summer 2009 the lowdown and the followup

Couldn't make the show? At least you can find out how it was. Here's what fans from each tour stop had to say about this tour, which was the first set of dates Tool played since the end of 2007 (538 days since their previous show, if you were counting).

This tour was unusual in that it did not follow Tool's usual pattern of ending a tour hiatus only after releasing a new album. The reason for this may never be publicly explained.

Also, for you t.d.n historians, this tour listing was the first in ten years to use a new button for "reviews." The old one decided it was time for a break, and is still hanging out on old tour itineraries.

Unlike tours before 2006, all reviews were posted to the forums. This means posts are not exclusively "reviews", as there is some discussion, though we tried to keep the noise down and the readability up. A total of XX (some big number which we haven't counted yet) reviews and observations were posted for these 16 shows. Happy reading.
