This past fall, the mailing list decided that if you are
going to see Tool live, all you have to do is yell "Chickenweasel!!!" as
loud as you can, right after they play "Stinkfist". The hope had been to
unite online Tool fans, and this objective was largely achieved. (In
fact, it seems to continue on as some weird form of t.d.n lore). However,
for various reasons (mainly since people began thinking they were supposed
to yell at the band, rather than each other) the "chickenweasel" fun came
to a close in early March 1997. Thanks to all who participated in this
past fall's riotous raucousness. Further information on the success of
the "chickenweasel" campaign is available in the Fall 1996 Tour Review
page. And please note: the "chickenweasel" fun was not sanctioned by the
band, only by the Mailing List and this site. The Australian leg of this tour saw BMG Australia open a tour-website (listed below), as well as the first automated section of t.d.n; tour reviews were all posted via web browsers. Midway through this tour, concert reviews began being presented in a new format: rather than having each in a separate file (which made downloading take longer, navigating more difficult, and made it impossible to decide which to read), reviews for any given show are now all in one file. |
