me, cuz I'm fricking dead. TOOL ROCKS!!!!!!

Review written by: Anthony C. (capri@flash.net) Review posted on: 07/31/97 23:30:59 The first thing I did before I got ready to go to Lolla, was go to this very web page while listening to all three Tool cd's. When I got in the car to go to the New World Music Theater I couldn't stop thinking about how great Tool would be, since I read in other reviews that they were great. When I got to the venue, I first noticed all the trendy alterna-shit type boothes around. Trendy shit. Stuff that people that want to be different wear, when they are actually wearing jewelry that thousands of kids wear, too. Some of the stuff was cool but most of stuff was just trendy b.s. After I got past the crap, I sat in my seat and to my surprise, we had great seats. Eighth row, center. Now for the reviews. Marley- Great. Good reggae. Played some Bob Marley. Tricky- O.K. If you like that kind of stuff, it's cool- if you don't, it's 45 minutes of hell. Korn didn't play because supposedly, Munky got sick(what Maynard said onstage) James- complete shit. That's all I could say. Snoop- also complete shit, nothing but a bunch of gun-totin' hip gangster wannabees that were also by the way white. I don't think I saw one african-american present at the whole show. This gangster rapper was performing to a bunch of white suburban white kids. Devo- really cool. I wasn't into all of their music, but the show itself was really cool. Great entertainers. Tool- Words cannot describe the show that Tool put on. I was mesmerized when the smoke box first appeared on the screen. I had come to see Tool, and at one point had to sit through snoop doggy dog for God's sake, so when they came on, I was in seventh heaven. The music sounded great. They could have played more from Undertow or Opiate, but I'm not complaining. Also, No Quarter would have been cool to hear because I've never heard it before. It seemed as though Adam was just staring straight into my eyes at one point. His dark eyes just peered straight at me and I just stared right back. MJK could have been naked, since he was barely wearing anything. Danny was great. He is now definitely my favorite drummer ever. His fills were just so fast and accurate at the same time. If I go on, I won't stop, so all I could say is go see Tool even if you have to sit through Snoop Doggy Dog, it's worth it!!!!! And if you get the chance take the time to see Molly Maguire on the 2nd stage, they're cool.

Review written by: Tommy Pfeif (eaglescout@aol.com) Review posted on: 07/28/97 18:52:19 I love Tool. They are the best band in the world. However, I think that Tricky gave a much more uninhibited and triumphant performance. The vocal stylings of Tricky was nevertheless superb and heartwarming, compared to the Cold Irony of Tool's Eulogy. So here's my Eulogy to all of you Tool fans, the earth is a sacred place which must be treated with respect and must not be polluted by uncaring humans. So in conclusion, Tool was a fair band which gave a very mentally damaging performance, however the true damage is to the environment and is caused by careless concert goers who care little about Mother Earth and only care about their own leasure and frugalties, and this must be stopped right here, right now, no more excueses people, this is are time to shine!!! Oh yeah, and Manyard had tits.

Review written by: Stephen Vanderbilt (drinkboy@aol.com) Review posted on: 07/28/97 18:13:18 Tool was a very strange experience for me. Manyard was very sexually attractive and so where the other members of the band. I had a drinky in one hand and my cock in the other throughout the whole show. I experienced the greatest orgasm of my life from those tool boys, but I can't say that I really enjoyed their music too much. But Manyard's breast and his tight G-string really got me off in a hurry.

Review written by: Marty B. (euphoria22@hotmail.com) Review posted on: 07/28/97 14:18:08 After almost getting lost on my way to Lollapalooza, I finally managed to navigate my way to the New World Music Theater. When I got there, the place was nearly empty, but I wasn't complaining. I went to check out my seat. Eight row back from the stage, dead center. Now the show. MARLEY'S - not bad, but not my kind of music. JAMES - ditto. KORN - although I'm not a big Korn fan, I was kinda disappointed by them not being there. Oh well. TRICKY - pleasantly surprised. loved the woman's voice. SNOOP - Fair. too much having the crowd yell crap and not enough songs. DEVO - not bad, but sub-par. Wasn't into their music. TOOL - you probably already know the set list, so i won't tell you it again. Maynard came out in a bikini? or bra? half blue and half red. His voice sounded much better than the last show I saw (Nov. 14). Since I was so close, I could see every expression on Maynard's face. It was amazing. It seemed like he was staring right at me. (but he stares at everyone, right?) Adam and Danny were spectacular. Maynard was intense and his voice sounded great. Justin was pretty good, but not his best. The only disappointments I had were: I wanted to hear No Quarter bad. I wanted to hear Third Eye almost as bad. Dumbasses in front of me blocked my view. All in all, Lollapalooza was not worth forty bucks. I wanted to see Orbital but I found out a couple days prior to Lolla. that they had left. I knew I'd be disappointed. But, I saw Tool so all was not lost. Marty B.

Review written by: Craig Enstad (enst0005@maroon.tc.umn.edu) Review posted on: 07/28/97 09:50:49 JAMES: not bad; lead singer emulates Bono TRICKY: great drummer; the woman's voice is incredible, sang two PE songs KORN: still not playing SNOOP: underrated (at Lolla); got the crowd going; high intensity DEVO: energetic; some complex music TOOL: hooker stinkfist 46 & 2 crawl away eulogy H sober pushit opiate aenema HIGHLIGHTS: Maynard dressed in a bra and high heels; wished James (Korn) the best of luck; after "hooker", maynard says, "there's T-shirts for sale after the concert"; entrancing images on three screens LOLLAPALOOZA (OVERALL): the same festival vendors selling hemp trinkets and hacky sacks; expensive beer; trendy folks; intellectual tents--not much different than previous lolla's, not the rebirth that Perry Farrell was hoping for

Review written by: Phil Schneider (daves49@msn.com) Review posted on: 07/28/97 03:44:28 I haven't seen many concerts, actually only one before Lollapalooza, but after seeing Lollapalooza (TOOL, cuz that is basically all that was worth seeing) I was left with the distinct feeling that I would never see a better show in my entire life. God, w as that one of the better experiences of my life. I sang along with every word, headbanged along with every song, and screamed in between every break. I will try and clarify what everybody else who has left a message has mixed up. Maynard clearly had a bra type thing which gave him the appearance of having some Tig Ole Bitties (breasts). I also noticed his crotch getting larger during the show, but maybe that was just my imagination. His whole right side was definitely blue but the other side seemed red at the beginning of the show, but then it sweated off and he was his normal white self towards the end. The movie clips going on during the show were fucking cool as hell . . . Amazing. They added an extension to STINKFIST right after "Desensitized to everything. What became of subtlety?". They had a huge gong with a pentagram on it, but it was just a prop, as in, not used physically, only aestheticly. Everything else the other guys who saw the concert said seems pretty much true, except they left out that the camels were also fucking and there was this nude african tribe jumping up and down, but that was in this weird, flashy negative color so I could see how some people could miss that. All and all, this was the greatest event in my short life. I believe this is an experience everyone should be try to witness, because this was truly a spectacle.

Review written by: Master Reviewer (mancow@imaxx.net) Review posted on: 07/26/97 02:09:46 Korn didn't play and the rest of the show sucked except for Tool who closed and rocked the joint down. Here's the set list(slightly jumbled): 1. Hooker w/a Penis 2. Stinkfist 3. 46&2 4. Crawl Away 5. Eulogy 6. Sober 7. H 8. Pushit 9. Opiate 10. Aenema Maynard came out half red/half blue. They showed the usual Aenema video and the caveman one. I also remember seeing two elephants having sex, a camel screaming, and what looked like Jews walking into a concentration camp. At one point Maynard told everyone to scream on the count of three to remember the sick Korn member. He also said before Aenema that this song was about getting back to what really matters. I was kind of disappointed they didn't play No Quarter, but overall I think that was the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life. By the way, Maynard's voice sounded so beautiful, as usual.

Review written by: Furball The Ringfigure (furball@pla-net.net) Review posted on: 07/26/97 02:00:54 OK, I'm going to make a general review of the concert, since it was quite an experience. However I will focus on Tool's performance in detail... The Marleys: Great, if you appreciate good reggae, I suppose... James: No thanks. Korn: Munky had menengitis, oh well... Tricky: Most underrated performer at Lolla. WAY too many people were just sitting through his set like fools. Get up and DANCE!!! Snoop: Didn't watch him, instead... FAILURE: Incredible!!! I like Failure, this may be a bit partial, but they were the second best band at Lolla. PLEASE do not miss them, make sure you get to the second stage while Snoop is clowning around. Justin and Danny were watching them from backstage on 2nd stage while Snoop/Devo were playing, and one of the crowd people had the discontinued shirt sold through TDN (The Opiate-quoting one) :) Devo: Are we not human? We are devo!!! Actually, they may not be for everyone, but their sound has changed significantly since the Whip It days, it's much more aggressive, with more guitar. They didn't cover NIN's Head Like A Hole though. :( Finally...Tool... Me and my friend Alex had moved from the far right section, row L to the centermost section, row H via careful and crafty seat-jumping (and careless security). They played the Third Eye dance/techno/trip-hop track, and also played Sunic by Download (very good Skinny Puppy side-project) as well as bits of Bill Hicks, monks, and televangelist soundbytes...finally, Tool hits the stage. Maynard is black and orange with the bikini and G-string, Justin is green, Adam and Danny are normal (albeit Danny has shorter hair). The set list as far as I remember... 1. Hooker 2. Stinkfist 3. 46&2 4. Crawl Away 5. Sober 6. Eulogy 7. H. 8. Pushit 9. Opiate (with intro) 10. nema (with video) Notes: Maynard did the pause in Hooker to promote Tool shirts. Stinkfist had the new section, if you haven't heard it, the closest thing would be the beginning of Convulsion by Skinny Puppy. Maynard was quiet until the rally cry for Munky at the beginning of H. Quick note that while I sang (screamed was more like it, the 2 kids next to me though I was fucking nuts) along to all the songs, all the alternateens only sang along to Stinkfist, Sober and select nima songs. There was quite a bit of energy in the crowd, even the band was more festive as Justin and even Adam were grooving to the beat of their music. As I watched the screen above during Sober, I noticed a film of people walking in a row, to the music, almost sheep-like. I started to think about the Lolla crowd and how they resemble the sullen figures marching in the display. Most of the kids thought Opiate was a new song. Nevertheless, it was a mellow crowd, with little fighting, hostility, or even moshing (although I got a few people pogoing to Tool ;P) And, as always, Tool were excellent. One more tip: Get ready to bring LOTS of money. Nothing is cheap. :) Ta-ta, until later.... Furball

Review written by: Andy Reitz (ajr9@po.cwru.edu) Review posted on: 07/26/97 01:55:07 Tool at the New World Music Theater, Tinley Park, IL. July 25, 1997. This was my first lollapalooza, and i have to say that it was a decent experience. made better, of course, because i didn't have to sit through korn, and that i didn't miss any of tool's set due to watching failure (they moved devo ahead of tool, so i missed 'whip it' instead). without further ado, here's the rather 'standard' setlist: Aural Visual ===== ====== 1. Hooker With A Penis 2. Stinkfist+ 'tear drops' 3. Forty Six & 2 'gears' 4. Crawl Away 'brick tunnels' 5. Eulogy 'cromag-man + camels' 6. half empty 'mists' 7. Sober 'man inside and out' 8. Pushit 9. Opiate 'fractals?' 10. nema the vid. while the stage was being setup, quite a variety of 'stuff' was played. my hearing was kinda shot at this point (failure + devo), but i did manage to pick out a kinda vegas/lounge version of 'hooker with a penis'. wacky, but terribly cool. then there was a bill hicks snippet, badmouthing people who appear in advertisements. it was something along the lines of that as soon as you appear in one advertisement - you've sold out. this is because from then on, the advertiser basically owns you, you have to watch what you say in public, etc. at least, that's what i remember... they did the standard 'low rumble + smokebox' before taking the stage. justin's upper half was painted green flourescent, and looked really cool when combined with the proper lighting. adam & danny were shirtless and in pants. maynard was in full body paint, painted blue on his right side and orange on his left. he looked really incredible when in the proper lighting. now, i didn't have my glasses on (which tend to 'focus' my distance vision), but his chest did seem 'lumpier' than usual. i think you can figure the rest out... hooker was a great way to open the show. noteable: the lights went completely out, and there was the briefest-of-pauses before the 'buy, buy...' stanza. wicked. stinkfist was also very well done. they extended the end somewhat. before the final stanza, it dropped back into what sounded like the beginning of the song, and then adam, justin, and danny played around a bit. i was very surprised by the ferocity with which they played crawl away. their performance made me appreciate that song a lot more (which isn't to say that i didn't in the first place...). i would have rather been treated to undertow, or 4 degrees, but i guess beggers can't be choosers... eulogy was of course excellent. they were showing the cro-magnum man clip, except it cut to two camels fucking during the middle of the song. where oh where do they find these wonderful clips?!?!? half empty was probably the best song of the set. (of course i'm biased - it's also my favorite song off of nima). the band was really putting a lot into it. mjk slowed down & extended the 'i don't mind...' part, repeating the phrase until he was almost at a whisper - then blasting it out & holding it for practically forever. wow. then we went back and through a couple more 'i don't mind'-s in there for good measure. this one sent chills down my spine, it was _that_ good! they didn't show any of the sober vid. instead they showed some folks 'marching', some sperm, and what looked like a wireframe journey through the inside of the human body. pushit was spiffy. not too much of note, except that mjk slowed it down a bit at the end, and sung the 'staring down the hole again' part an octave lower than usual. this was the first time i got to see nema all the way through. that song has a lot of power to it, and the crowd was really into it. mjk was very 'untalkative'. he really only talked twice: 1) after forty six & 2, he said: "Korn didn't make it today. James is sick - he's in the hospital. What I want to do now is make a candle. At the count of three, what I want you to do is yell 'yes' for James..." 2) before nema, he mentioned that this song has a 'movie' attached to it, and that it was about "getting back to what matters..." myself and several others around me kept yelling for 'no quarter' in between songs. i guess they were ignoring us. ;) i was hoping that since they were the last act, that they would play an extended set... i guess they're getting tired, or something, because they came on at 9:00 p.m. CST, and left at about 10:15. after nema, the house lights came on right away (no hope for an encore...). justin & mjk through out bottles of water into the crowd. danny tossed some drumsticks too. then itchy & scratchy started - and they were out of there! finally, i'll try and send a review of failure to steve reed @ www.failure.org and i might even write more about lolla itself (the pugs - oy.), and post it to my own page, jawz.aads.net/~andyr.

Review written by: Mike (roman719@mail.idt.net) Review posted on: 07/26/97 01:54:04 Okay, let me first say that the only thing that I didn't like about TOOL's performance was that it was too short. I was a bit scared for a bit sunce TOOL was slated to be 2nd to last, and Devo closing, and Devo came on instead of TOOL. The rest of Lollapalooza was kind of bad, but I still managed to have a good time. My friends and I snuck up to the pavilion seats to get a better view, and we did. Maynard came on stage as with the Novemember show, half blue half white and in only his underwear I believe, except he also had fake breasts and a fake pony tail. The opened up with 'Hooker w/a Penis', and the about 7 hour wait for TOOL to play was all well worth it. The next song was an extended version of 'Stinkfist', then 'Forty-six&Two', followed by 'Crawl Away', 'Eulogy', 'H.', 'Pushit', 'Opiate', and 'AEnema'. Don't quote me on that order, but I think that's accurate. This show was a bit different from when I saw them in November, because I was more familiar w/the band and their songs. By the end of TOOL's 1:20 or so set, I had no voice left and was pretty tired singing and dancing around to music. As for the rest of Lollapalooza, it wasn't that great, Snoop was decent, and Devo was a nice little comedic act. The other artists were sub-par. It was quite unfortunate about Munky getting viral meningitis, but the show had to go on, and I think Maynard did a nice thing with asking for a big "Yeah" for Munky in the hospital. Well, that's about it, I can't wait for TOOL to come to Chicago again.
