Summer 1998 Tour Reviews

Review written by: Master Reviewer (rowynne@aol.com) Review posted on: 08/24/98 03:32:37 I called, waited, wished, prayed, and dreamed of a second helping of Tool for a year straight. After seeing them at Lollapalooza '97 last summer at the Gorge show (George, Washington) and fully adopting them as my favorite band, nothing would have been more fulfilling. I crossed my fingers toes and state lines (Tacoma, Washington being home to me) to make this show, and in my pretzel- twisted shape witnessed Tool once again in their full shining glory. My mission was simple--to enter the Coliseum and get as close to Maynard James Keenan as possible. (And as a side note to get a stuffed sheep to him, which I tried via security. Hopefully, and I say that with extremely pitiful pained wistfulness, it reached him.) That I accomplished, though not involving myself in the onslaught of humanity that assailed security early in the show. (I'd imagine the guards are hibernating in their beds with ice packs and chicken soup, recouperating from the event. They were flattened by the seated who abandoned their seats not halfway into the set, stampeding the barriers. Like lemmings running to their death they flooded the GA area.) I did though manage to acquire two seats for my boyfriend and me, MUCH preferable to the nosebleed section I would have been stuck with had I complied to the Man. Read Elf1916's review for the mystic side--my experience was spiritual in its own right, but my pleasure was derived from the simple fact that I was in the same room with the band. That and they played nearly everything I wanted to hear--opening with a cut off their first EP (Part of Me) was incredibly surprising and an exhilerating intro...Stinkfist satisfying in that I sang it myself in a cover with my old band...everything else awesome in that I could dance and sing and scream my heart out along with them, this time knowing the songs inside and out, feeling their meaning in every fiber, the presence of Maynard, Danny, Adam, and Danny augmenting and intensifying the experience the whole way. These guys are the creators of art that has served me as a release and as an inspiration, and my satisfaction was simply watching them, bringing them one step closer to reality in my mind. And on a personal note of smugness, the one song that was expanded on and experimented with happened to be my absolute favorite, that hymn to oppression, Pushit. The dreaminess with which the band executed that song was incredible...who would think such an angry song (wry grin--when isn't Tool angsty?) could be made to float, to waft out of the speakers? Only in the minds of Tool...but there it was, wrapping its wispy notes around you, its airiness comforting and deceptive, lulling you into sweet rapture before slamming you back into reality with the song's familiar urgent drive. They didn't change the end, though they seemed to have amputated the lyrics a bit, excluding the whole "pushing shoving scrambling to keep my feet down on the ground," and "I'd trade it all for just a little peace of mind," pieces. It didn't take away, though. I didn't even notice it until afterwards. It was rewarding, awe-inspiring, and everything to write home about. In my case, I'll treasure the memory even more tenderly since I'm on my way across the Atlantic in 2 weeks...I'll be telling tales of Tool in Scotland, in my dorm. So any word about the sheep, Maynard, would be well appreciated, damn soon!!

Review written by: Master Bator (.) Review posted on: 08/23/98 22:58:54 All the setlists posted are correct. You Lied was unbelievable, I hope they record it. MJK: "You're not fucking. I'm disappointed. If you're too damn ugly to find a partner, start masterbating." (I know most of you couldn't give a toot, but in the last 2 shows - Portland and Reno - I got to hear You Lied, H, Third Eye, Flood, No Quarter, the new Pushit, and Swamp Song twice. You can't believe how satisfying that is.) To all of you who will be hearing Tool for the first time in the next few days, here's the deal: Tool is at their peak right now. I've been seeing their shows for 5 years and this is the best they've ever performed. So the next guy you hear who says, "aww man, you should have seen them in '93"... it's bullshit.

Review written by: Heidi the Hooligan (cavernoftreasure@prodigy.net) Review posted on: 08/23/98 12:31:39 Absolutely Stupefying! The concert was so astonishingly marvelous that I can hardly believe that I was there. I have been to TOOL concerts before but this time I was right there in front for almost the entire duration of the show. Maynard makes for a s uprisingly beautiful woman and is, of course, an amazing performer. The movement of his body and the way that it flows so perfectly with the music is such an incredible sight that it was almost difficult for me to take my eyes off of him to witness the f antastic guitar and bass playing by Adam and Justin. One thing, however, that was absolutely impossible to miss was Danny's extraordinary execution of Opiate...it brought tears to my eyes. I did this concert completely sober and found that their music alone (especially live) can take you places that no drug can. The only negative thing that I can say is to all of the pernicious little twits elbowing their way to the front: Come on people , learn to enjoy TOOL and stop worrying about the position from which you do it. Now I am off to Seattle for tonights concert and then off to Medford for Monday night. If any of you are going...Enjoy!

Review written by: Brad (porch@gte.net) Review posted on: 08/23/98 03:46:00 The show rocked...I wanted to be on the floor but we couldn't get floor tickets, but my brother was sick anyway so it was ok to be in the stands...and besides, I'll be at the Medford show so Portland was just a warmup for the real fun anyway. :) I thought the highlights were Pushit, Stinkfist, and You Lied. You Lied is WAY heavier live than on the mp3. The slow version of pushit is just awesome...and to the guy who said he was the only one singing along, he's wrong, cause I was singing it too...but I know the feeling, no one around me knew the slow version. Was it just me or did Stinkfist have an extra verse? There was one part where I was singing along and all of a sudden I couldn't follow, I'm pretty sure it was an extra verse...e-mail me if anyone knows what he said. During stinkfist my adrenaline was really going partly because of the song and partly because everyone was rushing the floor, and it was kind of a rush cause I felt like I was witnessing this riot. No, I did not rush the floor, though I would have liked to have been down there. The guy next to me rushed the floor though, which was hilarious. He didn't do it when everyone else did...he waited till they were most of the way through the set, he got out of his seat, stood right in front of me (I had the aisle seat) and ran down the stairs and jumped down there...trouble is he still had the barricades to get over, so as soon as he hit the floor he landed right next to this security guard who had no trouble at all catching him and hauling him off...it was pretty funny. The poor guy didn't stand a chance to actually make it to the general admission section. Oh yeah, another highlight for me is when the chick behind me offered me a hit off her joint...I declined, but was flattered nonetheless...either she was really generous or she wanted me...probably both. :) Overall the show fuckin rocked, it was the best show I've seen yet (2nd best is tool in Salem last year) but I'm counting on the Medford show being even better, mainly because I'll be right down where all the action is. :) Oh and by the way...like Maynard, I was kinda disappointed that no one around was fucking, even after Maynard repeatedly requested that people get it on. I guess some people probably were, just not very close to me. Damn. Oh well, maybe next time.

Review written by: Fessler! (Ubel Engel@aol.com) Review posted on: 08/23/98 01:59:35 OH MY GOD! this was my first TOOL show and i was the best concert i'v ever been to! i got there real early cuz and had to wait for the dude who had my tickets so i was kind of pissed. KUFO, the best radio station in Oregon, was giving away floor tickets to anyone that was wearing a homemade KUFO T-shirt and i was so i got the tickets. Th at was really cool. The Melvins started right about the time i got down to the floor, they weren't that bad. The lead singer sucked and he looked real stupid with his big afro. The drummer kicked ass though. The Melvins played too long i think and there wasn't much of a pit . Anyway, after their set and TOOL got on the crowd came alive. I was right up front and getting my ass kicked( i was probably the youngest guy in the pit). MJK was wearing a dress and a wig, he looked funny. I was a bit disappointed by the fact that they didn't play Third Eye but they did play a lot of awesome songs. Opiate and Flood were probably the best songs they played crowd response wise. After the show i learned that there was like a riot or something and that's cool. Any way, that was the best show i'v ever been to and i can't wait for them to come back

Review written by: Amir Kouretchian (adog1111@aol.com) Review posted on: 08/23/98 01:07:05 What's up you fucking Tool fans! Personally, I thought the show was FUCKING AWSOME! Anything that Tool plays is awsome man. It's not just noise and guitar feedback, Reverend Maynard knows what he's saying. The new version of Pushit was awsome and sometimes I kinda wish they had recorded it that way, but I guess it wouldn't have been as good huh? At any rate, as I've said, the entire fucking concert was awsome as hell and I'm glad I get to see them in Seattle as well. I'm not sure if anyone posted this yet, but right when Stinkfist started, the crowd started pouring into the GA section. The floor was half fuckin empty and probably at least half of the crowd (if not more) ran in like allied soldiers rading the beach at Normandy. It was pretty wild, and some people got fucked up pretty bad. In the end, two-thirds of the GA section was filled up and the crowd took it easy after Stinkfist (other then yelling and screaming as lowd as we fucking could). THis is a long shot, but if anyone in the Seattle area or anywhere else can hook me up with back stage passes to their concerts, e-mail me. That would kick fuckin' ass. That's about it. Anyone that thought any of the songs didn't meat their stupid fucking standards is just a fucking moron cause Tool meats and exceeds ALL EXPECTATIONS.

Review written by: Mahavishnu Alex (porno@soundtrack.org) Review posted on: 08/22/98 21:19:41 Greeting Toolophiles- setlist: Part of Me Eulogy Stinkfist You Lied Swamp Song Forty-Six & 2 Pushit (alternate) Drum Solo w/ Justin, Adam Sober Aenima Opiate Flood Flood was the biggest surprise. Rare appearance these days. Tim Leary w/ Ions in background preceeded Forty-Six & 2. Alternate Pushit started slow then resumed record version in the middle of song. In Maynards words, "a rewarding experience." I agree. Maynard announced that Laundry (Tim Alexander, formerly of Primus, his solo project) will be playing Berbati's Pan, Sat. 8/22 at 11:00pm, so let's show some respect to Maynard and Herb and show up. Plus, Herb's a killer drummer. About 300 brave souls rushed the G.A. floor during Stinkfist. It was a sight to behold. Live long and prosper, Mahavishnu bweaver@pacifier.com

Review written by: elf (elf1916@aol.com) Review posted on: 08/22/98 19:55:34 i've been a fan for all of about two weeks now. he he. and all i really have to say is.... Maynard, what the hell do you do with all of the Energy. sorta tapped into it for a second, and with all the other clues... just gotta wonder.... oh, and did you get the sheep? kinda hoped you'd get the clue, and play digustipated. ha ha. Oh. and for all you toolphiles look for the set list sometime soon. i have to say, i'm damn impressed. Yes he's still bald. And kinda creepy in a sexual sorta way.... still gives me shivers. Elf1916

Review written by: MacDaddy (Scooby@groovealicious.com) Review posted on: 08/22/98 19:49:14 Oh by the way Maynard was not plugging a Primus show... He was saying that Tim Alexander's (Herb the Ginseng Drummer formerly of Primus) band was playing at Berbati's Pan tonight. Herb's band is called Laundry though and I called Berbati's and they said a band called Libido was playing at 11pm (they are like from austria) not Laundry. Hmmmmm........ Could it of been Portland Maine? Uh sure.

Review written by: MacDaddy (Scooby@the.groovealicious) Review posted on: 08/22/98 19:41:55 Three words... Tool is Cool. Quite impressive show. I saw them for the first time last year and this show in some ways far surpassed that one. Maynard was not as intense in his stretches and movements at the Portland show. The crowd dug the Melvins.... And then tOOL walked out on stage and started into Part of Me. Maynard had the kicking pelvic action going down. The show was quite impressive - except the idiots who decided that rushing the gates to the floor is cool. Tool is a excellent live band delivering a real message to the masses. We should not jeopardize the future of the bands touring by doing dumb shit at the shows (many bands touring possibilites are crippled by fans doing dumb shit). The speech (by Timothy Leary I believe) was very cool. I hope the audience was listening.... Some of the ideas I remember Question Authority.. Do you know who you are? Do you know where you are? Don't believe in the reality that has been forced upon you. Think for yourself and evolve..change.. pass the threshold. I also dug the Video before Sober of the guy saying.. Do you know the meaning of life? Then a nurse was saying: How may I assist you? Very cool..... Driving five hours to see them on Monday too.

Review written by: Omniscient (Omniscient8@Hotmail.com) Review posted on: 08/22/98 19:24:35 HOLY FUCKING SHIT! Those were pretty much the only words going through my head for the entire rest of the night after the show. It is by far the most incredible, mind-blowing thing I have ever experienced... I arrived the the Memorial Coliseum fairly earl y and caught all of the Melvins. And for everyone out there bitching about whether or not the Melvins suck, here's the deal: They don't suck, they DO, however have a shitty lead songer with one of the most God-awful voices I've ever heard. They have some musical talent, but a seeming lack of inspiration or creativity. The best part of the band is their drummer. ANYWAY, Tool finally came out, with a simultaneous nuclear explosion from the crowd, myself included. I must say, even with a number of Mansonite-Goth little fag kids running around, the crowd in Portland did seem to be mostly with it when it comes to Too l...as in most people knew of Opiate. That's good atleast. I've been reading the setlists from other shows this Summer and they all seemed fairly OK, but in Portland they BLEW ME AWAY by singing every good song I wanted to hear, and I couldn't have created a better or more intense setlist than they did last night . Not in order, but: Sober, Aenema, 46&2, Opiate, Slow Pushit, Stinkfist, Eulogy, Swamp Song, Part of Me, You Lied, Flood....What more could you want?? As half of the Coliseum practically rushed the security guards onto the floor, I was pretty tempted to do it myself, even though a few people were being torn apart by security. Oh well, my seats were good, and I sat on a rail along the seats with about 6 other people and we just rocked out and sang our brains out to every single song. I bought a 5 dollar TOOL pass/necklace and fooled a LOT of people into thinking it was a backstage pass..heheh. All in all one of the best night of my life, only thing that sucked was that my head hurt afterwards pretty bad from a tremendous rush of....who knows what to my brain. Something incredible... I have to go now and let my eyes roll into the back of my head with drool running down my chin as I recall the concert once more...Gaahgghh. TOOL ROCKS!!!

Review written by: PK Review posted on: 08/22/98 19:18:05 This was a great show!!!! Sound was just perfect, not too loud and not too soft. Since everyone else has mentioned pretty much everything, i will just add a few things others haven't said. Before the show maynard came out and said the melvin's bassist had a bad case of diarrhea (wrong spelling) and then he asked someone to fill in for him. Maynard chose a security guard, but that guy was actually the real Melvin's bassist. Come on guys, didnt you think it was such a big coincidence that the random security guard knew all of the Melvin's songs by heart, and played very well i might add. I personally loved the Melvin's set, along with most of the people who were attending. I didnt hear any "boo's." The drummer for the Melvins is really good by the way!!! Is their drummer still former nirvana drummer Dale Crover? (email me). Tool's set rocked. Maynard played the intro to "Eulogy" different than the way it is on Aenima. I personally liked the cd version better. "You lied" was excellent. Buzz definitely made "stinkfist" better. Although Danny's intro to Sober rocked, i was a bit dissapointed, because i thought it could have been alot better. The transition into sober wasnt that great. Maynard didnt sing the "i want what i want" part in sober, which i was really waiting for!! Instead he just left it silent. Also i think something went wrong during that part, because during sober Maynard kept pointing to a speaker while looking at a sound-tech guy off-stage, (it could have been just a part of his dancing, you never know with Maynard). But then after "sober" someone came out from off-stage and was talking with Maynard for a few seconds. I dont know what that was about. I was in the seats so i couldnt really tell what was going on, however if someone does know, then post it or email me. I dont know why Maynard was plugging a Primus show, during one of his own concerts. (Maybe because Noiseland Arcade will be playing there?? Who knows). But if you know where it is playing, email me. "Opiate" and "Flood" rocked!!! Flood was definitely the best song played that night, imho. There were many Timothy Leary clips played before the show and during the show when they played (- ions) right before "Pushit." However i could not hear any of it, because of all the noise. While i was waiting for Tool to come out after the show, i saw Danny's cousin leaving the arena with two of her friends. Long blonde hair and pretty good looking. At about 11:15, (15 minutes late) pizza (from Pizza Hut, i might add) arrived and we were told that Tool would not be out for another 3 hours and when they do come out they probably will not talk to any of us and just leave the arena like they always do. Nevertheless me and a friend waited till 12:00, still no sign of Tool, so we left. BTW the key chains that say "condoms are for pussies and assholes" was being sold in this venue. I know it wasnt being sold in some of the others. The crowd at this show was pretty good. I didnt see too many redneck drunks messing the show up. I think this was because they all had passed out in the "beer garden" section of the venue. Anyways, i had a blast, i hope you have been enlightened, i will give you another review for the Seattle Show. They better play "Third Eye!!!!" Pacman........ PS If you are a tool-inspired guitarist living around the seatte area, and you want to jam with a tool-inspired drummer. Email me!!

Review written by: Lyndon Beckner (becknerl@proaxis.com) Review posted on: 08/22/98 18:23:19 Allright, we roll into portland around 1:00. Jon and I decide to check out a few record stores and get something to eat... Blah Blah... We arrive at the colliseum at around 5:30, gates were supposed to open at 6:00. We talk to a couple of people we dont know for an hour... then head for the doors. Me and jon decide to stand in front of a door, and I guess people must have thought gates were opening. Another 15 minute wait. Allright, we sit, and sit, and sit, and maynard comes out to introduce the melvins. He tells us that the bassist is sick, and they need a bass player, he then told a security guy he could play bass, since he was paid to be there anyways. Buzz said he l ooked dumb, the security guy. The guy came up and did a pretty good job. I didnt really dig them. Their first song was pretty cool I guess, I was pretty into it just because I had never been to a concert before, but the feedback and slow riffs really go t old. The drummer told the security guy not to quit his day job before leaving. That had to make the security man feel like crap. Melvins leave, lights go up, techno music, a guy talking. Tool comes on, a little feedback rings through our ears and maynard comes out in a nice dress ensamble, to sing us Part of Me. Oh my god, the day I've been waiting for all damn summer was here. I dont know if there is a word to express what was going t hrough my mind/body at that moment. After part of me, maynard yells "Poooooorrrrrttttllllaaaaannnndddd!" Then they bust into eulogy, which was REALLY REALLY good. King Buzzo comes out, and they do stinkfist, about this time, a couple hundred children decide to crowd into the aisles, and jump a 6-8 foot wall, and then run through a 10 foot barrier to get onto the floor. I found this really stupid, but suprisingly fun to watch. Security was beating the shit out of a lot of people, as well they shou ld have been... It's just plain stupid to try to make it through 2 barriers that are heavily gaurded. You lied was next, less people hurling themselves over barriers, due to the fact it was a slower song. I sang along to you lied. Alone. The idiot s started up again when swamp song kicked in, but during this song, security took control of the matter, and it was pretty much over for the rest of the show. 46&2 ruled, I love justin's bass tone... The Slow pushit is so awesome, I was the only one si nging along, again. Then a nice little happy drum solo, accompanied by maynard on his eulogy hair dryer thing, making animal noises. Then came nema, this song had the whole place going apeshit, I recall stabbing at least 7 people to death with my ticket stub during this song. Heh, just kidding. Ok, they sit down, pretend they're going to leave, lighters flare up, people chant, i c atch my breath, and maynard tells us herb from primus' band is playing, and tells us to go cause he told us, and because we like music, or because we dont like music, or because we want to, or because we dont want to, and finally, because "choices always were a problem for you..." Then, ofcource, the crowd goes nuts, and opiate is played, then flood. Tool leaves the stage, and I notice someone behind me has written a setlist, I ask her if she's going to post a review, and she says yes. Yells, rather. Everyone was def after the show... Oh yeah, hooker with a penis, lounge mix played on the screen, and I sang along. I have to say, this concert changed my life, i'de been waiting to see tool for months, i'de wanted to see tool for years, and this liv ed up to every single expectation. It was well worth it. Incase you are like me, and you just scroll through the reviews to find the setlist. Here you go. 1. Part of Me 2. Eulogy Maynard has his "evil step mother" Buzz from the Melvins come out. 3. Stinkfist (with extended bridge) 4. You Lied Buzz goes bye-bye. 5. Swamp Song 6. 46 & 2 7. Pushit (slow version) 8. Sober (with video/drum solo] 9. Aenema 10. Opiate 11. Flood If anyone got a tape of the show, please please email me. I will glady part with a testicle. Tool, thankyou for coming, and when you come again, I'll be there. With a sharpened ticket stub.

Review written by: bastardometer (bastardometer13@hotmail.com) Review posted on: 08/22/98 16:21:08 Great show!! Maynard wasnt that active tonight. His singing was outstanding as usual. He came out in a uniform-looking blue dress with a short black hair wig. He then stipped during You lied except for a shirt which he took off backstage and cam out to cheers with a bra on. Some things were diferent than other new shows. The bridge on stinkfist was a bit changed at the end. The cool drums beat for a second then explodes into "Ill..keep..digging" During most of this song most seat fans seemed to be, all at once, rushing into the general admission area from seating past the guards. I saw a couple people get taken down badly by security. Too bad they didnt get to see the rest of the show. Pushit was the same slower opening version but Maynard has found ways to change his voice just a tad to perfect the song's serene and explosive parts and give us fans the tinglely feeling that this song causes. Sober's into was crazy. Maynard was speaking w/ a wierd voice into a mic while the other members were playing their instruments fairly softly with minor feedback.. its hard to rember this part-it seemed to put one in a trance. Maynard said some stuff before Aenema but i dont remember. They took a slight break then played the Opiate/Flood combo. Couldnt have asked for more. The sound and acoustics were perfect, the lightshow added just the right effect to the songs, the screen was very artistic, and the crowd liked the Melvins. TOOL ROOL-thanks

Review written by: Steven Rambo (7317.264@compuserve.com) Review posted on: 08/22/98 15:13:26 Of all the fucking concerts I've been to, this was the motherfucker of 'em all! I was waiting for a girl, but she never showed up, so that brought me down quite a bit. But when Maynard came out dressed as a midwife or something, I got up and ready. I w as on the balcony, but during Stinkfist in which Buzz came out to help with the guitars, me and about a few hundred other peole rushed out to the dance floor. A security guard came out and grabbed my ear, but some stoned, drunk dude ran into him, forcing the guard to let go of me. I ran to the mosh pit and forced myself to the front, where I got kicked in the head several times because of the moshers. Maynard was sexy in that outfit, man. Was it just me, or did anyone else get turned on by his sexy da ncing? I just loved Buzz's hair. It was too cool. Also there bassist did some cool dance moves. When MJK said to grab a pole and fill a hole, I then wished Crystal was with me so could score, but she wasn't there, so I masterbated. I loved the songs You Lied, Eulogy, and the slow version of Pushit. I loved the talking pussy and singing dicks for Hooker with a Penis at the very end of the concert. During Sober, I think they showed a video of people fucking, or something like that.

Review written by: Outsider (outsider_316@yahoo.com) Review posted on: 08/22/98 14:42:32 Our seats were to the left of the stage and sucked. MJK introduced the Melvins and said something about one of the members being sick and had someone else come up to play with them. I don't exactly know what was going on because I couldn't see a thing, but whoever they brought up sure wasan't an amateur. They played for about 45 minutes, maybe less. I really wasan't keeping track. When they finished they told the guy they brought up not to quit his day job. The lights turned on and we sat for a while. Then the lights went out again and Tool came out. Maynard was wearing a dress and I think a wig. Here is the setlist: 1. Part of Me 2. Eulogy (Maynard brings out his "evil step sister" Buzz from the Melvins) 3. Stinkfist (with extended bridge) 4. ???????? (No idea what this was) (Buzz leaves) 5. Swamp Song 6. 46 & 2 7. PuShit (new version) 8. Sober (with drums/noise intro) 9. Aenema 10. Opiate 11. Flood This was my first Tool show and words can't define how cool it was. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it. You will kick yourself for missing such an experience.

Review written by: K.Pierce (kpierce@usa.net) Review posted on: 08/22/98 14:29:41 I'm not sure how, but everytime I see Tool, they level me like I've never heard them before. Once again, the case. I'm not running down the setlist, (I'm sure someone will), but intense moments for me were the absolutley amazing version of Pushit that they did, and playing Stinkfist with Buzz helping out. (Turns out, according to Maynard, that Buzz is his evil step mom. Go figure.) And also, alot of people have been dumping on the Melvins in these reviews, and that sucks, cause the Melvins are a trip, and they kicked much ass in Portland. People, the Melvins ARE NOT a band that comes up with a catchy hook to keep your attention. You actually have to pay attention and LISTEN. Sorry, but if you can get something from Tool, how can you not get the Melvins? Anyway, the show was killer, with the exeception of one thing, a bunch of punk bitches bumrushed the floor area, and people got hurt. You guys are fuckheads. That shit makes shows stop and bands walk off stage. GROW UP, and buy the tickets that you want. By the by, whats up with Maynard, he seems really hot on this thing where he wants everyone fucking each other.... kpierce@usa.net

Review written by: Robert Kent (smiley_gladhands@hotmail.com) Review posted on: 08/22/98 14:19:55 First off I have to say it was an amazing show. My seat was to the left of the stage, but moved down to get a better view. There were plenty of empty seats when the Melvins began to play. Maynard introduced them, and said the bass player had diarhea and then asked if anyone wanted to replace him. It ended up being some security guy, he wasn't half bad. Tool started out with Part of me. Maynard was in drag, no surprise. Next was Eulogy, which they did a very good job on. I think it was during Stinkfist that the crowd broke through the far barier to get on the floor with the suckers who paid lots of money to get there. Lot's of people made it before the security guys kinda got a handle on it. I begin to forget the set list after this. I remember them playing, in no particular order, 46&2, Push it, Sober, Aenima, Opiate, and Swamp Song. I know there is more, but I can't remember. Hopefully someone else will post a set list. Oh by the way, this was my first Tool concert. It rocked!!
